My wife gave me this for Fathers day. I was excited to get it connect to my Sonos system.. I quickly learned that it will not work with the Sonos s1 controller. Well here is the problem I have A lot of money in speakers and amps, None of them are compatible with the new controller including the black amp and the Move. Looking at the compatible list very little of the equipment will move over to the new controller. And it seem that the new equipment will not work with the old. This leaves me in a predicament, I cannot setup the Roam to work with my other home equipment, I have to setup the speaker with the Gold controller. NOTE - you cannot setup Bluetooth until the speaker is registered with a controller….That was not an east task when the gold controller kept trying to upgrade my home system. Finally got it and i have 1 speaker on the gold controller , once connected i could setup Bluetooth. I closed the gold controller and reopened and the system defaulted to trying to upgrade my sy
hello,I just added a sonos move to my system last week. it was working fine until today when it went offline (showing as offline in the app) and i can’t get it back online (even with reboot or find missing product). I am on an Eero pro 6 tri-band mesh here and the house, and i can see the Move connected to the downstairs Eero in the Eero app and active.Pressing the play button on the Move sometimes starts playing a podcast, but it’s not controllable from app as showing offline despite showing online in the eero app. It’s become totally useless. should I return ?Diagnostic - 123101796ISP : XfinityRouter : eero Pro 6Thank you
New sonos Roam, hardly used it yet. Charged it up, came to use it properly and would not switch on. Assume no charge. Plugged into Apple usb c charger so plenty of charging capacity. All I have is a full orange light. Cannot switch on and the app can’t see it? Is this a fault or am I just being an idiot? (Be kind) :-). Also note when I unplug the device I get a flashing orange light? That suggests overheating? But that can’t be it’s not been used!! When I first got it, I synced up to my app played a couple of tunes etc, so this is not a first time install it did work.
Has anybody else tried their Roam with an M1 Mac via Bluetooth? Mine just constantly skips and is quite annoying. Works flawlessly when streaming via Bluetooth from my iPhone or iPad but something is going on with the M1 Mac/Roam combo. Diagnostic Confirmation #: 673498138
Until my replacement for my incompatible Connect arrives from Backorder, I did not want to disrupt my complicated but working Sonos home system in order to install the required Sonos S2 app for my new Roam. Instead, I created a new account with a different email address and on a different Wifi network. I was surprised that the Roam could be the only Room on the account. I had originally thought that I needed to have one additional Sonos S2 compatible speaker. To set up the account, Roam had to be powered on. This arrangement gives me a working Roam, with all of the music services available on my house system. When my Connect replacement arrives, I will probably set up the house system on the Sonos S2 app, allowing for the Roam to be one of the rooms in the house system. In the meantime, I have avoided the nightmare scenarios that have been discussed by the Community. Oh, did I mention that I avoided disrupting my wife's listening experience of her favorite music service, Hearts of Spa
Hello, just wondering if it’s common to have to reset my roam speakers in order to get the charging dock to work? Mind you it has only happened once and probably never again (hoping). I just added a Sonos white charging dock/pad/magnetic flat thing with a cable to my white roam. The black roam had its dock from the beginning and no problems at all but both roams and chargers decided to just come to the conclusion to stop charging from the dock. USB C charging worked fine. so my first instinct was to come here and complain that my stuff is broken I need to return blah blah blah. ok white roam still won’t charge with the dock, it’ll light up orange and then fade away, the app shows a quick charge and then not charging, USB c still works. Diagnostic number 760738273Black one also quit charging from the dock too lol, both are now USB C connected
Is anyone else running into their Move going offline constantly? I had it running for about a week or two switched the bridge and all Sonos appliances over to a new Wifi and now it goes offline constantly. I tried bringing it back online on both old and new Wifi Networks and it won’t stay online on either. Reset with the power, infiniti button onto charger whole nine yards get it to work for about 15-30min then it just stops and it is offline according to the app. Now here’s the fun part I can tap the play button on the Move itself and it will play a station but I have NO control over the station or skipping and nothing from the app as it shows as offline. It’s been about 4 days of this back and forth balogna and I just cant figure out what the heck is happening. Been through every option I can find. Using\not using True play, using\not using voice services updated the app and everything it’s maddening. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I sit here on my patio once ahain with Move playing fine and the iphone App (S1) has no clue about it, just sees the other 6 devices. Wish this was an unusual situation. Put it happens often enuff that I know when I need to run inside to my PC to control the Move. Deplorable situation I would never buy another Move again. When it goes offline its frustrating trying to recover it especially with an uncooperative iphone app. In my alphabet Move comes after Home Theater and before Office…. Where is it??
Sonos seems to be getting more complicated everyday: It used to be so easy.I have 2 room speakers set up perfectly and I added a move with a boost.Everything worked fine then it went down when someone unplugged the router…Re-plugged the router and the rooms came back but I had to reset the move, it came back on and played music for 30 seconds then ‘offline’… this has happened 6 times and I can’t get it to continue. On the app it shows the music playing via the little ‘bars’ but nothing from the speaker after 10-30 seconds… it works for a second then goes offline???What do you suggest?
Can I use the same Sonos app for two homes with two different WiFi configurations? I have our primary home with the Five and two Move speakers on the latest Sonos app. We have a small vacation home that would only need a Roam speaker. I would not bring the Roam into the primary home. It would cradle at the vacation home and be used in the second location only. I would still like to use the Sonos app, and only have access to the Roam when I’m in our vacation home. Is that possible?
Wow I used to admire Sonos - my Play:1, Connect, Playbar & sub all connected through wifi worked great. Now I just spent $400 on a Move and the thing is erratic and useless - the app shows it offline, then it disappears completely, then it re-appears, it plays music for an hour and then it disconnects….when did Sonos give up making products that work? The Move is a $400 piece-of-junk paperweight. I have 2 Asus APs with different SSIDs - no extenders, nothing else - pretty simple. None of the Sonos products are wired. (I mention this because I believe it means there is no SonosNet which I think means that all my speakers are using my wifi network just as Move is supposed to; at least that’s my understanding). After an hour out-of-the-box trying everything I could think of I finally got the Move connected, registered and updated. At this point I thought I was done and had another piece of solid Sonos gear on my network. When powered it down it then appeared “offline”, but when I powe
I have the Roam on an iOttie Qi wireless charging pad [10w], and it charges fine up to 100%. But after a while it will stop charging, and the charge % drops to 0. It seems the wireless charging logic turns itself off after some period of time. To get it to start charging again, all I need to do is remove it from the pad, wait for a minute, then put it back on the pad, and it starts charging again. If have the Roam plugged into USB, then it always remains at 100 % charge. Software is at version 13.1.1. I have a Move and it does not have this problem
I’m continually unable to play to my Sonos Roam via the Spotify app. The Sonos Roam will be grayed out with the message “Can’t play this right now.” I can play to the Roam without issue from the Sonos app. Both apps are fully updated, and all of my other Sonos speakers are available via the Spotify app. My router automatically band steers depending on my device’s location in the house. I was just on with Sonos customer support, who was telling me that I need to turn off band steering to connect to the Roam (and always have my phone on the band that the Roam is on). (It seems like my phone and the Roam may judge network strength / interference differently and so not reliably be present on the same band.)I’m also not clear why band steering would be the issue if I can play to the Roam via the Sonos app, but not via Spotify (including when on different bands).Turning off band steering seems like a bad solution, as I like band steering, feel that router technology is generally moving
For the past two days, my roam turns itself off and the LED light blinks red. Yesterday I was able to read about a reset, but today that is not working. Is there an exact process to the reset? Will I have to do this daily?
Wow,I received a SONOS Move for Christmas 2020. I set up a SONOS account. Annoying, but required. The sound quality is really good. So good that when I read that you can stereo pair 2 MOVES, I bought a second one. Then I discover that it only works using WIFI and service. Disappointed - but buyer beware!I hoped to stereo pair with my bluetooth, but nope. It can’t do it. So I have two bluetooth speakers that sound really good.If the SONOS Move would play my bluetooth songs I would be happy. I notice that the speaker stops playing briefly ( maybe a half of second ) every so often, I read all the comments and suggestions that offer guidance to solve my own problem.Today I documented 100 minutes of SONOS playing bluetooth. Ten times in 100 minutes the sound dropped. Disappointing. The Move cannot even play bluetooth. To compare I tested my old $50 bluetooth speaker on the same bluetooth player. No drop out of sound for two hours. If that speaker sounded better I would listen
HelloMy Sonos Play 5 device is already registered and shows up properly on the Sonos 2 App (iOS).I recently picked up the Sonos Roam and had all sorts of issues with connecting to it via the App. The NFC wasn’t working and it kept on getting stuck during adding it.I finally did get the Sonos (iOS) app to connect and add Roam to my account. However after Roam got added, now my Sonos 2 app doesn’t see the Play5 device. My ipad can still control the Play5 device on the sonos app but can’t find the Roam device.
I just submitted a diag: 15840402, whereby my Move became offline. This is the 2nd time in the past 3-4 weeks that this had happened. The first time powering on and off didn’t help (and I eventually had to factory reset to join the hoisehold).I have just powered off and on again and “Alexa” won’t event trigger the wakeword detection chime now (LED is solid steady white and mic light is on). (waited a while...)now the wakeword is detected but it does not even answer to “What’s the weather?”Submitted another diag: 1654211691Time now is: 17th June 2021 2011 hrs ET (in case I got my diag number wrong - u can look up).DO advise - this is quite frustrating.
I have a new sonos roam and I am very pleased with the speaker. I have other sonos devices in the house and this is not happening on any other sonos device. After about 10 mins I get a clicking noise and I have to reset the speaker to get it to clear. This happens when using the AirPlay and Bluetooth. How can I get Tech support as it becoming annoying and spoiling the experience with the roam.
Like a lot of other people I am deeply frustrated with connectivity of the Sonos Move connected through my mesh wifi network. While I previously haven’t been able to find any consistency in when the move sent offline, disappear from the app or was visible but without any contact, I just now found a reproduceable behavior. If I turned Off my wifi on the phone, closed the app and stood near the router of my mesh system (making sure I would Connect to that and not the satelite) and then turned on my wifi and opened the app all speakers of my system appears incl the move and could be controlled. If I then repeated the above but stood near a sattelite the Move speaker isn’t visible. But all other speakers are and working as expected. the “funny” thing is that in the last scenario that isn’t working the move and my phone is connected to the same sattelite. This problem is ONLY with my move. All other works as expected. my mesh system is Netgear Nighthawk wifi 6 mesh system with router and
I recently bought a Roam for use outside. I’ve paired it with the app, however ever since I’ve done that we’ve had issues with our existing Beam showing up as an audio destination. It just seems to randomly disappear, and turning off the Roam does seem to help it come back. We had zero issues with the Beam until we added the Roam.any ideas?
Hi,I have recently bought the Roam (fabulous), and noticed it has a tendency to glitch its audio. These are very minor audio dropouts lasting (at a guess) a couple of hundred milliseconds, but happen repeatedly. It has happened when grouping the Roam to the Arc (part of Sub+1s setup), when playing TV audio to the Roam, or just music. The Roam is close to lots of Sonos speakers, so range is not an issue. Whilst playing say from Spotify, the Arc setup plays smoothly, but Roam just stutters annoyingly. It’s as if there is interference that Roam is susceptible to, whilst Arc is not.I am only using Sonos app S2.I have had Sonos for over a decade and not had this problem before (except when there were bandwidth / internet issues).I have yet to try with other Sonos speakers - I have a Move and several others to experiment with, but I thought I’d ask if anyone has experienced this with their Roam too? Many thanksAndy
Roam wakes when I open the Sonos app and stays awake. I left it and checked after one hour. The Roam was still on and had lost 5% charge. This was without playing music. It has only ever gone to sleep once by itself.Ideas?PS The product tour has never worked on my iPhone but works on my iPad.
HiI have recently bought a One SL speaker, and 2 Roam speakers. I managed to set up the One SL and 1 of the Roam speakers with no noticable problems. The other Roam speaker however:Keeps going offline after it has been online (and being used) for a couple of minutes I have tried resetting it a couple of times (i.e. long hold on power button, then restart with finger on ‘Play/Pause’ button), but I still have the same problem. Each time I have reset it, a message comes up saying that it is not registered, and each time I register it. I don’t know if that is relevant.Any suggestions?CheersNeil
I have a Linksys Velop Mesh WiFi system and multiple HomePods (3 original HomePods and 3 HomePod Minis). I’ve recently been experimenting with adding Sonos speakers for the portability, and now have a Sonos Move and two Sonos Roams. Setup was fairly easy and all was working pretty well, but I was having some dropouts, particularly when I had all three Sonos speakers playing at various spots around the house/backyard. A Sonos Boost, from what I’ve read, should be a good way to deal with this, creating a dedicated network for the Sonos speakers. I purchased the Boost and connected via ethernet cable to the main node of the Velop system. It showed up in the Sonos app, went through an update, and all seemed good. But...my speakers (the Move and two Roams) will not connect to the Boost, no matter what I do. I’ve power-cycled everything, multiple times. I’ve reset all speakers. I’ve deleted the wifi credentials for the Velop system from the Sonos app, but, oddly, the network seems to reappea
Hi, I have two Roam. They are really nice, but charging them has been a real source of frustration. I originally pre-ordered a Roam along with a Sonos wireless charger for it. All was great and I loved it. I ordered two more along with two more Sonos wireless chargers (one Roam and charger are a gift). The chargers were backordered, so they came just a few weeks ago. So here's my issue: The original Sonos wireless charger had been kinda finicky about charging the Roam after a week or two, ever since I set up the second Roam. I just attributed it to not being 100% properly lining up with the charger base. This got progressively worse then I plugged both Roam into a 24W Belkin 2 A port charging brick (one USB and one wireless charger) and things were better. When the wireless chargers that were backordered came in I plugged it in to the same charger and things seemed fine for a few weeks. Yesterday I noticed my pre-ordered Roam was low on charge and not charging. Here's what I did to tro
