I decided to purchase a Sono Move a little over a week ago and so far I am extremly dissappointed. Sales blurb states 120hrs battery life in STBY, 10hrs playback. After fully charging and setup I’ve been lucky to get 2 days (48hrs) when in stby (power button on back pressed and all lights off) with a couple of hours playback. It also randomly switches itself back on after being set to stby. A few days ago I fully charged it, switched off the mic, set it to stby and the next morning, some 10hrs later, it was already down to less than 60% charge remaining after no playback. Presently I’m recharghing every other day with maximum of 5hrs playback.I love the speaker but it’s battery life is at best rubbish, even my power hungary smartphone lasts at least 2days.Is my speaker/battery faulty or is this normal? If that latter it will be returned for a refund.
HI, I have a play bar and 2 play 1’s set on my living room TV. I use optical feed from the TV direct to the play bar. we have a problem that intermitently the sound changes from surround to what seem like music ambient play setting, so the vocal audio etc is sent to all three speakers, then at a random time ti will revert back to normal surround. So damn annoying!!! :-)Any ideas would be greatly welcomed!!! pleeeeeeeasecheers ALan
Hi everyone, after searching high and low, I managed to set up the Sonos Arc as part of a 5.1 system to play perfect with the OLED65B9PLA and also using the Zappiti HDR 4K Pro as a player. I thought to share these settings with any Google searchers.OLED65B9PLA SettingsConnect the Arc using the cable included to HDMI 2, which is the eArc port. Turn the Arc on.The TV should, itself, now output sound to the Arc. Go to sound settings on the TV and under the sound output options for external speaker, select Passthrough (which will send the signal without any decoding from the device you are playing from, in this case the Zappiti, to the Arc). Also turn on eArc.In the more sound options, you can also set sound input for the device connected to each HDMI port. I have set all these to bitstream. With these settings, using the TV:You should be able to play any sound from any app on the TV itself perfectly. Try Atmos from Netflix, it should show up on the Sonos app properly, or even from the Appl
I have been searching for this question/discussion on this forum but haven’t found it. What I have found is the opposite; going from music playback back to tv audio without restarting the tv. When I am listening to music on the Sonos or if the tv is already on and I am playing music, I will sometimes want to see or hear what’s going on on tv. If I switch the audio to tv or start the tv, the audio switches to tv and then when I want to continue listening to music, I have to start the playback from the beginning of the playlist, queue or radio. I find this rather annoying as I can never get to listen to any playlist to the end. I would like an option to continue music playback at the very point the switch was made to tv audio. It should behave as if I paused the music and then resumed playing it. Does anyone know how to achieve this or am I the only one that wants this?
Hi everyone, I have written about the work-arounds I have used to dealt with DTS (for the PlayBar at the time: and DTS-HD for the Arc: Since the Arc now supports multi-channel LPCM (only through eArc), I am thinking of converting all the DTS-HD tracks to LPCM. I would welcome any thoughts or knowledge on this topic from other users!!The reason I want to do this is, as per my thread above, the best work-around I found was converting all DTS-HD tracks to Dolby Digital Plus (E-AC3) 970kbps, which was the highest quality of sound I could get the Arc to play in DD+.For these conversions, I used Make MKV to digitise my discs and then use XMedia Recode to add a new default audio track for every DTS-HD sound track, which was DD+. I retained the DTS-HD track as second audio track so each movie had the original audio.Anyway, I have tested this using LPCM as the primary track instead. In comparison to the DD+ tracks:There appears to be no bitrate limitation -- so at least from a data point of vie
After resetting my whole system i have not reconnected med Sonos Amp to my windows computer. But now the music don't play over the stereo. I am using jack cables like before. Before it would just autodetect that I played music on my computer and fire on the Amp.Is there a setting I am missing to turn on after my reset of the system?
anywhere an album title appears i would like to see the year. it is information i desire, and almost anything that plays music besides sonos provides this information. thanks.
i constantly will want to know what song recently played and don’t make it to my device by the time the song ends and then i can no longer see who it was. i would appreciate a recent history list somewhere so i could see the most recent 10, 100, whatever songs that just played. thanks.
BTW, SONOS ARC with the sub is best investment I’ve ever made. funny, I’m watching Mission Impossible: Fallout on FX….and the sound with the bass on the Wendy’s commercial sounds better than the movie. Some channels just suck
I'm looking to purchase the Sonos Arc Dolby Atmos system. I have a few questions first. 1) Can I purchase directly from the website? If so, does anyone know if I pay in instalments or with credit? Are there any payment options beyond paying upfront?2) Apparently they are out of stock. Any idea when they typically get more in stock?3) I'm unsure about what to do in terms of placement. At the moment, my current soundbar sits on top of a TV unit, in front of the TV, but the soundbar isn't tall enough that it gets in the way. Unfortunately, the Sonos bar is tall enough that it will block the bottom of my screen. So, I can either put my TV on the wall (which I don't want to do) or I can put the soundbar on a shelf underneath the top of the TV unit. I've read that the soundbar fires upwards, so I'm guessing that it has to be in a position where nothing is directly above it?
Anyone else ordered a sub from sonos website and still waiting just about to hit 6 months no communication from sonos have to keep contacting them and everytime get told in a few days will be dispatched been given at least 10 different dates. So just want to see if anyone else are having the same issues ?
Problem: Pixel XL (smartphone) was connected to my system via SONOS S2 for about 3 weeks working PERFECTLY. Now Pixel XL won’t connect and I can’t find any way to reconnect it even using all my old S1 tricks. Background: I upgraded my system from S1 to S2 using my Pixel XL phone. It was used to perform the system upgrades and first to get S2 app added and S1 app removed. Afterwards, functioning perfectly! Been using it successfully without any issues for around 3 weeks now.Delay to Upgrade: Not that anyone needs an explanation, but I replaced our FireHD 8.1 (2017) with a FireHD 8.1 (2020) to use as a SONOS controller for guests/petsitters. I was holding off migrating the system/rooms to S2 until either: SONOS would actually show mercy to us long time users as first they were hinting and eventually did drop support for FireOS 4/5/6; or, I had a replacement device so that our houseguests wouldn’t be without a controller! So, upon receipt of my upgraded tablet and after a white-knuc
HiCan I suggest the following changes to the Android S2 app, please? Please make the mute button bigger. I have to hit it two or three times for it to activate.S2 ScreenshotPlease make the app load quicker. It takes a full 7 seconds for the app to load and if i navigate away from the Sonos screen, it has to load all over again. This is very frustrating when I am working on multiple apps. If I setup a group of speakers all linked to my Beam and for one reason or another I need to mute this, the group gets broken and I need to set it up again. Thanks for you support. Arrowmaker
Over the years I have bought Sonos Play 5’s x 5 (Gen 1). 1 x Move, 2 x Amps + 2 of the latest Amps, 2 x Play 1’s and 1 x Play 3’s and Playbase. In short invested a lot of money and much of it doesn’t seem to work these days. I now have 2 Apps to run the system, is SONOS crazy? So disappointed on the so called progress, I should have stuck to my British Cyrus system as this is now American junk. The real question is there anyone out there that will buy it off me and I suspect the answer is NO?To say I am disappointed with the performance is an understatement. I suggest the App software writers should be sacked and someone who knows what they are doing write an App that all components work satisfactory under.Did I say I am disappointed, YES I AM?
I just bought this because of Apple Music support. I have set up Google assistant and when I say hey Google play …. on Apple Music it says “not supported”. I have also added the speaker to my Apple home and when I use my Apple Watch and say “hey Siri play …. On Sonos” (I’ve named it Sonos via Apple home) it doesn’t work. Any ideas? Or do I just subscribe to Spotify for direct support?
I’ve got to setup five Galaxy Tab 8’s tomorrow which require ability to play local music stored on the device. 4 months ago i know this wasn’t possible - has there been any updates that have fixed this before i spend ages trying to configure them. If not - suggestions at best work around would be appreciated as i don think my client will be happy if i tell them they need 5 music servers too :(
I have recently moved into a new apartment. The seller left behind what must have been a quite costly audio system installed ca. 2010. The heart of it is a Niles GXR2 receiver. It is connected to speakers installed in the walls or ceilings of multiple rooms. There is a handheld Niles controller on a charging base that enables you to select the rooms that will play and control volume. The system as set up has just three inputs labeled on the controller: ipod, xm, and fm. There’s no ipod there, nor do I have (or want) an xm subscription. The fm does play, but the reception is very poor. I brought from my last residence a Sonos Connect unit that can stream music and radio broadcasts from the internet. I have gone through the setup procedure and the Connect unit appears to be receiving our home wifi. I now would like to connect it to the Niles receiver. The Sonos Connect unit has left and right analog outputs. It will be the only music source. Thoughts invited on how to
HelloI haven’t found any real world responses in the community regarding using dual Sonos subs. That said here is my take on the subject. I’m not going to provide information on how to properly position Sonos dual subs as I believe Peter Pee does an excellent job of explaining how to get the best listening experience. You can listen to his recommendations on the subject at this link .Basic components: Arc, Beam, Playbar, Playbase or Sonos Amp bonded to a Sonos Gen3 sub and then adding a second Sonos Gen2 or Gen3. For ease of setup assuming you have a Sonos Gen2 sub already I recommend removing it, add the Sonos Gen 3 and re-add the Gen2.Straight away let me say that using dual subs is AWESOME. IMO what you should expect is not a lot of increased volume. What you will get is a more immersive experience. Using a single sub I heard the rumble of an explosion...now I FEEL it to a much greater degree. The subs are at 90 degrees to my Arc spaced 12 feet apart (inside measurement) along the
Okay I have a Sony TV with an arc HDMI port. I recently bought the Sonos ARC and an UHD Blueray player with two outputs a separate video and an audio output. I can connect the Sonos ARC to the HDMI arc port and the BD video output to a TV HDMI port. Where do i connect the BD audio output to. I have a three port switch. At the moment I am not getting Dolby Atmos sound from any of the Blueray discs that have Dolby Atmos printed on the cover. A simple sketch would be appreciated.
My TV is an lg-OLED55B7V, my Arc is plugged in to the hdmi-arc. Issue is that I get occasional micro-stutter, like a half second break, every now and then, whenever Audio In displays as Dolby Atmos (DD+).it's not consistent or repeatable. I can watch an entire episode of Briderton on Netflix and it's perfect, re-watch the same and there is the stutter. Sometimes it seems to start stuttering only after I skip scenes.Expanse Season 4 on Amazon seems especially bad, but again I can re-watch episodes or scenes and the experience is different.I struggle with the notion that the TV isn't passing the audio correctly as I can get through whole shows with no stutter. I have various audio out options but none of them seem to make a difference. In a different menu I can select PCM instead of Auto, but then it drops to 2 channel.Understand the True-HD codec needs eArc, but questions please:a) how can I find out the codec in use by the source at any one timeb) why does Netflix detect that I'm Atmos
Sony Bravia KDL-60NX720 connected to the Beam will send audio to the beam only if I use an app within the TV such as Pandora. I get no audio from either a cable box or a Fire TV Cube. Both are connected to the TV using HDMI cables. I get the same results whether I use the TV HDMI ARC to the Beam or the digital audio cable with adapter to HDMI in the Beam. I feel like I've tried every setting in the TV settings and I'm getting no results. Diagnostics when sound is coming from Pandora app in the TV using digital audio is 801032938. Diagnostics with no sound when playing YouTube from the Fire TV Cube is 1960275942. Diagnostics with no sound from cable box is 484444563. Switching cable to the Sonos supplied HDMI cable and cable box input still no sound, test code is 681063180. Any suggestions?
Setup: LG CX 55, Sonos Arc, 2 x One SLI’m experiencing random audio drops, or quietens, on my Arc. I have the status light disabled but, when the sound drops, the status light comes on for the duration. It usually lasts less than a second and then audio returns to normal. After much searching, I’ve tried everything suggested to resolve this (quality HDMI cables, rebooting everything etc). Currently, the Arc is wired into the network (the One SLs using WiFi), and the CX is connected to the Arc via eARC. All software/firmware is up to date.I thought that perhaps Alexa was picking up something that sounded like it’s wake word, but it’s definitely not this.Has anyone else seen this specific issue, or does anyone know how to stop this? I’m guessing most people have the status light on, and so wouldn’t see the white light coming on briefly? Thanks in advance...
So I think there is an issue with the arc while in eARC mode and lip sync while playing LPCM content I have tested on an LG C9, Sony 900H and a Sony A8H. On all of them when my Apple TV is set to LPCM output, I get lip sync issues on some content. If I change it to Dolby Digital or get the Sony to convert to DD+ it’s in sync. it seems like there is an issue with the lip sync compensation that eARC is supposed to have when using LPCM.
Starting last night my connection to Amazon music is failing. I have an active Amazon Prime account. I have deleted, re-added, and re-authorized the Amazon service in Sonos multiple times. I have had one of my (5) SONOS ONE G2 speakers connected via ethernet cable for SEVERAL months without trouble. My home internet configuration has not changed in months. I use the Amazon stations daily. Still getting the same message: “Unable to play “ANYSTATION” - the connection to Amazon Music was lost”. I have submitted a support diagnostic to Sonos. The confirmation number is 833045471. Please advise.
Hi, does anyone have any recommendations for sonos 1 placement as rear speakers in the living room setup pictured. Ceilings are 3m high and the room extends to the left of the listening position a few meters more than what is pictured, meaning that the home theater setup is a few meters off center in the room left to right. I imagine the placement in the kitchen (B) being better for music filling the room, but are they too far away from the sofa, and too close to the ceiling and walls?
