I’ve got a Sonos one, and both Alexa and Siri up and running. I’ve got my Hue lights coming on automatically when I get home. All good. Except I’d really like a selected playlist (or anything for that matter) to start playing also. I have ecobee sensors and geo fence, if that’s relevant. Any ideas?
I'm confused by this IFTTT applet. I want to stop all music on ALL Sonos devices if ANY Nest Protect detects smoke. I'd assume this is what most people want to happen in an emergency, however the applet only allows you to select one Sonos device to stop and one Nest Protect to use as a trigger! Am I missing something obvious? Presumably you can't have multiple versions of the applet for all the different permutations?
Recently purchased 2 x Ones to replace my Echos. So Alexa is already setup and configured to work with my Hue lights. The new One’s work well with the Hue Scenes, whole rooms go on and off easily. However, if I choose to pick one specific light to turn on or off I get: “XXX isn’t responding. Please check network or power...” The lights are all active in the Alexa app and I can turn them on/off from there. Help would be appreciated ?
I finally got my Smartthings and Sonos working together - I figured out much of it the hard way - lots of trial and error and internet research, Hope my posting below helps guide others who might be struggling to get their Smartthings integration working. My system: * Smartthings hub (IM6001-V3P01) * Smartthings Classic app on Apple iPad * Sonos Controller (ver 9.3) on Windows 10 * NetGear AC1900 Nighthawk wireless router * 1ea Sonos Boost * 1ea Playbar (Living Room) * 2ea Play:5s (Living Room) * 1ea Sub (Living Room) * 1ea Play:5 (Kitchen) * 1ea Sub (Kitchen) * 1ea Playbase (Bedroom) * 2ea Play:5s (Bedroom) * 1ea Sub (Bedroom) * 2ea Play:1 (Office) * 1ea Play:5 (Office) Problem: Smartthings / Samsung Connect (Jan-26-2019 download) would not recognize my Sonos system. How I resolved: 1.) Samsung Connect app would not let me add my Sonos gear to Smartthings. I therefore installed the Smarthings Classic app to add my Sonos gear to ST. 2.) Before adding my
Hey folks. I have two HomePods and am looking to get a vinyl turntable soon. Of course there are no line ins on these speakers but I do like the sound quality. My question is, if I were to get a Play:5 and use the line in with the turntable, could I then stream this to the HomePods or just to other sonos speakers? I figure that any signal being pushed out via airplay 2 needs to be coming from an Apple device, most logically a HomePod. This wouldn’t be an issue if the HomePods showed in the sonos app for me to route the line in signal to, but from what I understand these HomePods don’t show in the app. Further from this, does anyone have a multiroom vinyl solution that doesn’t involve a Mac or iOS device taking in a line in signal and pushing this out with airplay? Thanks
Sometimes I'm just listening to music, reading a book or surfing the web, and completely forget what time it is. I wish Sonos would lower the music volume and tell me "It's 11PM". That alert could be manually set up, or come from outlook/google calendar, or even come from Google Now/Siri/Cortana
I have 7 Sonos dotted around my house. I enjoy the music filling the house so generally have "Play Everywhere" set, have all speakers in the same group and simple adjust the volumne as required (including muting rooms where I don't want music). I want the Sonos in the toilet to turn on when I enter the bathroom and turn off when I leave afterwards. If other speakers are playing then I would like the toilet speaker to simply "unmute" and then "mute" again, joining the music in the rest of the house. If other speakers are not playing the I would like JUST the toilet speaker to "play" and then "pause" (I don't want other speakers to emmit sounds). - The logic is simple however I need to know whether the other speakers are playing or not. - And I need to have the ability, based on this info, to either "Play/Pause" the toilet speaker or "Unpause/Pause" JUST the Toilet speaker Does Sonos API share this information And what tool would allow me to control it? (Triggers w
I have been having some difficulty getting all of these to work together. I initially wanted to ditch the harmony hub and remote and control everything through the beam + alexa using the HDMI ARC port, but the sonos was only able to turn my tv on. Everytime I asked alexa to turn off the tv she says "ok," but nothing ever happens. Prior to setting up the beam, I had this working no problem with alexa and the harmony hub. I was able to turn the tv on and off without any issues. Now, I am completely unable to turn off the tv using alexa. I am trying to get alexa to ignore turning the tv on and off using HDMI ARC, but I cant seem to figure it out. I have an LG tv and if I turn off simplink the auido out to the beam no longer works. I might just have to reset the beam, get it to work with my echo again, and then try setting up the beam from scratch. Any suggestions?
I have just installed the Hue Sync App on my iMac and can sync the lights to music, video etc playing on the iMac. However I never use my iMac to play music, video etc apart from my iTunes Library which is played via sonos. Is there and Applet on IFTTT or maybe a skill on Alexa that can do the same a Hue Sync?
Hello! I have tried adding my speakers to my Smartthings system dozens of times and the device is not found. Is it necessary to install some SmartApp before doing the search of the speakers?
Hi and thanks in advance: I have 2 Sonos Ones, a Play 5, a Playbar and a Playbase. I just got a HomePod. Partially because I was curious and particularly because I am the 1 person who prefers Siri to Alexa. Simple question: If I start music on Sonos is there any way for me to tell the HomePod to play that same music? It seems that the answer is no, but just wanted to double check. I know I can go the other way (have Sonos start playing music I started on the HomePod), which is really very cool. FWIW, my house is an open floor plan and I am getting no latency issues between the Sonos and the HomePod. Sounds great.
I have three zones, 5.1, and 2 2.0. I want to use a single Onkyo reciever (RZ830) with three Sonos connects to play three different streams at the same time. Is this possible? Has anyone connected two or mor connects to a single reciever?
Google Assistant is finally coming to the Sonos One and Sonos Beam It's a CES miracle. A lot of announcements have already come out of CES 2019, but without a doubt, this is one of the most exciting yet. At a press briefing on Tuesday, January 8, Google confirmed that it's finally bringing the Google Assistant over to the Sonos One and Sonos Beam. An exact date has yet to be revealed as to when the rollout will begin, but it looks like we've finally reached the finish line. If you don't have a One or Beam, Google says that "earlier speaker models" will also be updated with Assistant support, but right now it's unclear if all previous Sonos speakers will eventually get the Assistant or just a select few. https://m.androidcentral.com/google-assistant-finally-coming-sonos-one-and-sonos-beam
I see at IFTTT.com that there is a Recipe to play a Favorite on certain days, certain time in a certain room at a certain volume. It works but I cannot change the Title of it so I’ve got several ALL with the same Title (for different Favorites). I tried to create my own recipe (so I can customize the Title) but I do not find the Volume ingredient. Any insight on getting advanced options? Thanks
Just got an email with this announcement. https://www.yonomi.co/blog/2019/1/17/control-your-sonos-system-from-anywhere-with-our-latest-update I haven't used Yonomi in a while, but this warrants another look I think. I don't think Yonomi is unique in controlling Sonos through the cloud (meaning you don't have to connect to your wifi) but the interface may be preferable to other options. Just from a glance, it may be a good way from setting up predefined group you can control by voice, as an alternative to Alexa groups.
Hi, I searched everywhere and I already tried both Gideon and Yonomi app but without success. I have a Sonos Play:1 in my bathroom and I use Philips Hue as light. I’m looking for a way to automatically start music on Sonos when I turn on the Hue light (and then automatically stop music when the Hue light is switched off). I tried on IFTTT but I didn’t find anything. Anyone could please help me? Thanks.
I can see some old posts re connecting a Google Home Mini to Sonos speakers but nothing recent. I would simply like to be able to walk into home and say "OK Google play music from Spotify on Sonos". Is this possible? If so, how do I do it?
Speaker scenes (https://speakerscenes.com) lets you play, pause, etc your Sonos speakers via a web app and while you're not connected to your home wifi. (You can also setup 'scenes' ie. set groups of speakers.) Let me know if you have any feature requests! (I know I'm still missing things like volume control and adjusting the speakers in a group not via a scene.)
Hello! As the topic says, my Sonos one can’t be found in the Spotify app. I can play Spotify through the Sonos App but I can’t play through Spotify connect. My Spotify account is premium. Also I can’t connect the speaker with AirPlay if that has something to do with the problem. Diagnostic 1755983867
Dear all Earlier, hvem setting up alarm automations in Home assistant, I was querying http://:1400/support/review for the various alarm ID's, that I need for the purpose. It doesnt seem to be listed anymore. Does anyone know another way to identify all alarm ID's, so I can pick the correct one ? Michael
For a variety of Home Automation tasks I would like to know whether Sonos is in "Play" or "Pause" state for the whole group and for each individual speaker. I use SmartThings and Stringify - how can they (or another tool) see the current state of the Sonos?
When Google Assistant eventually makes it onto the Sonos One, will it be possible to integrate with existing chromecast audio groups?
Is it possible to connect a sonos to a web TV without a beam?
So Sonos 1 works great with my iPhone. Shows up in the home app. I can tell Siri to play whatever in the living room and that works fine. My issue is playing content that is stored on my apple watch. The sonos 1 does not show up as a device in the airplay devices on the watch. Only on the phone. Any thoughts?
I’m one of those people who don’t feel comfortable having (specifically) Alexa-powered speakers all over the house. I also had invested entirely in home-wide Play:1s (with a Playbar and Sub to round out the TV) before the Sonos One came out. I’d like Airplay 2 and (eventually) HomeKit support. But it seems like unless I swap out my speakers for Sonos Ones, which would be an expensive endeavor, I’m S.O.L. Swapping out just one won’t do the trick, because — if I understand correctly — each Sonos One can only control the speakers it’s grouped with at any given time. I have 10 zones/rooms that I often group and ungroup from one another. So, if I’ve got to open the app to adjust the grouping first, it kind of defeats the point. Does it stand to reason that Sonos should be able to release a HomeKit Hub device (akin to Wemo or Hue) that would be able to interpret Siri commands on your phone as well as interface with HomeKit, and then relay that out to the appropriate legacy speakers (Play:
