I am building a master bedroom suite with a small home theater area.  I would like to use in wall speakers and Sonos Amps and a subwoofer for the system.  However, I understand the Sonos Ace headphones will not work with the Sonos Amp.  Is there a plan to upgrade the Sonos Amp in the near future to be compatible with the Ace?  If so, I could proceed as planned and just switch out one of the Amps to the newer model when it becomes available.

Unfortunately, Sonos very rarely announces features beforehand, and only when it involves outside partnerships.

Amp came out/announced in 2018, it’s the oldest player they sell. I wouldn’t buy since it’s so old, way past overdue for a hardware update.
