Found some varying answers from a historical forum search so I’m hoping to find some current opinions (as well as consolidation of my questions into one thread).
I am looking to build a new system which I’m guessing will be a Beam (Gen 2), a Sub MIni and 2x Era 100s. There is a chance that I might go Sub instead of Sub Mini but I don’t think this impacts my questions:
- I will most likely be looking at wall mounting the surrounds. (This a room renovation so the electricians will put power outlets wherever I ask). Would it be better to have the surrounds mounted on the side walls (but slightly behind the main viewing area) facing inward OR on the back wall facing forward?
- What features should I look for in a TV purchase to make this most compatible for this system?
- Is it correct to say that I don’t need any other components beyond the above for great home theater?
- Assuming the answer to 3) is “yes”, what else would I need if I changed my mind and decided to add any legacy stereo components (such as a turntable, CD player, etc)? Anything? Amp? Same question for video gaming? tStrong possibility that none of these items for question #4 happen in this room but I’m still curious]
Thank you all!
