Hi,I'm looking for a speaker or other solution, that can give me that center speaker effect for my current setup. You know.. to get Nice clear voices in the Sound. My setup right now is: Sonos Amp with 2 third party speakers and a third party subwoofer. is this possible or is this a lost battle? nicklas
I got my Roam on Tuesday. I set it up and could play it on both Wifi and Bluetooth. I was still getting to grips with it and I somehow managed to lose the Bluetoth functionallity. I managed to reconnect to wifi but since then I can not set it up for Bluetooth. I am pressing the button on the back but the only light that appears is the white one which is either constant or flashing. The orange light appears at the bottom too.Any ideas how I can sort this out please? PS When it works it sounds superb.
Hey all, Here’s the setup - I have a very extensive Sonos system...multiple products, multiple upgrades, etc. etc.In my living room I have a 5.1 setup with in-wall speakers for TV/movies, all driven by an Anthem receiver, which is fed by multiple HDMI inputs (AppleTV, Roku, etc.).In my rec room I have a TV with a Sonos Arc and Subwoofer In another room I have a TV connected to a Sonos BeamIn both of the above rooms I can play the sound from the TV to multiple other rooms. It’s really good for sports and news. But I can’t do that from the living room because the Anthem receiver is in the path.I’d like to be able to do two things:Feed the TV audio from my living room to the Sonos network I tried using the audio outputs from the receiver into a Sonos Port, but the receiver only does that for analog ports. I tried using the second HDMI from the receiver out as an input into a Sonos Amp, but that HDMI output doesn’t appear to carry the audio signal. Automatically (i.e., without having to
Hello,I have been trying to select TV audio but my Sony X9500H keeps automatically switches back to Sonos Arc system sound.I am considering to by a Facebook TV portal which requires a connection to the TV speakers (to avoid echo). However, if I cannot find an easy way to switch back the audio from Arc to TV speaker, the Facebook Portal will be useless.ThanksHP
To the Sonos Team: Please let me know if „Pause all” button will be restored in the S2 app (iOS)? Is it even possible to restore this button in S2 app?
Want to use amp (older white version) with sub for music and arc for tv, can the sub connect to both devices, so when watching tv the sub is controlled by arc, and when listening to music it’s controlled by amp.
If I add two play 3’s paired with my Sonos amp running Rogers LS55 floor standing speakers. Will that setup work as surround sound?
I’m trying to find a path so Sonos can find my music library (iTunes). If I press My music folder it loads all my deleted music and duplicates that I’ve got rid of. When I go to iTunes and press file location and copy that into Sonos, it doesn’t work. Can anybody help me match the number of songs in iTunes to my Sonos system?
Hi, we require two separate Sonos admin users. One for myself and one for my spouse. We are already using our separate music streaming service. Can we have separate SONOS ADMIN users each for same SONOSsystems in one home?
Sonos Roam Microphone Light IssueSo got my roam yesterday love it, however just found out you cannot use true play while having google assistant enabled which is a shame. I’ve removed google assistant from the device and the microphone LED on top won’t glow white anymore? I’m sure it did yesterday when i first got it, now when pressing the button it just makes the noise but no light indication. I’ve reset the device 3 times and still no luck. the LED for the microphone won’t show even with alexa do i have a defective unit?Anyone else?
Hi All,Newbie here, I've just set up a new system (Arc + Sub + Amp to inceiling 3rd party speakers) it is all working great and sounds awesome, a lot better then the old surround system, i wanted to hook up a turntable to play through this system. Through reading i got the easist and cheapest way was to get a connect for a line in, then play through the room. So I got a zp80 cheap through a mate who upgraded, but have discovered it only works through the s1 appIs there a way I can make this work? My other thoughts are getting 2 one sl's to replace the ceilings and use the amp for the turntable Or Buy a port to swap out the zp80Thoughts?
O.P.Hi folks,I have an LG CX 65" OLED TV for which I just bought a Sonos Arc. My problem is that, if I plug it in to the eARC HDMI port as recommended, I don't seem to be able to select any other sound output channel. Now you may wonder why I would want to do this and I have an answer.I often need to be able to use headphones when watching TV late at night or when with my wife – I'm partially deaf and this allows me to enjoy watching without driving her to deafness too. However, choosing "wired headphones" or "wired headphones + internal speakers" in the audio output menu doesn't stick. It just switches back to "HDMI ARC" after a few seconds.I have gone through every setting I can find in the iOS app from Sonos and didn't find anything helpful. I managed to make it work only by unplugging the HDMI cable from the Sonos. I haven't tried other options such as using another HDMI input – perhaps that would help?If anyone can point me at what idiotic thing I'm doing wrong I’d be very gratef
Just a thought, but thinking it might be a useful feature to be able to go into Settings for a Sonos Room and disable playback of certain sources (streaming service, TV, aux line in). So for example, if you a home theatre room where you never intend to play anything but TV audio (perhaps because you have other Sonos speakers setup in the same physical room), you can disable all the stream services for that room. You would not be able to start a stream from this room or join an existing group. Another use case would be if you have a guest room where you want to allow use of certain streaming sources, but block others and perhaps your local library. Or perhaps you have a kids room where you only want them to use their own streaming account. It also could be useful if you have a Connect/Port with no amp attached, that’s only used as a line in source.I can understand where Sonos would not want to limit a system’s capabilities, but this sort of thing could be helpful in getting a syste
Has anyone used the rear speakers in stereo mode to channel dialogue to the rear. I'm having issues understanding dialogue through my Playbar
Hard to see control on black icons with black Roam speaker, Any sucections to high lite icons? The Roam sounds great .
Hi Currently, I purchsed two sonos amps and would like to set up a few in ceiling speakers around my house. I think I'm in need of a speaker selector switch to control the volume outputs, do you have any reccomendation on something with 6 or more zones?1 zone - for the theater room 1 zone - for outside 1 zone - den 1 zone - master bedroom 1 zone - kitchen
I am adding a new Product (the Ikea Symfonisk) to S1 and my current setup of playbar and x2 Play 1s (which will run fine on S1 app), but takes me tot he page that states the sonos app needs updating, even though I have already the updated S1 app -- when I click update it takes me to update to S2, and there is no way to get around it, and add a product to S1 app.
Hello. I’m more than happy to airplay from Apple Music to my Sonos speakers but I have a question for you. I’ve been taking a look to Cambridge audio cxn v2 and the new Evo unit (this one is a bit redundant as it comes with an internal amplifier). The idea is to haga a device that I can plug an hdd unit with flac music and connect it to the Sonos speaker. As an aside, it also provides a display where you can see the cover art, title etc. which is also neat. Questions are: can the Cambridge audio be connected to Sonos via wifi or only via line in? are there other solutions that provide a display and the capability of playing hdd files?thanks !
Hi,I've tried searching, but everything is linked to getting a Nvidia shield or Roku box...Can I use the Sonos Arc (without hdfury arcana) direct from a smart TV without eARC?I know it won't be lossless Dolby Atmos, but will it be 'OK'? Or is the Sonos Arc a waste of money without eARC?Or shall I just invest in an Nvidia shield (even though it doesn't do anything different to my smart TV - other than eARC support)Appreciate the advice!
0 repliesHiim looking for recommendations for best most suitable Sonos set up for our morning room which runs into the galley kitchenthe Morning Room is 12ft x 12ft and the kitchen is 17ft x 9ft. At the moment I just listen to music and radio on a 2nd gen play 5. We are putting a tv in the morning room and I’d like stereo sound, I’d also like the option of having a speaker at the far kitchen end for when I just want music or radio in the kitchen. It’s rare that the music is played at any great volume, just want the quality therefore thinking of Sonos Beam with Alexa under the tv, poss 2 x SL Ones in the morning room and then 1 x SL One at the far end of the kitchen, and then sell the play 5. I gave an arc in my living room but don’t want to spend that much on the set up for these two rooms. any thoughts/ suggestions for the best system for this room combination thanksdave
ok my thoughts on this, maybe (probably) not yours but interested in constructive opinions and viewpoints (excuse typo in heading). I’m not sure how many in here now will have ever used the CR200. I’m sure back then it cost a lot to make and that Sonos didn’t sell too many and that phones/tablets seemed the way forward. We now have voice control which is of course amazing, but it’s not good for browsing and discovery. And the app we have now is — well, it’s ok. It doesnt look great, it works and it’s ok. But does anyone else think it doesn’t feel like 15yrs of evolution from the CR200? Android tablets can be bought cheap from China in bulk and I don’t understand why Sonos don’t just buy in an unbranded model, lock it in with the Sonos app and have a known stable hardware platform that they can develop on, and that will appeal to the install market they are courting. A dedicated controller feels premium as a controller in a way your phone doesn’t. I love my Sonos and would never be
I’ve been a Sonos user at my primary home for over 10 years, having a very simple Sonos setup that works well for me since I already had a high end stereo system. However, I now live up to 50% time in a second location - a 1 bedroom flat. I’d like to port my music there as follows: attach an external HD with the Sonos music files to a generally idle computer and play it via Sonos without benefit of a stereo system.A friend has volunteered to give me her old S1 components, but I don’t understand the set-up without a conventional stereo & stereo speakers to know whether I could put something simple together from what she has (and which components I should claim). My modem/router is a different room than the one where my speakers would be, so I assume that I would need a Sonos bridge. I have a good quality pair of Bose computer speakers if that would be useful, but have no other stereo equipment other than a cheap 1-piece stereo for playing music on an iPod (so of no use for Sonos). I
Hi,I have a playbar that i would like to connect together with my Sonos Amp that powers 2x3’rd party speaker and a 3’rd party subwoofer. My goal was to get 2 front speakers, 1 “center”-speaker(playbar) and the sub. is this possible? - if yes…. Then how? :-)
Hi I have a Sonos Roam and really like the sound quality etc from this small speaker. But there is one thing I don't like, or I cannot figure out. When I don't use the Roam and store it charged to 100% and it is near my other speakers and within WiFi range it turns on for a few minutes every time somebody opens the APP and/or. I have more that 10 speaker and 4 active users so this happens very often during a day. As a result the battery level is getting lower and lower over a few days and when I would like to take it outside the battery level is (to) low and at least not full anymore. What I would like is to fully power off the Roam to be sure it never turnes on and uses any battery power when not In use. I tried bij using the button on the back but still it turns on every now and then. And I don't want to have it placed on the charger 24/7.What is the trick I'm missing (if any). ? Regards, Jeroen Arends
Hopefully a not so crazy question: now that the Roam is coming, will we ever be able use it as a calibration device for other Sonos speakers, e.g. home theather setup, etc.?I don't own any Apple devices to use trueplay and I imagine it's even annoying for Sonos to keep up with multiple device / mic profiles as even the latest iPod / iPad iterations are not yet supported. This wouldn't be a problem with Sonos Roam as you are already in control of what goes in them and we could finally have a solution for this whole "no trueplay on Android" topic.
