Get help and assistance with your Sonos system

Hello forum, my 15+ year old Beolab 8000 speakers  (active/built in amps) are still excellent as is the 10+ year old Sonos Connect (1st gen) - however, since I moved the system the BeoLabs are constantly switching on/off intermittently even though the Connect is not activated, This is a new phenomenon since a year or so. I checked cables (very simple RCA type, worked for many years), moving the Connect around and also that the plugs are firmly in their sockets - any ideas are highly appreciated.

Great quality until an update in 2025 that made speakers randomly pop. Tried all the things to help but still happens. Never ever purchase a product from this company. 

Having less faith in Sonos, after upgrade bricked units, apple airplay preference in upgrade leading to disasters for others. S1 / S2 terror. Sonos in need of income, so the income from intune being base for Sonos Radio, leads to radio programmes being broardcast add free from national stations with own add on, are chopped up, broken disturbed on purpose.Result: you find the national program via intune and voila, Sonos are back in add income.Remark, system has worked perfect for years, all but for Sonos software downgrades, are unchanged.I as customer are deeply disapointed., am I the only one seeing the plot.Rgds Per Høeg.

I'm using Apple Music with a Sonos setup consisting of Arc + Sub + two Era 300 speakers.When I play the following album, playback consistently halts mid-track, and the Sonos system becomes completely unresponsive—as if it's frozen. I have issues with the sound sync on a certain channel (TV4) in Sweden when I have my Sonos system connected to my TV (Samsung S90D).  The problem is quite random and will usually appear after the commercial break. If I change channel and go back again the problem will disappear.  I have tried to use both Ethernet and WiFi connected to the Arc Ultra with a good connection but it is the same both ways. If I disconnect the HDMI cable from the sound system everything seems to be okay again. I have changed the sync settings in the software but the problem will remain.  Any idea what can cause this sync issue?     

This is an ongoing issue where certain CBC Music regional stations disappear and are not accessible. I submitted questions here a year ago and contacted support. Recently tried SONOS Support again and they confirmed the issue …“Indeed, I can see here that only Central, Mountain and Pacific are available at the moment and the ones you mentioned are not working.  So, it seems to be a general issue. I can report it forward to our team so that they can investigate however I cannot provide an exact timeframe for a solution as we don't know if it's an issue with our service or from CBC's side.”They also said they did not have a way of keeping me informed of progress so my issue has kind gone into a black hole. But if others here are having the same issue (still) reporting to SONOS Support might help prioritize a solution.Tryi

Hi All, I have a Sonos play bar, sub,  2 play 5 second gen for surrounds stereo setup for my entertainment area. In the last month one of the 2 play 5s (out of warranty sadly) stopped connecting to the system. When I plug it into Ethernet it works but unfortunately that is not an option for my space.I sent customer service a diagnostic and was told it’s a failed WiFi card. They basically said I was SoL and my options are to get a 30 percent discount on one new 5 and buy an additional new 5 because that’s the only way I could have two surrounds. Kind of a hard answer to hear if I have two very expensive play 5 speakers, one of which works fine and the other of which only the WiFi is malfunctioning (apparently a problem that has been experienced by quite a few play 5 second gen owners).Does anyone have other ideas of solutions? Has anyone ever effectively replaced the WiFi card on one of these? Does anyone know a good source of refurbished play 5 gen

i have a new router, TP-link BE230 where I try to add my music library on USB disk. I do the usual \\192.168.0.1\nameUSB and than the user id/password. I get an error 1002: can not add music library.  Anyone an idea what wrong?  I did check the firewall; its open for SONOS… Thanks!

Hi Guys,  I cannot seem to get my 2 Sonos Play ones to connect to with my beam to make a surround experience. I can connect the 2 speakers as single or as a stereo pair but when I click on the beam and add the 2 Sonos ones as surrounds they are coming up saying “not connected” I have tried to factory test both Sonos ones and the beam and I am still getting the same issue  I have attached a screen shot below 

Hi. I have a Beam, Sub Mini and two Play1 for surround sound.  All speakers work with music and appear as one group. However during TV playback, the two Play1 speakers just have a light static noise. Sub is working, as is the Beam. TV playback is showing as 5.1 surround. Any ideas? Thanks 👍 

I have a question about the Sonos Sound Bar app on my Smart TV. (My Sonos app on mobile phone works as expected and enables me to control all my audio settings. My question does not relate to the sonos app on my mobile phone). As part of setting up my sonos arc ultra and sub gen 4 with my smart TV, a mysterious "Sonos Sound Bar" app has appeared on my SmartTV. This app is grey with a white speaker image on it. Clicking on the app reveals no functionality at all: all I am shown is a series of weird black and white lines on the screen. The images look semi artistic and look like attempts to draw different types of sound waves. The images change every few seconds. But other than this, the app does nothing. And I am unable to delete it from my SmartTV Does anyone else have the same experience? What is this app for? It seems completely superfluous and bizarre. 

I have just moved into our new house and I cannot connect any of our speakers to the new modem

I am setting up a new living room theater setup. TV is TCL 98 inch QM7K with a ARc Ultra soundbar, a 4th gen sub and 2 Era 300 speakers.  TV is 15 feet from back wall.  Problem is it is a L shaped couch that is 144 inches back and 114 inch other side with no space behind couch for the 2 Era 300 speakers.  AI suggested I put them on the left arm and right arm of the couch and the right one was suggested I have it face the TV like the one on the left?  Also need to decide if I am ok using side tables 24 niches high or do I need speaker stands.  Here is a layout drawing. I currently have an arc with 2 x 1sl’s for surrounds in my lounge and it works fine with the usual tv apps and my Virgin streaming box but when I use the Firestick the some bounces from arc to SL1 surround’s and back

Should I use my play bar soundbar as a rear surround or play 1 speakers 

HelloI am a long time user of the Sonos AMP (gen 2), connected to vintage (aka old) Kef Coda 70s.Sounds punchy, detailed & engaging!My question:Apple TV supports 24/48 kHz stereo sound via HDMI eARC.The Sonos Amp’s connector is HDMI ARC only.Does the Sonos AMP receive/play 24/48 kHz stereo via HDMI ARC, or is converted to 16/44.1 kHz (CD quality), or something else?There doesn’t seem to be a definitive answer for this that I can see?(I’m aware Apple Music Lossless 24/48 is available via the S2 app, but sometimes I prefer using the Apple Music interface on Apple TV)  Thanks in advance 

Hi, newbie here. I’m going to purchase a Sonos set up that consists of 4 architectual speakers, amp and a smart switch. All 4 in one room. It’s 6x4m. 2 one end for the bar area and two the other for the tv. I’m thinking a switch would be good to turn down/off either end when not needed. What’s people’s thoughts. Also, would there be a wiring diagram for this? Thanks  

My rear speakers never update, but everything else does.This seems to be a Sonos bug that they refuse to acknowledge.The issue is that from a network perspective the Arc and its subs appear as one entity all having the same MAC address (the arc connects to the network on wifi 2.4GHz and to the subs using a local 5GHz signal that does not go through the router).Come update time there is no network route to the subs, and the arc does not have the smarts to do the update on behalf of the subs.As a work around I have allocated the subs mac address in my router. When the update to the subs fails, I turn off the arc, restart the app, do an update, usually twice, once for each sub, then turn on the arc and we are back working.This is better that resetting subs as a lot of the advice suggests.It would be nice if there someone had a better workaround as it is obviously a network issues, not signal strength, interference etc.

When selecting music in Apple it always transferred into Sonos automatically very quickly. Now it does not work, nothing transfers and if I delete music from Apple a grey shadow image still appears in Sonos but it doesn’t play. I have tried deleting both accounts and reinstalling but that doesn’t fix. Anyone got any ideas what is wrong?

I am considering small upgrade of Sonos system to enable flac quality, specifically via Qabuz app, Will a beam and play 1 x2 set up play FLAC quality? Are Era 100 required in combination with beam for surround sound flac quality? Also, can I include current play 1 speakers x 4 in same system in 2 separate rooms? 

Hi’ just received two days ago brand new Sonos Ace headphones I’m having an insane issue while I’m on any type of a call using the aware or NC mode, while I speak randomly I’ll hear a super high pitch noise for a brief second while I talk, it’s extremely loud and unbearable  I’ve updated to latest and also done a full hard reset to the unit ! Nothing has changed I have a brand new iPhone 16 pro max with Sonos app installed This is horrible, why is it happening ? I read on Reddit that people were experiencing similar issues from the cpu frequency being picked up by ANC microphones or something like that. Also when I’m on a call, other people hear me muffled and like I’m in a tunnel, these are expensive premium headphones that shouldn’t be like that I think?  

I have an Arc Ultra and 2 Era 300. What I want to do is 1) to get the home theatre setup, having the Era’s as surrounds - this is easy to do - and also 2) use the Era’s 300 as a stereo pair, using my turntable connected to one Era via line-in. This works easily, but it seems I cannot have options 1 and 2 configured through the app? If I configure the Era’s as surrounds, then it seems I lose the line-in for the turntable, and the stereo pair. I can’t understand this Sonos limitation (or perhaps I’m too clumsy?)

I have a new server and new desktop.  Last night, I was able to connect my Play3 to Sonos - plays the services I have set up.However, when I go to connect a separate Play3, I keep getting the message “we couldn’t find any Sonos products on you mobile device’s network so we can set up the Play3.I have rebooted Router, modem, iphone, hard reset the Play3, but to no avail.Help!Don Jones

I have four sonos move1 and two roam. Auto Trueplay does not turn on after updating the app(ver82.00.45/93.1-74010)(Samsung,Android 14)

I just got a roam 2 into add airplay and Bluetooth capabilities to my play :1s. I think I have the roam 2 and play:1s grouped. they all play music together from the sonos app. But if I try to play music via Bluetooth or AirPlay (like on my phone via Apple Music), the roam drops from the speaker group and plays alone. the whole reason I got the roam 2 was to be able to use Bluetooth with my system. Can someone help me? I’ve been looking at help articles but have not been able to figure it out.
