I have installed the new Roam and have noticed that when used with my other Sonos speakers the volume is low. I use the alarm every day and it is set to 30%. This is fine with all other grouped speakers but the Roam is considerably quieter.

I have a Sonos Roam which is want to use as both a portable speaker but also as an integrated room music device. I have the wireless charger too.The roam turns itself off or goes into sleep mode after a certain time, which means it will not react to voice commands. When I am using it as a room music device I want the speaker to stay on, and even when on the wireless charging stand still turns off. The only way I have managed to get it to stay turned on it to connect via the charging cable. Is there a way to turn off the sleep function so I can use the wireless charging station when using as a room music device? Mod Edit: changed “Sonos Move” to “Sonos Roam” for clarity.

I’ve had my Sonos Roam and wireless charger for about a week. It’s been in my office the whole time. Today, I noticed there was no longer a magnetic connection between the Roam and the wireless charger. Why would this happen?

Hello,I currently have a Sonos Arc for my TV and im in love with it.I would like to know if one of the speakers would be suitable for a computer, either for video conferences, listening to music, videos and playing games. Can I use a 20 watt apple usb c charger to charge roam or could it damage it?

Just bought a Sonos Roam and unable to play my tabata app without using Spotify. Can anyone recommend an app that will play on its own. Thanks. 

Hi all had the Roam very pleased however I can get it to transfer the music it is playing to the nearest speaker I have two beams but are  connected to play 1 which are not supported is that my problem.Also I have a iPod classic 1tb which I was hoping I could use a Bluetooth transmitter to Roam but the ones I have are older and will not link is there a version Bluetooth transmitter needed the highest I've seen is  3.1 or is the fact with a phone you have a visible named connection to link with, I'd love to try the more expensive Bluetooth transmitter for iPod but at £80 reluctant to spend that much as it's only the Roam I want it to really work with cheers Phil.

Hi. Picked up my roam last week and I keep it constantly on my Qi charger. I ask Alexa to play music for maybe 20 mins every weekday and longer on weekends (remotely). ‘Will I degrade the battery/reduce the life expectancy’ of the Roam if I keep it constantly sat on a Qi charger in standby mode?I have read conflicting answers to this question, but is there somebody from Sonos who can provide an accurate answer. Thanks

Hi - I’ve been using the above combination, and only have a few hours listening to the Roams as a stereo pair. The battery life has seemed pretty poor, but after leaving them overnight on the Livboj chargers starting at about 30% charge, this morning both were dead with no charge. The amber light was flashing, showing a charging fault. I’ve charged them for the past 4 hours on USB, and they’re now showing 49%. I’m resuming wireless charging which seems to be working for now.The Livboj is rated at 5W, the same as the Sonos charger, and I’m using them with an IKEA Askstorm 40W charging brick. They are both sitting perfectly centred on the charging pad.Has anyone had similar experiences or can anyone explain why they’re charging so slowly if at all?  Thanks.

Having replaced a Bose wireless speaker with the Roam, one feature I’m really missing is that the Bose would announce remaining battery life when powered on via the power button.  This served as a useful reminder that when I’m finished using it (or asap) I should place it on the charger.

I recently received my Roam and fired it up. Sound is good for what it is, no complaints there. However I have to add my voice to the increasing complaints of the device turning itself on whenever the Sonos app is accessed, which subsequently drains the battery rendering it unusable until battery is charged for about 5 minutes (maybe more).  Advice of “just leave it on the charger” doesn’t work because it doesn’t come with the charger!!!! Said charger costs extra and is of course out of stock currently. Moreover, a simple phone charger (which charges my equally-if-not-more-capable Bose Soundlink Mini) charges the Roam at a snail’s pace!  Sonos you’ve dropped a bit of a clanger here - I would absolutely recommend a) not selling this device without its native charging dock b) NOT having the device turn itself on whenever the app is accessed.  I think a software update is needed quickly to prevent the above. Lastly, turning the roam on and off requires placing equal pressure on the front

This is a very unscientific analysis of the Roam battery drain after 3 hours of use.  Roam placement: Outdoors in partly shaded area Roam Mode: WiFiMusic source: SiriusXM Watercolors Jazz  and R&BOutdoor Temperature: 74 degreesBattery initial charge 100%Battery After 3 hours of use: 74%Average Battery Drain: 100 minus 74 = 26 divided by 3 = 8.67. 100 divided by 8.67= 11.53 hours estimated use.As I said in the beginning this  analysis has no basis in science, but can be used to suggest that the Roans battery use is approximately 10 - 11 hours under the conditions set forth. Of course your use may be equal or less. I doubt it would be better?

My Sonos roam will connect and play music on its own, but when I try to group my kitchen Sonos and it together it won’t play music!! You can stop and start music from either one but it won’t play, and vice versa when I play the kitchen Sonos then try and group the roam. Any help would be much appreciated.

I purchased a Samsung TV Q90T with a Sonos ARC & surround sound speakers in November 2020 & have had nothing but issues.  For the first two months I had audio cutting out.  Samsung & Sonos finally got it figured out.  I was also experiencing Lip Sync issues & that appears to be resolved.  Sometimes I notice a delay, but not like it was.  This morning my TV was working fine & I turned volume down & when I tried to turn volume back up my surround sound stopped working.  Now I’m getting an error message saying Sonos Arc HDMI 3 No Signal.  I have disconnected my DVR, Wifi router, TV from ARC, & surround sound speakers & rebooted & refreshed my TV to no avail.  When I called Sonos Support their hours are Monday through Friday….REALLY?? I sent the CEO an email & asked why don’t they have support people available on the weekend when most people are at home on the weekend watching their TV’s.  I’m seriously considering taking my Sonos back & getting

If I limit the max. volume in the Sonos app for the Roam, like setting 50 %, the system sounds for on, off and bluetooh occurs still at 100 %. They should also be synced to 50 % percent.So if I set the Roam to max volume pushing the buttons on the Roam. I hear the music at 50 % and the system sounds are much to loud at 100 %. Any other user with the same issue or a solution?

According to the setup instructions the Roam has two modes to save energy.One is a long five second hold of the power button which requires the same power button to switch on. The other is to briefly press the power button and when you want to power up the Roam next time to press any button on the unit but this does not work for me as the only way to wake the unit is to use the power button. Had anyone had any luck with waking the unit using the play/volume buttons?

It seems that I’m not the only one the caps blown on the power board of the Play 3 with the terrible plastic burning smell..Any replacement power board kit out there?I think the product should have been recalled if not already had happened. thanks.  

If I listen to the Move while it's on its charging base/ ring is the speaker running off its battery or from the power being supplied by the base? 

Hi All,Just wanted to post my experience as I just received my roam yesterday, and finally got it setup so I can use it as a portable bluetooth speaker outside, at the beach, golfing, etc... the sound quality is awesome and it gets quite loud, is very clear and has great range, great sound out of the little package! I currently have an S1 system of AMP, Play3, Play5, and I have zero plans to upgrade these to S2 as we all know these speakers are not cheap, and I'm not really a fan of this approach they took.  I'm an embedded engineer and programmer, and they could have done better.  Already discussed heavily here on these forums, so I'll leave it at that...The ROAM won't do anything until you 'set it up in a system' using the SONOS app.  The setup that worked simplest for me was install the S2 app on my phone (after removing S1 app, or use another mobile device that never had any Sonos app), AFTER unplugging ALL of my S1 devices so they are completely powered off.   You CANNOT have any

Got a new Sonos Roam and added it successfully into my Sonos ecosystem however on the S2 app while I can select music to play on the roam (and it does) the app shows “no music selected” even though music is playing. This also means I can’t control playback. I can group the speak successfully and then control the music, it just doesn't work when it's just the roam.  Another minor bug is that under Settings, Sonos Roam, EQ, Loudeness isvalways shown as off even though it's enabled. Toggling the switch confirms this. 

Had my new Roam on a QI charging pad for twelve hours now - noticed orange light was flashing but it’s not even warm so not sure why. Switched it on and it’s still only on 53% charge??

Bonjour,je n’ai pas exactement le même problème que tout le monde avec ma TV Samsung, mais je ne peux plus rien mettre en groupe, en gros, je ne peux pas mettre d’enceinte qui diffuse le son de ma TV (en HDMI Arc ou même en optique) car le son saccade, soit sur l’enceinte annexe, et parfois même sur les 2 enceintes dès qu’elles sont couplées.A noter qu’en diffusion normal de musique je n’ai pas du tout ce soucis :) J’ai cru voir dans un forum qu’il y avait une bêta qui corrigerait peut être ce problème ? NB : le couplage se fait avec une Arc, une Play:1 et une Play:3J’ai un Sonos Boost juste à côté de ces enceintes.

Few days ago I got my own Sonos one …..but I cannot get its guide with it ….is there anyone who give me the guides ….that how to connect them with the other devices…..

I have 2x Sonos Ones in a Stereo Pair in the kitchen, its only a small room so 3.5m x 3.5m and it sounds good but I am looking to expand the Sonos system to upstairs and I am thinking of moving the One’s upstairs and splitting them so I have one in the master bedroom and one in the guest bedroom to maximise sound.I have been reading online and it says the Stereo pairing is really designed for home theatre so presumably I would better off splitting the Ones separately and sticking one in each bedroom? Bedrooms are 3.5m x 5m each.Would probably look at getting a Sonos Move for the Kitchen which we can take into the garden if needed as kitchen music is not needed all that much. Thanks
