Help needed from the forum please! My set up - Arc, era 300 (x2) as surrounds and a mini sub connected via eARC to LG G£ tv.  When connected and watching TV content via apple 4K I have no sound on Netflix or Prime apps with 5.1 audio content (atmos works fine) when my sky Q box is switched on, resulting in silence….. If I switch sky Q box to standby - all works fine and apple 4K can switch between atmos and 5.1 sound!!! - anything in atmos works fine. Normal TV works fine, all LG apps work fine, SKY Q fine. I have spent weeks and hours trouble shooting and on to technical support from LG, apple and sonos.I was advised the TV to be faulty so I updated the brand new G2 to a G3 and have the exact same problem. This seems to be an input issue with LG tv’s, all is ok and everything works if sky Q in standby mode, if sky Q switched on and idle, I have no audio if the content on the apple tv is 5.1… HELP!!!Thanks

Is it possible to use a standard wireless HDMI transmitter/receiver set-up on a XGIMI Horizon Pro projector and Sonos Arc soundbar? Currently, I just use an HDMI cable to connect the two (Horizon Pro has an HDMI ARC port for output) and recently learned about the existence of wireless hdmi devices like the below: https://www.amazon.com/jonuzod-Wireless-Transmitter-Streaming-Projector/dp/B0C43YL4DS/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?keywords=wireless+hdmi&qid=1692748544&sr=8-2-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGY&psc=1 From the descriptions, this allows for the transmission of video + audio which sounds like it’s the same functionality as my HDMI cable. However, looking at other sources, it seems like this may not be the case (not sure I understand why, but some ARC is mentioned) I am fine with some degradation in quality but want to know if this is technically feasible.

Back in January 2023, I decided to treat myself to a full entertainment system upgrade for my bedroom, replacing my 8 year old TV, PS4, and FireTv Stick with a 2022 LG C2 EVO, PS5, AppleTV 4K, and Sonos Beam gen2 + Mini Sub.At first I was really happy with the Sonos setup from a sound quality perspective particularly with music, but I struggled with getting surround sound to work. No matter how many times I ran Trueplay front audio sounded further away in front of me and rear audio sounded right in front of me. Left to right surround effects are only really noticeably if my face is within 12 inches of the Beam; I used SpiderMan No Way Home on AppleTV 4K (bought and downloaded not streamed) and some other sources recommended on the internet for testing surround sound. After reading countless posts on this board and others I update my TV’s setting to Passthrough Audio, eARC enabled, and HDMI settings to Bitstream. No change in surround quality, but I did see it now says Dolby Atmos in the

I recently bought the Beam Gen 2 with reviews saying that it is enough for smaller rooms. I have it in a “5.1” setup with two IKEA symphonisks and one sub mini … but I have to say the 150€ Logitech 5.1 system I had before delivered a far superior experience. To say I am underwhelmed of this 500 Euro soundbar is an understatement so I feel like I might be doing something wrong.  at least I’m my setup the beam feels like it has ZERO stereo separation. I have truplay tuned it but that didn’t help much … is there anything else I can do or something I have to watch out for with the placements?  If there’s nothing I can do, does the arc perform reasonably better in this regard? With its wider form factor I was wondering whether it maybe is able to offer better channel separation. Thanks in advance!

I am moving my 65” Sony panel (arc but no eARC) from my music room to replace a 55” Sony in our Living Room. My wife doesn’t like going downstairs to watch TV, but we both want a larger screen in the LR.I will purchase an Arcana Fury 2 to bypass the Arc output and feed Dolby Atmos, 5.1, 2.0, to my Sonos Arc. AppleTV4 is primary A/V source.I hope someone here could recommend a quality 2.1 switch to run ahead of the Arcana so I can play my Roon Bridge (HDMI out) and my Oppo BDP seamlessly through my Arc system as well as my AppleTV. I know Apple occasionally causes hiccups with outboard connections, yet I want to keep wire count low. Thanks in advanceIMIKE

Hi everyone.I’m kinda new to sound in house…..and i allways was having sound in my car. So as i start getting older(i’m close to 50yo) i spend more time inside my home rather than spend time in my car. So i went on Youtube and start seach for input of what to buy when i needed to upgrade my sound. I choose Sonos. So here i am…Anyway….my livingroom upstairs got: Beam gen2,2xERA 100 and 2xgen3. And my Bow&Arrow-Panasonic does not got eARK so Arcana HDfury is been used….works great.So….do i purcase the ARC or a Era 300-pair? I will have both but economics makes me choose this month. The 300’s will have a wall-mount and in future i will have the secound pair of 300’s to pair them up front.So….what would you have purcase first of the ARC or 300’s.To info the 300’s are on sale from Sonos Web-site,and you can save pretty much the same on the ARC cause another electronic-store got it on Outlet…..so the ARC&300’s cost the same.

Already have a Sonos Play:5 Gen 1  which I’m now using with my newly acquired projector. The question I’m struggling with now is whether to get another Play:5 Gen 1 (yes I know it’s 2023) rather than an altogether new Sonos 5.1 setup that I simply don’t have the bugdet for at the mo.It’s a real shame that the Play:5 Gen 1 can’t be used as surround speakers which would have been ideal, but given that my projector is mounted behind my sofa connected to an Apple TV 4k which allows wireless connection to speakers over WiFi using a separte Apple Airport Express (Airplay 2) devide I already own i.e. plugged into Play:5 Gen 1 via 3.5mm I feel like another inexpensive Play:5 Gen 1 would most likely be the best way to go for me at present, especially since I also tend to listen to music now and again.Wondering if anyone has had a similar experience using 2 x Play:5 Gen 1 (grouped) hooked up to a projector or TV and how it compares to a Sonos 5.1 setup; is a Sonos 5.1 setup really that much bett

Hi Sonos,Any chance an option to self-calibrate “Auto Truplay” in a room that has multiple mic enabled speakers?I was recently looking into swapping out my Arc + Sonos One + Sub combo with a Sony HT-A9 because what I hope will be my future living room looks to be asymmetrical and so I was trying to find a way of creating as discrete a home cinema as possible without the Arc/TV being the anchor/centre of the room where 4 off-axis speakers might work(also why I bought a Samsung The Frame TV).One idea I liked about the HT-A9 is that it uses the mics inside the 4 speakers to self calibrate the room based on position and was just wondering if/as/when Sonos might consider the same. Granted people may have SL speakers (for which standard Truplay is still relevant) and the Sub doesn’t have a mic (but given bass is supposed to be non-directional, it should matter) but it would be a nice step to simplifying/automating setup. Not sure if this is the right place for it or it’s been asked before but

Anyone  else  still  having low  volume  issues  with ARC after  update 15.4  Still not resolved .

I discovered that my surrounds weren’t playing any movie audio, so I opened up the Sonos app. I don’t really use it often. I think this is the first time I opened it this year. One of my Play:1s showed up as “Not configured”. When I clicked the wrench it said that it didn’t have the right software version or something. I mixed up which one it was on the app so I ended up unplugging the right side speaker (RS) and plugging it back in. Then I saw that one said Play:1 (LS) and the other said Play:1 with nothing. So I factory reset the LS speaker (again due to confusion) and added it back to my surround room. But I saw the same thing.I disconnected the surrounds and got a message again that the Play:1 that I just factory reset wasn’t added to my system, so I added it to my surround room again and then it recognized that both Play:1s were added to the room and asked if I wanted to make them surrounds. I got through the wizard without an issue and now both surrounds are connected; one says P

I’m just wondering if anyone has experience with both?  I have the Mini, but I’m wondering if the Gen3 produces a tighter sound than the Mini?  I find the Mini is boomy.

Hi, I’m not sure how to submit a feature request and hope this post could work. I have been using a Beam 2 and pretty happy about it. Recently I added Sub mini and era 100s for a full setup. However, I just found that there’s no way to have a full music playback mode when the input source is TV. This is very inconvenient for me since I regularly use my TV to play music from YouTube (much more frequent than watch movies or play music from Sonos app) and with the current setup the rear speakers seldomly have any actual sound. I understand this depends on the music source, but for my use case, I hope at least I could have an option, just like playing music from the Sonos app. Thanks!

I love kicky bass as opposed to boomy bass.  I set up the audio system in my car with a 1200W bass amp to power a 10” W6 sub and it provides clean, clear kicky bass that I can feel, but it’s not at all that kind of fuzzy boomy bass.  How do I get kicky bass from my Arc?  I wish I could explain it better.

I need some help figuring this out. My setup:Arc + Sub (Gen 3) + Era 300sTV: Panasonic plasma (2013) with HDMI ARCBecause of the older TV, I use an HDFury Arcana with a Panasonic UB820 UHD player, Apple TV 4K, and Roku Ultra connected to it with a ROOFULL HDMI switch. I have a Dolby Atmos demo Blu-ray disc that includes a 7.1.4 Test Tones video both in Dolby TrueHD and Dolby Digital Plus. When the video gets to the LFE channel test, the bass tone plays from the Sub like it should, but the pink noise test tones also play from the Arc’s drivers at the same time. The surround speakers remain silent. The combination of tones playing from both the Sub and Arc is much louder compared to when the individual pink noise tones are played through the other channels during the rest of the test video. I get the same result with both the Dolby TrueHD and Dolby Digital Plus settings on the disc. When I play the same 7.1.4 Dolby Atmos test tones video (MP4 file with Dolby Digital Plus audio) from my i

Hello everyone,I have the Sonos ARC and I bought the Sub Mini a month ago. The truth is that I don't notice any difference and I don't know what to do. I have it in the living room, it has a size of 4 x 5 meters. I did the trueplay configure with ARC + Sub Mini. Can you help me to configure it or what I can do.Thanks a lot

Hello, I am planning to buy Sonos Beam gen 2 but I see that it requires ARC/eARC to play Atmos while the TV has no such port but it has MHL 3 port. My question is, if I will be able to enjoy Atmos using this HDMI port and if not, what would be the best format that I will be able to stream.  Also, please tell us if there are any kinds of converters which may help. Thank you in advance!Best Regards,Nikolay H.

Hi all!  I rent at the moment, and I have an Arc + Sub + pair of Era 300’s as surrounds in my current living room.  I’m moving to a house at the end of the month, and my new living room is a little odd, and based on my scrubbing of the internet, I have a few questions I’m seeking peer advice from:If I am to mount the surround Era 300’s inverted, should I mount them height-wise closer to the ceiling, or should there be a gap in between the ceiling and the speaker, and if so, how much of a gap should there be?  I do watch Atmos movies and listen to Atmos music and am looking to maximize what I can of the experience here I see inverted instructions in the product guide, but am also seeing lots of chatter in other threads that the software doesn’t fully. support inverted mounting yet - what is the extent of what is not supported?  Does it not work at all?  Does TruePlay just not work when I’m inverted?  Does Atmos not work at all when inverted?  When do we think full support in software wi

Well, I’ve been experiencing issues with my Arc, Sony Bravia and Directv box and with the help of Support, have narrowed it down to this...I go to TV Setup, unplug the eArc and Directv HDMI cables, then go thru the TV Setup steps to connect Arc to TV and it works.  I watch for a while, then turn off the system via my Directv remote.  Hours later, when I turn the system back on, Arc is no longer working and has disconnected from TV.  What’s going on?  This is very frustrating.

I have my Sonos Arc and sub hooked up to a TCL television. I have the sub connected to the router with an ethernet cable because I was having issues with that previously but that hasn't been a problem anymore.  This morning it has started randomly switching to the TV sound and then it'll switch back to the Sonos.  I turned off TV autoplay like I saw somewhere but I don't know what to do since it is still having that problem.  I turned it off and on I made sure everything is plugged in. What else can I do? This is really annoying me.

Have seen similar cries for help but the solutions suggested pointed to setting changes I either dont have (or cannot find!) LG OLED 55C 14LB   Connected to SKY Stream Puck  SONOS BEAM GEN 2  connected to TV via HDMI port 2 (eARC) but output on Netflix, Prime and Apple TV+ although showing as Dolby Atmos on TV are showing as Stereo PCM on Sonos AppLike others the sound when playing music through the Beam shows as being in Atmos and is greatWhen I disconnect the Beam Dolby Atmos shows as enabled in TV settings but when I connect the Sonos supplied HDMI lead the Advanced Settings on the TV are “greyed out”. Had 2 completely unsuccessful calls to LG support and after 90 minutes Sonos support gave upHelp required please

I have a Sony Bravia, Arc and Directv.  Every time I start up the system, the Arc shows its screensaver on the screen through eHDMI.  By messing with the inputs, i eventually find the Directv picture, but I’m never sure how I got there.  What am I doing wrong?  Help

OK, I am about to pull my hair out and bin this SONOS. . but before I do this, can someone please help me. I have 4 Play 1 Originals. ( admittedly dated now but they are only speakers) and have just bought a SONOS beam two as the Play 5 does not have an optical cable, ugh! and there is an issue.  Anyways, I digress, can anyone please help me set up the SONOS BEAM GEN 2 with my PLAY 1 gen 1 please, it says there is an option for surround sound but the APP 2 cannot see them speakers.. This system is becoming way over complicated to be honest, was great when they started but now, they are getting on the band wagon.. and stuff not compatible.

I replaced my old Apple TV HD with a newer Apple TV 4K yesterday and have great video but lost the audio. After taking down the wall mounted TV I noticed that the optical output from my TV was not hooked up to the optical input in my Sonos Playbar. So my question is, how did I get audio from my old ATV HD to my Playbar without the optical connection? The only way it could occur is through the ethernet connection (my entire Sonos household system is wired via ethernet rather than Wi-Fi).The reason I disconnected the digital optical input from my old ATV to my Playbar is because the optical output from my Sony TV is damaged - the connection is loose. So I would like to again get audio from my new ATV 4K to my Playbar via ethernet again, but I cannot figure out how to do that. All of the documentation I can find about hooking up my Sonos Playbar (it is the older model not the newer one - I purchased it in 2016 or 2017) directs me to hook it up to the TV via an optical cable.Any suggestion
