The update today gives us multichannel LPCM support for Sonos Arc. However, I can’t seem to get this working on my 2020 Samsung Q85T QLED. For example, if I put a DD 5.1 blu-ray in my PS4, I only get Stereo 2.0. No matter what settings I use. I was told to do “passthrough” on my TV and “dolby bitstream” on my PS4, this didn’t work (I also tried linear PCM setting on PS4 and auto on the TV). Similar with games. I get “Dolby Digital 5.1” but not this new multichannel LPCM… help??
Hi all, Firstly, I’m loving S2. Nice UX generally :) I would like to request moving the "Your Library" section to top of "Spotify" section in "Browse" screen. I believe this will create a more natural user experience for Spotify users looking to access the lists they have created. It is also only a small section of menu headers, so scrolling past it to the Discovery Type headers would be easy for those who simply want to take advantage of Spotify’s Discovery tools. As it stands however, for me to find a list in my library that I haven’t added to “My Sonos” requires me to scroll for ages past all of the discovery headers down to the “Your Library” section. I actually didn’t even know this section existed anymore and only found it by sheer luck. I’ve shown my wife now how to find her lists and she agrees it’s in a difficult to find spot. Thanks for considering! NOTES- Device = Apple iPhone 8+- Device OS = iOS ver 14.2- Sonos app = S2 ver 12.2.1
We have a large Great Room (kitchen/living combo) that I am looking to get Sonos for. My issue is that we host football on Sundays and when people get louder in the kitchen area I end up cranking my soundbar up and deafening the people in the living area so the kitchen people can hear. I am looking for a setup that allows tv sound to be equally presented in all speakers. (I want to be able to have a soundbar and other speakers but I don’t want the other speakers to be “surround sound”) to summarize I want to know of options to have my tv sound be equal in all speakers in my larger great room, not picky with what the speakers are.
Fairly simple issue. I’ve seen this happen with other apps but can’t remember which ones. Google Music worked awesome with the Sonos app on my desktop as well as mobile. I’ve migrated everything over to Youtube Music but when I try and connect Sonos with Youtube it says my email and / or password are wrong. The message I get is “The email and password you entered did not match our records. Please try again.” I’m guessing there is a log file that may have an old password in it? I am using the most current SONOS app on a windows machine. Any tips would be appreciated.
Can you use sonos arc to show cameras on TV with Alexa? I have blink cameras.
Hello, I have a Sonos Beam connected to a Samsung Series 8 through optical. Recently we have found that anytime we are streaming something on our Firestick (ie Netflix, Disney+), the audio will stop intermittently for a second or two and then resume. This occurs every hour or two. I am not sure why this is occurring, as we have everything connected correctly that I am aware of and streaming with internet capability up to 1000 mbps.
I know this is an ancient topic but how can this still be an issue? I owned the playbar when it was new but the app back then was not very good with limited integration with Spotify for example. I loved the sound from the playbar but eventually sold it, partly because it wasn’t possible to control volume etc with an iPhone’s side buttons or from the lock screen. It’s just so unintuitive compared to a Bluetooth speaker. fast forward to 2020 and I thought it was time to give sonos another chance. I now own a Beam and Sub and the app is so much better. (And there is AirPlay and google assistant). I really would like to use the sonos app for playing music etc BUT I still can’t use the side buttons or get the controls on the lock screen.!! I’ve tried it all, closing apps, turning off all AirPlay devices. It even worked for a little while but then I connected the Beam to a Samsung the Frame 2020 and since then the controls are gone. I have turned AirPlay off in the tv:s settings. Does anyone
Added Beam to my list of products but every day I have to unplug my router to RE-ADD the beam to my list of Sonos products. As you can imagine this is a real pain and it fouls up my other (non-Sonos) devices too requiring login on those devices as well. Once added, why doesn't the Beam remain on my list of products?
Hi, I’ve recently purchased a Sonos arc sound bar, sub and two SL speakers. However i am not connecting these to a TV. I have a projector. I may have overlooked this detail. Is it possible to connect these to the projector? Thankyou
Hi There I recently purchased a Sonos play 5 and want to play audio on my projector through wifi or bluetooth. I have a fire stick i use on my projector - so i purchased a blue tooth receiver for my sonos speaker. Fire stick is able to recognise it and connects to it - but it gets added as a “headset” not a “speaker” and I can’t hear any sound. Any suggestions on what i am missing ? thanks
Is there anyone that can tell me how to call Sonos Belgium? I made an order for the Sonos Move on 26nov. First there was displayed 'back order', now there's displayed 'out of stock'. And I can't reach them at all. Please help.
Hello,I just go an Arc and have connected to a Sony Bravia XBR-65x930D TV, to which my Apple TV is also hooked up. Audio from both the TV and Apple TV plays on the Arc. When I connect PS3 (with/without being powered on) to the TV with a HDMI cable, however, audio plays on Bravia speakers, instead of Arc, and reverts to Arc when the same HDMI cable is disconnected from the TV. Need help resolving the issue. If not, I may have to return the Arc and a couple of Sonos One speakers.
Audio: Sonos ARC SLTV: TC-55FZ950CConsole: Xbox Series XHello All,I cannot seem to get my Series X to detect the Sonos ARC SL as a Dolby Atmos device. I discovered a workaround where if I set my resolution to 1080p I am then able to set the audio to Dolby Atmos. Now that's fine and dandy, but I'm not willing to accept lowering my resolution to have this work. Can anybody please help me out? Thanks in advance.Regards,Chris
I can’t seem to find anyway to rename my rooms using Sonos controller on Windows 10. I’ve read that it’s possible through the mobile app, but surely if the little mobile app can do it so can the full desktop controller app can too? This needs asked again and again because it’s ridiculous if it’s not possible.
Hello,I’ve 4 Sonos Play1 and I’d like to buy a new Gen 1 o Gen 2 to use Apple Air Play, will I be able to play my music using Apple Air Play to all the the 5 speakers
Hello- I have searched the forum and haven’t seen an answer to this: How do you add multiple WiFi networks to Sonos Move? I have a SonosNet setup and the Move is the only WiFI connected Sonos device. I have multiple Wifi networks due to the area I am covering with different SSIDs, all on the same subnet. SonosNet reaches far corners due to the mesh, but a single WiFi network won’t. I read that Move can store credentials for up to 16 networks, but how to you add those additional credentials? The solutions I’ve seen involve multiple Sonos systems (which I do not have), change all access points to same credentials (which I don’t want to do), or factory reset the Move and re-setup Wifi when out of range (which makes the Move pretty immovable). Thank you.
Hello community. I'm excited to join the Sonos community having recently purchased the Arc, Gen 3 sub, and a more recently 2 x Play 1 SL. I have set everything up and it is playing excellent. My setup is the usual home theatre setup with the 1 SLs’acting as rear surround speakers. But what I wanted to also do, but can't seem to find a way to do it, and after searching the forum/google still no clear answer. Currently, all products are allocated to one room and they appear as arc+sub+rs+rlWhat I want do is in addition to using the SLs as surround, I also want to be able to use them, and them only as stereo speakers where they are placed. ie If I want to play music only through them and not the arc or sub, then to be able to do that. I have tried to create separate room, adding/removing different products etc, but to no avail. If I chose another room, and then chose "remove sub", it removes it completely from my system, and it doesn't even appear in the original room where everything was
I have Sonos Arc, Sub Gen 3 and 2x SL for surround sound. When I play sound through my TV its not that good but when I play through the app on my phone its brilliant!same song through TV and same through phone got huge difference in quality!!!does anyone know, what to do??? TV- Samsung Q80T- 2020 (Using e-arc)
I’m trying to do an upgrade and click on Request a shipping label and get the message ‘Missing Information - Please update all required fields in your profile and try again’. But ALL the fields in my profile are now filled in and I still get the message. How do I get past this Missing Information message?
Was wondering if I should sell them and upgrade to the Sonos One?
I have an analog cassette deck I’d like to play through a single Sonos Arc speaker (+/- Sub). I’d also like to be able to play my TV sound through the Arc as well. I know I can connect the TV direct to Arc via HDMI or optical out, but should I utilize the AMP versus PORT to mediate the connection from the analog cassette deck to the Sonos Arc? Is there an advantage or reason to connect the TV to AMP rather than directly to ARC (not an option with PORT I presume as PORT doesn’t have HDMI input). I presume the other advantage to AMP over PORT would be being able to in the future wirelessly connect to Sonos architectural speakers? basically just trying to verify that AMP and PORT would play wirelessly to Sonos Arc, and if using AMP, whether it’s better to route TV into the AMP along with the cassette deck, or just patch the TV directly into Arc. thanks!-JFish
I was forced to buy a Beam for my TV as I couldn’t readily connect my TV to my pair of Play1’s and Sub in the same room. I’d like to be able to automatically (or very easily switch) to have my Sub connect to whichever setup I’m using at the time, the TV and Beam or Music on my Play1’s. I realise I can go into the Sonos app and switch the sub but this is slow and awkward. Is there an easier way?
HiI am replacing my PlayBar with a Sonos ARC and have discovered that the mounting kit of the latter is much slimmer than the former. Therefore, once fitted, I am going to be left with holes in the wallpapered wall (this is a VERY bad situation for me to explain to my wife).I will be looking to get a slim strip of metal to fix along the top of the SONOS mounting kit to hide the holes, but will need to get it spray painted. Can anyone advise what the RAL Colour of the Black Sonos ARC is?Thanks
Why isn't there a jukebox mode available? There have been plenty of requests over the past few years. I can't be only one who is driven mad by party guests ruining the vibe by putting an entire album on instead of just the required track. Can you give us a date when this is likely to released as a beta and I'd be happy to have a house party to test it for you?
Hi- New to the community here. My question:I have an older Connect Amp that currently powers 2 pair of wired outdoor speakers and 3 Sonos One networked speakers indoors. I am looking to add a subwoofer and a soundbar. Will my existing Connect Amp power these new additions?
