Hi, im looking for a good sounding, small-ish size, do it all type of speaker. A few I was looking at were the sonos play 5, bluesound pulse 2i, denon heos 7, Naim mu-so Qb. Does anyone have any experience with any of these, or other suggestions that I should look at? I'll be using the speaker mainly for music and movies, with heavy metal and edm being my go to genres. My budget is around $800, but I can spend a bit more if something has killer sound.
I would like to stream using Roku but then have Sonos deliver the music over WiFi. Will the following work: 1) connect Roku 2 analog audio out to Sonos:Connect audio in; 2) connect Roku HDMI out to TV; 3) add a Sonos Play speaker(s) and connect it to the Sonos:Connect using the Sonos app. Will I be able to control say, Spotify through the TV and have the music stream to the Sonos Play speakers?
Hi, I have a stero pair of play 1’s in my bedroom but one of them keeps disconnecting? They were both connected wirelessly so I connected the one that disconnects with a wired connection through a home plug and Ethernet cable which worked after switching the speaker off and on again but it disconnected again. Any help would be nice, diagnostic code is 809052905.
Hello i want to connect my phone to my Beam using Bluetooth but it doesn’t seem to work regards Dennis
Is there any assurance if I purchase a Play 5 from Sonos it will last more than a year? Has something changed in the design since 2018?
Hi all, I have a question about Sonos and its delay from sound processing. I want to run a VR system through my PC, but use Sonos as a surround sound for my VR sound. My system will be PC->HDMI to TV->optical to Playbar (including two play 1 rears and a Sub). The PC will also have a couple inputs running into the VR headset. I want people to watch what is going on in VR on the TV, but have the player fully immersed in the surround sound. However, I am worried that Sonos's sound processing will cause a delay from the source (VR on the computer) and the game sound coming through the speakers. Does anyone know if this system would work seamlessly, or if it's something I should avoid?
Is there a way to reboot speakers besides unplugging? You used to be able to go to their IP and reboot from there but that was disabled. I have issues from time to time (individual speakers cutting out) and think a reboot would help from past conversations with tech support, but cannot do that now. Unplugging is not reasonable given where some of my speakers are located.
Hi, anyone know if 5G will work on Sonos? Thanks
Hi, If you have been following the lawsuit between SONOS and Denon related to the HEOS line of Denon products, you are probably aware that SONOS won two major court victories recently. The result so far has been that Denon has removed certain functionality from their App. Not surprising, Denon is instructing their customer service people to tell the public that certain functions were removed from the App due to 'market research'. This removal impacts me because years ago, it would seem I bet on the wrong horse. When I was setting up my house for whole home audio I went with HEOS rather than SONOS for one simple reason, I believe the HEOS speakers sound more in line what my use and taste in music. The SONOS line is setup more for treble and vocals whereas the HEOS line is setup more for raw volume and heavier bass. The HEOS App was always crap but worked most of the time, now it is kinda useless and is making it difficult to use the speakers. I find myself in the predicament
Hi I have Sonos one Gen 1 and I'm planning to buy thengen two. I wanna keep both of them in my room on the night stand each side and I was wondering if I airplay music from my phone can I airplay it both simultaneously or does it need to be both gen1 or gen 2. And also if I ask one of the assistants to play music does it play on both or just one ?
A best buy employee "sold" my wife a Play:1 and told her it would work with her phone but the only way to use it is through the sonos app but that gives errors so I set it up for all of the music on her phone but now the music constantly skips the songs partly through the song. I read that the Sonos one works directly with airplay. My question is can a sonos one be paired with a play:1. If not I was sold a useless brick.
I just let Sonos update on my two desktops. The option to rename a speaker in Settings has disappeared. I do not own a mobile device. Can I still rename speakers from the PCs?
I can’t connect my wireless mic to the speaker via the laptop. I have a presentation tomorrow am and really need help. My laptop is connected to the sonos speaker but only plays music. My mic is connected to the laptop but no the speaker. How do I make the two read each other? Help help help
We have a Sonos system in our home and love it. However, there are two accessories that we would like to see added to the Sonos system. We would purchase in short order if they were available. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. - Outdoor speakers: Weather proof, wireless speakers that resemble granite or rocks. (Note: There are speaker solutions on the market but it is my understanding that they only support Bluetooth and can't be controlled by the Sonos app. - Wireless headphones: A set of wireless headphones that support streaming through the Sonos system that also support the features of the standard wireless headphones/headsets available on the market today. Anyone know of a solution to this issue? Thanks.
Hi guys. Thanks in advance for any help advice... I have three sonos speakers.. 1x old play 5, old play 3 and a play 1 (first gen not alexa enabled etc). my ipod touch I was using for my sonos system recently died so I bought another.. Then when re-installing the sonos app it said that ios support was going to be stopped soon (does anybody know when?) and a workaround was to use airplay.. I tried this via the ipod and it said that none of my sonos speakers were airplay enabled/compatible etc... I did a little bit of googling and wanted to check the following.... If I buy a newer sonos one which is airplay compatible then it would use the software to tether my other older speakers so they would all play.. Sounds a bit hit and miss. Will this be reliable? Obviously if its a software update that will take out ios support I could defer it as long as poss but with a new device (ie:- my new ipod) you have to download latest sonos software from app store... Any advice appreciated thanks guys
I received a Play 5 that appears to be "old". When was the first Play 5 manufactured? Can I tell from the serial number the date of manufacture? Thanks.
Hi i want to buy a Sonos speaker to my TK800. How can i connect them to avoid an imput lag ?
zp120 Mute button lite, cant get lite to turn off. Music being sent to sonos box using sonos app on phone, but no music coming out. https://content.abt.com/documents/20166/ZP120_Setup_Guide.pdf thanks.
I’m experiencing sound bar distortion in the bass, lower frequency spectrum, when watching TV at low to medium sound level. The soundbar is connected via optical. Any thoughts?
Hello, So I was moving and during shipping my Play 5 got a slight puncture on it's super thin grill and I was like well maybe support can help me out with this i am very OCD and this bothers me a lot... Here's the damage So I write them a message and they are like we will see what we can do for you and it turned out what they can do is charge me 389$ (Price of the refurbished model on Sonos store is 399) and replace the unit. I am like speechless is this the level of support we can expect? I guess don't ever damage your front grill friends or you will be faced with a choice to surrender your speaker and get 30$ discount. Thanks Sonos Support Team.
I have two play 1 speakers and just got a third delivered. I specifically went for this model because I have absolutely ZERO desire to have voice assistants listening throughout my house but when I opened up the latest box I was shocked to see that it is now equipped with google assistant. Can you confirm that there are no microphones in this speaker?
I was told at Best Buy it would work with a optical cable with my Connect. So far, just frustration. The Sonos website lists my exact model that should work using an optical cable. Appreciate any help. Thank you.
I'd like to consider a sonos One for a wireless speaker in my studio apartment. I can't exactly find an answer that you can use it as an external speaker for a macbook. Basically I want to be able to play things that I'm either watching from either a web browser like chrome, a file, or film editing software
My problem with Sonos One gen 2 is connection (Airplay) between my Macbook Pro and the Sonos drops if inactivity occurs. For ex, play video on YouTube, or iTune. Pause it for a while 15s, 20s or longer. Depend on how long I pause, when resume, audio only resumes after 30s, 60s or more, or never. Have to switch back and forth to let connection established again. If there is no inactivity, I may be to play it a whole day; rain or shine, no problem. I had chance to have phone support, as suggested regarding to support ref. number 00810969. But, they could not solve the problem. I dig the google a little more. Found this on google.https:// https://en.community.sonos.com/troubleshooting-228999/speakers-cutting-out-after-airplay-2-update-6809429 Looks familiar? I might be wrong, but it seems that Sonos' never addressed the issue completely. Honestly, I like how Sonos sounds, so returning it is my last resort. Is there anyone out there got the issue like me?
Play 5 volume fades in and out???? Any one else had this problem or can recommend a fix ? It’s 4 years old and up until 2/3 weeks ago it’s been rock solid. Thanks in advance for any help.
