I recently purchased a Sonos Era 100 from Amazon and initially set it up while connected to my VPN, which was set to Russia. I discovered that Spotify isn't compatible with Sonos in Russia, which might be causing my issues. 

I live in Canada. I've changed my location on the web and reset the speaker, but I still can't connect Spotify directly through the Sonos app or the Spotify app. Currently, the only way I can use Spotify is via AirPlay and Bluetooth. Any advice on fixing this would be greatly appreciated

Because Sonos relies on the ability for the speakers to talk to each other, and the controller, Sonos won’t work with most VPNs, as they’re designed to block that sort of crosstalk. You may need to turn off your VPN for Sonos to work properly. 

As to the specific Spotify issues, I would call Sonos Support directly to discuss it.

When you speak directly to the phone folks, they have tools at their disposal that will allow them to give you advice specific to your network and Sonos system.
