Hello!I really struggled with the new Sonos app ((S1>S2 then dashboard change 2yrs back) Truly I was almost ready to dump my system and I’ve been with you guys since 2008.HOWEVER…I switched my network over to the 2.4 wi-fi on September 30, because I had a Wi-Fi outage and AT&T told me to split my Wi-Fi system and put Sonos on 2.4 versus 5.0. THEN… Not only did the app start to work better suddenly on October 2… I had an auto update of the app in the subject. And FINALLY!!! Sonos has made leaps and bounds improvement on the speakers and content controls!!! I haven’t used the whole app but BRAVO SONOS!!! Everything I would like to do may not be there but this was a HUGE Update to the Application on my iPhone.THANK YOU!!
Can someone tell why even SONOS is playing these gambling ads? You can't get away from them! You'd think Sonos would have enough conscience.
How does my wife get her youtube music and podcasts on our sonos system that I’ve setup in my name an my youtube music account?
There are other closed threads for this, most say disable battery saver. And I had been sure to do so.But just now I turned ON battery saver and my roam is happily sitting on the table playing even after 45 minutes off the charger.Go figure!Thought I should share since I was seriously annoyed by shutting down after half hour off base, it was always a mission just to turn it on again too.
Hi all. I have the sonos arc (not ultra), sub gen 3 and two ones for my rear speakers, I am wanting to get more from the speakers coming from the rears for my movies as I've just got a 4k player so would love to hear all the atmos effects behind me etc. I don't really listen to music on the setup just tv and movies so would it be worth upgrading the pair of ones to a pair of era 300s? Many thanks for any help and advice. Mike
Hi all Simple question, if I connect a CD player via say an Erra 100 with the adaptor cable, will this play through all my speakers on the system or just through the connected one.TIA
Hi everyone,we’ve been updating our showroom and wanted to bring in some background music to create a more welcoming atmosphere for customers while they browse. We’re considering Sonos because of the easy app control and flexibility, but we’re not sure which setup would work best in a medium-sized showroom with separate display areas.Has anyone here used Sonos in a shop, showroom, or similar business space? We’d love recommendations on which speakers to start with, how well they handle continuous daily use, and whether grouping different zones is simple enough for staff to manage. Any tips from real-world experience would be a huge help. Thanks in advance! Moderator Note: Modified in accordance with the Community Code of Conduct
Would love to see Apple Music lyrics in the app
I am experimenting with using YouTube music as my music app (since so many of my favorite artists are leaving Spotify). However, I noticed I can’t seem to set YouTube playlists from my library as my alarms, even if the playlist is public. I can find and play them in the main page, but not for the alarm. as a side note, I miss the old alarm functionality. So much nicer to find playlists
I'm considering buying a pair of Sonos Era 100s as the start of a home network. I'd like to be able to start music (i.e. from Spotify or BBC Sounds) without using the app. Is there an option to do this, for example with the touch controls? I'm aware this could be done with voice commands but this isn't my preference. As a comparison, my Bluetooth headphones have a touch command for "Spotify Tap" which starts music without using needing to access an app. Is there such a function or work around with Sonos speakers? Thanks
Hi - I’m Dan and I run Astiga, which is a streaming service for your own music. We recently shipped a new service into the Sonos platform which might be useful for anyone who wants to play their own, owned, music. Astiga streams your music library from cloud storage. This might mean streaming from Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox or the like, or streaming from your own storage self-stored on a NAS at home, or hosted somewhere. We support most of the big services plus some standards like WebDAV and SFTP (and de facto standards like S3) for the rest. This means, when you add Astiga to your Sonos network, you can stream a music library from Google Drive (say) to your Sonos speakers. Astiga takes care of all the streaming and library management. In addition to streaming through Sonos, you can access Astiga directly and sync your devices with Astiga for offline mobile playback, and much more.Astiga streams in native quality - whatever is in your storage is what gets streamed. We also offer po
Hello, we are new to buying Sonos and we are struggling with how many speakers, placement, and which speakers can or should I choose(Arc 100? Arc 300?. The room is a great room with very high vaulted ceilings(10 feet to 22) and is 38’ by 22’ approximately 832 sq feet. We will be placing a TV in the middle of the 22’ wall and are considering using a Arc Ultra sound bar under the TV. We only have sidewalls in the space and then back wall, which is 38 feet away from where the TV will be. In the perfect world, I would love to only have two speakers on the back wall(38 feet from the TV), as my wife really doesn’t want anything mounted on the wall or ceiling if possible. My question is, given this room configuration, if we purchase the ultra soundbar and did ARC 100 or 300, would these sound approprirately? Is the space too large just for a sound bar and 2 speakers? Ive read that 2-3 are needed for a size 1000 sq feet or more. Just so you know, we are not especially picky about havi
Hi, I'm trying to update network settings, and the app says it can't update the Sonos One speaker without a factory reset. So, I go through the reset procedure from flashing orange/white while holding the Join button until I get a flashing green.Should that then be complete? The light refuses to change from flashing green to white or, indeed, anything else…...and when I try to resume updating I get the same message that a factory reset is required. Any ideas welcome!
I have a 20 x 20 living room with a TV centered on front wall. I am looking to create a good (doesn’t need to be superb) surround sound experience by using the TV and in ceiling speakers. Would prefer to avoid using a soundbar and in wall speakers. Could add a Subwoofer if recommended. Does anyone have input on this setup and placement of the speakers in the ceiling. Should there be two in front and two in back? Any advice would be appreciated.
Hi everyonemy wish would Be to play my old vinyl turn table with my sonos speakers. what should I do?
Wouldn’t it be good if.. you could switch the soundbar (beam in this case) off when playing music?Ive a couple of one rears and a beam up front. For home theater it’s fine, but for music playback it puts too much through the soundbar. The ones sound far better as a stereo pair I think, even if you have the soundbar set on low. the app should have a preference setting, ie you can toggle what speakers are active for music and TV,, bit o’ refinement I think
Hi all, i have bought Sonos Arc ultra. I have been using only AirPlay so far. I have a standard projector and Apple TV. And I wanted to know if I get Sonos Amp would i be able to get Dolby Atmos output ? please note the projector doesn’t support HDMI Arc output. It’s just a standard HDMI connection
When trying to adjust the distance on surround sound feature, it will not allow you to adjust. It’s not highlighted like normally.
It is not a network issue. Have actually had a professional in to check everything out. New update has left app unable to function on Android devices. Apple iPad functioning very well. Why can't you people leave things alone. After last year's debacle, I thought all that crap was behind us, but once again. Final straw for me.
I’m just wondering why I went through the trouble of adding all of my downstairs speakers to a zone, but now I can’t add the sub to any speaker nor to the zone. This seems… silly. Please explain the logic.
In another post (which has been closed) the op asks about using a streaming player like wiim or eversolo with sonos. The op asks if apple music can be streamed lossless. A response post says that any sonos device with a line in can take 48bit music from the streaming device via the line in. Since my arc doesn’t have line in, i’m trying to wrap my head around this. I have arc and era 300s. So in I route the line in into one era 300s, it will play the music over the entire room? (arc and eras) or just the 300 (s). If the music is spacial audio (or atmos), will it play it as such?
I can no longer access Newstalk radio (Ireland) on my Sonos system. selecting the station either under Tunein or via Sonos radio just plays the intro adverts in a constant loop… FRUSTRATING!!
What I realized after playing the 7.1.4 test tone is that, despite the fact that the Sonos Era 100 has two tweeters facing opposite directions, it outputs sound from only one same tweeter when playing the side-channel and rear-channel test tones. The other one tweeter is not used... This is why playing the 7.1.4 test tone sounds like playing a 5.1.4. This is a waste of potential. If the side-channel and rear-channel were played from different tweeters, the channel separation would be much clearer. I suggest this. (The surround speakers of the LG S95TR and Samsung Q990 series soundbars also have separate tweeters for the side channels and rear channels.)
I have a 5.1 receiver with a connect amp connected to listen to music through the receivers speakers. I have a new kitchen with 3 dual channel ceiling speakers. I’d like to be able to listen to music through the existing 5.1 system as well as the new dual channel speakers.(x3). This might be a simple fix, but I’m not sure how to add these new speakers, as each speaker takes 2 channels for the stereo experience. (L n R x 2). Another receiver? Any help would be greatly appreciated. McMac
When watching Dolby Atmos videos, this configuration operates as 7.1.4, but the problem is that the soundbar's side-firing speaker output is so weak that it actually sounds like 5.1.4. https://download.dolby.com/us/en/test-tones/dolby-test-tones_7_1_4.mp4In fact, when playing Dolby Atmos 7.1.4 test tones and listening to the side channel test tones, the side-firing speakers are so weak that the side channel sound sounds like the rear channel sound. Not only the test tones, but also when you watch various movie contents, if you place the Era 100 behind the sofa, the sound that should be heard from the side does not come from the side but rather sounds as if it is coming from the rear. Therefore, I have the following request to the sound engineering team: When combined with the Era 100, please increase the volume output of the side-firing speakers.
