If I add a era speaker to my existing Sonos set up can I control the whole system via Bluetooth on the era speaker

Depends on what you mean by ‘control’, but generally speaking, no, Sonos operates from a Wi-Fi connection.

Are you asking if you can share the Bluetooth audio from the Era 100 or 300 to the rest of your Sonos speakers? If so, the answer is yes. Read more here:

But if you mean ‘control the Sonos system using the Sonos controller to change rooms, add streams, etc.’ then no, the Sonos controller requires an internet connection to work. As suggested, you can use Bluetooth to send a signal to a Sonos speaker that has a Bluetooth receiver in it, but you can not use the controller.
