I currently have an older tv, with a beam, 2 rear ones and a sub 5.1 setup. im now looking at upgrade my set up to an LG OLED CX model and make most of Dolby atmos , would then change my beam in the setup to an ARC, due to the 2020 LG missing many apps , I would then look to use my Apple TV 4K to stream most content. as the Apple TV will have to connect direct to the TV and not the ARC as the Apple instruction suggest , would this set up still be able to get full atmos from apps on Apple TV or will I have issues. I’ve tried to search this site and seen many missed messages and people having problems. has anyone else got this setup and have no problems before I commit my cash. many thanks.
My husband and I both have iPhones and the S2 app. We use the SAME log-in on both phones - same wifi network - HOWEVER, I see some speakers on my phone and he has the others showing on his phone. So basically, it it impossible to show ALL speakers on the network with the SAME log-in. What the heck is happening? Constant issues lately….HELP!
I’m so disappointed with my sonos roam battery life, I returned it today. I got about 2 hours playback before it died. Even on standby it drained 25% in about 12 hours. I’ve been waiting for ages to expand my sonos system with an outdoor capable speaker and thought this was the answer. I loved everything else about it, but it didn’t even last for one evening. Someone please let me know if this ever gets fixed, and I’ll consider re-purchasing.
This is a community question. My wife found an internet site, trees.fm, that offers forest sounds - birds chirping and such. I was able to add it via the URL to my “TuneIn”, but it would not load.I can accept that. Question: Does anybody have such a site on their Sonos? Don’t want rain, or oceans, or babbling brooks or running water.sorry for the goofy question. Thank you if you can guide me. Sonos S1 Play:1 Tracy
Hi there,I have an Apple TV HD (2021) that is connected to my Optoma HD146X projector via HDMI. I want to play video through the Apple TV, but would like to play the audio through my Sonos setup (a Sonos Five and a Sonos One). When i play video through the Apple TV, the sound comes from the beamer built-in speaker through the HDMI cable. I can't figure out where/how to connect the Apple TV to the Sonos for the audio playback. What does work, however, is to go to the Netflix app, and from there scroll down on the Apple TV remote and select the Sonos speakers for playback. If i then switch to any other app, these audio playback settings are carried over to this app, and audio is played through the Sonos speakers. If i then want to change volume, i have to go back to the Netflix app as that seems to be the only place where i can control the audio sound settings for Sonos.Does anyone have an idea what i'm doing wrong and how i can fix this? Thanks in advance!David
Hi I have got blown drivers in my play bar that’s just 7 years old can I change it?
I’ve got a Playbar, sub, and two ones. Will be setting this up for a house with 8 people. Planning on having a modem/router, and another router wired to this modem/router. My questions is, Would it be better to connect the Sonos system to the modem/router and have the rest of the people in the house use the other router as their wifi? or have people use the modem/router as the wifi and connect the system to the other router. I understand that either way, one must be connected to the same wifi as the system to control it, but from a network stability and less lag concept, wondering what would be better. Side note, the Playbar will be connected to a smart tv via optical cord. Planning on wiring the tv via ethernet to the internet that the majority of people will be connected to, so that they can use system when using tv, but when not using tv, only I will have control(since I will be connected to the wifi the system is connected to). ALSO, would having a Sonos boost work better than a de
I have a large living room with 2 chimney breasts. I want to mount 2 Sonos Ones.Should I put them on the chimney breasts (above TV and above radiator) or in the alcoves at the far ends?
I have a beam, sub and 2 one sl. They were working fine for almost 6 months. Yesterday I disconnected one One sl as a mistake. After plugging back in it didn’t add automatically to the home theater system.I have been trying all day to add it and no luck. I have reset factory setting on all system and start from scratch. Still same issue. I can add to the system everything but when I add my surrounds it gives an error “there was a problem adding your surrounds” and only one of them starts working. Any tips?
Is it possible to upload `Sonos music playlists from `Sonos App to my Garmin Watch Device
As I previously discovered in another thread, streaming to Sonos using Airplay 2 causes the existing Sonos groups to be immediately ungrouped.Assuming we have a hypothetical setup of 3 groups Sonos speakers, which have been grouped in the Sonos app, the following behaviour is exhibited:Starting an Airplay stream to Speaker A will cause speakers B and C to immediately ungroup. Playback will continue on Speaker A only. While Airplaying to A, grouping A, B, and C, will allow the Airplay stream to be propagated from A to B and C using the Sonos protocol so the stream stays in sync across all speakers. After Pausing or stopping for a minute or two, playing the Airplay stream will again immediately ungroup the speakers. The speakers must again be regrouped in the Sonos app. You cannot use multiple Airplay streams to stream to multiple speakers. For some reason, Sonos speakers will drift out of sync when doing this. The only way to use Airplay with multiple speakers is to regroup using the S
Hi all, Sorry if already asked and answered but I haven’t seen any clear statement about this.(do not hesitate to send a link else). Is that possible to use the Sonos Roam in hands free mode for phone calls, or even better, for visioconf with PC / Mac ? ThanksBen
My situation: I have a small home office where I spend 8-10 hours a day and, about two years ago, I purchased a Sonos One to best enjoy my favorite music, podcasts and also use it as general-purpose speaker (for YouTube videos, etc). Please note I don't do any "technical" audio or media work. What's wrong: The main reason why I bought a Sonos One was AirPlay 2 compatibility, which would allow me to use the Sonos speaker as a remote speaker for my MacBook over wired Ethernet (1Gbps). Wrong: AirPlay 2 works as long as you have something playing without interruption. As soon as you pause your music or any other kind of media, resuming after a few minutes just gets you a very long, or possibly infinite, silence. All I've gotten from Sonos support on this is "Apple's fault". After two years no software update on either side has improved this. Not even they very touted "Sonos S2". Even when it works, sync and delay issues abound. At some point I decided to just assume this speaker is only g
I was wondering what the latest news is on being able to hear BBC Sounds on my Sonos speakers.I don’t seem to be able to get that BBC service on my Sonos. It seems the comments answers to the FAQ’s are a year old.
My new Sonos Portable needs an overnight charge, is it normal that it should take so long? Also the charge dissipates quickly, no where near the advertised number of hours. Also it switches itself on when i use the app regardless of whether I plan to listen to it which probably does not help battery life. Do I have a faulty battery? Can it be programmed to only come on via its switch
Hi,My Roam stopped charging few weeks ago. I already tried a lot of charging cables and adapter (of course with more than the 1.5 A - my standard outlet has 5V and 2.4 A). The Charging sets did work at the beginning, but stopped working a weeks from nowWhen I plug in a cable, the LED is red. But even after days it is still red, and not able to start! When I use the Wireless Charging Stand, the LED is not shining at all. So it seams it is not charging at all. I try to start by clicking the button on the back for about 30 seconds or more. And nothing happens. No sound or anything. It really seams to be dead right now. (Even right after days of red charging LED) What can I do now? Any additional tips how I get it working again? Thanks
I have a pair of Fives, stereo paired, Trueplay tuned and in the horizontal position. I’m curious how the soundstage would sound if I were to change speaker orientation to Vertical. If I turn to vertical does that cancel my saved Trueplay setting so that when I turn them back to horizontal I would need to redo the trueplay? Or does it remain as it was?
This has probably already been asked, but I tried putting "The OS on this device is no longer supported" into the search tool and nothing came back so I’ll ask anyway…I still have a couple of old devices which I manage using the S1 app on my phone, which is an Android-based Moto G4, running Android 7 (kernel version 3.10.84).When I start up the Sonos S1 app, I get a banner at the top saying "The OS on this device is no longer supported", and providing a link to a Sonos article that says that the S1 app requires Android 5, 6 or 7.Any suggestions how to resolve this? I also have the S2 app installed on the phone, but even if I make sure that none of the S2 components are running (by rebooting the phone before running the S1 app) it still gives me the message. It’s not an entirely trivial error report, because it stops me from doing most of the things that I want to do, such as adding a radio station - that is not allowed by the app if your phone is deemed to be “too old” - even if it isn'
I am trying to buy a pair of flexson ajustable stands for Sonos oneSL speakers.but they are out of stock. Has flexson stopped trading.
On Prime Video today I played some content that has previously output Dolby Atmos (since May 11) on my setup (Fire Stick 4K; Sonos Arc w/One SL surrounds; Roofull HDMIswitcher; HDFury Arcana, firmware .84).The movies/shows are: The Aeronauts 4K (watched in Atmos last week) Carnival Row 4K (tested Atmos) Jack Ryan 4K (tested Atmos) Suspiria 4K (tested Atmos)Available audio is only Dolby Digital Plus. Sonos S2 app now displays Dolby Digital Plus 5.1 instead of Dolby Atmos.(Still getting Atmos music from the Tidal Music app on the Fire Stick 4K.)Can someone with same or other setupconfirm this?
I have the new Sonons Roam and over the weekend was able to operate it from my Iphone 12so I could open Spotify and play music or a podcast and then choose the Roam to listen to that Spotify stuff. Today I am working from home and the Roam is greyed out on the iPhone However it will play as airplay to the Roam The same Spotify account on my iPad will allow me to choose the Roam to play to. Sonos S2 app is the one on both bits of Apple kit.I have a Sonos beam attached to the TV for a soundbar and two Play 1 which are set as stereo speakers but I change them to Surround speakers for the Beam as and when a movie or gig is on.On Saturday night I had the Beam and Surround Sound Play 1’s and the Roam behind us when a gig was on TV and it all sounded brilliant. Its just frustrating that the Roam is now not showing on my iPhone app anyone got any hints
the question is about an unsual multiroom system. Is it possible to use some Roam as multiroom speakers with the units permanently connected with electricity ?
Anyone know why one particular Spotify playlist (not one of my own but another I follow) won’t load in the Sonos app. I get an “Unable to add songs to queue” message always. The playlist has over 4K songs in it - is that the reason? If so - why are there these limits? I can’t change it since its not my playlist and its one I listen to often - until now.
Have had Sonos for years, they have always been finicky with clumsy software, but the S2 app is an abomination.Wanted to add a Play One to my system, then out of blue it decides it can no longer find said system. After multiple attempts and resets I was thankfully able to set everything up, and since I use airplay I could then circumvent the horrid app and uninstall it.Hopefully I won’t have to deal with Sonos software again for a very long time, I was close to trashing everything if it asked me to unplug my router one more time.Great sounding speakers but Sonos you guys suck at software!
On my MacBook and iMac the Sonos Controller has a Sonos Playlist, but on my iPhone it only has Imported Playlist is this a difference between Apple OS and iOS or is there a way to add a Sonos Playlist to the Sonos Controller on the iPhone? Also, I have unintentionally deleted a file in Music on my iMac which had resulted in Sonos not being able to connect to my Music file. I have now created a replacement file and my Sonos controllers on the Macs recognise it and Sonos works fine accessing my Sonos Playlist. However, on my iPhone because there is no Sonos Playlist, just am Imported Playlist, I cannot access my music as the the Imported Playlist shows" No selections are available" Could you please advise how to solve this problem. Thank you.
