Im buying a complete Sonos home theater system and is choosing between below alternatives. Both will cost me roughly the same so I need som input on what you think I should doAlternative 1: Brand new Arc Ultra, Sub4, and two Era 100s as surroundsAlternative 2: Used regular Arc, used Sub gen 3, and two brand new Era 300s as surrounds.So basically the question is old Arc with Era 300s as surrounds OR new Arc ultra with Era 100s as surrounds. I will have a Sub either way

So I share a library with a bunch of people which is run by a friend of a friend. Intermittently I get buffering issues playing movies and I'm being told it's the lack of DTS-HD/MA codecs that is causing it. This is the message the guy sent me: "The issue is likely your Sonos soundbar like mentioned before. It’s limited codec capabilities, can’t process DTS-HD MA or DTS-X. Suggest trying to stream supported codecs." I use a Sonos arc and a shield TV pro. The Sonos arc is plugged into the eARC port of my Sony Bravia x90l TV. Right now I've changed the shield TV settings audio format to be AUTO and when I check the Sonos app it shows DTS surround. So besides the buffering, it also doesn't sound as good without the DTS-HD. Can anyone with similar experience provide some insights? 

I installed Arc ultra, Sub gen3, and Era 100 today. Everything works except TRUEPLAY. Iphone 14, Iphone 15 pro max, everything is up to date. I only succeeded with my ipad pro, but it's the short trueplay. Trueplay doesn't work with my iphones???

My beam 2 has suddenly stopped working tonight. Was showing spdif. Then I reset my wifi sting which seemed to go ok. No the app is showing no content. I’ve got beam 2 and a couple of Sonos ones connected to my lg g4 Fed up with Sonos lately. Seriously thinking about replacing my set upAny suggestions?

So, I’ve have the very first soundbar Sonos has made along with the some of the surrounds like Sonos 5 speakers.  Unfortunitly,  they were deemed unsupported after a while, so I was unable to make them work. I actually trashed them and it was so hard to see them go.  Just this past year I purchased another set… this time an Arc soundbar + sub.  It’s only been a year and now both also deemed unsupported.  Wow, what a waste of money on my part even though I love the sound they produce.  NOW,  Sonos has a newer Arc Soundbar and Sub, BUT I don’t want to purchase another pair for a crazy amount again!!  It hasn’t even been that long since I purchased my last set. Then to only give me 15% off for another speaker??? fml!! My question … will my Arc and Sub not work too after a while like my original set since they will not support it with new software? 

I am in the process of updating my system. I currently have a Sonos Arc and two Sonos Ones, but I am going to move the Ones to the patio for outdoor listening. Here is my upcoming setup/question - I am planning on using the following components for my home theater in my living room, and would like recommendations on how to set everything up: Sonos Arc, Sonos Sub, Sonos Amp and a pair of 3 way (non-Sonos) ceiling speakers. When I connect the Sonos Amp (with the ceiling speakers), do I connect the amp to the tv or Arc, or do I not connect those via the HDMI Arc connection? I want to have the Arc, Sub, and ceiling speakers auto/always on when I turn on the tv.

I have not purchased a Sonos system yet, but am designing my layout and could use the community’s feedback.  We are completing a remodel where we now have a long great room with Kitchen, Dining, and Living Room. all in a row if looking down the room.  My initial plan is that the Living Room will have a tv with an Arc Ultra Soundbar (this all faces towards the dining/kitchen area).  Above the Dining Table I plan to have a pair of architectural speakers, and above the kitchen island another pair of architectural speakers.My question is can I use the speakers above the dining table as surround speakers for the tv?  I assume this answer is yes, based on my readings you would just set them as surround speakers in the living room I believe.  Where it gets trickier is that we also hope at times to simply play music throughout the entire great room.  Will those ceiling speakers above the dining table play well in this scenario, or require new configuration anytime we go between tv watching w/s

Hi sonos fam,I have a Sony TV with an HDMI ARC output and two Sonos Move speakers (original model) set up as a stereo pair. I'm interested in expanding this setup by adding a Sonos Beam Gen 2 and a Sub Gen 3 subwoofer. My plan is to connect the Beam Gen 2 to the HDMI ARC on my Sony TV.Would I be able to play the TV sound through the Beam Gen 2 in stereo mode and extend that stereo sound to the Sonos Move stereo pair? Additionally, would the Sub Gen 3 function correctly within this setup? appreciate the help~ SoundSeeker ~

Hi all, I have the Sonos Ark with SL1 spks for right and left surround sound behind me. I have the sonos amp and sub as well.My questions is I don't feel that I get much from the Ark upfiring spks!(set to max in app) Could I add two ceiling spks to give me better sound from above? Hi,  I just hooked up my new Sonos Arc Ultra to my Samsung Q90R TV via HDMI port 3 for eARC. All seemed to be working well, but when I play content from an app like Netflix or HBO Max the audio stutters while the video works fine.The settings let me select pass through when I'm sitting on HDMI 3 and then it doesn't let me do pass through when I'm in the HBO Max app, just lets me choose dd or dd+. From reading online should pass through be selected in the HBO Max app? It won't let me do that as it's greyed out when I go into any apps. Is there a fix for this, hopefully something which doesn't require me to buy a new TV? Was really looking forward to enjoying Atmos content. Happy to send a screenshot over too, just couldn't figure out how to do that.Notably youtube works fine, but that seems to default to PCM.

Arc Ultra, Sub 4 and Era 300’sJust set up my system. When I run a Dolby Digital 5.1 sound test “YouTube “( Sonos app says I’m getting Dolby Digital Plus 5.1) the left, center and right are all separate. When it gets to the right rear and left rear I get sound from the Arc Ultra also. Is this normal? I would think all the channels would separate.Am I missing something? 

I have an Apple TV 4K connected to a Samsung TV using an HDMI cable and then another HDMI cable using the Samsung’s HDMI Arc to connect to the Sonos Amp. My Sonos Amp has a KEF left and right channel as well as a subwoofer. I believe my Samsung TV audio settings are correct however I am not sure about the Apple TV 4K… Under Settings > Video and Audio > Audio Format, it defaults to LPCM. However, you have an option to change the format to either Dolby Digital 5.1 or Stereo. Seeing that the Apple TV 4K inputs to the Samsung TV and then uses an HDMI Arc cable to connect to the Sonos Amp, should I leave this setting to the default value of LPCM or should I set it to Dolby Digital or Stereo?  Part of me thinks that this setting is irrelevant because whatever audio format is selected, it passes that value to the TV and in turn the TV passes the selected PCM audio format to the Sonos Amp but clearly not 100% sure. I recently purchased a Sonos Beam Gen 2 with Sub Mini & Era 100 to use as a cinema system.Installation went fine and I am able get a 5.1 feed via the HDMI ARC connection for the DVB broadcasts, when available, and the installed apps (Amazon Prime, Netflix, etc).However, I am unable to get a multi channel sound feed from either my Virgin media stream box or my Blu-ray, both will only provide PCM stereo.Sonos helpline were not particularly helpful once they knew the TV feed was working and despite multiple diagnostic submissions decided it was my settings and offered no potential solution.Despite resetting all my equipment, checking for updates, etc I'm still unable to resolve the issue.Any advice/recommendations would be appreciated as the situation is so frustrating.For reference my TV is a Panasonic TX-50AS600B AND Blu-ray a Panasonic DMP-BD60

I just have 2 Era 100s - I plan on buying an Arc Ultra in a few weeks.When installing do I need to remove Era from app and reinstall them? I know some people have been having issues and it is making me concerned if Era/Sub 3 will work with Ultra.

This is a weird one. I have had an ARC for 2 years and it has been brilliant.Following a recent software update I noticed the sound on Netflix had changed. I checked the  Sonos App and it says movies like 6 Underground are now playing with “Dolby PCM Multichannel 2.0”.Nothing else has changed. The Netflix App is on my Samsung TV and it recognizes Dolby Atmos is available for 6 Underground. Disney+ and Apple TV are both outputting Dolby Atmos, it is only Netflix that is having the issue. I have restarted everything and checked all the settings. When I play the Dolby Atmos title in Netflix, the Sonos App displays “Dolby PCM Multichannel 5.1” for a fraction of a second and then falls back to “Dolby PCM Multichannel 2.0”.Has anybody else noticed this problem?

I have an Arc and want to add two Era 300s as surrounds for a home theater set up; however, my couch is up against the wall of our living room. I can move the couch up maybe 6 or so inches. I can use stands or wall mounts for the 300s but I’m not sure if it makes sense. Can I position the 300s in a way that works or will they be too close to the listening area no matter what I do?

I am looking to go back to Sonos with the new Arc Ultra immersive set. I currently have a Samsung q99-B soundbar with rears on stands facing inwards to my sofa. I enclose a photo to show my rear wall and where my existing ones are. The main problem I see is the rear left, right hand side. As the Eras have drivers left and right side, would the doorway]become a problem, as in, would sound just go through the doorway? Or do I mount them flush? Is the Era too close to the corner? Thanks 

Hi there!Just set up my gen2 Beam and a pair of Threes as rear speakers.Then tried a youtube speaker test for 5.1.When testing, the rear speakers BOTH have equal volume levels.How can I fix this?I also have a pair of Ones that I could exchange if this is a software issue, but I don’t think that’s the problem.

HiCan anyone advise on audio settings on my ps5 pro with a Sonos arc ultra?Currently have ps5 set to av amplifier and 7.1 channels, as well as linear pcm.According to Sonos app that gives me multichannel 7.1.Anything I should change?Thanks

Hello everyone! I experience that when I play sound on the arc ultra, it gets hot on the left side (as seen from sofa) on the back of the soundbar where the vents is! Does anyone have the same issue? I hope Sonos will fix this through a update hotfix./Josef

A new system, connected Arc to TV via wifi, tried setting up sub via the wifi, it goes thru the set up and for finish up with an orange/red light when I power on Any ideas welcome Thx Chris
