Hi All Im looking at getting the new Sonos Era 100 and im new to all of this.I will set it up using my phone but my question is can it work from a set devise like a firestick, android box etc so when im out the Wife and the kids can still ask Alexa to play certain things. What’s the best way that i can make it housefamily friendly. Like i said im new to this and looking at getting the house eventually Sonos throughout. Thanks
EDIT: I proofread the text, but obviously not the title: “Peel SONOS lettering off Roam grille?” First, I’ve been looking through the forums here and have seen all kinds of issues with the Roam, and I’m happy to say that mine has been working flawlessly. I’m pretty thrilled with it, and I’m thinking about getting a second to stereo-pair .Forgive my possibly sacrilegious question, but I have to ask it:I want to peel off / remove the white S O N O S lettering from the front of my Roam unit. Why, you may ask? I have this thing about labels. This one is pretty nice, as they go, but in the long run I’d rather not have to see those white letters every single time I glance at the speaker. Some of you will understand.Has anyone attempted this? I don’t want to screw up the grille appearance in any way. Not sure if they were glued on, and what the cosmetic result would be after an attempt to surgically remove them.Any feedback would be appreciated, even if you’re reading this months from now. I
Hi folks,I’m thinking about buying a Beam with a pair of Fives as surrounds. For TV, this should work wonderfully. For music, seems I have two options — (1) pairing the Fives as a stereo pair which would sadly take a lot of effort switching back and forth between the Beam system (for TV) and stereo Fives (for music) and (2) keeping the Fives as surrounds but setting them to “Full” surrounds (rather than “Ambience”) for music. I’m inclined to go with the latter approach which should allow me to switch between TV and music without too much effort. Any of you has any experience with this set-up? Wondering if it would sound funny (for example, the more powerful Fives in the back). Thanks in advance!
I am thinking of installing ONE at A business.I have been down to the customer and tested with a sonos on their network but I am unable to connect to it.They have a network with many wireless routers. I have understood that it does not work with Wifi and must go wired. After resetting the device, it appears in the App but won't connect online, I'm on wifi myself with the Sonos app.My question is:To connect sonos in a typical company network, is there something I have to do to IT, open some ports or such? I feel there is a block on the network somewhere. When I connect a PC with a cable, this works fine.
Does anyone know (maybe someone from Sonos can chip in?) if it would be possible to disable WiFi on the Era speakers when they’re connected via Ethernet? It says on the WiFi help page WiFi can be turned off when connected via Ethernet except on Era speakers…
Hi thereI purchased 2no One SLs understanding I’d be able to have 2 speakers in different parts of the house playing the same music.Hadnt quite banked on all the login/app/set up stuff, but ok.Plug them in and let the app find them…...It couldnt. The app told me to connect an ethernet cable. (not supplied)I found one and did this. It works and plays music that I dont have much control over, but ok.But the weirdest thing is the app continually asks me to sign into a gmail account that I dont own. I have uninstalled and reinstalled with my own email address but it wont let me do anything in the app unless I sign into this account that is completely unknown to me. So i’m stuck choosing music from a restricted selection of some random app.To add to the mystery if i try to activate wifi so i can move these speakers away from the ethernet, it does so, but the music doesnt change if no ethernet is connected.Great product! I hope you can give me some tips cos they’re close to going back in the
Wondering if anyone knows what’s the size of the tweeters and woofers inside of Era 300 and Five. From the Sonos website, I found that the Era 300 has 4 tweeters and 2 woofers but I would like to know how big they are. Same question for the Five's 3 tweeters and 3 mid-woofers. Many thanks in advance!
Hello,I have a Mac Mini 2 Pro and was thinking of ordering 2 Era 100’s to use as speakers. Can use 2 Era 100’s as Stereo pair and connect use Line-in Adapter? or When it only work connecting with Bluetooth? Thank You!
Only just found out about the 14.16 update allowing Roams to be able to stay stereo paired when being used with Bluetooth (while at home and on a Wi-Fi connection at least). Been testing it out today as I have 2 of the coloured Roams in my kitchen which are used to BT from the PC and my phone. Yes before, I could group them but could not stereo pair them as a long term thing without constantly re-pairing them again and again.Nice that I can stereo pair them now and also use them how I used to. But now of course, I can play tunes via Wi-Fi when not being used with BT.Happy about this!
I have connected 2 turntables thru a mixer via the RCA outputs into a Play 5 line in. I was not expecting to have a 2 second delay and would like to know if a pre amp tape output or some other fix might help?
Although we are satisfied with the product and it’s quality, I have lived with the very disappointing news that I cannot play my songs stored in my phone. when we purchased the product, this was the one reason we purchased Sonos because we could play the music we have purchased from Apple I tunes. This was the feature we enjoyed most about using Sonos. After being able to do this for a number of years, Sonos and Apple changed there strategies and now the only way we can play our music is with a subscription to Apple Music. This was the only option Sonos offered us to restore our original level of service, allow us to play our music in I tunes from our phone or unless a stand alone Mac PC with I tunes was on in WiFi. Has any one else been disappointed or know of a way to restore to original service? Thank you
My living room is 800 sq feet. With 2 Sonos One and a Sub I cover part of it . Increasing volume or going for 2 Sonia Five wouldn’t change so much as I willl have a size too loud and the rest too silent . With Sonia Era 300 and spatial audio , any possibility to place 3 or for units and have Trueplay finding a way to fill the entire room una an optimized way ?? Thanks ! giovanni
Hi all I currently have a sonos one and am of the understanding that there is no bluetooth connectivity to connect a device for audio playback. I'm wondering if there is a work around to this. I know I could look to purchase a move or roam and link this to my existing system, seems a bit of a pricy investment considering the cost of One. I was wondering however if this same principle will apply using an alexa device, an echo dot for example witch allows bluetooth playback, with this will I then have the option to mirror this audio on my sonos one? Any help will be appreciated
I cant updating my play 5 Sonos to change to wifi connect. How to play my sonos 5 without eithernet cable connect to my home wifi network
I know with an adapter to the usb c port I can have a wired connection to my turntable. But if I have a bluetooth enabled turntable can I pair with an Era speaker similar to the feature on Roams?
Presently have a number of speakers and a sound bar connected to my SonosNet system.Considering purchasing the new Era 300 as an update to my 2 first generation, Sonos one’s. I understand the new Era 300 doesn’t support SonosNet. Do I therefore have to remove all my speakers and sound bar from SonosNet to WiFi to incorporate the new Era300? If so, how do I do that. Removing the Sonos Boost from the system will automatically allow all my speakers to find WiFi?
Has someone experienced pairing APPLE TV 4K with a couple of SONOS ONE only for audio movie reproduction? Are there synchronism problems? Thanks
When Sonos Era 300 will be available in India?
Perhaps a question for the Sonos folks.I’m looking to replace a pair of Play 3s in one of my rooms. I’m reluctant to go with Play 5s because of the size. Will two Era 3s be a good alternative? On a related note, if I bought a pair or Era 300s, could I run a phono turntable and CD player into the two available line in ports? Many thanks
Having just read all about the new Sonos Era 100 I am unsure if I add one to my existing system, will I be able to stream a bluetooth device throughout the whole house? Any ideas?
I'm thinking of buying SONOS sub (Gen.3).Can I send Music from my iPhone to SONOS sub (Gen.3) directly via 'AirPlay 2'? for Example:iPhone SE → SONOS sub (Gen.3)iPhone SE → HomePods and SONOS sub (Gen.3)without Other Sonos items. Moderator edit: combined posts
I typically use mine in the yard with the back facing the wall so I’m not sure of it would be an upgrade to swap it out for the Era 300 as with the play 5, all the drivers are forward facing and in the Era 300 it seems like half face the front and the other half face the back. Also, did they release any power ratings to see if it will be as loud as the Play 5 gen 2?
I have a playbar connected to the TV in the great room with a sub and two play 3’s for surround sound. Because the area is very large (kitchen is 30-35 ft away from the TV) I would like to extend the TV sound into the dining/kitchen area with another playbar and two play 1’s. I originally wanted to designate the area as two rooms, Family Room and Kitchen, ( so I could turn off the kitchen area when watching a movie) but realized that I don’t have any way to get the TV sound to the second playbar that way. So I suppose I could add all the speakers to the Family Room but I don’t see how to do that on the app. I don’t see the option to add anything to Family Room. Please advise
Is a SYMFONISK lamp suitable for outdoors? I'm talking about a covered deck.
My question is: would it be possible for Sonos to add to the Sonos ecosystem a vacation mode? In that mode, when activated by tapping a button in the app, all the Sonos units would power down to an absolute minimum power consumption. With vacation mode enabled, all network activity of the Sonos units will cease, of course making them unavailable in the app. Re-activation will take more startup time as usual, for the units have to boot and initiate IP handshakes with other network devices. After having returned from vacation, a tap on the vacation button would be required to re-activate the system to the normal stand-by mode. This option would reduce power consumption during the absence of the user.
