Hi, can I connect my tv to a sonos play5 first genetation with an audio cable?many thanks
I was gifted a Sonos Era 100 on my birthday. I already owned a Sonos One SL. I was already disappointed to find out that I could not pair them together, and could therefore not use them as TV speakers. I understand the reasoning for this, but it’s still annoying. Now I’m having this problem where I can’t even get them to play music at the same time. In the Sonos app I select them both to play at the same time and it says: ‘Era 100 + 1’ or One SL + 1’ but the ‘+1’ speaker never actually plays anything. Everything in the app indicates that both speakers are playing (the little sound waves beside them are both moving) but sound only comes out of one of them. Both speakers are fully capable of playing independently and if I change which one is the ‘+1’ I can change which plays music.I have been able to fix all this temporarily by plugging out both speakers and plugging them in again, but they soon revert to this problematic state.Does anybody know why this is happening? I’m getting pretty a
Hello.Upgraded recently to Arc Ultra with a pair of 300’s.Today I’ve removed from their place on shelves the two older Play 5’s to sell.I found the power cable on one of them to be incredible sticky. No idea why, both speakers are in the same family room. Nothing anywhere near the speaker to cause a residue to build up on the cable. It really is quite sticky to the touch along the whole length. Certainly not something I’d be happy selling to someone else. Both speakers have been fabulous and are still in terrific working order. I’m going to miss the sound quality as the 300’s, whilst brilliant for Atmos, are not as ‘warn’. Anyone come across this before?Any cleaning solutions you can advise to get rid of this?Cleaning solution you’d advise for the Play 5 speakers just to make sure they’re at their best for the new owner?
First let me say that I am technically very adept, having been a DJ and software engineer. I have installed or upgraded many wired (and more than a few wireless) sound systems. In November replaced my old Definitive wireless system with 3 100’s (2 of which are a speaker pair.) Also purchased the Pro-Ject-1 turntable.Wow, what crap this is. Oh yeah sounds great when they work. BUT...speakers drop off, or the sound goes out, OVER AND OVER. There is NO interference, the speakers are all close or even in the same room as the router. Last night we had a party, and just as people were arriving, BOOM, the Sonos app/Spotify once again could find no products. After unplugging everything (including the router) and firing them all up again, it sort of worked, but the speaker pair was gone and I had to set that up again. Anyone without the technical proficiency of myself would have been at their wits end. I got it work (again, this happens just about every other day) but I was so angry that
I have a pair of Era 100’s set up as a stereo pair. I have a CD player which is connected to the line input on the right ERA100. When playing CD’s the left ERA100 suffers momentary loss of signal. If I connect the CD player to the left ERA100, the right one suffers momentary signal loss. I have replaced the cable and tried another CD player and also tried a hard wired connection from my iPad. Again, no matter what the source, the transmitted channel suffers losses when using the line input. There is no problem at all if I connect my iPad via Bluetooth, nor is there any problem playing radio or Amazon music.
my speakers inform the era 300 in an unsupported orientation
Why can’t I use separate music on different speakers in different rooms? Had it before new update. What gives?
Hi,Can the SUB gen4 or the SUB gen3 work with Sonos Era100 Pro speakers? And if so, can they connect wirelessly?
The company told me that they do not provide replacements. Does anybody had some advice?
Why doesn't Sonos play music locally when the Internet (WAN connection) is down? Yesterday our Internet connection was down all day. We were surprised to find Sonos was totally useless despite our local LAN and WiFi working fine. To be clear: we play content almost exclusively from local libraries and those devices were working normally the whole time. I’d appreciate someone from Sonos answering here. Support just told me via chat that this is expected. I really hope that’s incorrect - it’s pretty unreasonable to require Internet at all times even when playing local content. Also, since our Internet connection came back I've had to restart all of the Sonos players - some multiple times - to get them work right again. Just more continued instability since the app update.
Do I need to connect my play one only to wifi can I do it though my phone only
Hi. I have a pair of Era 300s in a room about 6m by 4m. I use for music only, currently. They fill the room adequately. The sound is nice - warm, fairly detailed, plenty of bass. I don’t need more bass but considering a sub mini to allow the Eras to concentrate on the trebles. I have heard mixed reviews of adding a SM. Would be keen to hear views on whether it makes much difference to the delivery of the mid and high end through the Eras. Thanks.
One of my Ones suddenly has no white light and has lost connection to my wifi.I cant get it to do anything.Any options for me.
There is already a new update for your speaker. Last one 28.1.2025But it seems to be just Security improvements 🤷 Current System Version83.1-61240Release Date: 02/04/2025In this update:Security Improvements
Finally got my pair of Fives and Stands. Absolutely fantastic. Whatever I throw at them, Rock, RnB, Pop, Jazz, Classical. Just brilliant. So much power yet so much subtlety.I went for these stands at about half the price of Sanus etc and I am delighted with them. Premium look and feel (more so than my Sanus stands on my Ones). The bracket holds the Five securely. Impossible for it to fall off. No rattle whatsoever. All the screw holes etc really well machined. Look really nice too with a subtle metal ring detail at the top of the column. Highly recommend: https://www.wilko.com/en-uk/avf-white-sonos-five-floor-speaker-stand-2-pack/p/0633901 I'm finding the app pretty much fine these days too. Quick tip for anyone who hasn't found it yet... If the app isn't grouping when you try, open up the web app and group there. That always works for me. Then I go back to the Android app.I have a shortcut to the web app on my phone, so it's a very quick process. If you use Google Chrome on Android, j
This isn't something that's not already known, but I just wanted to share how all the problems I had with my Beam (plus two era 100 surrounds) very regularly disconnecting from wifi (BT router) went away when I set a static IP for the Beam on the router. It really wasn't difficult to do (once you access your router's admin page) and has been transformational in resolving this issue. If you're having this problem, I really recommend 'fixing' your Beam's IP as static not dynamic (DHCP). It has also resolved an issue with the Sonos app losing access to Amazon music - I think the Beam dropping messed up the app too.(Note: As well as the Beam, I have 2x ERA 300s in another room and the 2x ERA 100 surrounds (on the Beam), but I didn't fix the IP address for any of these - I think the Beam needed it because it was on the busier 2.4 Ghz channel on the router and my other Sonos speakers connect to 5 Ghz.)
I am about to connect my ERA300 via the uSBc input to a record player phono out. Does this mean I cannot also stream music to it from other devices without a full reset?
Hey everyone!I just got my first Sonos speaker and I'm super excited to dive in. For those who've been using Sonos for a while, do you have any tips for getting the best sound setup? Any favorite features or playlists you recommend? Thanks a bunch!
Hi, I have a 4 pieces play 5 gen 1 ( with 2 in stereo, line in on left play 5) livingroom, kitchen 1x play 5, garden 1x play 5.1 x play 3 bathroom, 1x play 3 workingroom. The sound from Turntable on the stereo 5’s in livingroom is ok , but I on All the other devices sound is poor, no sounddepth . would a Sonos Connect( or AMP even with no external speakers attached) as line in for Turntable be a improvement on sound quality on my devices in the other rooms?
Hi, is there a way to connect a sonos one to a samsung videoprojector via a LAN cable or HDMI adaptator? or bluetooth but i don’t see bluetooth on the sonos one…thanks for your feedback
I see huge amount of posts about Sonos 2 Gen 2 wifi breaking irrecoverably. Support looked at diagnostics and verified just wifi is broken on mine (for no reason). Is anybody considering legal action against Sonos for this as it is so widespread?
Trying to set up my play one, but it won’t recognize it. I have done everything. When I click on the reboot, it doesn’t provide a link. Any answers?
how to connect sonus one SL to android phone
I use a Sanos Era100 for my PC sound. When switching screen or even low sound results in the speaker switching off/standby mode type. Is there away to just have it on as normal all the time? Thanks,.
Good afternoon. I have a Sonos Move that just stopped working. Has this happened to anyone? Sonos tells me that it is out of warranty, but it is incredible that such an expensive device stops working when the warranty ends.
