I have a TCL QM8K and for the first months with my setup everything was working fine. I have the Beam Gen 2 connected to the ARC port of the TV and Play:1 as surround speakers. I was able to play movies with AAC 5.1 or 7.1 with no problem. Now the movies with AAC only plays as PCM 2.0. I have no idea if it was an update that caused this. I even downgraded my TV OS to see if that was the problem but it wasn’t. I have a huge catalog of movies and a lot of them are only in AAC multichannel. I don’t know what to do.
I'm far, from expert on TV setups but I'll take a first shot at this.
Unplug power to the soumdbar and TV for a minute and power them back up.
Check the TV settings to make sure the output is set properly. See the problems section here

It could be by a recent firmware update I suppose or only a internal error, so as Stanley said restart your TV and soundbar and if the error persists try to again restart all and change the HDMI cable you are using.
Some TVs change the output when is aac for pcm or dd2.0 or something similar, try to set the configuration to pass-through and deactivate any custom setting (as BRAVIA Sync in Sony or LG Sound Sync in LG, maybe your TV have something similar).
I hope you found this helpfully.
