My system Beam (gen 1) Sub (gen 1) 2 x ERA 100 as surround speakers also a Move. Happy with the music playback of my system but thinking of 2x Sonos 5 as dedicated front facing stereo focused HiFi audio -a more conventional sound stage (If that makes sense)I assume this will work but then would i have to deselect the other speaker components (Beam and ERA 100s) manually each time i just want to play music, and similarly when operating as TV home cinema would i then need to revert to the Beam/Sub/ERA 100s each time?Incidentally (i know these questions are asked regularly) are the Fives that good? thanks
Hi. I am running two 16.1 systems in different homes - one was cloned from the other several years ago as Sonos had no other way to copy Playlists. I now want to move a couple of speakers from one home to the other. I havent upgraded anything, and the comments on the new App continue to tell me that is the right decision for me - Music Library, Playlists, ...and without a roll back plan when I discover the new system wont work with my currently fully functioning wireless I never will….. So now to the question. If i take these speakers (a PLay 3 and a Play One), that are running identical software, and using my 16.1 app on the Android that is now dedicated to Sonos, will it allow me to add them, or will I get the ‘you need to do a system upgrade”. Is there any genius out there that has either done this, or knows what might work. I sadly suspect the moderators will respond with a party line telling me that the new app is great, but nope, not until there is a roll back option. (
Not sure this exists but would really like to see it.Just be able to suspend, not disconnect or unpair, Era 300s and Sub from home theater setup. Mainly due at night when playing a game, it be nice to only have lower volume sound come from just the Arc Ultra.
Hello everyone,We’re building a new home and want to set up a good audio system in the living room for our main TV.The TV will be mounted on the wall under the stairs (green box in the picture), and the sofa will be positioned where the blue box is. Our current plan is to place a Sonos Arc Ultra under the TV, a Sub on the floor next to the TV, and two Era 300 speakers behind the sofa on stands. What do you think of this setup? Do you have any suggestions?Budget-wise, we can’t exceed this configuration. Thanks in advance for any suggestions TV Wall
I find it is impossible in practice to use the Beam (Gen 1) connected to my recently purchased LG OLED TV through the ARC socket. If I want to switch to Bluetooth headphones, the connection lasts for a few seconds before the Beam snatches it back. If, on the other hand, I connect my DVD player via HDMI, the TV tells me that I cannot use the ARC connection. The answer has been to use the optical out connection and everything seems to work perfectly. I can leave them all connected and they function when required. However, I obviously lose some functionality although I have been able to make the volume controllable by the LG remote. Do other people have the same experience? Who do I “blame” for this? Is it something about the Beam or is it that LG have not developed an ARC that functions with all possible connected equipment?
I'm using a Sonos Beam Gen 2 + Era 100 rear speaker. The placement of my speakers varies greatly during the day and night time. Because I move my speakers to the bed at night. But as you know, Trueplay is too loud. So I was always very psychologically uncomfortable at night because I think I'm hurting the person next door to me. So I've been exploring if there's a way to save Trueplay's multiple profiles and found it's not possible. But instead I found a great alternative! If you have another smartphone, before starting Trueplay, you can set the start volume of Trueplay through another smartphone!Trueplay sets the default volume value to 50 in the immediate message warning you that you will start the test tone. You can change this default volume as much as you want. Increase or lower it. So if you have to play Trueplay when the surroundings are noisy, you can raise this, and if you have to play Trueplay when you have to be quiet like me, you can lower this.In the case of Advanced Truepl
Is a SONOS Connect Amp serial 1603 a Gen 2? I am pretty sure Gen 2 starts after June 2015 so March 2016 should be 99% Gen 2 right?
Hi,Does anybody knows when it will be posible to pair two Sonos Ace with Sonos ARC? Regards.
I have the Samsung theframe tv and I used to see the volume control number where I am at. When I added Sonus arc to the system I no longer see the volume number and now I just have to rely on the sound I hear to control the volume. How do set it up so that I will see the volume control number again.
Hello, I tried looking for conversation that would help me place my ERA 300 for surround sound. I recently purchased a large package with the ERA 300’s as the surrounds. Where I will place them is in a big open room in which I can not place them at eye level behind the sofa. I have been directed by my significant other that she will not allow any stands behind the listining area and no movement of furniture. I have attached pictures of place areas on the wall where she is ok with having having them. They would be 8 feet high, with close to 3 feet above the speaker on the first ceiling shelf only getting higher from there. They would be close to 2 feet behind the listening area. I was going to order the angled wall mounts that can angle down to around 30 degrees and to the side 5 degrees. Do you all think this would be acceptable placement with my limitations. Any advice welcome that could help me with placement without upsetting the gf.
Hello, since the new update I can not create or save alarms.I use an iphone 14 pro max with the newest app updateand an old iphone 7 plus with an outdated app. I onlöy can add/update it on an outdated app (iphone 7plus) now...From the current app and main device (iphone 14 pro max) I can not edit or save it.Still can not create or save on both devices.
I ran Advanced Tuning on my Sonos Beam Gen 2 + Sonos Era 100 setup today. It changes the EQ quite dramatically. It is a very noticeable change and the sound becomes more balanced and better. The problem is that there is no change in the volume of the side firing speakers at all. When playing 7.1.4 Dolby Atmos test tones, the side channel is simulated through the sound output from the side firing of the soundbar and rear speakers, but the sound output from the side firing speakers is so small that it actually feels like 5.1.4.In order to feel like 7.1.4, the volume balance of the side firing speakers and the rear speakers should be adjusted by TruePlay, but the current TruePlay technology does NOT change the volume of the side firing speakers.Ideally, TruePlay would measure the distance between the soundbar and the rear speakers, and the farther away they are, the stronger the output of the side firing speakers should be, and the closer they are, the weaker the output of the side firing
Hi, I’ve just bought a pair of Era 300 speakers. I was surprised to notice that the official dimensions on your website are wrong! They are not 160mm high, more like 190mm. I know it shouldn’t matter as the space above should be open but some people might have to place them in a wall unit. ( I know it defeats the upward firing tweeter )
I am thinking of using a Move 2 to solve an outdoor movie scenario issue I have.I am using a 1080p projector, with a 30’ screen that is around 50’ from the PJ. The PJ has a 10W speaker, and that is lame, and no usable audio options except a 3.5mm jack. I did try a P5:Gen 1 at max volume, which was better but still insufficient. That was also located next to the PJ ie behind the audience, which isn’t ideal. My idea is to get a 3.5mm->Bluetooth adapter for the PJ, then stick a Move 2 under the ‘screen’ (its really the neighbor’s exterior wall). There is no power near this location. What is the range of Bluetooth in clear air, with little RF interference? How much louder will a Move 2 be than a P5:Gen1?(Yes, this is not an audio-grade setup, I am aware of the limitations of my scenario, I just need more volume)
Hi there, I have a Sonos Play 5 Gen 1 I got second hand and I want to connect my iPhone via wifi or a line in cable. I can’t add to wifi using the app because the speaker isn’t found and I can’t play through a line in cable as yet as I don’t know which one to buy that connects to my iPhone. Just hoping some music comes out soon! Hoping you can help
Hi guys. How come when i play music straight from say, apple music it seems alot quieter than if i play through the sonos app/apple music. I always control my music through sonos app due to this. Also will there ever be an addition to the app to allow me to control music with the sonos ace, just as i do with the rest of my products.
I am trying to use a Sonos Ray soundbar as the sound device on my personal computer. I have used both an internet cable to the computer as well as an optical cable. The Ray is shown as the main sound device & I can see the sound is playing but I cannot hear it. They are all on the same router.Whilst the Sonos Ray is recognised by my computer, my Sonos App on my mobile phone cannot find it.Can anyone give advice/help please?
With recent news of the "Pinewood" Streaming Box being scrapped, I have been considering what functionality of that product I was looking forward to. The video streaming services were almost irrelevant for me. What I was looking forward to was the box providing a gateway to wireless connectivity to Sonos Speakers for TV Audio, with HDMI Switch. My request is that Sonos focus on that. Forget the video streaming services. And focus on a hub that connects to TV via hdmi and provides functionality to wireless connect to Sonos Speakers, with multiple HMDI connections to run Games Console, 4K Blu- Ray etc through the audio. In my mind it seems like something so simple that would open a new world for Sonons Home Theatre. Please Sonos, I would love a Sonos TV Hub.
Had to change my router today so needed to add Sonos to network. Turns out my Connect Gen2 is too old to auto join so had to factory reset, now still can’t join network app keeps sending me round in circles.Sonos people, this is the latest in a long line of problems I have had in the last few months, please guide me through this latest one, or if anyone else can, I would be very grateful.
I have S2 Controller Version 16.1 build 78151030 on my iPad. When I use the app on my iPad, there appears a message that the iOS version on my iPad is “no longer supported”. However, it works perfectly. That’s good. On my Mac, I have S2 Controller Version: 16.6 build 83161210. When I attempt to use the app on my Mac, I does not work, but demands that I check for updates. I do not want to update on my Mac because of a long history of Sonos updates causing my system to fail and requiring laborious troubleshooting and repair. How can I get my Sonos S2 controller on my Mac to work again without risking the failure of my existing Sonos system? Thanks for helping if you can.
I ordered a pair of Sonos ERA 100 which I want to connect as stereo pair. I know using Sonos App, it can be paired to stereo. But I also want to use those pair with my MacBook and Sony Bravia 3. Is it possible to pair them with these devices using WIFI?To make it simple. Once I have paired both Sonos Era 100 using my iPhone App, will these speakers work as stereo when connected with MacBook and Sony Bravia 3 TV using WiFi?Moderator edit: Combined posts
Hello everybody, when I launch the app, select my speakers (2 Play5 Gen1 Stereo) and choose my TuneIn radio station and put volume to e.g. 5 as soon the music starts the volume goes up automatically to 25! Independent of last volume when turning off (at any other speaker of my system). When adding additional speakers it seams to refer to latest volume on that speaker.I read that there is no default volume in any settings. So how can I fix this anointing way to loud start up volume? Thanks from Munich 🤗
Ok, so right now I have two era 100’s and a sub mini and love the way they sound for music. Using them for movies is good too, but I’m considering adding a Beam (gen. 2) to add that extra goodness for watching movies. So the question is, once I have all 4 units (the sub mini, the beam, and the 2 era 100’s) configured together, is there a SIMPLE way to disable the beam when I just want to play music through Airplay (or the Sonos app)Alternatively, if temporarily disabling the Beam is not possible, is there a way, when I want to listen to music, to have both the beam and the era 100’s playing full stereo - meaning the era 100’s aren’t acting as ‘surrounds’ for playing music? Thanks for any info!
I would like to have the results from a search list items according to my preference. I’ve been using Sonos for many years because I could prioritized by music library, not paid streaming services.Searching from the home screen has music library as the LAST group!? Why Sonos? I can rearrange the home screen to have my music library first, how do I have my music library results first in search results.I know I can go to the music library first then search, but why make this an extra step. Why do you push streaming services first, because it is financially advantageous to you? Unless I am missing a setting, I see no way to change the search order results. Please give us music lover back the control to set our own priorities.
