I have a Sonos 5 in my living room and i am very satisfied with the sound, especially the base. But after putting the speaker on a wall mount much of the base is gone and the sound is different. If i have it in the corner on the ground it sounds wonderful but in the same corner near the sealing on a wall mount it loses all power. What should i do? Where is the best place to put my speaker?
Is it possible to connect my bike to Sonos? I just got the bike and it has bluetooth.
I have installed a new router and tried to set up using one of my play 1's. I went through all the steps but when I selected wireless setup it gave me an error message. Any ideas why? It's not the frequency. My controller now only sees that play 1 and not the soundbar or other play1. How can I troubleshoot this? Thanks
Which has a better sound quality stereo pair of PLAY 1s vs a single Play 5?
Listened to all the major brands before purchasing, and for me, Sonos is far superior especially for clarity and dynamic range! Spent hours over the holidays listening to my favourite music and discovering (hearing) aspects of songs that I never knew existed. If you like jazz and want to showcase the speakers - try Cyrus Chestnut - Earth Stories. Just amazing!
I have a WiFi extender in a bedroom on the second floor. I have plugged the play 1 into it via Ethernet, will this give me a sonosnet that I hear people get when they plug a sonos product into their router
Do you buy speaker stands or just plop them on top of a table or shelf? I just setup a pair of Play5s myself. For now, I have them sitting on some large speaker stands that I had from previous speakers. I need a more permanent solution. What do other folks do?
I purchased one of each of the play:1 and the play:3 to do a comparison before investing in more speakers. I was surprised that the low volume bass of the play:1 seems to be punchier than the play:3. Of course, the play:3 has more clarity, and once you increase the volume, the bass improves over the play:1. But, I do most of my listening at lower volumes, where the play:1's bass sounds better to me. This surprises me because I thought the play:3 had two low-range drivers vs the one in the play:1. Have others noticed the same thing, or do I have something setup incorrectly? I have played with the eq settings.
Does playbar actually work with television content. I have previously tried to connect television audio to the auxiliary device on my sonos system and the buffering creates a lip sync issue. I always assumed that Sonos buffered in order to maintain adjusted synchronization between devices.
I have a covered porch and can mount a play 3 where it would be completely impossible for it to get wet. i would also bring it indoors in the fall and remount it in the spring so that it did not have exposure to the elements during the really cold months (live in Chicago). any reason to think i would be doing damage to the speaker with this setup? thanks!
Hi, When you connect to the line-in connector of a Play 5 in a stereo pair, am I right to assume that the Play 5 is recording the line-in (ADC), streaming it to the second Play 5 which is decoding it back (DAC) ? If this is is the case, isn't there a loss of quality ? Basically this would also mean that using any external DAC (even the best one) connected to line-in would not change the sound quality... Regards.
I have finally gotten around to performing a side by side test of my Play 5 gen 2 to a Play 1. I am really surprised but with my ears, I was hard pressed to tell a significant difference!! While the Play 5 sounds slightly richer, the Play 1 really holds its own even in the bass department. So much so I am considering returning the 5 and replacing it with a 1! Really goes to show what a great piece of kit the Play 1 is. Just my 2 cents.
We have install Play:1 speakers in a community game room. Issues are kids playing it too loud. Has anyone found a way to limit volume for a Sonos zone. Keep in mind the speakers are exposed at access height and it is controlled by dedicated ipad in the room.
My Sonos Play 5 is connected to my TV with the AUX-cable. It autostarts playing when im turning on my TV - which is great! The problem is that when the TV is turned on, Sonos suddenly will automatically stop playing the sound from the TV, so i have to take my iPhone and start "playing" again. How can this be fixed? It is VERY annoying!
I see there are 92 articles on Amazon Echo here in the SONOS community. Has anyone from SONOS responded? Does SONOS have any intent to support Amazon Echo integration? I can't imagine anyone not wanting that. It feels like that is just how SONOS should work. We love our SONOS system but we keep finding ourselves using the lesser quality Echo just because it's easier. I wish I could use my SONOS system as my speaker and my ECHO as the controller (unless of course my SONOS could just do the same thing). I can't imagine how anyone will beat ECHO for speed and quality of response. Not even SIRI can compete with our Amazon Echo experience. If I have to I will replace my SONOS system with a bunch of ECHO's but I would never want to do that. Not even because of the investment I have already made with SONOS. I would buy a whole new SONOS system if I could have the AMAZON ECHO controller. Are there any representatives of the SONOS company in this community? Can I even wish for true Integr
Is it really that advantageous to add a sub to, two play 5's (2nd gen) set up as a pair. Any feed back would be appreciated.
My only disappointment with the Sonos system is a big one: why can't I listen to the music playing on the Sonos system through my computer? is there a way to do this???
Should you leave the Play 1 switched on all the time or unplug it when not in use?
Hello I just purchased & installed a Play 3 (like it very much) my question: when not i use, is it beneficial to disconnect the power AC ? would that prolong the life of the amp ? The bridge is also "ON" constantly. I prefer not to leave my components on all the time. What is your opinion ?
Hi Hopefully someone can help, I am trying to set up my Onkyo av receiver with Sonos connect and a play:5. Id like to be able to play all my music from Onkyo and have the play 5 in a separate room playing the the same music as amp. Hope someone can help
My wife has been very resistant to any audio equipment in the formal living room, decorated in a french style. She really warmed up to the idea of the Sonos in the living room once she heard sound quality with the easy to use informative remote without seeing too much equipment. Hear is the dilemma; she wants pretty speakers for the living room they can be floor standing to mid size. I would prefer something that is elegant as opposed to be trying too hard to be inconspicuous. Budget probably ~$1500 USD. I know it is probably too low for really elegant speakers. Any suggestions?
Hi all. I finally got a Sonos 3, it's sounding great. I'm wanting to connect it to my TV and wondering how it can be done. My setup is TV with various streaming services via my PS4. I purchased an Echo Dot recently and really like how it works with my Bluetooth speakers. I'm looking to have Sonos 3 in living room and want to work out how I can set it up with my TV. Is there a way I can take a line out my TV to a wireless router and add it to the Sonia Network? Can this be done with a Sonos Bridge? Or is there a way I can take a line out TV and wireless connect to Echo Dot and then back to my Sonos speaker? An easy and quick fix would be much appreciated. Cheers
Hello, my wifi network won't show up during the set up and it is working fine otherwise and is the appropriate speed. We have hooked the sonos play 1 up using the ethernet cable provided, however we can't seem to get the network to show up through the app during set up. Any help would be great! It's our first sonos and we just got it so perhaps it's a silly mistake?
Hi there, wondering if anyone has tried their Australian-purchased Play 1 and Play 3 in the USA. Moving there in a month and wondering if it will still work okay? I have seen a couple of posts about going from UK to USA, but none about Australia to USA. I am presuming the voltage is universal and I will just need to get a socket adapter for the power source? Can I just buy new wires? It looks like they are pretty hard-wired into the speakers so not easily swapped out?
Can different music be played on different sonos speakers in different rooms at the same time?
