I am running Mac 10.11.6. Any suggestions on how to make this active again?
I added a new room with 2 play1 and a Sub. I'm using the S1 controller. The option for Trueplay is not there. Trueplay is available in all the older rooms. Is this an S1 problem?
Hi, Trying to figure out if the Arc creates an immersive 3D-like experience during music playback ?(streaming or mp3) How many drivers will be used during music streaming? Just 2? The entire 11? Thanks
Long time Sonos fan, and I have been using the Playbar since it first came out! One thing that always frustrated me about the Playbar was that I would have to go to the Sonos app, settings > system > about my system > scroll down, over lots of other so is speakers, to find my Playbar, and double check the audio in: to make sure it said “Dolby Digital 5.1.” There was not a quick way to check if it was getting a DD5.1 source or stereo. Well, now I have the new and beautiful Arc, and the S2 app. Lucky for me I have a Sony 950G TV that has eARC. It is able to pass Dolby Atmos from an Apple TV 4K and Xbox One X just fine. It is amazing being able to see the “Dolby Atoms” logo on the controller screen, finally a quick way to see that it is getting a nice Dolby source! BUT why don’t we see all the other Dolby spruces and none Dolby audio formats too? I again keep finding myself going back to the new S2 app, settings > system > about my system > scroll down to find my A
I bought a Connect:Amp in 2019. It will only be usable in an S2 system if it is Gen2. Sonos documentation states “Not sure if your product is Gen 1, Gen 2, or Gen 3? Check the System section of your Sonos account page to find out if your products are compatible with S2.” but having done this there is no reference in my “System” record as to the Generation on my Connect:Amp. Having been caught out by a Sonos App update that forced me to buy a new android tablet already I am nervous about applying the Sonos S2 app to my system until I can ascertain I could still use my Connect:Amp with my beam and 2x Play One system, The serial number is C100 1810C *-*-*-*-*-*-E If it is an incompatible Generation 1 model I would like Sonos to explain why it was sold to me new, from Richer Sounds, only a year ago. I am already very cautious about continuing with Sonos after the recent “bricking” debacle and that would terminate any chance of further purchases of Sonos equipment. Thanks to anyone who c
I’m looking to purchase a Sonos turn table, don’t know where to start and would appreciate some help on where to start from regarding the set up ? i currently have the apple home pod and was hoping I could link this in with Sonos products.
I recently purchased the Sonos Arc and I’m curious if I can connect it to my record player without buying any additional Sonos products. I have Fluance RT82 turntable connected to a Sony Sterio Receiver. If I buy a converter cable, can I plug directly into the Sonos Arc HDMI port from my sony receiver?
I just replaced my Sonos Play Bar with the Arc. But doing this, it meant I messed up my partners ability to watch TV with me. With the Play Bar I was able to put a wireless headset in between the TV and the Play Bar using the the optical input to the Play Bar. This allowed me to hear the surround sound and my partner to hear better with his headset. Now I am using the ARC connection from my TV to the Sonos Arc and this has left the Headset out of the loop. Without switching to the optical input to the Arc, is there any way to replicate a similar setup, so my partner and I can watch TV together again? I don’t mind replacing the headsets, even if it means a cable is needed to connect them. My configuration is the Sonos Arc, Sub, and two Ones, setup as surrounds.
Hello. I just connected my Arc this weekend to a three year old Oled Sony Bravia TV and well on in various HDMI inputs, the TV would switch back and forth from TV Speakers to External Speakers. I turned off the entire Bravia Auto Sync, turned off Auto Audio recognize modes, pretty much all things I thought would be causing this issue which seemed to work, however, now when I switch off my TV using my Harmony Elite remote, my entire Arc, Play Ones and Sub go into Mute mode (green stable light on all of them) and it is quite annoying to have a perfectly nice looking White Arc bar with a green light on it when everything else is off. Any idea, what I can do to get these out of mute mode when I shut it down? I did try and configure my Harmony remote to perform an extra step to get these out of mute, but it did not work. My guess is, whatever I did turning Bravia Sync off to get the HDMI Arc to stop auto switching back and forth, created these to go into a standby/Mute mode. Any suggestions
I have 14 outdoor Sonance speakers connected to Sonance Amps that are then connected to Sonos ports. I want to add a true outdoor tv, but I would like play the sound through the speakers I already have installed outside that are controlled with Sonos today through the port. What do I need to do or buy to allow this outdoor tv to play audio through my current setup? I also don’t want syncing issues with audio and video not matching up. I don’t need to add additional speakers, as current coverage for my backyard is great. What can I do here? Please help!
Recently I am hearing a buzzing sound when I connect both my playbar and sonos 5 whether it is together or independently to my TV. They dont buzz when connected to anything else. The playbar is connected directly and the 5 is remotely connected (grouped using the app). Any solutions?
My current LG C9 tv software has been upgraded to allow multichannel PCM passthrough via eARC HDMI. Now this has been activated, my Apple TV audio is not compatible with the ARC… I know it has been suggested a software update is coming, but do we have a timeline for this? I have sent multiple emails to Sonos regarding this, as if this update isn’t going to be rolled out (like the previous DTS promise on the playbar) I want to return the ARC before the return period. Hence I need a solid answer and not just a maybe. I would prefer to save the money and slowly diverge from Sonos, as this is yet another huge oversight. May need to start thinking of another home audio solution.
Hi Im interested in purchasing the new Sonos ARC, but my TV stand is slightly too short, can anyone tell me the distance between the feet under the speaker, as Im hoping it would still support it ok but with a slight overhang. Also does anyone know if you backorder the ARC do Sonos take money immediately or when item is despatched. Thank you
I downloaded the Dolby Atmos 5.1.2 Demo for my Arc surround system (arc, sub, 2 ones) - When the Dolby pink noise demo shows the ceiling speakers as the source, my rears come on, and nothing from the arc. I’m playing from a USB with the Arc plugged in through HDMI arc. The Sonos app shows Atmos on the now playing screen.
In the webpage https://www.sonos.com/support/en-us/sonos-user-guide/index.html#t=sonos-user-guide%2Farc%2Farc.htm , it states that: Arc’s advanced processing creates five phased-array channels that deliver sound to your ears from all directions. What are those five channels? Where do the height channels fit in there?
I upgraded my system to the S2 app and everything seems to be working well (speakers, mobile apps, PC desktop controller on main PC) except for the Desktop Controller on my laptop. It’s an older Dell laptop running Windows 7 that I stripped of most of it’s programs and pretty much only use for Zoom, Sonos and occasional web browsing. It was working fine with the old S1 controller, and said that the new controller was installed “successfully”, but every time I open the S2 app it acts like it’s booting up for 5-10 seconds and then gives me a popup that “Sonos Desktop Controller has stopped working” and gives me the options to “Check online for a solution” or “Close the program”. Neither option has solved the problem and both ultimately result in the program closing. I have deleted the old S1 controller and tried deleting the S2 app and reinstalling but the same result… Has anyone else had this issue? Thanks for any help, Wesley
Hi, I am planning out some TV walls for a client and would like to include Sonos Arc. The plan is for the Arc to sit on a recessed shelf directly beneath the TV. There would be 20cm clearance between the top of the Arc & the top of the recessed shelf, would this setup adversely effect the sound? Would be very grateful for everyone input 🙂
I have two distinct Sonos systems: a legacy-component Sonos stereo system in our upstairs living room (two Sonos Play speakers, and a Sonos Bridge connected to our router, downstairs), and a home-theater system downstairs (Playbase, Sub, L&R Sonos One speakers). I have been running all these components through the S1 app. I just ordered a Sonos Arc to replace the Sonos Playbase in our downstairs home theater system. The Arc only works with the new S2 app. The Playbase and Sonos One speakers will also work with the S2 app. To prepare for delivery of the Arc soundbar in a couple of weeks, I have downloaded and installed the S2 app on my iPhone. Now I want to “migrate” my present home theater setup (Playbase+L&R Sonos One speakers+sub) from my S1 controller to the new S2 controller, and replace the Playbase with the Arc soundbar when it arrives. Meanwhile I must continue to operate my upstairs living room stereo system (Sonos Play L&R speakers+Bridge) through the S1 contro
Will the harmony hub continue to function if i upgrade to S2, or will it stop to function? I do not want to upgrade if my harmony remote can no longer controll it?
I do not want to upgrade to the S2 software but the notification that it is now available remains on the screen blocking all access to the rest of the S1 software. Sonos is now completely inaccessible thanks to the notification that will not allow the rest of the software to be accessed. How do I get rid of this annoying notification?
Hello, What kind of HDMI cable (specs) is required to connect the Sonos Arc’s HDMI port to the TV’s HDMI eARC HDMI port? Thank you
Does anyone know which courier company Sonos use for EU/UK deliveries ? Waiting patiently for my Arc to arrive next week but some companies seem to have an inability to find out house. thanks
I have read through some of the topics about this already, but most don’t seem to give a solid answer on projectors that do have HDMI ARC. My plan originally was to get the Sonos Playbar+Sub+Ones with an HDMI switcher (for the optical audio) to go to the Optoma Cinemax P1 UST projector. I just learned about the ARC and it’s Dolby Atmos compatibility. The projector has HDMI ARC and states compatibility with Dolby Atmos. However looking through the forums, I’m not seeing a solid answer on if and how it would work with a projector that does have HDMI ARC (not eARC though). We would most likely only have 2 inputs to the projector anyway, so I don't think we would need an HDMI Switcher anymore. Can anyone provide some insight into this?
I am both an avid Sonos (hardware) fan and also a Control4 user who loves to program in Composer. I'm wondering how / where I can submit feature requests to re-enable a VERY important feature in the Sonos API. And that is... the ability to replace the queue when we are calling different playlists in programming. If Playlist A is currently in the queue, and I don't manually go into the sonos app and clear the queue first, when I call Playlist B in programming (from a custom button, voice control, etc) it will MERGE Playlist B randomly into the queue alongside Playlist A's songs. I understand that this topic has been hotly debated for some time on what the DEFAULT handling of the situation should be. And, although I still disagree that the majority of people would ever want to merge playlists into a queue by default... I do respect the decision by the devs to be diligent in keeping the default behavior consistent. However, i do not understand why you would REMOVE the ability to cle
Hey guys, I recently bought a Sonos Arc and I would like to say it is a wonderful product. I’ve plugged the Arc soundbar in my Samsung Q70R(through ARC HDMI) and it found the Arc with one go and that it is Atmos compatible. I enjoy netflix shows with atmos and they sound great. The only issue I’m having is when I’m trying to play games from my PS4 Pro. There is a clear audio delay. I select Bitstream Dolby on PS4 audio settings The only way to fix this is to switch to PCM which is stero and quite lame when you hear the dolby way. Any of you encounter the issue and how to fix it? Will there be patch for the Arc or something? Thank you!
