Hello everyone! I have sonos vlanned and working well with my Android app from my home network to my iot network. On my iphone app, I seem to have to stay on the IOT network or the app loses the ability to control music that is already playing. It can start new songs, but not pause or stop them. Once the phone gets rebooted, the sonos app loses sight of the system. I setup the sonos originally on Android. I can use both phones at the same time on the same network and only IOS has this issue. On Android I have no problems joining IOT to adopt a new speaker, switching back to home, and the app works smoothly every time. An ideas to get my IOS device working as well as my Android device? Thanks for any help.
I have purchased an LG OLED tv but I cannot manage to connect the SONOS PLAYBAR with the remote control. I went to the Audio settings and I also used the app on my phone to try to connect but it doesn't work. Does anyone have an idea? thanks !
Hi, I'm a real Sonos fan, I like the service very much. But unfortunately I think there's one very basic feature missing that would make our life so much easier. I had this situation time and again, I wanna watch a video from my pc or phone, I wanna stream a youtube video or a movie on my pc or phone, or even listen to my voice notes, and I wanna stream it to my Sonos speaker in whatever room I am now. I was looking for solutions here on the community, and while there is some complicated solutions to solve this problem for a computer it's not easy, and I didn't found yet a solution for a phone/tablet. the best solution would be Sonos should add in the desktop and mobile app version a feature: broadcast your device sound to stream all sound from this device to the Sonos speaker of the room you choose, just like a bluetooth speaker. It's ironic actually, that Sonos is investing so much effort to add all streaming services to fit the need of everyone, when this solution will automati
Ok, it's annoying that that every time you break apart a stereo pair and re-join them (e.g., to use one speaker temporarily as a portable elsewhere in the house), you have to re-do all the settings, including the room audio settings and the voice assistant settings (for the Sonos One). Looks like Sonos has had outstanding requests to restore settings easily "on the list" for at least 6 years. Or one could easily work around this issue by having a mono mode setting - guess what, also "on the list" for at least 6 years. But worst of all is that every time I separate the stereo pair or re-join it, all the 3rd-party services I use with Sonos, like IFTTT, Home Assistant, and Olisto think that the old speakers are gone and I have new speakers. I have to delete and re-establish the account link, then re-create all the applets and automations that I use to work around other silly bugs and limitations with Sonos services. It's an impractical amount of work for a quick temporary speaker move.
Firstly, love the Sonos system I have. So much I have purchased a system for a mate for his wedding present. Anyway,so I finally bit the bullet and purchased the Sonos SUB. While it is a great product, it is way overpowered for an apartment, so much I'm waiting for the neighbors to complain even at 1/3 power. Can I suggest to the Sonos team to create a "Mini SUB" for those that don't want to spend the big bikkies and don't need oodles of power, but still want a reasonable sized, power and priced SUB. Personally, I think the sales would massive, and wouldn't overly hurt sales of the current SUB. Also it would make adding a sub to other rooms more cost affective (I can't see the average household buying more than one full sized SUB at the moment. Just a thought!
Add a feature so that Sonos can display lyrics for songs - maybe hook into Tunewiki or something similar.
Sub has no light and doesn't react. Its roughly a year old and stopped working all of a sudden. Does anyone know how to fix this / open the sub? Its a bit heavy to send around the world...
I have my entire music library - 35,000+ songs on shuffle in my queue. Is there any way to save my place? It's kind of a pain to scroll down so many songs after going away from it.
Hi all, I have released a Sonos controller for the web browser. It’s still in development, but I think you’ll really enjoy it. Merry Christmas! Check it out here: https://github.com/Villarrealized/sonos-web
hye guys, In my living room I have 5.0 sound BEAM = 3.0 play1 X2 surround = 5.0 And it's Amazing But I would like to experience the SUB and take the advantage of 2 Play1 for other rooms . So I was thinking to remove the 2 Play1 in other rooms And put a SUB with the BEAM in the living room to get 3.1 Sound Any comments ???
Whe. I'm using the Sonos playbar and sub in an 3.1 or 5.1 setup, on what hz is the sub crossed? As far as I could see it's not manually adjustable to like 80 or 60hz.
I've seen alot of people asking for the measurements of the new SYMFONISK products. Here are what I think will be pretty close to the size... SYMFONISK Bookshelf: (W)36cm x (H)12cm SYMFONISK Lamp: (W)21cm x (H)38cm Resources used: Img1: Bookshelf Img2: Lamp EU socket size: Buster+Punch (.pdf)
Hello...I'm in the market for a projector, tower speakers, and the new Sonos Amp. I plan on the Amp powering the front towers and, initially, using my play 1's and sub for the remainder of the 4.1. Has anyone completed this setup? I'm trying to avoid any lipsync issues. Also, the content provider will be a PS4 and AppleTV.
I have a semi open-plan living area with Soundbar, Sub and 2 x Play1 speakers (set to surround) in the living section, then 1 x Play1 in the kitchen area which also contributes to the overall surround sound. When I change the volume on the Sonos app I can group all three speakers to change at the same time but when I use my TV remote it only changes the living area speakers and not the kitchen one, creating an imbalance of sound. Is there any way of setting up the 3 x Play1 speakers as an overall surround (rather than just two, left and right)?
I've got a greenhouse where I can relax in the evening. No power is avaiable. I want sonos 1 battery run but for some strange reason it's not developed yet. A compromise could be playing Sonos on my phone (network works fine) - but though I can play the songs from my cell on Sonos it seems like I can't find out how to make it work "the other way around" Can anyone tell me how to play sonos over my phone ?
I have read lots of threads here and on Reddit with naysayers indicating that Sonos does not work well as your home computer speakers and this is simply not true. If you have the budget, there is nothing that even comes close to Sonos for immersive sound for gaming etc. I have been using Sonos as my go-to surround sound speaker system for my PC for the past 4 years without issue. I have also installed them through various versions of Windows without issues. The installation procedure is as follows: If you do not have a Sonos system already go to step 2 below. If you do have a system already then you need the app on a tablet, phone or other device that is different from where you are going to install the computer Sonos system. **Needed - 1 x Playbar or Playbase, sub if required and surround speakers (play 1 or 3) if required. Computer needs a sound card that has an optical output (most do). Make sure you have a random old remote around that has a volume control on it. Need an E
I had a massive amount of trouble reconnecting a connect:amp and playbar recently. We were running our system with a play 1 wired to our ASUS router. After numerous emails and calls to the customer support line, it was suggested that in the ASUS router control panel: Wireless - Professional tab - the airframe fairness option should be disabled. After doing this I was able to connect my speakers easily.
I'm bringing my Sonos New Amp to a cottage that has no wifi for it to connect to. I'd like to be able to stream Spotify music to the Amp. I believe the only way to do this is to use the line-in from my iPhone (i.e. dual RCA l/r from Amp to 3.5mm male to iPhone 3.5mm female to lightning dongle to iPhone). As a side note, I know I could bring a little router and setup a local wifi (with no internet access), but this would only allow me to wirelessly stream the music on my phone, since my phone would be connected to this local wifi and cannot be then connected to the internet (for streaming Spotify) at the same time. So my questions are: Can someone confirm that the line-in method is the best method for this situation to achieve my goal? In connecting in this way, would there be any compromises in terms of sound quality vs. using the amp as per normal on a wireless network connected for streaming to from the internet, etc.? Prior to leaving for this cottage, is there anything I sho
I may need to move from Canada to Singapore in the next year. The two countries have different electrical standards and plugs. My two part question is: 1) Can I simply buy power cables compatible with the local market (Singapore) and swap out my existing ones? 2) Where can I buy the cables locally in Singapore?
So I had run into an issue with getting my Sonos Beam to get Dolby Digital audio from my Fios VMS1100. Long story short after a lot of troubleshooting I figured it out that no matter what setting I changed on the hidden/non-hidden menus on the VMS1100 -- it would not output Dolby Digital audio from the HDMI wire. The TV would not allow me to set Dolby Digital audio for the input and the Sonos app reported Stereo coming in. I've seen it work with my Fire TV connected to the same TV that allows me to set DD on the TV and it reports it in the Sonos app. During my testing I noticed the Optical Out on the VMS outputs Dolby Digital everytime. And when connecting it directly to the Beam with the HDMI adapter, it sounds exceptionally better (especially on Dolby Digital content). So after searching I found this audio inserter: https://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=13347 With the Fios outputting optical and HDMI to this device, I have the joined signals passing to my TV which now allow
Hey just thought I'd share as I've just made a big mistake when buying a turntable for home - I looked around for something to match the colour scheme of my apartment (I needed a Red one so couldn't get from the SONOS shop) and found this "budget" turntable that would hook up to my SONOS speaker system in every room - A perfect solution so found an AV provider and purchased it but what I didn't notice is that there is a Pro-Ject Essentials III A and a Pro-Ject Essentials III Phono both of which are the same price and the latter comes with a built in pre-amp which you need for the CONNECT which I also purchased so be warned peeps or you'll end up banging your head against the wall like I did today 😢
Hi, My Play 3 died the other day and I am just outside my warrenty period 😞 I contacted sonos customer services who did not help me in the slightest. I have now looked at the power supply board and seen that the board around one of the input capacitor has burnt out and or the cap itself. As customer services won't even sell me a new power board, does anyone have a circuit diagram for this board so i can attempt to repair it myself. ( I am competent with electronics). P/N: RN-002657 (board number) Date: 08-04-11 Also has anyone else experienced this fault. I am assuming a power surge has done this. Many thanks Jamietaylor13
I thought I would like to share my thoughts on why I would never recommend Sonos to my friends. After having given it some thought, in my opinion, the whole concept behind Sonos is basically flawed. First off, a little about my current Sonos situation. Today I have, and enjoy, a fully working Sonos system with multiple devices spread across several rooms. The system is stable, because at some point I decided to cable everything. The majority of my past Sonos problems could all be related to wireless instability. Here is why the concept behind Sonos, in my opinion, is basically flawed. Sonos is sold as a speaker system with flexibility and ease of use as part of its core values. The idea is simple. The speakers look good, and can easily be moved around your home in various wireless configurations. I dont doubt that for many users, this is in fact reality (eventhough the speakers are probably rarely moved around). However, if you inspect the troubleshooting section o
We've had two clients report over this weekend that their Sonos systems are playing back a strange tone/noise randomly? Anyone else out there hearing this strange noise? The date of the occurrence was on Sat./Sun. May 12th-13th - 2018.
Many people, myself included, have has significant audio sync issues with the Beam and LG TV’s (C8 OLED in my case). However, using the latest LG firmware recently released and recent Sonos update, the problem seems way less noticeable. I’d go as far as saying ‘fixed’. Has the Sonos has any improvements made in this area, or is it the TV? Am I imagining it? Anyone else noticed any improvements with similar setups?
