Hi there, recently bought an older model Samsung (NU7100), and Sonos Beam etc. Sonos is wired and working well without the TV (music only). But I am having issues with TV connectivity. Things I've tried; I connected the Beam via HDMI Arc (Tv input was HDMI arc). The sound was delayed and intermittently switched on and off. I then ran an update on both the TV and Samsung, still same issue. Tried turning off all products beside the Beam, still same issue. Tried using the optical port on the TV (via the HMDI / optical adapter that came with the Beam). The only option on the TV that was now available to select other than the the "TV sound", did not work. No sound. Went back to the HDMI Arc connection, it is now missing from the TV option menu. Am I missing something? I am going to try another TV tomorrow, thinking maybe I'll try another HDMI 2 cable?? Thanks in advance... hoping it isn't something simple.. because I really am stumped... Thanks
Hey everyone, I've just purchased a gleaming new 2019 LG OLED 65" C9 TV and a Playbase, Sub and two Play1's. All went to plan until I tried to turn the volume up/down which doesn't work with the magic remote (given it doesn't have IR functionality) My investigations on the support forum gives me instructions for the C8 (press Home, go to Device Connector). However the Device Connector isn't an option on the Home menu for the C9 so I'm stumped. Can someone please help out here as I'm so close, yet so far away from having the perfect cinema experience! Thanks all
Anyone know or try using a Sonos Move in a Steam Room/Shower. I see no problem (with the IP56 rating) of it being in the shower but wonder if it would be OK in a steam shower where I feel like the water/steam could penetrate into the speaker a little easier (plus it gets to about 110deg). Thanks.
I recently got a Sonos move and when I try to connect it I press the sync button it does not make a chime I use the alternative option it says a error has occurred please help me fix this
I am curious to know what bluetooth audio codecs the Move supports. Particularly if it supports Aptx HD or one of the other higher resolution codecs like LDAC. Thanks!
Hi there, I have a rather dated Sonos system (the original ZP80’s!), which I decommissioned years ago, after they output full-volume “digital noise” when I inadvertently played a higher-than-supported bitrate, and which blew up my very expensive Wilson Audio tweeters. I have a large collection of high-bitrate files, and while I don’t expect them to play on Sonos, it obviously would have been a lot better if the Sonos gear muted the high-bitrate audio, rather than outputting the incredibly harsh/shrill/loud tweeter-destroying signal that it did. I know I could always set up a second audio library - deleting all high-bitrate material - but that seems like a less-then-ideal solution. Does Sonos gear still behave in this fashion? I am interested in upgrading to the new Sonos Ports, but I’m not willing to risk further damage to my high-end system. Thanks for any insights ...
Today I noticed that one of our Sonos Ones' bass response has changed. It distorts and pops, and when that happens, it seems to back off the bass for a second or two. I did a quick search and see that this isn't a new issue for the One and Play:1. It appears to be the speaker's built-in protection kicking in during certain bass tones. This actually makes some sense. However, I've had this particular One for over a year, maybe close to two years, and just noticed this happening for the first time today. It's very noticeable so if it was happening before, I'm sure I would have heard it. I would have checked my other Ones, but I had to put my kids to bed and didn't want to crank those speakers up to 40-50% volume to see what happens. Was there something in the last update that would have changed the protection level or the frequency response of the speaker? Has anyone else had this issue appear recently?
I received an update of the sonos app on my android. After the update I cannot manage my system anymore. I tried to reconfigure many times the app and the sonos system...but nothing, it does not work. The sonos system 5.1 works correctly with my spotify app or my t TV but I can't control it with the sonos app, it says that I have to configure the speaker in a blank screen... but it is not true because they are already configured. May you help me ? Thanks
I have a new Sonos system all set up and want to connect my receiver so I can play CD’s. I was told to add the CONNECT to the sonos system which I have done . I have connected the CD player to the receiver (going out to in) and now I am assuming, I need to go “out” from the receiver and in to the CONNECT. I dont see any outputs on the receiver to use to do this. Can you advise? Also, once this is sorted, how do I then see the CD player and where will I control it via the sonos system? Thanks, Cindy
Hello guys! I have a Sonos one today at my balcony. I was willing to buy a Samsung 65Q60 TV with a Sonos Beam. I usually like to play video clips at the TV. I was wondering if it is possible to make the sound of the TV play in all my sonos speakers, not only in the Sonos Beam connected to the TV. Is that possible?
Looking to add a Sonos product in my Kitchen/dining area in the near future. Which one should I get? Move or Play 5? Which one has a better sound? With the Move I could take outdoors which is one advantage.
I bought a elac's ub5 speaker yesterday. Picture above is the spec sheet of it. I'm considering to buy sonos amp but seems like it has too much power for my speaker. This speaker is 4ohm. So the sonos amp's side, It would be 250w. But this speaker's peak power is 140w. Almost twice to peak power. I'm newbie to amp, and passive speaker setup. So wondering this would be okay… I already own a pair of sonos one, and one symfonisk. I want to use it all grouped playing. Ub5 for front L,R, Sonos one for rear. Symfonisk for mono center in a room So the sonos amp is the only option... Hope not amp burn my speaker's coil...but If it's not fit for sonos amp.. I would return ub5.. I'm gonna buy a DAC and turn the DAC's volume knob minimum. Is that gonna make it better or meaning less?
Hi there, I have a Beam and I’m thinking of adding a couple of speakers to create a home cinema. The problem I have is I have a corner sofa so not sure if the speakers will work correctly/well with how my living room is setup. See below sketch of living room arrangement, not a massive living room so canny change it. The reason ‘person 2’ sits in that seat with a funny angle to the TV is because it’s a recliner (to be fair it’s not as bad watching from there as I expected). Would the speakers work as shown? (I’m assuming not as speaker 2 is too near the beam and in line) Or would I need to put the second speaker in the corner of the room and have ‘person 2’ sit next to ‘person 1’/in corner seat? Any advice would be appreciated even if it’s to say do not do it! I’ll just have to wait until the next house move. Thanks
My LG C9 2019 model does not currently work with the play bar - I follow the steps but the magic remote won't link to the player when asked to press the volume + button. Im hoping there will be a fix soon. Any ideas people. It is running through and optical lead and I choose optical on the LG menu then I go to Sonos app and press the volume + button pointing at the play bar but it won't connect.
Our Samsung TV model is LE32R51B. We are using the only HDMI port to connect to a computer, which is the current source of movies and music. We want to know if it is possible to connect a Sonos Beam to this type of TV and if a optical fibre adapter is included on the product? The TV ports are these:
I have spent about $1000.00 on 3 different Sonos speakers. The idea was to be able to move throughout the living area of our home and be able to enjoy music. Wonderful. Sound quality was very good. Then suddenly I can no longer link my iTunes playlist to these speakers. I’ve read several threads saying this is unavoidable. Makes ABSOLUTELY no sense. Any wireless speaker I own, from the one that came with my Dewalt tool kit, to the JBL on our boat, to the old beater that plays in my side by side UTV all access my iTunes playlist perfectly. My iTunes syncs perfectly with my Ford pick up and seamlessly with my wifes Toyota 4 Runner. Can it really be true that with all this compatibility, on Sonos can’t read my iTunes playlist unless I join some pay to play service. Everyone I know uses their iTunes playlist for enjoying music compiled over the last decade. Can it really be true that Sonos is useless to them all?!?!?
Hi Sonos, I just wanted to voice my disappointment at the discontinuation of the Play 3. I experimented with a couple play 1's and loved the sound and system so I decided I would to go with sonos when the time was right. I was building a house. Just finished about a year ago. Spent all my money. It's taken me a while to save up for the luxury items like speakers. I finally saved up some dosh to buy the playbar and 4 - 6 of the play 3 speakers to go around my house only I've discovered that the play 3 is extinct and I can't find anywhere in my country that still has them. Here's some feedback for the Product Managers. Sonos play 1 is too small for my loungeroom and dining room and play 5 is too big and expensive Sonos play 3 is the perfect size and price for me. Why not have a cheaper version of play 5 that doesn't include all the bloated voice activation tech? I already have voice activated phone and tv - why do I need voice activated speakers? To be honest, the less devices I
I have sonos controller 10.5.1 on android but in the app system updates keeps saying the app needs updating but there isn't a update in play store anybody else having same problem
Hey Sonos. So i have been reading that i will be able to replace the battery on my Sonos move at home sometime in the future which sounds great! However, i am curious: When i choose to replace the battery myself, will this cancel out the IPX7 rating on my Sonos Move? Or will it still be IPX7 rated even after i change the battery myself? Sincerely BJMN.
Am In able to connect my Samsung OLED TV to my Sonos connect system via wifi, the sound of the TV isnt that great. My sono’s speakers are inbuilt into the ceiling of my flat with the sono’s system itself in the utility room far from the living room where the TV is, so am unable to connect it via cable. Any info will be greatly appreciated.
We got a new router today and the name of the wifi network changed. I tried to update my Sonos Amp with the new name but it couldn’t seem to find it. I saw that you needed to update the app to the latest version but couldn’t see that the app needed an update. So I deleted it and re-downloaded it from the cloud. I launched the app and have two choices: set up a new Sonos system or Connect to an existing system. I hav tried both and neither work. I think I can’t connect to the exisiting because it is on a different network (the old name) When I try to set it up as new, I can’t get pass the button press. It finds the Amp but the next screen says to press the button on the bakc. I have done this multiple times and get a screen after about 45 seconds that says “Button press not detected.” What should I do? Should I do a factory reset? How do I do that? Thsi was so easy to set up initially. Can’t understand why this is so screwed up. Should be easier than this.
So I just purchased a Samsung qled TV QN75Q70RA and the Sonos Playbar. I went through the instructions to connect the TV remote to the Playbar and it connected. The problem is that the remote only communicates with the Playbar when I’m standing. No joke, the second I sit on my couch, the volume control doesn’t work. No matter where I angle the remote(hold it high, sideways, whatever) it doesn’t work. But when I stand up, it works fine. I have the Playbar laying in front of the TV on a stand. I’ve tried unplugging and restarting multiple times with no success. You can imagine how upsetting this is so and help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
I just spent over $4k on a Sonos Playbar/ Samsung Q80r “5.1” home theatre setup. Everything is unopened as of yet. I am currently performing setup research. I ordered this setup based on separate demos of the Samsung and Playbar. Unfortunately, after researching this site, It seems the Playbar’s lack of an HDMI input is a “serious, near fatal flaw”. During my product research, the retailer said “the Playbar’s reliance on an optical input is a non issue.” However, after studying this site, it seems many TVs brands (e.g., Samsung) do not send a 5.1 signal thru the optical output in instances where the originating input to the TV was delivered via HDMI. Does This means the Sonos Playbar is in some/many/most/all? Instances only capable of producing stereo sound? Is achieving 5.1 is structurally impossible without a work around? I also read Sonos has no official work around? Lastly, I read plugging an HDMI extraction device with an Optical output will provide the Sonos optical i
We recently bought two Sonos One SLs to use in our lobby. However, I just realized they have AirPlay turned on. How do we disable it or password protect it? We don’t have the ability to access our network settings or add another network just for the speakers. Right now, anyone who is on the same network can play their own music. We can’t have that!
Apologies if this has been asked previoiusly - I did search but couldn’t find a thread. Is there any way to listen to a Sonos playlist on a pair of bluetooth headphones? I bought my son the pair of Bose QC35 wireless headphones for Christmas that’s he’s been begging for but I belated realise his playlists are all on the Sonos. We don’t have a Connect - but even if I did that would necessitate rigging it up to a PC and pairing the headphones with that. I was rather hoping I could stream the audio via his iPad but I believe that’s not possible. Is there a smart way to do this I’m missing?
