Feature Request - Wireless Home Cinema

With the rumours building of an upcoming Video Streaming Set Top Box or Stick, I'm really excited about the potential this device could bring.  My feature request is, if Sonos do launch a Set Top Box or Stick, that it enables Wireless connection to Sonos devices (no need to connect Soundbar by HDMI). I also really hope it opens up the option to not have to use a Soundbar at all for Home Cinema and be able to wirelessly connect Sonos Speakers instead.egFront Left One/100/300, Front Right One/100/300Rear Left One/100/300, Rear Right One/100/300 I use Sonos for Music so prefer the stereo separation of 2 Sonos Speakers over a Sonos Soundbar. But would like the option to use the Speakers for my TV Audio aswell. Currently not an option. Please Sonos, utilise your introduction of video hardware to its full potential and provide us with the above functionality.

Please read if you have encountered issues with 7.1 LPCM playback on Sonos via an LG TV

Hi,We want to gather some details from people experiencing issues with playback of 7.1 LPCM audio streams on a Sonos Arc or Beam (Generation 2), via an LG television set. Specifically, when channels are playing from the wrong speakers - for example, but not limited to, if you hear dialogue only coming from the rear speakers, consistently.If you have experienced this channel mis-mapping, please provide, in this thread, the following details:Your LG TV model numberYour media source device name and model number or TV app that the issue was noticed on, and the name of the movie/show that was affectedModels of any other HDMI devices connected to the TV (if applicable)The confirmation number of a Sonos system diagnostic submitted while the affected media was playing and 7.1 LPCM was reported in the Sonos app.Thank you for your assistance.

Is Beam 2 worth the upgrade from Beam 1, for me?

Hello, I'm a noob (ie.clueless) when it comes to audio.Sonos have 30% off upgrade offer and I'm tempted to get a Beam 2 to replace my Beam gen 1. The arc is out of my price range :(So, I have a LG TV with eARC, but I watch all my movies via streaming with Apple tv. Streaming means there would be no eArc difference on that front, right?I also have PS5 and Xbox Series X and I'm wondering would the Beam 2 give me much improved audio over the og beam for the consoles? Would eARC make any difference there?What, if any others advantages would the Beam 2 give me?I have two rear Sonos ones for surround in my setup, as well. If that makes any difference.Thanks for any advice!

Connecting Sonos speakers to a samsung TV as surround sound system

Hi everyone. I have two Sons Play:1 speakers and a Sonos Beam. I want to connect these to my Samsung Smart TV and use them as a surround sound system. I have been able to set them up as surrounds on the Sonos app but can only get the Beam to connect to the TV. Is it possible to get all three of my Sonos speakers to connect to my Samsung TV?

Hi, my setup is: HDFury Vrroom, Panasonic UB820, Sonos Arc, Epson Projector. The settings on UB820, under “Digital Audio Out”: 1) Dolby: bitstream, 2) DTS: bitstream or PCM (same result), 3) Secondary Audio: Off or Auto.  When I play DTS-HD bluray, I get no sound.  On the Sonos S2 App, it says “silent 7.1”.  If I switch the Secondary Audio (on UB820) to ON, I get DTS Surround 5.1.  However, if I play Dolby Atmos bluray, I only get Dolby Digital 5.1, and no Dolby Atmos.  I can only get Dolby Atmos, if I set the “Secondary Audio” to Off.Any help is appreciated.Thanks!

ceiling speakers

Hi there,I have 7 pre existing ceiling speakers spread out through my upstairs floor. 2 in a screened room. 2 in kitchen. 2 in living room. 1 in master bathroom. Each are has wall mounted volume control with all 7 speakers feeding to a receiver in the living room. I’m interested in connecting through Sonos but unsure what unit or units I would need to do this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ok so my setup has several network SONOS AMPs and speakers throughout the house. i also have Samsung TVs I’d like to have the TV’s playing the videos Spotify delivers while audio is provided by the Amps. I’m I just too far ahead in terms of what’s possible?

Connect Sonos Speakers to AV Onkyo Amp

Hi guys, are you able to add the Sonos Arc and Sub Gen 3 speakers to an AV Receiver?I have an Onkyo TX-NR626 which seems to have a lot of functions. I am not looking to simply use the Sonos app via the amp, my objective is to use the Sonos Arc Soundbar as centre speaker and the Sub Gen 3 as a Subwoofer as surround speakers with the AV Onkyo amp instead of buying traditional Speakers.Thanks,Kens.

Arc SL: LG C2 Keeps switching back to Arc SL when trying to switch to other Sound Outputs like TV speakers

Setup:  LG OLED C2 TV + Arc SL + two One SL surroundsProblem:  Within 2 seconds of changing sound output from the Arc SL to the TV Speakers, automatic return to the Arc SL.Sonos App → TV Autoplay → OFF No other external devices to simplify debugging Unable to disable SIMPLINK (HDMI-CEC) on TV.   Automatically Turns ON within 2 seconds of turning OFFWorkaround:  Pull power cord off the Arc SL and then switch sound output on TV

Don't Blame Sonos for DTS Issues

OK...this may read like a Fanboy post. Well...it’s not. However, I’ll leave that to your own interpretation . As you know the Sonos update to v13.4 brought DTS 5.1 Surround to Sonos home theaters speakers Arc and Beam Gen2.  Since the update there have been posts complaining about DTS not being processed to the Arc. BTW the Beam Gen2 will process DTS as well; but the Arc seems to be the “whipping (boy) speaker”.Fact of the matter is in addition to having a disc player that can decode the DTS signal and/or process DTS:HD to DTS your TV must be cable of “Pass-Through” audio to the Arc or Beam Gen2. If not you must consider using a HD Fury Acrana between your TV and Sonos speaker. To do so you split the incoming HDMI source signal to the FD Fury Acrana via HDMI-Out 1 to HDMI-In on the Arc or Beam; and HDMI-Out 2 to HDMI-In on the TV (*).The point being is that Sonos delivered on their promise to bring DTS to the Arc and Beam. Albeit not DTS:HD or DTS:X. But nevertheless...DTS. If you are

Atmos showing as Dolby Digital plus in Sonos App

Beam Gen 2 with LG C1 and Firestick 4k Max. Firestick is plugged into TV and the Beam Gen 2 is connected to the TV eArc port. Everything set to passthrough. I think all is set up correctly as some streams are fine. The problem I have is the Beam (according to the App) is detecting some streams as DD+ even though I’m pretty sure they are Atmos. Any suggestions?

Lpcm sound is considerably quieter than Dolby Digital plus 5.1 or other modes, annoying Is that normal or not?Or maybe work in progress?Is lpcm the best option for my setup , gaming on ps5?Thanks everyone for helping in advancePeace Dawid

New to Sonos and need advice for a large loft surround sound

I am not new to home theater, but I am new to Sonos.  We having a custom build started and I will be meeting with the low voltage supplier in a couple of weeks and I am trying to see what Sonos system would work for my needs.  In the loft upstairs (22’x18’), we will have a TV on one wall and a sofa on the opposite wall.  What Sonos system would work best for that room?  We are also thinking about having a few other Sonos speakers around the house so I want to know what’s a good setup to have Airplay2 added in the system as well.  Thanks in advance!

Playing uniform sound through HDMI to Beam+Amp Group

Hi, I have a group setup in my living room, consisting of the Beam and the Amp (which connects to a pair of rear in-wall speakers). I am playing sound my mac mini, which is connected to my TV through HDMI, then from there I am connected to the beam (through e-arc) which acts as the center of the group. The mac to TV part might not be relevant here. My question is whether I can output sound to the existing group I have as stereo instead of surround. I would like both my front and rear speakers to play the SAME sound and not use surround channels. I would also like to achieve this NOT using airplay (as there’s a slight lag), but to access the entire group through HDMI and output stereo sound evenly to the 3 speakers from there. Thanks for the help!

Support request Sonos Beam

My Sonos Beam soundbar is working with my Panasonic tv.I suffer from Auditory Processing Disorder (APD) which means that no matter how much I turn up the volume, I have difficulty with speech which sounds distorted and incomprehensible. Enhanced speech mode doesn't help. My disability means the Sonos helpline is no use because I cannot participate in telephone conversations. I sent an email to Sonos support but it was bounced back.Can anybody tell me if there is any way of linking the soundbar to my Bluetooth headphones? If so, please give full details of the type, make and model of device I need to buy, and explain how it has to be connected to the soundbar in order to enable my headphones to pair with the soundbar.Any assistance would be much appreciated.

sonos arc low volume after update to 15.10

 I have 2 Sonos arc setup, second one was only bought couple of days back. Other one is in my living room we used to get moderately good sound around level 20, now we have to bump it to around 45 to hear properly and to get good room filling sound have to go till 80. And the new arc is in small bedroom felt that sounded even lower.

worst system ever

Only my ARC ever works and that's only when it's linked by optical !!!!!! Whole system trash speakers are great when they work, but that's never throwing my whole system in the trash what a waste of 1000s of dollars!!! I would rather thought out 10k in speaker then waste 100s or hours of time!!!

Era rears in wall niche

Hello Everyone. I'm new here and new to Sonos. Please help me with two questions, as I set up my TV viewing experience.  It's a small room with little wall space in the rear. The couch is against the rear wall, which is mostly a window with a bit of wall on either side.First, I'm wondering if Era 100s would be sufficient, or 300s would be better and work well in a set up right above our heads.Second, we don't want them mounted on the wall... rather we're making niches for them. We will put them in the niches with their fronts sticking out to minimize sound degradation from being enclosed in niches. Has anyone tried this? Think it'll be fine? Does the sound come out other than from the front?I really appreciate your advice.

Beam intermittently working ,output of my LG TV on Telus system continuly stops working ,support indicates the tpye of Audio from TV causing Beam to stop working ,basicalliy its a paper wieght now ,i never know when it will work very disappointed and looks like ill return and try a competitor .
