Get help and assistance with your Sonos system

Hello,I am very new to all this. I have a Sonos Arc, Era 300, and Sub. I have installed the Sonos app.  My music streaming services are the following: Qobuz and Tidal.I mostly use Qobuz. I only listen to HiRes albums. Nonetheless, my ignorance comes to the topic of how to play HiRes music with my Sonos system. Thus, how to play HiRes with the Sonos? Do I just use Airplay when I am on the Qobuz or Tidal app, or alternatively select the Sonos system directly (which is called ‘Stuen’ in my case, please check the attached image)? Or to play HiRes with the Sonos system, do I have to use the Sonos app and play directly from there? I am not sure which option makes sure that the system plays HiRes.   

I know there are many pissed off costumers with the new app. I certainly am one of them.  My main problem is that since the update I keep losing access to my NAS library.  I know the there is that SMB v1 no longer supported thing.  But I cannot see if my WD mybook 1.5 TB NAS is the case.  I went through all the settings and cannot see anything on which SMB version it has.  I would suspect it has v2 or v3 as it is only 5 years old.,  The strange thing is that everytime there is an IOS S2 update I loose my local music.  Only way to get it back is to use my windows sonos app.  Damn it is frustrating!!!  listening to music should be relaxing and Sonos has managed to flip that around.Anyone has any idea on how to fix.  So, if I change my NAS Sonos still has not re introduced the search capability, and honestly I think they won’t!  I will give it another month and if it is not fixed some people will get a very good price for my used Sonos HW

Hi,Everytime I try to log in to the app I get the message “Sign in as the system owner” The system owner must be logged in. Please log out and have the owner log in.!! First off it says a update is required.I am the system owner……Have tried logging in/out on the web site but still the same. Have deleted and reinstalled the app

I’m reinstalling my Sonos system in a new flat.  My Playbar successfully updated but my Play 1 (2) and Play 5 and Sonos Sub all return a 1,002 OR 30 update error.  I don’t have any Bridge product and I have restarted all my Sonos products many times as well as my Router and it still will not update. Are there any other suggestions I can try?  My new WiFi network is recognised, and the app shows they need updating before use.

The new controller is extremely (to be nice) unresponsive or at time just not functional. You have to pause the music dozens of times to turn the music off. The volume will just change with our anyone commanding it to go up or down. Speakers are just randomly dropping off the entire network causing me to to factory resets to attempt to get them re-connected, with minimal results. For the price of the devices their new controller and interface are subpair. Has anyone found a fix to this? Or is it time to move on to a new branded product? 

I’ve restarted and added my Beam three times, and continue to see this message. After powering it off and on again, it never appears in my Sonos app. This is beyond frustrating!  

I own two sonos one sl and a Sonos Roam . My sonos one SL are working in stereo, but i cannot find my sonos roam in the app y just Can airplay from spotify but it dosent work or even show up in the app. Someone Can help or have similar experience?

Dear community,I recently bought a Sonos Arc which works fine when connected to my TV. The problem is that I cannot finalize the app registration (android phone) due to failure on checking for updates step (Error code 1101). Scrolling through the forums, I found that it’s due to some weird network connectivity issue which I am currently not able to solve.Things that I’ve tried:Plugging ethernet cable to the soundbar; Reboot router; Update via windows PC app;Before reaching to the customer support, I wanted to check if anyone recently had this problem and if there are any other suggestions solve it. Thank you!

Also recently bought a Sonos system: Arc soundbar, 2 Era 300s for surround (rear), and will be adding a sub later this month.Have been rendering ADM-BW files and using Dolby Renderer to export to MP4s; plays fine in the Sonos app; but would really be great if I could run Studio One live to my Sonos systems to listen, mix, tweak...Have tried airplay (have a 4k Apple TV), but the Studio One output prefs say airplay only does 41.1k and atmos needs 48k. Tried streaming via airfoil app and connecting my macbook pro M1 to my TV (has eArc going to the Sonos Arc), but only get stereo playback there.Considering getting a NVIDA Shield Pro to stream from Studio One live - would that work?Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated - thanks!Dan

HiThe system dropped out o Saturday all of the streaming services would not play with either unable or error codes.On Sunday I got some response via my outlook 10 pc and got BBC 2 to playStill problematic on mobile got to be a software problem it opens up but all the streaming services are in the background and gray

After two hours on the phone to Sonos support last week I was finally able to add my music library back. Despite all the extreme frustration of recent weeks I was pretty happy with the outcome, and the support I received. However, predictably, something else has now gone wrong. Nothing happens now when I try to update my music library to index new music added to iTunes over the weekend. It did work once, when I added some music on Friday, but as of yesterday (Sunday 14th) nothing at all happens.Is anyone else experiencing the same problem, or does anyone have any fixes for this?

I want to move some of my existing, older Sonos products from my primary home to my vacation home. In my vacation home I just bought a new Sonos Beam Gen 2. Can I group this with an older Sonos Play:1 and Sonos Roam (gen 1). Can I group all of these in one group and play synchronized music? Also, I’m pretty confused on the various apps. Ideally there would just be the Sonos App that works with all products. However reading through this forum and doing some online searches it appears there are the following:Sonos App Sonos S1 App Sonos S2 AppIs that correct? And which app do I need to use to create a group of Sonos Beam (Gen 2) + Roam + Play 1? 

Spent several hundred dollars and half a day today with no result.  I bought a pair of ERA 100s and tried to add them as surrounds to my Arc and sub  set up.   I set tup the speakers with not problem individually,  then went to add as surrounds to my living room.  The system asked me to select one of the era 100s. identified  which side of the room it is on using a chime sound and then selected to add them.   Tried about 30 times.  Re starting the roster, the speakers, the arc, everything.  Even a couple of times it said they were successfully set up,  but they weren't.  Spent about 2 hours chatting to a Sonos support person online.   She basically gave up and gave me a list of questions to ask my internet service provider.  That is not going to be easy - their tech support is not exactly straightforward to deal with.  Very frustraded,   Ton between holding on and seeing if it resolves itself and driving the speakers back to the shop in anger. i have had era 100s as surrounds on this s

I have a Sonos amp powering to outdoor speakers. I want to be able to output audio from my cable box on my patio. Previously, I  Attached the HDMI cable from my cable box to an audio extractor in order to get an optic feed. I then used the Sonos optic feed to HDMI adapter to push audio to the amp. However, ever since updating to the new Sonos app this no longer works reliably. Most often the Sonos app does not seem to recognize any feed coming from the optical to HDMI Sonos adapter.Does anyone have a similar set up and had any success with the new Sonos app getting audio to play either through the Sonos optical to HDMI adapter or the line in? At this point, I have bought three different audio extractor devices from Amazon with no luck. Thanks for any suggestions.  

I have a Playbar, did a factory reset on it and after a painfully long time managed to get it set up to the local WiFi through the app. Issue now being that it won’t appear on the app at all. I’ve been through all the different ways of setting it up (wired/wifi), logged out and rest the app, unplugged the speaker and everything else that’s on the forums. There’s still nothing detected on the app and no sound through the optical cable. It says playbar has been added but may not appear system setting, I’ve unplugged and still nothing,Any ideas ?

Even the most of my new touch of the HDMI cable(For example, when installing the arc and mounting to the wall) Causes it to disconnect from the TV.  At this point, I’ve tried putting spacers behind the cable where it connects to the arc. I have tape going around the entire ark to hold the cable in place, but it keeps disconnecting and reconnecting. No movement, and not installed is working fine.This is the least premium HDMI port I have ever seen in my life. :(

I've had a customer's system up and running for over 2 years. We've had problems all along, but nothing like now. The new app will not recognize the existing devices in the app for device selection, however, it sees them in the About System/Sonos System Info section. Even after a complete system reset and new setup, it showed the system for about 5 seconds, then dropped it again. I have spent no less that 15 hours troubleshooting Sonos issues that are due to this new app without compensation, since this is neither my fault or my customer's fault. I've been a Sonos System provider for over 15 years and this is by far the most unreliable and frustrating experience I've ever encountered. With products from Denon/Marantz and others making their way into this realm, and the crazy price increases over the past two years, I would expect more from Sonos. Shame on you for causing these issues, not supporting your custom AV dealers (financially), and not owning up to it when called out for said

This is a community and some things cannot be resolved by constant complaining within it. I recently discovered that the balance control for iOS and Android devices within the Sonos Amp doesn’t work when a sub is connected. The work-around is to use the MacOS or Windows Desktop controller. Rather than rant and rave here in the community I contacted Sonos Tech Support to get an answer and working together we (I and Sonos Tech Support) uncovered the temporary work-around. This app suddenly decided to stop allowing me to select volume and speaker groups right away when I open it. I understand that every fanboy wants to tell me that it's my network but nothing's changed with my network. What changed was the app. It updated and now it doesn't work I'd like it to work again please wouldn't that be nice? Can you please fix the app. I sent two messages to support without reply. And I'm a little fed up with this. Who is behind this?
