Era 100 Stereo Pair, momentary music drop outs on the transmitted channel when using line input.

I have a pair of Era 100’s set up as a stereo pair.  I have a CD player which is connected to the line input on the right ERA100.  When playing CD’s the left ERA100 suffers momentary loss of signal.  If I connect the CD player to the left ERA100, the right one suffers momentary signal loss.  I have replaced the cable and tried another CD player and also tried a hard wired connection from my iPad.  Again, no matter what the source, the transmitted channel suffers losses when using the line input.  There is no problem at all if I connect my iPad via Bluetooth, nor is there any problem playing radio or Amazon music.

Try setting the Audio Delay setting higher under the Line-In settings for the Era 100s in the Sonos app.

Many thanks for that information.  I wasn’t aware of that parameter.  Changing it from the minimum 75mS to the maximum 150mS solved the problem.  The line input now plays perfectly through both speakers.  Once again - Many thanks!

@Steve and the Beagle

Just to add…

The second option that could solve the issue is „audio compression“ option. You will find it in settings… general settings. Switching from automatic to compressed will compress the wave audio format but also lower audio quality. Sometimes under bad wifi conditions you may have to use both options, compression and a higher delay.
