I have a Playbar, Sub, and 2 Play:1s combination.  The TV I have is old and specifically restricts devices input directly to the TV via HDMI as only being output via optical in 2.0 PCM. Not very unusual with older TVs.  I’m getting sound from the Play:1s.  What exactly is the Playbar outputting to the surrounds?  Stereo?  Some kind of matrixed surround similar to Prologic II?  I’m not dissatisfied with the sound.  I’m just curious what’s going on with this configuration.  If I got a TV that passed through Dolby Digital 5.1 via optical what would the Playbar do with that?  Is it going to sound markedly better than whatever it’s doing with 2.0?  I’m not really all that amped up about Atmos or anything like that yet.  5.1 and 1080p are just fine for now.This room is pretty much exclusively for streaming.  Most surround programming is DD+.  Something tells me that since my Roku senses what my playback device will process, that it will only send 2.0 PCM out an

Hello everyone.  Quick question about speaker placement as I am fairly new to Sonos.  I recently upgraded to the arc ultra, gen 4 sub, 1 pair of Fives and 1 pair of Era 300 from 1 pair of one SL and 1 pair of Era 100.  Below is the open concept floor plan.  I plan on using the arc and sub for home theater and the Fives and Era 300 for playing music.  The arc would go below the TV on the unit and the sub to the left of it.  My plan was to put the 1 pair of Fives on speaker stands in the family room.  Put the one Era 300 in the dining room on a stand and the one Era 300 in the dining room directly on the counter as it is out of the work area.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.  

Hello all. New to the Sonos ecosystem and an having this issue as described by a previous post. The post was locked with. I solution being provided and I have searched far and wide for a solution. All of my Sonos speakers, no matter the room they are in, will go into a “perma-mute” showing a solid green light. Only way to unmute is to physically touch the volume on the speaker or to go into the app and tap the unmute button. Please help! 

One-week-old Sonos Arc Ultra makes a noticeable popping sound when navigating in/out of content. It’s not the loud pop reported earlier this year, but still audible and annoying. Factory reset twice with no change. Happens with all content types (stereo, 5.1, Atmos, YouTube, Netflix, etc.). Setup: Apple TV 4K, LG C1, bitstream input, passthrough output, eARC, Sonos HDMI cable. Is anyone else experiencing a crackling noise with their Arc Ultra? I upgraded from the Arc to the Arc Ultra, which is connected to a pair of Era 300s and two subs. The crackling sound has been intermittent, mainly occurring when streaming movies.

Hi everyone,I’m looking for some help with a persistent connection issue. My Sonos Arc Ultra paired with Era 100 & Era 300 for surround constantly disconnects from the WiFi and disappears from the app, even though both the speaker and my phone are sitting right next to the router.Troubleshooting I’ve already done:• Tested with multiple different phones (same result).• Verified that the phone and speakers are on the same network/frequency and have a static IP address.• The only fix: If I provide a wired ethernet connection to the Arc Ultra, the app stays connected and everything works. As soon as I go wireless, it drops.Has anyone else experienced this with the Arc Ultra? I have tried to pair multiple remotes so that I can adjust volume. It shows that it has worked and it works for about a minute then stops. Looking for suggestions 

I recently bought a Sony PS5, and when playing games, the audio intermittently drops on my Sonos Arc (with Sub and 2 surrounds connected) for a second, and then keeps happening.It’s enough to be really annoying. I have changed the HDMI cable and looked at the settings on the Playstation and on my Sony TV, and all seems OK. Audio is fine through my Apple TV and Nintendo Switch, this is just with the Playstation. Any ideas how to fix?

I’ve just purchased a Sonos Beam (gen 2) and this is paired with a Samsung 55QN95B on the supplied TV stand.  The TV stand protrudes in front of the TV, so I’ve been trying to work out the best placement for the Beam.  Either, in front of the TV stand, directly on the cabinet (although this looks a bit odd), or resting on top of the TV stand - looks much better as the beam “merges” with the TV.  However, I’m not sure if this compromises the sound, so was wondering if there are any “feet” that can be used to raise the Beam about 1cm.  This would mean the Beam can sit over the stand without resting on it.

Hi All, I have an extremely frustrating situation with a new Arc Ultra - when watching content from my Shield via the Brava e-ARC the status light will turn on white (I have it set to off) then the volume will jump up and down for a minute or two. Sometimes it stops and the light goes out again, sometimes the power needs to be pulled. I’ve spoken to support, been through troubleshooting (reboot, update, disabled IR and touch controls etc etc) but this is an intermittent issue and it will go away after a reboot/reset for a few hours, or even days so hard to get in touch with support when the fault is occurring. It is driving me mad - and sounds very similar to the issue here so I’m starting to wonder if there is a hardware issue: Anyone out there got any good ideas? Thanks.

every time I connect my play base to the Internet and when I disconnect it, it does not appear in my app

Hi all, wondering if anybody could help me I have just purchased a Sonos arc, my tv only has an arc port and not an earc port. My tv model is a Sony KD 55x8509c,it is also running thru sky stream and I have set the audio out to pass through and also tried Dolby digital plus.the problem I’m having is I can’t seem to get Dolby digital plus to come through, should it say Dolby digital plus when playing on the Sonos app? As mine just says Dolby digital 5.1 so not sure if am getting the full experience.

Arc Ultra and Era 100’s  Anyone else have this setup and noticing that the Era 100’s as rears are doing less work with the Arc Ultra when compared to the standard Arc? I’m barely noticing any audio coming from the rears even with the surround volume turned up to maximum.  I swapped my original Arc back with the Era 100 surrounds and tested the same Atmos movies on the Arc and the Arc Ultra, and there is a significant difference/reduction in the signals being sent to the Era 100’s in the rear channels with the Arc Ultra.  Increasing the “TV Level” setting for Surround Audio in the Sonos app increases the front surround volume coming from the Arc Ultra but the signals coming out of the ERA 100 rears are almost non existent.  Is this behavior the result of how the Arc Ultra processes surround channels, and should be considered normal operation?

Hi allI thought I would start a thread about this since there are a lot of people with this issue looking for answers. There is currently an issue with the Asus firmware and Sonos devices set up in Home Theatre mode where Guest Network Pro has been activated on the router. For my setup it is the Arc paired with a Sub and Two ERA 300’s; however, many other setups also seem to be affected. Here is a long thread which I have been running where the process has been documented. Today Asus provided me with a Beta firmware which seems to have solved the issue. G’day from Australia,New to forum here, so apologies if this has been covered elsewhere.I have recently invested in Sonos Era 1 speakers, Sub Mini to go with existing Beam Gen 1 setup.I want to use the the setup for both music and home theatre, so currently music utilises the Era 100’s and the Sub, which is fine for my needs at present. However, as the Tv is only connected to the Beam, do I always have to reconfigure the Era speakers and sub, if I want to use them for the Home Theatre set-up.Or can I just create different rooms, even though they are all part of a 5.1 system in reality?Hope this makes sense!Cheers

I have two  Sono​​​s sound bars a Ray and ​​​​Beam V2 and I understand the Ray has limited audio options and is showing Dolby Digital 5.1. Just learned about setting up a surround sound system in my basement. I have an arc ultra at the tv, 2 era300s front L&R of TV, sub gen4, and amp with 2 sonance celling speakers as R&L rear surrounds is there a better configuration to take full advantage of Dolby atmos or surround sound setup in general? 

I’m unable to connect my beam gen 2 to the Mi Laser Projector 150. I’ve tried connecting the beam gen 2 to the projector’s HDMI 3 (ARC) port but it’s still not working.  Anyone has encountered this issue before?

Hello, after using TruePlay my rear speakers are really loud and greatly over power the front (Arc Ultra). They are only 6” away if I sit on one side of the couch, around 2’ if I sit center (they are in a console table right behind my couch). I know that “Surround Distance” is grayed out after running TruePlay. Am I really just better off not using TruePlay and just setting surround distance to “Less Than 2ft”? Just bummed that I have to sacrifice the TruePlay EQ because it doesn’t reduce the rear surrounds enough.

I’ve got a Samsung smart monitor with an HDMI-Arc port connected to my Amp. I can get the TV connected via the app and I hear the chime, but no TV audio plays through the speakers. Line-In and regular music play fine. I’m using a very long 50’ HDMI cable because of my room configuration (been buying from Amazon to test and return if needed). This has been my second attempt with a similar cable. I read somewhere that 8K cables don’t send the same signals as lower rez-rated cables. These all have crazy name/ratings like “HDMI 2.1 Cable 50ft White 4K 8K Fiber Optic HDMI Cable [8K@60Hz 4K@120Hz, 48Gbps, Dynamic HDR, HDCP 2.2&2.3, 3D] Compatible with 4090, RX 7900 XTX, Monitor, PS5, Soundbar”. Also read that the length could be the culprit.Anynet+ (HDMI-CEC) is enabled. The cable says it is directional and I’ve switched both ends but still no change.Has anyone encountered a similar situation, either connection chime but no audio,

I have installed a new Ray with two Play 1 surround speakers and paired the Samsung TV remote and all is working well including the remote volume control. But I have a question that relates to the remote and powering off the Sonos system.Does the Ray have the power on and off functionality and if it does should it power off when switching off the TV, if it should how is this configured ?

My sonos Sub Gen 3, stopped working when I got a new Wi-Fi set up at home, I have done everything possible, resetting it severally, connecting it and reconnecting it severally as well, I have moved my sonos product to different rooms in the app and created different room as well with no success. Right now the sub shows it’s connected, I can see from the app that my sub is connected but not playing, the sound isn’t coming out and it’s frustrating to me because I like the sounds of the sub when listening to music, it’s just my my Sonos Arc that is working properly.. Please I need  sonos support team to help me sort this out, my visitors are not impressed on New Year celebration because my sub wasn’t working. Please advice me on what to do next..Regards

I have move and have a new internet source how do I update my system to accept the new internet. It will not recognize my app. 

I have a LG oled48c44la TV which has a wired connection to a Sonos Beam working successfully.  I want to add 2 Sonos era 100 speakers to use as satellites, but they cannot be connected by wire.  Is there a way to play through the wired Beam connection and at the same time play wirelessly through the era 100s?

Problem:Almost daily, my surrounds/sub all disconnect from the Arc Ultra and stop playing sound (thought he Arc continues working as expected). When this occurs, the app shows "Needs attention" for the Arc Ultra. Power cycling the Arc Ultra immediately resolves the problem for 24-48 hours.Setup: Soundbar: Arc Ultra (connected via Wi-fi) Surrounds: 2x Symfonisk Bookshelf Gen 2 surrounds Sub: Sub Mini Routers: Asus AX86U Pro + AX58U AiMesh Node Other Sonos speakers in the house use SonosNet via a single Symfonisk lamp that is wired to the router (does SonosNet play any part for the surrounds/sub in this setup?)
