Hi AllI was hoping someone can help. I’m a complete novice to this. I am considering buying a Sonos arc and have a Samsung TV with an (HDMI in 4 (ARC) port on the back of it. Am I right in saying that if I buy the Sonos arc and plug it in to this port I will be able to gain Dolby Atmos sound ?thanks to anyone who can help !
My Mac laptop which is configured with Catalina cannot see the Sonos S2 system I am running, I have removed firewall and changed all privacy and security settings but still no joy. My wife who has a Big Sur computer can see the Sonos S2 system but unfortunatley my company is not upgrading to Big Sur just yet so i am stuck on Catalina with no music. Has anybody got any thoughts on how to fix it. The company runs Sophos EndPoint as an antivirus that i cannot disable - i am sure that it should not stop Sonos but just saying in case there is a settign in Sophos that needs changing.
My windows 10 S2 app, keeps asking to update. I updated is it already 6 times.I reset the app and I downloaded the app from Sonos and reinstalled it.Problem persist. Please advice
I would like to buy a Roam but this only works with Sonos 2 and I have a Bridge and Play 5 that only work with Sonos 1 (I also have 2 x Play 3 and 1 x Play 1 which should work with Sonos 2).Currently I have the Sonos 1 app running on my Win 10 PC and Android phone.Router is BT Smart Hub (1).My plan is to move the Play 5 to my workshop and leave it and the Bridge working with Sonos 1.Then install Sonos 2 app on Win 10 PC and Android phone, then add the existing 2 x Play 3 and 1 x Play 1 plus a new Play 1 (to replace the Play 5) and new Roam to Sonos 2.This means I will have a hybrid setup with both Sonos 1 (via Bridge) and Sonos 2 running on the same networkMy questions are;Is this setup feasible, will Sonos 1 (via Bridge) and 2 run on the same network? Can I link the new Sonos 2 to the same music folders on my Win 10 PC as currently linked to the existing Sonos 1I understand that the two systems will be completely separate so how can I duplicate my Favourites and Playlists from the exis
Hi Gang!I see this was a topic a year ago, but the recommendations for chargers are no longer available with Amazon. My Sonos Move charge with the my USB-C chargers I have available, which are the MacBook Air charger and iPad Pro charger. I’ve read that it needs to be at least 45W, etc., so looking for actual brands you use that work, as I can only find extensive lists of adapters that DON’T work:).Please help! Thanks,
Hi Guys, I'm updating a friends Sonos products and just wanted to clarify that his ceilings speakers will connect to the amp via the banana clips and bee used via arc so sound the tv etc. If I then decide I want to listen to the Play 1 in another room I can then group the amp with them so it will play the same through said ceiling speakers? And then ungroup to use again normally with the tv?
I have a Sonos Beam and two Sonos One speakers that I have in surround sound mode. Sometimes I move the Sonos ones and put them on my back porch to stream music. I have to remove the surrounds from the Beam then pair the two Sonos ones in stereo mode. When I'm done listening I have to remove stereo mode from the ones and then reconnect into surround mode. It's really a pain to do all of this and takes quite a while. I would love if Sonos could add profiles to the Sonos app so that I could quickly switch my system configuration without going through all of the manual processes. Has any thought been giving to doing something like this?
Hi,I am very happy to be able to have repaired my Playbar’s and Connect GEN2’s broken optical ports with the methodology described by Dave J1, using Milliput and 90-degree Toslink connector. Thank you very much.
I am getting totally frustrated with Sonos. As a system, I think they sound and work great. Their ability to Integrate with third party music services is beyond horrible. It sort of reminds me of the old days with my Squeezebox (Logitech Media Server), The LMS was indeed powerful, but needed constant babysitting to do what you needed/wanted it to do and to keep it running, but it had a nice user community that were able to contribute. I don’t miss all the trouble shooting I had to do, but I do miss the support from the user community. So lets move on, and after this gets posted, I’m sure a representative from Sonos will kindly post a reply along the lines of “thank you for reaching out to us bla bla bla…./ we will forward that to our development team bla bla bla…./ we are currently looking into that, but have no ETA into your problem...bla bla bla. I’ve noticed that sort of recurring answer here on the Sonos boards, polite yes, helpful no. This Is a major frustration I have rea
I received my Sonos roam two days ago & I have been having numerous issues since getting it. This is my first time buying a Sonos product and I’m quite upset. My issues 1. First it wasn’t connecting to WiFi (it keeps getting stuck on the press play button to continue after it recognizes my phone). I let it go and then used bluetooth.2. Now, it’s not powering on or off. I’ve charged it for 6 hours, using multiple different types for charged and outlet. It’s still blinking orange. It’s not even turning it off. I’ve held the power button for 5-10 seconds, even a minute and nothing. It continues to blink orange. 3. It’s not getting out of this stage now. It’s just stuck blinking orange for the past day. No matter how much I charge or what buttons I press or hold. any idea?
So I bought a pair of Sonos Fives to upgrade my music and movie experience from a pair of Ones. I already have over 100 cd’s and had planned to use the Sonos Five line in to connect a cd player. I did a little bit of research and found out that if I choose to use my Fives as surrounds then the line in will be disabled, I’m confused and frustrated because Sonos NEVER made this apparent before. So now I don’t know where to go from here, I’d like to still add my cd collection somehow.
I have one Sonos One SL and two Play:5 gen 1 and so I use the Sonos S1 app on my iPhone. I now want to switch to a new wifi network but it seems to me that I cannot just choose that in the app. Is there an easy fix for this? Or do I eg need to reset speakers and/or delete and download app again? Thanks in advance
I’ll be setting up my WD My Cloud PR2100 this weekend. I’ve transfered all my files from my old-n-slow Mac to an external hard drive. I have a new laptop that I’ll be setting up this weekend. So my question is after I set up the Nas will I be able to transfer my music & photos over to Nas using the external hard drive? Or do I need to transfer them from ex hard drive to laptop first? And how does Plex come into play with the transfer?
Just bought an Arc and set it up. I was disappointed to see that I was only getting Dolby Digital (not plus) from my new Apple TV 4k (the new model) on iTunes movies with Dolby Atmos. When I switched to my Roku, the same movie showed Dolby Atmos on the app on my phone. The same happened when I switched to the Apple TV app on my LG. So, it’s just the Apple TV 4K that won’t give me Dolby Atmos. The “immersive audio” setting isn’t even present in the Apple TV settings. It’s not the HDMI cable. It’s new and capable of 18gbps and I swapped it to the Roku to test and was still getting Dolby Atmos from the Roku. This seems like it’s specific to the Apple TV. My TV model is the LG UK6570. I guess my question is: Is the sound I’m getting through the Roku really Dolby Atmos? The app says it is, but if I can’t get it through the Apple TV, then either the Apple TV has an issue or the app is lying and I’m not getting it at all. I’d hate to have to use my Roku or my TV apps just to watch movies to g
I realize that there are several threads similar to this, but none towards this exact European Samsung-model.I bought the Sonos Arc surround package a couple of weeks ago. Spent a lot of time trying to sync the audio with my LG 65” OLED B7V, but there was just no chance.Decided to purchase the new Samsung QE65QN95AATXXC hoping this would be a good match. At first it seemed to work perfect. But all of a sudden the sound cutting happend.Been in contact with both Sonos and Samsung supprt today. Neither could or were very willing to help.Sonos says it is a Samsung issue, and that they resolved it with firmware 1462.1, and that I had to contact Samsung for further assistance. Samsung said they didn’t know about a specific issue with this model and that there were no patches in their system to help me.My setup:Sonos Arc connected to Samsung OneConnect HDMI 3 (eARC) with Sonos HDMI-cable Nvidia Shield connected to Samsung OneConnect HDMI1 with new 8K HDMI 2.1 cableMy settings:eARC on Samsung
HiI have Sonos Amp (about 3 years old), connected to TV and two B&W Speakers with Wharfdale passive sub. Brilliant.I had a Samsung Smart TV, and ARC worked well.I now have new LG CX 65” TV, and have issues with ARC.No ARC Audio passes to the Sonos. I have to use “Internal Speaker” on the TV.Sonos is now off/standby, useless, and gathering dust… :-(It once worked after a power outage, some sequence of power-on may have coincidentally worked. This was only once, till I switched the TV off. After that, I had to go back to “Internal Speaker” on the TV again.I have tried many times, all combinations of settings.Sonos 2 App on iPhone fails to connect to TV.I did a Diagnostics = Ref 2071482316Please could you assist? Thanks
I’m finalising plans to replace my hifi with a Sonos Beam and Sonos One SL set up. I’ve read that combining these components as a 5.1 set up (bonding the speakers) means the Sonos Ones would not be accessible for Airplay if I just want to play music. My questions are:- In a TV surround setup with these components, if I Airplay music to the Beam (i.e., TV switched off), will it incorporate the Sonos Ones in playback? Given that surround uses the Sonos Ones in a different mode to achieve true surround, will this be detrimental to playback of music outside of TV use? Thanks for any advice.
Hello, we have a Youtube Music family subscription (since Google Music dissapeared unfortunately). When my wife uses the SOnos app on her phone to search for her playlists, she only sees mine. She has her own Youtube account, but for some reason Sonos only shows mine. How can I solve this?
How long until Sonos release an app for the Apple Watch to take advantage off ?
Sounds cuts off for like 5-10 seconds then come back on. It looks like its a common problem among arc owners. Is there a solution for this?Diagnostic code: 60793805
If you own a Sonos TV component such as Beam, Arc or Amp you’ll be familiar with the following screensaver and similar: ARC backdropThese components output a video signal to show that they're connected. Sonos should release an update that allows users to display ‘Currently Playing’: At a later date maybe even introduce Google Cast and Apple Airplay (Video)
I own a Playbase, two Sonos SL 1’s and a Move. When I remove the Move from its Charging Ring, it Powers Off and can not be turned back on unless returned to the charging ring. This occurs whether or not the Move is Grouped or Ungrouped to the Playbase in the System settings. When it is on the Charging Ring the Battery level indicates 100%. Is this a System setup issue or a problem with my Move itself?
Hey guys, sorry if this has been asked multiple times but I’m a bit of a noob when it comes to this kind of stuff. I have a PS4 + OLED55BXPTA + ARC. TV audio output is set to pass through and the PS4 is set to Bitstream (Dolby) but when Blu-ray audio plays, even if the track is 5.1, the app shows at as being Multichannel LPCM 7.1. Is this normal? Or am I missing something? cheers Steve.
Setup Sonos Arc with One SL and Sub Gen3 on my Samsung TV. Synced up perfectly with HDMI ARC connection and all working great. However for some reason occasionally after shutting down TV for the night, the next day the audio comes on and then stops for a second or so before starting again. This repeated continuously, unless I disconnect and reconnect the HDMI connection or reboot the Sonos ARC. rebooting the TV has no impact, so the problem looks like the ARC. Interestingly if I go to the Sonos Source I don't get any signal from the Sonos when the issue is present? However when it's all working properly, I get signal okay and see the Sonos curved lines screen. Diagnostics have been submitted on I'd 1258411113 Any help appreciated
If I connect my Roam to my mobile by bluetooth, should it be possible to group other speakers with the Roam and hear audio fed from my mobile through the Roam playing to the whole group (including the Roam)?
