This is really ridiculous. Sonos...WHY would you harm your brand like this? When I try and use your app, I get a default to a System Settings page that says it cannot find my system. That’s it. Mic drop. p.s. I have Sonos set up at both my primary residence and my cottage...same experience at both.
Yes, this is one more thread about the new app, hooray!I’ve noticed recently that the battery life of my phone has decreased. I used to sustain a charge for six days, but it is down to five. (My Moto53g has a 5000 mAh battery, and I have things like GPS turned off.)Obviously, there can be many reasons for this, but when I checked last night what has been taken battery, the Sonos app topped the list with 24%, before Poweramp with 11%. To note here is that while I’m working, I mainly listen to music from the phone, although I work from home.I surely have permitted Sonos to be active in the background, but I find it ironic that it consumes this much power, when ever so often I open the app it says that it can’t find any system, and it takes it while before it finds it again.
Hello! every time I open the new app it states ‘turn on Bluetooth to allow ‘sonos’ to connect to accessories’ is there a way of turning this off? I don’t want Bluetooth connected on my phone all day and this message appears every time.
Many new and long-standing Sonos users have been disappointed by the recent Sonos “app overhaul” [released May 2024]. For many this update is a step backward from what they have come to expect from Sonos OR even makes their system unusable in any meaningful way. As Sonos users have been left without any real alternative (and no music), this poll asks Sonos to make the old app available again as a backup without delay. Sonos software on Andrioid is pure garbage. Absolute TRASH. Crashes nearly every day. But funny...on my other cell phone, also Android, I can play Spotify music easily using office wifi. So if you ask Sonos about this problem, they say “Well it’s a problem with your office wifi”. Nope...works great. The s****y software doesn’t. Hi - since the new app upgrade I am unable to add any songs to an existing playlist when I tap on ‘now playing ‘nothing happens now … beside search button isn’t there so both instructions from the user guide do not workplease advise what I need to do thanks lesley
I have been able to add a Sonos Port on a recent firmware version using the new v80 App (iOS). However, a second Port that was on a much older firmware version can simply not be added. I have also been unable to add a Sonos One (also on older firmware) - in this case the speaker is partly added to the system but then the mandatory firmware update fails during the setup process. I have tried this on: (1) Different networks. (2) Wired and wireless. (3) On my existing and a new Sonos account.I tried to downgrade to S1 to attempt updates this way - but the downgrade option has not been developed for v80 App and is not listed on the roadmap (so I assume this will take some time).Has anybody been able to find other workarounds? Sonos customer support is uncontactable due to all the App issues resulting in customer service being overloaded but it also seems that customer service just blames the Wi-Fi network which cannot be the case for me as I tried this on two networks.
Hello,I am experiencing difficulties with the Trueplay calibration of my Sonos system. Here are the details of my setup and the issues I have encountered:**Configuration:** - Sonos Beam 2 - Two Era 300 configured in surround mode 2 iPhone used for calibration - Linksys Hydra Pro 6E router with repeater Linksys VELOP Pro 6E (disabled for testing) - All devices are updated to the latest firmware version**Issue encountered:**Individually, the Trueplay calibration works correctly on the Beam 2 and on each Era 300. However, when the Era 300 are configured in surround mode with the Beam 2, I am unable to start the Trueplay calibration.**Additional details:**- The Era 300 automatically connect to a WiFi network created by the Beam 2. I have attempted to disable the WiFi on the Beam 2 so that all devices connect to my main network, without success.- I have reset all devices multiple times and tried different network configurations (with and without repeater). The only thing I haven’t tried is c
I have Sonos speakers dating from 2013 - 2017, Play 1, Play 5, and sound bar. Looking for recommendations on the best compatible turn tables and connection configurations. Thank you
Every Sonos speaker in the house blocks Airplay streams and requests an AirPlay Password whenever Airplay Require Password is enabled on the Apple TV or in the Apple Home app.Once the password is enabled, Airplay works well with Apple devices but not with Sonos devices. No Sonos speaker is affected when the AirPlay password is disabled on Apple TV or the Home app. They continue to request the Airplay password.Resetting each Sonos speaker individually is the only thing that appears to solve the problem.Has anyone encountered this issue?(I've attempted to call Sonos, but the line keeps cutting out; case number 04688582; diagnostics 726588139)
Just updated to latest app and the search function doesn’t search my nas. I have found out that this is new search and I need to change to classic search. In my app the search box comes up just as a single line search and no options to switch to classic and no options in settings anywhere. I am on iPad.
Hi I’ve not posted before and it’s a little confusing but here goes. Like loads of other people on here after updating the new Sonos app nothing works properly.i have a possible solution. I’d like me you have old iPhones or iPads in drawers not used , grab one. If the phone or iPad doesn’t have anything higher than iOS 15 installed it’s ideal. First turn off iOS updates then download Sonos 1, this will ask you to down load to s2. Click the button and a message will inform you that the new app can’t be run and an older version will be installed. That the gold sonos thumbnail one.Im now back up and running on the system with no probs. Hopefully Sonos/apple will fix the new app problem but until then give this a go.
Thanks again Salami Slices- I do have my library back and it is functional! I still do not have ability to search and play/rearrange songs from queue like before but for now, I am OK. I do have a question. I created an Amazon playlist. It does show up in my music when I select Amazon as my streaming service. It plays the same songs though and there is no ability to shuffle or turn on crossfade. I read you need to load to a SONOS playlist. I can’t do this- is this because the functionality broke with 80.00.04 and 80.00.11? Does anyone know how I can get the Amazon playlists copied to SONOS playlists? I know Apple and SONOS do not play well together but thought I could get Amazon working.
I have a arc system with sub and two ones as rear speakers. When playing music from smart tv apps, such as Spotify and watching music videos, I don’t get the best sound quality, like I do when listening to music through the Sonos app. I have found out that the arc system has two modes. One for watching tv, and one for playing music. When listening to music through tv apps, It will only play in tv mode, and you don’t get that good music sound quality the system is capable of producing. So I wonder why Sonos don’t have a manual “switch” for this? I would love to have great music sound quality also when listening to tv apps and watching music videos.
Hello there, I’m looking to buy a Sonos Beam Gen 2 in Australia, Sydney. Afterwhich the speaker will be brought to Singapore. Would I still have access to the warranty? I can’t seem to find any details about international warranty and how to go about it.
Hello, I would like to know if the Sonos Ace is sweat resistant. Is it versatile enough to do sports unlike the AirPods Max? Thanks !
I have been a big fan of Sonos for some time. I own the Arc, Sub (Gen 3), Beam (Gen 2), Sub Mini, and Move. While the previous app was not very good it also wasn't very bad. It was tolerable even if the user interface looked like it was designed by a high schooler in an entry level computer class. At least it worked with minimal lag.For all of the reasons stated by your customers the new app is a complete disaster. The fact that you would release such an app tells me that you are either grossly incompetent or you just don’t care about your customers. Do your software product managers understand how to create a product roadmap and how to determine customer needs and requirements? I may never buy another Sonos product because of this utter failure. I am disgusted with you Sonos and suggest that you start consulting your legal team because there may be multidistrict litigation or class action litigation arising from the adverse impact your new app has on a consumer’s ability to enjoy the
Can Sonos add Fan noise to its choices of sounds to play for sleeping? You have a white noise, but I would like something deeper in sound, like fan noise. Or what some call, green noise.
How do I turn lossless audio streaming off, specifically in the Apple Music service, but also in any other service that I might use. I seemingly do not have the bandwidth to stream it reliably, and I suspect that is because my internet connection is fixed wireless. Moreover, I can’t tell the difference anyway, so the larger data stream is simply not required.
I live in a standalone apartment with no one above, sides, front or back of me, so cranking up the volume is not an issue. my apartment is laid out with both a family room and dining room adjoining each other with a side kitchen and the question I have with a 17‘ x 33‘ living and dining room area combined, would I be best served with 2 ERA 100 speakers or 2 ERA 300? I now have a Beam gen2 with a sub mini and would upgrade to a GEN 2 Arc when it comes out later this year or next year or whenever. I’m 79 years old and my hearing is not that great, but would like speech clarity in the movies I watch. After getting my sub mini along with the beam 2, the experience has improved greatly with my Samsung TV. Would I be best served foregoing the side surroundsound speakers and keep my current set up? I don’t care about wasting more money if I’m not gonna get a good improvement.
At Sonos, we take accessibility seriously and aim to build listening experiences that everyone can enjoy. The redesigned Sonos app was built from the ground up to support both modern and future Sonos experiences, and as part of that, we’ll be implementing ongoing improvements and enhancements over time. On May 7, the app will have basic support for screen readers, allowing you to swipe through and read through all items on the screen. Following launch, ongoing improvements to the accessibility of the updated mobile app will remain a top priority. A software release available May 21 will improve screen readers so you can select items on screen in any order. Further improvement will be added to the experience regularly until we reach parity with the S2 app by late June. In the meantime, the Sonos Windows and Mac applications will continue to operate as normal until our new web app has met our accessibility standards. Thank you for your patience as we continuously improve the accessibili
Just bought a brand new Sonos Amp by this memorial weekend. So excited to plug in my Bose speakers and then plug the Amp the power outlet to start setting/ connecting my Sonos systems. You know what, it spent me more than 5 hours, and reboot all my Sonos speakers/ internet router/ delete and reinstall Sonos app to my iPhone but still couldn’t connect the Amp. So frustrated to write down such complaints. Hey Sonos fix your App immediately or roll it back to the Gold color version 16.1 please!
I have been waiting for this feature for a long time, and now that it's finally here, it feels underwhelming. It only works about half of the time, other times I need to scrub the song to get it to start lossless, and sometimes the music just cuts off and playing the next song does nothing, it only plays silence. I have to choose a different album or playlist to get it to play music again.Has anyone else experienced this?
Hi all, we are doing an extension on our home and remoddeling the ground floor, this gives me opportunity to orchestrate a decent Sonos set up.I have a few questions, mainly around the Amp.I am looking to use the Amp in the lounge, have this conneced to my vinyl player as well as 2x B&W bookshelf speakers. We are not big TV watchers, so not really letting that factor in the layout - but in the future i think even connecting the 2x Era 100s would suffice.1. Is there much benefit to having the 2x Era 100s in there as well as the B&W speakers? Is it overkill for that space?2. Can i use the Amp and vinyl player to have that music in the other rooms via the Era 300s as per the image. If so, can these speakers have the same music at different volumes?3. Would a single 5 in the playroom and a single 5 in the kitchen diner suffice? Is 3x300 overkill? 4. Can i still “zone” these speakers to all play seperate things. I.e Kitchen diner 300s playing Music A, the playroom 300 playing Musi
