Hello, just received the Arc and so far loving my first Sonos device I have an Apple TV 4K, LG OLED B9 (eARC support) and now the Sonos Arc. When I play normal DD-Content on the ATV, the Arc only outputs Stereo. (The TV also says PCM).. Is there anything I can do besides force the ATV to output DD? Because it would be not so nice to switch between the audio settings if I want to watch Atmos or DD-Content. Thanks Michael
Hi, So yesterday I set up my new Arc with my existing SUB Gen 3.Before that I already had 2 pcs of One Gen 2, 1 Five and the Sub Gen 3.I had that as a music set up at home. But to my disappointment once I connected the SUB to my Arc, the SUB could no longer be paired with my One’s and Five music set up. I understand I cant use the SUB at the same time for both TV and Music. But is there a way that it can be connected to both setups. So when I watch TV the SUB is connected to ARC, but when TV is off and I want to play music, can it be connected to the music setup without me having to go to SONOs app and change the setup every time? Another question. When I go to the ARC in the APP it say I can add surround speakers. But once there I can only add the One Gen 2, there is not an option to add the Five. Doesn't Five support being connected to Arc? 🤔
Please flesh out the options to share a sub between two 'rooms'. I'm in the same boat as many users here and would like to share a sub, in my case, a large living room, playing music on two Play:5's as a stereo set, and a 5.1 surround with a Playbar and two play ones. The only option to share a sub between the setups is to 'unbond' the speakers, but then you lose the TruPlay saved settings and to recalibrate each time is not practical. Having the option to save the TruPlay profiles created would be amazing. I'm also taking advantage of AirPlay 2 for music which is not supported with a surround setup, hence why I have a second set just for music in the same room. Sharing a sub between two 'rooms' is perhaps an option for a future software update?
When wall mounted, the up down buttons are essentially reversed compared to the other units in the house, causing me to skip the wrong way or adjust the volume the wrong way. It would be great to have a setting that allows you to reverse the order.
Please excuse the incredibly nooby question, I’ve just started to make enough money to try and build a decent hi-fi system (edit: sorry I meant home theater). So I recently bought 2 One’s to work as a surround sound set up (as the rear channels). I’ve currently got 2 powered bookshelf and I want to sync it up to the pair of one’s that I just bought. Now I’ve been doing some research but I’m still not a 100% clear if I need the Amp or the Port. From what I understand the Amp is necessary for passive speakers and provides surround sound capabilities, whereas Port works with powered speakers but doesn’t(?) support surround sound with the One’s. Rather all it does is add multi-room streaming capabilities. So I just want to clarify whether or not the Port can enable surround and if it can’t, will there be a problem using the amp with my powered speakers?Bonus question: Currently my 2 powered speakers are connected to my turntable via phono preamp. Assuming I connect amp/port, will I be able
Buying new tv. My old tv always worked in Dolby when sound was straight from tv but not with the PlayStation or virgin media. I recall finding it it was a problem with that tv so want to avoid it this time . Any advice on what tv to get ?
I accidentally postes a picture of a Sonos connect back sticker on an online auction. Could someone areal the trade up ising ONLY the serial? Its sold with unused trade up. Also, is the connect trade up 15% or 30% ? Thanks, Jon
I just received and set up my brand new Sonos Beam. Loving it so far! However...we have a light wall, and a white fireplace mantle, and Sonos is one of only a few companies that make a white soundbar. I wanted it to blend in and be as inconspicuous as possible. The white Beam came with a black power cord. This immediately seemed an odd choice, unless it was a packaging mistake? I see on their website that they actually SELL white power cords. So for $25, I can resolve the issue. But that’s $25 on top of the $300 for the soundbar. I chose a white unit for a specific purpose, and would have expected the power cord to match. Or at the very least allow users to select the color cord they prefer. Any way to exchange my black power cord for a white one?
Hi, in the process of updating my TV. Want to make it future proof but also keep working with existing Sonos cinema system which uses a Playbar, 2xPlay 1 and Sonos sub. When I have the money I’ll replace the playbar with the Arc.I’ve been searching for a Smart TV that supports both Dolby Atmos and Dolby Digital. Alexa support would also be good but not essential.Thought I had found a good economical match with the Philips 43PUS7855 until I realised there was no mention of Dolby Digital in the spec. I’ve seen Sony Bravia is a good match but a tad large and expensive for my room!Any suggestions and practical experience from you guys and gals?
how many sonos subs can i add to an existing playbar?
Bonjour à tous,Je voulais savoir, peu t'on écouter de la musique qui est télécharger sur son Android?Ou faut il exclusivement écouter de la musique via des sites ou radio quelconque ? MerciLe Dr.
I have replaced my Playbar with an Arc. I am using a Sony A9G. All devices fully updated with latest firmware. The ARC is connected via eARC. The ARC is hardwired via ethernet to the router. The issue I am having is that sometimes the sound completely cuts out on the ARC. This is - only - happening when using apps like Netflix and Kodi. If I switch to TV the sound returns but stays away if I go back to Kodi or Netflix.I followed two approaches in solving this, both not guaranteed to work, and it is very annoying if you have a wife looking at you with that typical look ‘why did you have to replace the device when the playbar worked flawlessly’ … and I can't blame her. 1st workaround:I rebooted the TV completely and the sound returned. This worked once.2nd workaroundI had to switch - via the Sonos app - from TV Sound to playing a song from Spotify. When I then played a movie on Netflix the sound did not return on the Arc. There is also no way to manually force the Arc via the Sonos App to
I dont want to have to purchase an ARC but would like to find a way to use these speakers and ideally get 5.1
Today I bought the move model speaker and I received the email confirming my purchase. The problem is that the company didn’t withdraw money from me but just 1 euro, and also if I go in my account under orders, it doesn’t show my purchase but it says “no orders have been made” (something close).Does anyone know the reason of this facts? Please help me
Does the Sonos Connect work with Onkyo TX - NR636? If not, is there a website that shows the compatible Onkyo receivers? Please advise
I have Sonos 1,3 and 5 setup in my house and I use the new Sonos app.I have over 200gb of my own music, most are in .Flac files. How do others access their own music collection? I've tried copying onto a microsd card , inserting that into my mobile device, clicking on This Mobile Device option , didn't work. I could go down the NAS or my cloud mobile route but this is expensive. Currently have the data on my laptop and on an external 1tb HDD drive. How can I access via my mobile device and play through my Sonos speakers? It's a pain firing up my laptop each time I want to listen to something from my collection. Thanks for any help
Hi folks,Just wanted to float this idea…..I currently have 2 Play 5’s(Gen 2) paired with a Gen 2 Sub and use it exclusively for music…...Very happy, but I just came from a friend’s home, who has the same set up,but uses a Playbar for surround sound.I had always been a 2 channel stereo guy,but his set up blew me away….and...mine is no slouch! The overall engulfment of the listener was shockingly good…..so….I am thinking of adding the Arc to the rear of my set up,but “not for TV”! Just audio. The placement would be just behind the listener’s head,14 feet behind, but about 12 inches down from the ceiling area.i figure(if this is viable) that the output from the arc would give a very immersive presentation.Obviously,I’d have to point the main Arc front speakers downward, but I “think” this could work quite well….Would love some input from you guys(except one,who shall go un-named).Much thanks-:)
Hey looking for some advice ,So we currently have a Sonos beam and have recently just purchased the Sonos one and the project t1 phono sb turntable as gifts for my partner for Christmas however I’ve since learned that they won’t connect without port or play5 is there any other alternative (cheaper) way to connect all 3 ? Would the connect amp 1/2nd gen work to link them in short term until I can bare to part with another £500 for the play5 or £400 for the port ?
Hello, are there plans to ever support more than 2 surround sound speakers within the Sonos setup? I recently bought a third speaker without researching if that was possible for surround (didn't know it was limited to two beforehand). So, I was going to return it if there are no plans to ever support that.
I’ve owned few Sonos speakers for a while now but I have never done Trueplay since there are no IOS devices in the household. I’m in the market for a new tablet and was wondering whether Trueplay results with the iPad 7th gen are good or not? I’ve read that some people have found the tuning to be worse with newer iPhones than some of the older models. I really want to find out how my system sounds with Trueplay since the normal EQ is very simplistic. Trueplay for current gen iPads and iPhones might be months away, right? The older model would suit my needs just fine and they are cheaper but if the tuning is not good then I might not bother with an older model. Any experiences?
In this picture there is an icon representing a Dolby Atmos signal. Will this show up only for true lossless Dolby Atmos or for lossy Dolby Atmos (dd+) as well? thanks
I’ve just dropped my Sonos move and it’s dented the front any tips to remove the dent or pull it out
Hii have two in ceiling speakers, I was told they’re for certain sounds only, I’ve never heard them work, how can I test?
I’m about to purchase 2X Sonos One (Gen2) for the study. And I don’t know what to do with the Play:5 (Gen2) that has been in the Study so far. Should I take it to the Kitchen and pair it with the two Sonos One (Gen1) by placing it in the middle, all three facing Kitchen and Living room? Or is this setup bad for the stereo effect? I have a feeling having three speakers lined up might be counter productive. Or shall I take Play:5 into bed room? Thanks for advice,Houman
I am an Android user that is wanting to use my Sonos Move as a microphone to Trueplay Tune my other speakers. I understand the reasons listed for why Android is not a supported platform for Trueplay but with the Move being able to Trueplay Tune itself I do not see why it cannot be used to for other speakers in the household. I am totally open to dancing around the room with my move while it listens to various beeps and boops! I wanna hear your thoughts 😉
