Xiaomi F2 + Google Streamer + Sonos Beam glitching out

I have had this problem for weeks now and its driving me ABSOLUTELY insane:

Once I got my Goole Streamer (basically same as Chromecast) I connected it to an HDMI Port on my Xiaomi F2 SmartTV. My Sonos Beam is connected to another HDMI Port (eArc Port).

However, I quickly noticed that the picture was flashing back and forth - HDMI 1 (Chomecast) - black - HDMI 1 - No Signal - HDMI 1.....

I also noticed, that most of the time, if I turn of CEC (which also does not let me control the TV (Sonos) volume anymore), this flashing usually stops a couple seconds after turning off CEC. If I turn CEC on again afterwards, it usually works for some time, until I randomly turn on my TV a couple hours later and its back to the same glitching again..

Has anyone got an idea why this is happening? Its driving ne CRAZY.

Instead of turning off HDMI-CEC on the TV, maybe see what happens if you disable CEC on your Google Streamer instead, if that’s possible. If it isn’t possible, you could try adding a CEC-less adapter between the TV and Google Streamer such as the one shown in this link to see if that might resolve the issue.

Maybe i just said it wrong - I actually turned off CEC on my Streamer. So thats what I am already doing. But by doing that, I am not able to control the volume on the streamer remote anymore. And I really hate, having to have 2 remotes. One for controlling my shows and one for controlling the volume is a no go for me..

If the issue stops and things work okay (apart from volume control), with just CEC disabled on the streamer only, then I suspect the issue lies with the streamer and that it’s attempting to steal away the CEC ‘focus’ from the soundbar.

You could perhaps try powering off everything and wait a few minutes. Unplug everything from the HDMI ports and plug in the Soundbar and the streamer afterwards (once you power the TV back on) and setup their HDMI handshake again and just see if that resolves it - or even try it the other way around.

If it doesn’t work then I’d check with the manufacture of the streamer to see if there are any firmware updates which might resolve the matter - otherwise you may have to resort to using two remotes, or hope a future update will resolve the matter - just wondering if there are any available TV firmware updates too as that might help aswell?

Another thought is to try the Google streamer in a different TV HDMI port.
