I own an arc, a gen 4 sub, a pair of one sl’s and just bought a pair of era 300’s. How should I setup the speakers in a home theater room? Thanks.

Hi…so I’ll start by saying I have a lot of Sonos and I like them, I don’t love them.  This will be relevant as you read. Up front I have an arc with an original sub and in the back I have 2 era 300s. I love the eras but the arc on its own is lacking. It’s lacking that immersive filling sound up front.  Directly in front it’s good but at an angle I can tell. I tried connecting my original play 1s as a test to see if adding them would help close the gap and from my assessment they do almost nothing in this setup. Sonos doesn’t have a lot surround options so my only real Sonos specific option would be the era 100s. However, many people on forums say the sound difference between that and the play 1 is minimally noticeable. over the summer I bought Bowers outdoor speakers and with it a Sonos amp. The bowers speakers are phenomenal. Heads and shoulders above Sonos.  Once I realized how good BW is that’s why I say I like Sonos I don’t love them.  I’m already in to Sonos for liv

Hello All,am new to the Sonos Family and currently very impressed with speakers. Everything seems to operate correctly with CEC control but i can’t seem to play Dolby TrueHD audio from Plex using a 2019 Shield TV pro. The video plays fine with when using the TrueHD track, does not pass through the audio - there is no sound. The specs indicate that the Arc Ultra can support TrueHD tracks.What am i doing wrong?Also, i believe that the Arc Ultra does not support DTS-HD or DTS-X. Is there a way to trick to system to play those tracks by modifying the HDFury VRROOM setting or are those formats just not compatible with the Arc?Again… thanks for any help or suggestions here.Connection - Shield TV pro - HDFury VRRoom to Arc Ultra and Epson LS11000 separately.Tony  

I’m new to Sonos.  Took the dive with theatre completion: Sub4, 2xEra300s.  Now I have 45 days to see if they are worth the $$$.  I’ve deep dived many conversations here, but still cannot achieve Dolby Atmos.  This reminds me if building my Jeep… all the mixed info and dependencies on component and OS providers - ugh - my head hurts.First Impression:  Adding the sub and surrounds, moving my Arc out from under my TV which may have been blocking drivers and trying to establish Dolby Atmos, but getting from Dolby 2.0 output to Dolby multichannel PCM 2.0 -- the Arc came alive.  Much better, but not good enough to keep the Era300s yet.My system:Samsung QN85QN85BDF- Arc input to HDMI 3 eARC, Sound Output set to same.- External Devices:  Anynet+ (HDMI CEC) on- Expert Settings: HDMI-eARC Mode - Auto,  Digital Output - Auto, Dolby Atmos - on, (Pass Thru not active)Sonos:  Arc, Sub4, Era300 surroundsSource:

I understand that it’s not easy nor convenient to switch between surrounds and stereo pair on the Era 300s. I’m seriously contemplating on returning these only for that reason. Is this something Sonos is willing to accommodate to their users? If there’s any decent chance of this coming sometime even within the next year, I am willing to wait. Just curious if this feature request is on their radar. 

I just bought a Sub 4 to connect to one of my two rooms: living room or Basement tv.  the sub easily connects and disconnects from the living room but I cannot get it to connect to my Arc Ultra in the basement tv room.  any suggestions?

I recently upgraded from arc+ play 1's to arc ultra + era 100I made a quick trueplay with my android app , but i don't know why we can't set manually surround distance ( greyed After the procédure) after that.I doesn't make sense since quick trueplay doesn't adjust listening position ( Don't tell me to do advanced trueplay, it never sets a good listening position between surrounds since years....)

Morning,I’ve taken delivery of a Sonos Arc soundbar to upgrade my Beam (Gen1).  Using the existing cabling (also tried the new cabling in the box) when setting up the Arc everything goes to plan until I get to setting up with the TV (LG Web OS UK6950PLB).  The app advises that no HDMI-ARC is available, but am getting a signal on HDMI 2 from the arc.  I’ve tried restarting the app along with the tv and ARC.  The Beam works fine through my LG on the HDMI port so know this is fine.I’ve also defaulted both the ARC and TV with no success.  Has anyone else had this issue or suggestions on how to resolve? 

Hi there, I have a Foxel iQ4 box, a Sony KD-49X8000H and a Sonos Beam (gen 2) soundbar. I currently have the Beam connected to the TV using the HDMI-ARC output. This configuration appears to work well, but I’m interested in getting the best performance from my system.Q1. Is this the best way to conect the soundbar to the TV?Q2. I have the option of sending audio from the TV to the soundbar in either PCM or compressed Dolby format. Which is the best option to use for the Beam to optimize sound quality?Thanks, Andrew

Hi everyone,I recently purchased a Hisense Canvas 65 Frame TV during the Black Friday sales, it was a great deal! However, I’m now trying to figure out if it will work with my Sonos home theater setup to get Dolby Atmos sound streaming.Here’s my setup:Hisense Canvas 65 (being shipped) Sonos Beam (Gen 2) Era 100s (as surrounds) Mini SubI don’t plan to connect any external devices (like a gaming console or Blu-ray player) to the TV or the sound bar, I stream content directly from the TV apps (Netflix, Apple TV, etc.)When I checked the specs for my new TV,  it has two built-in speakers and it says the surround sound supported is DTS Virtual:X and not Dolby Atmos. If I conenct through eARC, will my sonos equipment enable Dolby Atmos content? I’m getting mixed answers online - some people talk about audio passthrough and connecting

Sonos Location PossibilitiesHi there Sonos folks,I just purchased 2 era 300’s to accompany a Arc Ultra, but I’m having trouble figuring out the best placement and angle. In the photo there is a representation of a couch which will be facing the TV (we are replacing this couch with a U shaped couch). The room is a bit tricky because it’s vaulted in a unique way, my guess would be for the red circles I would want it facing down, but I’m not sure if it would work well. The couch is relatively close to that wall as well, probably 4 feet? It seems like the downward facing driver wouldn’t hit your ears at the right angle? I believe I read that the upside down orientation is now supported via true play and Atmos content, but would love confirmation. Would

Hi! I have a playbase and a new house. I have a router and I first connected the playbase to the network generated by the router. Then I installed a mesh network in the house because the router did not cover the whole thing. Now I am resetting the playbase to set it up with the mesh network. However, in the setup it only offers to connect the playbase to the old network generatesd by the router. The app offers to connect to another network and it shows the neighbours networkw but not my mesh network.i first had this problem with my other sonos products (one and symfonisk) but then they connected to my mesh network. I can only use the mesh network because it is the only one covering the whole house and I have sonos «all over». How can I connect the playbase? Also tried to type in the mesh network name and enter password manually but no luck.

Hi Sonos Community, I’m running into a persistent issue with my setup and would appreciate any advice. My Arc works just fine. It is hardwired to my AV distribution center in the basement, along with 5 amps for different zones.  The HDMI interface on my Samsung Frame TV works flawlessly.  The Problem: ARC refuses to pair with the app. Every single other speaker, amp, MOVE, and random S1s I have around the house all paired long ago, and work perfectly.  whats the deal!?  How do I fix?? Avid Sonos user, so please assume I’ve done all the typical troubleshooting (unplugs, updates, etc).

Hey everyone,after the (terrible) Sonos system update, the (e)ARC connection between my TV and my Sonos Amp stopped working. No sound is played at all and the TV setup in the Sonos app just states, that no (e)ARC connection is possible. As it worked before the update, of course the TV is set to output the sound to the (e)ARC-HDMI-port. Tried turning it off and on again, reconnected the HDMI-cable a couple of times, rebooted the TV and the Amp and even set the TV to factory settings and reanabling (e)ARC-output. No dice.Does anyone has a solution to this? Or do I just have to wait until Sonos fixes this problem? It’s so frustrating...

Hi, I currently have an arc, sub gen 3 and two era 300s. Is there a benefit to connecting the ARC through Ethernet? Does it still create sonosnet and if so do the eras still work?if the ARC is replaced with an ultra does this have do the same?I am a little unclear on this as some info suggests sonosnet does not work with newer models, but if this is true why would you connect the ARC ultra by Ethernet if it does not help with Ethernet sub and surround connection etc?I also have some ones in other rooms, how would the benefit, if at all?Just doing some research before I make any changes 😊

My Sonos Beam Gen2 volume operates perfectly from the app, but when I try to use my TV remote I get an echo.I've gone to the audio settings on the TV and attempted to switch from TV speakers to audio system, but it instantly switches itself back, displaying a message that says: “Audio system is unavailable. Switching audio to TV speakers.”Am I overlooking another kind of setting?

So I have the following speakers and am trying how to best configure what I have to get the most out of the system:(1) Beam Playbar (3) Sonos One SL Speakers (1) Sonos Play:1 SpeakerI Currently have two of the One SL speakers in the back of the room facing the TV in an elevated position and they are set up as surround system (Left and Right) with the beam playbar (Rear Surrounds). I would like to set the other two speakers up in the corners adjacent to the TV and facing the listener. The TV is mounted on the wall in center of the room. I am not sure I can pair the One SL and Play:1 speaker so currently they are just additional speakers that I have to manually control the volume in the app which is annoying. If I need to discard the play:1 speaker should I purchase a refurbished or used One SL speaker to get the configuration I am looking for or go another route? Really tired of having to maually adjust volumes for each speaker

Does anyone ACTUALLY know this?From looking at the exploded diagrams of both noting the Ultra’s driver shapes, especially being that its chassis is slimmer, I asked and thus got ChatGPT’s partial answer:“The mid woofers on the Sonos Arc Ultra are traditionally shaped, following a circular cone design. This design aids in producing accurate midrange frequencies for crystal-clear dialogue and balanced audio output.”And we already know there are only 6 of them on the Arc Ultra (which will arrive here either tomorrow or on Wednesday the 4th). The Arc Ultra is a tremendous performer vs the Arc.  Although the Arc was no slough. Everything is much more expanded especially for Dolby Atmos movies and music (both stereo and Dolby Atmos.)  Dialogue is greatly improved. My media room dimensions are 14 feet wide, 20 feet length with 8 foot ceiling. It consists of the Arc Ultra with dual Sub 4’s (both off center) one front on a parallel plane as the Arc Ultra ; which is 39 inches above floor and 26 inches from front wall. The other Sub 4 is 19 feet to the rear off center. Both subs are 5 inches from the wall (not in a corner).Surrounds are Era 300’s 10 feet from the Arc Ultra and 56 inches apart on Sonos stands. They are 6 inches to rear of seating area on left and right. Yeah, they are somewhat close to seating area, but TruePlay adjusts for an immersive experience.IMO a

Hi!I owned a Arc + 2xEra 300 + Sub gen 3 setup and it was overwhelming on cinematic performance and average on music - I was missing the middle lows in music performance (which are very present on the demo sounds of sonos, so it's likely a DSP thing not hardware).As Arc Ultra promised better bass due to the new sound force technology, I made the upgrade and... well... I am not satisfied at all. Everything sounds the exact same as before. I did trueplay tuning (tried all three variants), EQ setup etc etc.I get even a little better performance turning the sub off in the mid los but then the deep subs are missing of course.I don't get why my SONOS system is performing so bad on mid-lows but only on music... All is perfect on movies... If sonos would only give us more control over music EQ :( That being said, I was asked by ​@Corry P to create a diagnostic. I created even three and made some trouble
