Trying to connect Amp to Apple HomeKit. HomeKit no longer allows you to add an accessory that isn’t discoverable. It use to give you a list of gives compatible devices where you would find the Sonos products. You now need a manufacturer “Setup Code”. What is this code for Sonos and where can I find it?
I’m looking to enhance my smart home setup by integrating my Sonos speakers with other smart devices. What are the best methods or tools for achieving seamless automation between Sonos and various smart home systems? Any tips on compatibility, configuration, or specific devices that work particularly well with Sonos would be greatly appreciated!
i want to listen to my own Music downloaded on Music app on my iPhone. and I want to hear it from my loudspeakers set up to my Sonos Connect. Once that was possible but Sonos closed that. can you make that possible again ?
Sonos customer service tried to help me today (for crappy app problems with the speaker!). Now two of our other smart devices won’t connect to our Network. Does anyone gave a guess of what the Sonos rep might have done, so i can undo it?
Hi, since Denon managed to adopt Siri to their speakers, while using at least one homepod in the system, are you also planning to catch up? Thanks in advance, Thomas
Gracias. Moderator Note - Translation by Google:I can't connect my Somos Arc with HomeKit, when I try I get a message that AirPlay couldn't connect. Make sure my iPhone is connected to Wi-Fi. I have a ZP100 (very retro I know) 🤣 which is in a standard Alexa Group (NOT a speaker Group) with an Alexa Echo deviceIt’s set up WIRELESSLY to play all music through the external speakers connected to the ZP100 rather than the Echo.So Alexa’s spoken responses to any questions we have are routed through the Echo which is as I expectIf our request is radio/Sonos related the resulting music is played through ZP100 and external speaker again as expected. If we issue a voice command to the Echo while the ZP100 is actively playing “Ducking” occurs for the duration of the interaction again as expected, so far so good! The one thing that is puzzling me is that when our Ring Doorbell is triggered the alert on the Echo plays the “Someone's at the Door” alert that we’ve set up but no ducking occurs on the ZP100 which makes the option to “Answer Front door” voice command that we may choose to issue just a little more complicated because of the background noise from the unducked ZP100 To get aroun
I have a new Homey Pro I can not get it to pair with Sonos. Do I need a hub or some other item to connect? any help will be appreciated. I am a novice it this.
I live in Italy and here Android users are much more that the Android users that are in the USA…Personally all my family have an Android device, like Google Pixels, and all the house have integration with Google Assistant and Google Home. We are a Google Family. We bought a Sonos Move for have a portable speaker with a gorgeous sound, and I can confirm that it have, but we hear the lack of the Google Chromecast built-in integration. In fact the Chromecast built-in feature is a great opportunity for Sonos, we think, because in this way Sonos Speakers can appear in Media controls of Google Home and so can be controlled by all the people that live in the house. Also Chromecast built-in have plenty of integration with some services that made things really easy. So, we decide that for now Sonos for us it can be only the Sonos Move or the Sonos Roam that have also the Bluetooth, because we need it for limiting the lack of the Chromecast built-in functionality. But we appreciate that in the futu
Are there any connectivity issues with Orbi mesh 754? Thinking of replacing my system.
Is it just me but the latest Sonos release is nothing but painful when it comes to integrations with anything other than Sonos. I have noticed integration with Alexa not behaving consistently or at all, and integrations with Samsung smartthings also failing and not reliable. This is pretty much made Sonos integration with Alexa routines and with smartthings routines pointless. Is anyone else experiencing the same issues? Anyone with any workarounds?
Is there a way of connecting a Sonos Era 300 to ring with a third Gen Ring doorbell works on some of my other devices but not my Era 300s?
My desktop app has failed to update - the help page says delete it and re-download - can anyone tell me where to download this from pleas as cannot find any links at all?Has anyone else had the same issue?
How do I set up Sonos in my apple homekit?I could do this in the old app but cannot find how to in the new one.
Hi guys,I have some similar needs for a PA system, but I simply need to broadcast my voice message to the Sonos Amp. Delaying a bit of time to broadcast the notification is not a problem. Are there currently any Apps on PC or Phone that can do this? If so, please suggest it to me.I found the Sonofy app but haven't seen many reviews about this app.
Sonos would gain new customers by integrating Home Assistant voice compatibility into its speakers, and as with many open source projects, there are many qualified people in the community.A large portion of users would buy a Sonos speaker if it could include their voice assistant! Should Sonos consider this question?Especially since Sonos won its lawsuit against Google (patent infringement), and the next one will be Amazon, with Alexa. How will Sonos speakers continue to be compatible with "OK, Google" (which doesn't work for me!!!) and "Alexa" in the long run?Google has already withdrawn 17 features since the end of January 2024. Google and Amazon are refocusing on AI for home connectivity, either with new products that will be compatible with their AI, and new apps, which will undoubtedly be incompatible with Sonos speakers, as Google refuses to pay royalties to Sonos to integrate its patents into its own connected speakers.I'll let you guess what is likely to happen... And what will
Hi,I would love my Sonos to start playing when I enter my bathroom. Is there any easy integration with motion detectors, that can trigger/ stopp Sonos PlayOne?Thanks a million.Leif
Is it me or is Sonos integration within Homekit just sad/stupid? I can’t really do much in Homekit (except turn it on/off) with Sonos. I can’t control it or even simply see what’s playing. I can’t set an alarm in Homekit and tell Sonos what to play for the alarm (a Spotify playlist for example) so adding it to a scene is useless. It’ll just resume what was last playing in the Sonos app which is stupid. What I listen to at night is vastly different from what I want to wake up to. Even when I Airplay to the speaker from my laptop that doesn’t even register as playing anything in Homekit. It’s almost as if it’s just a placeholder in the HK app so I don’t understand why it’s there taking up space. Am I wrong? As solid as the Sonos app is the way it works with Homekit is pretty bad. I have a fully updated Sonos One FYI and a fully updated MBP.
Is it possible to make my Echo Show play the same song as my Sonos speaker? I already set it up so that the Echo Show can play songs on Sonos with voice control.
The apps HomePod allows to set automation depending on people present in the house-hold. On the other hand, playing music with a timer is much easier in S2 app, than with Apple where you have to set an extra timer with action "Stop Playing". Using AppleMusic finally allows me to add a song I like directly to one of my play lists. When I used the S2 app, then I had to remember the name of title and search it in AppleMusic or run Shazam. That always struck me as odd. On the other hands AppleMusic doesn't play radio stations like my local ones. S2 could play radio, etc. from so many services. Sonos Radio as a "free" service is actually very good. Being limited to AppleMusic goes beyond the choice of streaming services: Being limited to AppleMusic means that you have to launch audio books or radio stations from different apps and Sonos is more integrative. Changing volume via buttons at the phone is possible from Apple Music, if you started song from your iPhone/iPad, else it requires goi
I used iPhone and MacBook air (M2) to play apple music and Spotify, and the sound is perfect from Sonos Era 300 when using airplay in the app of these. But when I used the sound output from my MacBook sound setting, the sound turned to be broken and jerky. How could I fix this problem.I had update MacBook to the latest version, and when airplay the sound to bose portable home speaker. It works well at that device…….
Last year, my turned-off Apple TV worked fine for me to run automations and play music on my SONOS Arc. but for some time now it is no longer able to execute that way.
We have six Sonos speakers on S2: 2 PlayBars (3 & 4 years old), 4 Play:1s (3-5 years old). I realize they were all bricked by Sonos, a fact that really peeves me off because now I’m stuck with an expensive speaker system that to my knowledge was never bricked before. I chose PlayBars just as S2 was being introduced because I was told by the salesperson that I could never run them in the same groupings as my older speakers, thus getting newer, lower-quality sound bars would make all of my Play:1s useless. Our smart home system is Apple HomeKit, using the latest AppleTV as our hub. I don’t care about creating automations in HomeKit with Sonos. Wired systems aren’t an option as we live in an antique home. While it’s impossible to add Airplay2 to my older speakers. can I somehow link my speakers to an inexpensive hub so that I can Airplay2 to all or some speakers and bypass this terribly outdated and awful app? I’d prefer not to buy a new Sonos speaker and split my system, an untenable o
Hi,Since yesterday, all IFTTT Sonos applets (used for about 2 years) no longer work. I have now “reconnected” the Sonos service in IFTTT several times. Connection fine. When creating a new applet I get the following error message:“The operation could not be completed (IFTTT.NetworkError.Error 1)”Is IFTTT out of service from Sonos end? Does it work for others. Thanks for feedback.
GRRR. I had an issue with controlling my Play 1 and Play 3 with Smartthings and Alexa. My iPhone normally is paired with Smartthings and will pause my three Sonos devices when I leave the house and play them when I return. Recently, I noted that they were not responding to routines set in Smartthings, both scheduled events and proximity events generated when I leave or return. One of the solutions I read was to delete and then reinstall with Smartthings. Well..that was a bust because now I can’t reinstall them. Smartthings says that I must have a hub. Well, I have a Sonos Bridge. I noted that none of them are now “discovered” by Alexa even though I have the skill enabled. Any ideas?
