where can I order a European (Type C, 2 pin) power cable for Sonos Play:1 (black)
One feature that I and many other people would like to see on all Sonos speakers would be that when the user presses pause/stop the audio would gradually decrease to mute before stoping, that way when playing music at any level you don't harm the speaker(s). I personally decrease the volume to mute before presses pause/stop, it would be nice to have that feature built-in to the echo system. If the user doesn't want that feature they you can disable it, as it is on by default.
I'm sure I'm not the only person out there who is using YoutubeTV with a newer Samsung TV (with the One Remote) that has the built-in YTTV client. I like having a Chromecast, as I cast from my PC's and tablets to the TV a lot, and I have the Chromecast showing our photo library continuously. Because I use YTTV, I wanted the TV to turn on to the Chromecast input, so that I could pick YTTV or whatever app or input I wanted, without having the OTA TV blaring in the background. I did some setup work on mine today and I have a suggestion for anyone who has a similar setup, and wants volume control with the Sonos to work for the native OTA Samsung TV tuner, a Blu-Ray player (or any other HDMI device), and the Chromecast. If you do a "Setup TV" from the Samsung menu, and you have the Chromecast on HDMI 1 and a Blu-Ray on HDMI 2, the TV will automatically recognize the Chromecast and the Blu-Ray. Generally, it will set up the Samsung One Remote to work with the Blu-Ray, but not with the C
I've just bought and set up a new Samsung UA55F8000AM television, along with a Sonos Playbar, Sub and 2x Play:1 for a home theatre set up. The set up has gone relatively well, however I'm having trouble controlling the volume correctly. I've tried to disable the TV speakers, however when I change the TV speaker settings to "External Speakers" the remote no longer controls volume, and an error message is displayed on the screen saying to control the volume on the external speakers. If I reactivate the TV speaker, the TV volume is controlled by the remote, however the Playbar does not change volume with the TV - instead, the Playbar volume must be controlled via the Sonos App on my iPhone. Can I reset the Playbar and attempt to set it up correctly? Please help!!
Currently the option to switch of the status light only switches off one of the lights on top of the new Sonos one speaker. Please, if possible can all of the lights on the top switch off, there is no point having one light go off and the other stay on, for example in a dark bedroom....
I have a Play one in my kitchen, but it is getting some covering of "kitchen residue" ie sticky feeling from being near my cooker. I have covers for the top, but can anyone suggest a covering for the speaker mesh which goes 360 degrees around the speaker unit. Hope I described my question in an understandable way. Thanks.
Hello. While playing music from Spotify in the Sonos app, I frequently get interruptions, due to “connection to Spotify lost”. Seems like many others have the same problem, and I’ve tried several of the remedies mentioned in this forum (restarting the boost, removing Spotify from the music services and then adding it again, etc). This has made the problem less frequent, but it still occurs unacceptably often. Play music from Yousee Music in Sonos app, is almost ok. Diagnostic number 8435344. Please advice!
I very much expect this has been asked for before, but is there any way to display/use the Sonos controller on the TV? I'd really like to see the album art, queue etc and be able to have a good way for guests to see/choose music and for that to be a conversation point even! An app shouldn't be too hard to implement on the major brands of smart TV. Much of the industry is driving towards making the TV the entertainment hub for the home.
TV and DVD Players compatible with my Playbar. SONY BDPS6700 DVD PLAYER: Converts DTS and everything else I've tested to Dolby Digital 5.1 BUT remember not all TV'S will pass it through. The DVD player also has it's own audio delay setting. VIZIO E55-E2: Will take in Dolby Digital 5.1 from all sources, including a Samsung and Sony DVD players I tested, and pass it to the PlayBar. The VIZIO can also adjust the audio delay but it is global, not per channel like the LG below. SONY XBR55X800E: Will take in Dolby Digital 5.1 from all sources, including DVD players, and pass it to the PlayBar. BUT it does not have an audio delay feature, and so the audio on the play bar was very delayed compared to the TV. If all your devices can adjust the delay than this may not be an issue. LG 55UJ6300: Will take in Dolby Digital 5.1 passed from some sources like my Fire TV, but for some reason not from two different DVD Players (Samsung and Sony) that worked fine on the Vizio a
Apologies if this has already been covered. I've just paired a new Sub with a pair of Play 5s (perhaps overkill, but loving it). Can someone please give me an overview of the difference between increasing the bass in the Play 5 EQ setting and boosting the Sub's bass directly? Does the former action only affect the Play 5, or does it boost the Sub's bass as well? Is there a crossover setting I am not seeing? Should I use the two levers in conjunction with each other? I understand the "musical taste" theory, so I'm just looking for some technical help and maybe everyone's experiences with adjusting the two levers. Thanks.
both on TV and music its constantly cutting in and out. My diagnostics # is: 8335003
Hi I have a full wireless sonos system at home using my wifi. I also have a wireless waterproof speaker that I'd like to have outside on the terrace. Can this be added to my sonos system without using cables? I have purchased a sonos zp90 to use my sonos system with a tv, but I don't know if this also can be used to add a non-sonos speaker without using cables?
I have a SONOS Connect (Zone Player) attached to a YAMAHA YSP 2500 Virtual 7:1 surround "sound projector" but when i want to play music over my Play speakers and the YSP, there is a clearly audible delay of the YSP vs Play speakers - a nuisance as i then have to I have to set the YSP from surround mode to stereo (no surround) as otherwise AND remember to change it back to 5:1 + 2 (virtual 7:1) It ,must be even worse with ATMOS etc. soundbars or AVRs I would like to see an option to change delay of the SONOS PLAY speakers/Connect or other bridge device to enable play speakers etc. to match the delay introduced by surround processing of the YSP, AVR or virtual surround sound bar(projector) I also would like to play you tube music over SONOS so at present I am limited to using YOutube on a smart BluRay player connectingthe BluRay player`s stereo analog output to the connect and use the line in to relay you tube music to the rest of the SONOS system. There is no digital input to th
I am a GREAT fan of Sonos but I am one of those dinosaurs who like HiFI you can touch and I LOVE my dedicated hardware controllers CR100 for my SONOS system. Having the SONOS app on my Smartphone along with a lot of other apps is just not as intuitive to me when I want to control my Sonos as the CR100 is. I have just heard that service of the CR100 will be discontinued April 2018 and that they will even be locked out of my SONOS system and thereafter useless. To say it mildly I am very disapointed!!! I do understand that Sonos will not update these very old controlers any more but WHY cut them out of the system for good??? I would gladly accept limited funtionality from these units and keep it to Mute/Volume control and Next/play/pause if it ment that I could keep these online. PLEASE SONOS RECONSIDER and let the CR100 have a place in my brilliant SONOS system. PLEASE!!
It would be great if the Sonos app could function as the Android homescreen/launcher. I'm certain many people would like to purchase (cheap $50) tablets to function as a dedicated Sonos controller. Any Android app can be extended to function as a homescreen/launcher simply by adding some additional blocks in the Android manifest file and being able to handle a few extra callbacks. This will be very little work to do on top of the existing Android app.
Sonos not working with apps on new Samsung tv. When ever I use Hulu or Netflix I get no sound and I have to switch to the built-in tv speakers.
I have a sonos speaker in my office and it literally has never worked for more than one song. It's constantly disconnecting, skipping songs, fading in and out. The desktop app is a complete mess and the mobile app can never connect. It prompts me to update the software on my sonos but then cannot connect to do so. Worst software ever! What a waste!
Is there anywhere I can get a very short cable for a play 5 gen 2? I have wall mounted one and want to hide as much of the cable as possible.
Our soundbar will make a random beep while playing TV audio. Only the soundbar makes the beep, neither of the play:1's serving as a left and right speaker make the noise.
I'm trying to do a factory reset to clear all the settings of a ZP100. I've done the following: 1) Unplugged the ZP100 and waited for a minute 2) Pressed the Mute button and plugged the ZP100 back in 3) Waited for the orange/amber light to flash However, instead of turning flashing green it reverts to solid white light. Would appreciate any help? (And I've tried contacting Sonos customer support but they say since I bought this unit used (off ebay), I'm not entitled to support.) The reason I'm doing a reset is because the ZP100 no longer connects to my home internet - wired or wireless - so I'd like to "start over" with it in hopes that I can get it to connect. (It used to work before the Holidays...)
Please can someone help ! I've had my sonos system for 7 months and love it however a couple of nights ago the speaker in my hall started making really weird sounds, like a door opening, then half an hour later a baby started to cry from the speaker randomly for the rest of the evening. Last night I was going to bed then I heard my speaker in my bedroom produce a sound like a plate or glass breaking followed by the crying baby sound - it was really loud! It's starting to freak me out and I don't know how to stop it. It seems to only happen at night and is totally random ! None of my friends are doing this using my wifi by the way. I've read that www.fastcompany.com has managed to hack into the Sonos App which might explain what's happening however I'm not sure what I need to do to stop what's happening now. Can anyone help? Should I delete the App from my iPhone and reinstall ?
I completely understand the problem to add DTS re-coding to the current Playbar due to the fact of introducing audio delay. And since the Sonos Playbar is only responsible for audio, this delay can't be added for video as well. Therefore, I would like Sonos to make a Sonos Playbar 2 or Sonos PlaybarHDMI which takes care about audio and video. DTS and other sound formats could be easily re-coded into a supported audio format and the audio/video sync could be kept. But it could also address other improvement possibilities: - Display "Volume" onscreen - Support IR remote controls (and others as well) to adjust night mode and speech enhancement - Multiple HDMI inputs / HDMI switch - Display currently played music (while not in TV mode) - Possibility to steer music with basic controls via IR (Play/Pause, Next track, Previous track, radio stations) - Possibility to add two front channels (Playbar + 4x Play:1 + Sub) - Possibility to increase width of Playbar to fit it to the size o
It would appear that this will be the last year of Sonos. Between the cancer of their lousy 5.0 app their anti-customer policy of outright refusing to fix it, their market lead will almost certainly be gone by X-mas. Look at the list of companies currently selling directly competitive products and note that nearly every one of them has vastly greater name recognition and audio experience than Sonos: Bose Soundtouch Wren V5 Definitive W Series Polk Omni Samsung Shape Gramofon Monster Soundstage And note that DTS, the audio granddaddy of them all has gone all-in, along with Qualcomm, the true granddaddy of wireless audio. The audio giants have released the open standards Allplay and Play-Fi, allowing consumers to mix/match their WiFi audio brands/products as easily as we do with other WiFi devices. Today Sonos has a significant edge over every one of these offerings, but will they still have it 3 months from now? There will surely be a half-dozen more brands announced wi
I connected the controller app on my iPhone to my different Sonos devices (bridge, play 5, and two play 1's). After connecting each, the app says "Some of your Sonos components need to be udpated." When I click "Check for Updates" I get the message "NO UPDATE REQUIRED". When I click Done, it drops me back onto the same "Check for Updates" screen. The same thing happens when I try it from my Macbook Pro and my iPad. How can I get out of this loop and start using my devices?
It would be really great if the play 3 or a play 5 had a optical output so i could use it for my tv in my bedroom. Im not going to buy a playbar for a bedroom when they are 700 bucks. A smaller speaker for tv’s in bedrooms would be a great add to the sonos family
