I purchased the beam yesterday. Connected to my sony kd-65xe8596... When watching tv, the connection alternates between tv and beam. So the sound cuts out every 2 seconds. It shows audio system active(beam) 2 seconds later tv speaker active. Its connected via hdmi arc. Please can you help fix this issue. Thank you!
I have Sonos surround sound (Playbase, Sub, 2 Play:1) set up for a large room where we have a large screen TV. we can sit on furniture in front of the TV and surround sound is appropriate and it sounds great. But in another area of the room, we have a dining table (next to the 2 Play:1 speakers). We would like to EASILY toggle between surround sound and full sound when watching TV (since when we are at the dining table, we can't hear the TV voice channel and surround sound is not appropriate - how can that be done?
Alright a little background. I am a college student living in a apartment with only a small space where I am able to set up an audio system. My goal is to connect my pro-ject essential III phono turntable to some sort of speaker system. I also stream music through Apple Music and one a variety of apple devices so I would like airplay 2. As of right now my two options are: 1) a pair of Sonos play 5s using a phono to aux to connect to the input of one of the play 5s. 2) The other option is a “traditional” system comprised of an amp and a pair of bookshelf speakers. The pair that I am looking at right now is the Definitive Technology demand 9 bookshelf speaker. I guess my question is really how good does the play 5 sound compared to traditional audio setups. I understand that some people find it counterintuitive to plug an analog turntable into a digital streaming speaker but I just don’t think I have the room right now for a turntable, amp/receiver and speakers. TLDR: I want
Is it possible to get the pattern wallpapers that the beam displays on the TV? They would make great laptop, mobile wallpapers but I can't find them anywhere.
I keep hearing different things on this. If I have a PlayBar with two Sonos One's as surrounds, will the group be AirPlay 2 enabled? The official blog post (https://blog.sonos.com/en/airplay2-coming/) says that "When you group one of these Airplay-enabled speakers with older Sonos devices, you can bring AirPlay capabilities to your entire Sonos system." However, I keep hearing that since the PlayBar is the master in the 5.1, that the Sonos One's set as surrounds lose their AirPlay ability. Why would these be handled differently than another group? Is there a way to overcome this? Could someone please confirm if this is the case?
I thought I’d post here my experience in setting up my Sonos Playbase. In addition to the Sonos Playbase I have two Play 1s, as L&R surrounds and the Sub - these are all in the Sitting Room. I also have a Connect in my Home Office to which is connected a Pair of M-Audio Studio Monitors. The Connect is connected to a Netgear Orbi Router (RBR50). My iTunes Library of 22,000 plus AIFF files - which is on an external Hard drive connected to my iMac - is linked to Sonos and can be called up to play through the iPhone app. I had to reload just about every cover image so that they show up on the Sonos Players. My iMac is connected by Wi-Fi to the Netgear Orbi Router (RBR50). Here though I want to talk about how I got the setup to work for watching TV and Movies. I have my Panasonic TX-P46GT30B TV on a Sanus WSTV1 Stand which in turn sits on a Unit inside of which there is only space for the Pioneer BDP-LX71 Blu-ray player a Mains Extension with 8 sockets and a USB Hard Drive for
As we listen to our sonos system, the volume has started to fluctuate up and down on its own. This happens with the radio apps, Apple and Spotify. Is there a solution?

I have sound output from surrounds plays one but not separation front - back in 5.1 vid
Hi I have two Sonos play 5 (generation 1) and one sub. Now I have purchased a Samsung q7 series with one connect box. I would like to have TV sound for my speakers. How can I pair TV and sonos?
As a long time Sonos user and advocate in the UK, I feel more than slightly aggrieved at only recently finding out that Sonos were offering a limited time voucher scheme for old CR100s. Clearly I've missed the deadline and frankly Sonos Customer Service couldn't give a damn... Anyone else caught in the is position or have any advice?? I suspect it's corporate greed taking over at what I used to think of as a innovator and trail blazer, that should be supported through thick and thin. Well, no longer.
I updated to the most recent release for Android, v9.0.1. At first, it was laggy, then would freeze up and crash. When I say "at first", I mean after the first 5 minutes of use. Now it crashes immediately on opening and I can't even submit a diagnostic report because it just keeps crashing! Tried reinstalling but to no avail.
Just finished a Sonos chat session_USA. The agent stated the release date for the Sonos Amp as December 1st. I hope that’s right.
Just received my new beam - first impressions are amazing! Works perfectly with Samsung QE7 TV except for one thing, and it's only minor but annoying! Previous soundbar showed the name of the device, not just "receiver", the beam now connected via HDMI ARC just says receiver. Which isn't really an issue, the question is, it just shows + or - when adjusting the volume, previous soundbar had a level along with it, it would be nice/useful to know what the volume setting is, without looking at the app. Only minor things - but have I missed something? Apart from that, Beam with a pair of Ones (sound set to full not ambient) just wow! Thanks in advance.
Hi,just got a full 5.1 setup,Beam, two Sonos One and a Sub,it sound ok but the Beam when watching at low levels the vocals are so quiet that I always have to put the volume up and is not very convenient specially later in the night,I’ve checked the app and adjust the Speech Mode on but still wished the volume was better,at the moment is sound similar to the tv speakers, had a chance to try the Samsung HW-N950 and that was proper sound coming out from the centre channel.Any ideas on how to increase the vocals on the Beam?
Response from Comcast support about the Sonos Beam: "Okay, it all makes sense now. The Sonos Beam soundbar doesn't support Dolby Atmos. I know this specifically, because I have one myself. I have also researched this high and low. My personal fix was to just watch my programs on another device like my phone or tablet and connect the device to my soundbar via blue tooth. I do apologize for this inconvenience but XFINITY equipment only supports Atmos Dolby Technology. -BMG" Is anyone else having this issue?
My last topic had a strange title so i try again: Hi I know that this is very new, but does any one in here have experience with a setup using a receiver with "works with sonos" I´m in the proces of buying a new receiver, and would like to get an idea of how the implementation is running.....are there any registered delays in sound, if you have the system set up with other units....is the app running smoothe with this "extension" and so on
Starting to regamret buying my sonos play1 last week - it was sold to me as a Bluetooth speaker, the best their is apparently - but it continually disconnects as it's actually a wifi speaker and my router is in another room - I can't use it all, I can't use YouTube, I can't connect on Bluetooth - it's a terrible waste and I'll be taking it back tomorrow
I installed Wine on Mint 19 without problems. Then installed the Win Desktop Controller .... all I see is a nice black Sonos flash fixed permanently on screen. Have to reboot to clear. Any gurus with some tips out there?
When you are on the same wireless network as my sonos play:1 device, you have all access to the device. Download the app, add device, and you are in. You can even DLNA push whatever you want to the device, provided you are on the same network. Is there a way to add a password or to lock down some services?
how can I prevent Sonos app [only] on my android mobile from going to sleep?
I have a Spectre X40 TV, and it has an SPDIF connection for outgoing audio. However, it seems like a regular audio plug, not at all like the optical converter plug that came with the Beam. I assume there is some sort of converter I can buy, but no idea what it's called. Anyone know? This is the TV side:
I have a beam and from time to time, I get stuttering audio. The sound often corrects itself but it’s not something I’ve had before. The input source is a Sky Q box with local content (not streamed) and it’s using a HdMI cable plugged into a brand new Samsung TV. It can happen with all/any content type. Non HD, HD and 4K. Old and new content too.
I bought a playbar yesterday and have connected with a bridge and the digital audio cable but can get no sound. I have a Pioneer pdp-428xd with all HDMI ports used. Can anyone help?
Smaller stereo box, Hi folks at Sonos, love your products but I find the Sonos Play 1 is too big for the shower/bathroom ensuite - It would be great to have a "Sonos Micro" that's optimised for a bathroom so I can enjoy great quality music during my morning shower. Small, Water resistant, Stereo & easily wall mounted or with a wall sucker would be great
Is there a way to have the Beam soundbar provide TV sound automatically when the TV is turned on? Currently I have to either tell Alexa to switch to TV sound, or click 'TV' via the Sonos app. Would simply like to turn on the TV and have sound, rather than have to talk to the soundbar each time I turn the TV on!
