Troubleshoot, tune and get the most out of your system

When I ask my Sonos: "Hey, Google! Play Heart 80s". It replies with: "Playing Heart 80s on TuneIn". However, it then says: "Sorry I can't find what you asked for". This is really disappointing, because Alexa plays radio stations without any issues. Any suggestions on how to fix this? Exactly the same issue reported https://en.community.sonos.com/google-assistant-and-sonos-229109/google-assistant-does-not-play-radio-stations-6833977 and https://en.community.sonos.com/google-assistant-and-sonos-229109/google-assistant-has-problem-playing-tunein-station-6825633 Weirdly Sonos seems to just keep closing the issues so you can’t comment on. Very poor customer service. As described in the other issues - this is 100% a Sonos issue. The error comes after control is handed back from Google to Sonos and the exact same voice commands work on google home devices on the same network.
Hi have a couple of Sonos devices:Play:1 (S1+S2) Play:3 (S1+S2) Move (S1+S2) CONNECT (S1) BRIDGE (S1)Most of the above devices are connected via LAN (cable). All devices show up as devices in the router. After having some issues with the powerline (PLC) in my house (sporadically high ping times between several computers), I analyzed my home network and found out that if the Sonos devices are connected to LAN, the ping times appear, and vice versa … they disappear virtually completely when LAN is unplugged. As far as I understood/read, maximum LAN connectivity should be established to Sonos devices? What is recommended?
I’m having an issue with the Google Assistant on my Beam. For the most part it works fine. At night I use it to play ambient sounds, but for some reason the sounds stop playing within an hour or two. I’ve looked up the GA help pages on ambient sounds and they state that the sounds will play up to 12 hours unless cancelled. I’ve not seeing this at all on the Beam. If I use a GA mini then it plays all night without issue, but obviously the Beam has superior sound so I’d like to to play there. Anyone else had this problem or know of a fix? Sonos support just tried to pawn this off on Google, which might be correct, but it seems like from what I can tell a GA here is the same as a GA there.
I have seen a few similar questions but nothing exact.I have my Arc connected to my Samsung Q70 via the Sonia provided HDMI cable. I never had an issue getting ATMOS vis apps such as Netflix - but recently I can only get 5.1 sound and not ATMOS. Does anyone have advice how to fix this? … I do understand that atmos isn’t available on all platforms / shows.
I have been trying to figure out the sonos api over the past few days, but unfortuanetly have hit a road block. I have already gotten my tokens and room names and and favorites Id, but when I send the curl request to play a song I get the error described above.Curl Code : curl -X POST -H "Content-Type: application/json" -H "Authorization: Bearer {TOKEN}" "https://api.ws.sonos.com/control/api/v1/groups/RINCON_48A6B88A5B14014XX:XXXXXXXXXX/favorites" --data @play.jsonI keep the body in a .json file called play which contains the code:{ "favoriteId":2, "playOnCompletion":true }I have not been able to find any documentation on this issue online, so any and all help is very appreciated.
I have scoured the forums and havent see an exact answer to this. I even called Sonos support and they couldnt even find my products under my email and account! Bizarre.I have S1 setup now as follows on Sonosnet channel 6;- Connect Gen 2 ethernet connected - Connect Gen 1 (not s2 compatible)- Play 5 gen 1 (not s2 compatible)- Beam, Sub gen 2 with 2 One surrounds - One Gen 1- Connect Amp gen 2 So i bought a One SL and want to set this up on same home network, but on S2 app by itself, and i assume with a direct Wifi connection to Router.I dont want it to affect anything to so with exisitng S1 setup above and dont want to upgrade any products yet. From ive read, should I;- turn off the Connect that is ethernet hard wired. Will this disable all the others?- Run separate S2 app and Setup the new One SL Will this then now not affect exisiting setup?Thank you Scott
Hi, I have recently purchased a Sonos Roam primarily to use while in the garden. I have set the Roam up in the kitchen (WiFi) and it is connected to a Sonos One (WiFi in the living room) ) a Sonos SL (Ethernet in the TV Room). Generally when playing in these locations the performance is fine, occasional buffering🥴. My problem starts when I attempt to move the roam into the garden, expecting it to pick up the Belkin WiFi extender. Initially it works ( it is within WiFi range (confirmed through WiFi checked on iPhone) however it then stops. I have read on various forums that this is now a common problem. What is being done to correct this “NOT SO ROAM…..ABLE DEVICE.”
I was wondering, is there a way to get a push notification of currently playing track to my raspberry pi device in my local lan?
Sonos won't stop playing music from my phone- even when I turn off my phone and unplug my WiFi router. No streaming services connected. I can pause via speaker button but can't control via app. Any idea why the Sonos controller app doesn't control Sonos?
When Sonos was launched, it worked very easily. Plug in and play! Now it is a single mess that you have to replace both the one and the other to make things work well. It stops and chops - NO this is not getting better and better but worse and worse - time to find something new ?? Or is it just me who experiences it that way?
Is this limitation and Amazon thing or a Sonos thing? Is this an active development item? I was considering purchasing the new sound bar but after learning this I don’t think I will. The whole point of Alexa is hands free voice assist. So turning off/on the microphone is not a valid alternative. Please let us know the status of this. Thank you.
Trying to use Sonos Roam via Bluetooth is a nightmare. The initial connection is complicated. The speaker doesn't know if it should be in pairing mode, or turn itself off. Once connected, keeping it connected is a circus. It will work for a minute and then cut out. Sometimes pushing the play button on the speaker will wake it up. Sometime pushing play on whatever app is playing music will wake it up. Sometime pushing the power button on the speaker will wake it up. SOMETIMES the phone says it's connected to the speaker, music is playing, but no sound is coming from the speaker. Apps in use were Spotify and Pandora. Also connected to the phone was a Whoop. Unless there's any good ideas here, I'm thinking of returning it and just stick with my old Wonderboom.
Hi all, I'm hoping someone could help me. I've recently purchased a Sonos Arc and installed it yesterday. I did this by simply connecting the arc to my TV via HDMI arc. It was a bit hit and miss when connecting to my Samsung JU6400 series TV. It seemed to have problems when connecting with the Anynet+ (HDMI-CEC). Eventually, I got it working. However, after turning the television into standby mode (off), it disconnects from the Sonos arc and I have to reconnect it all over again. Any ideas as to why its doing this and anyway in which I can fix it? Thanks all, Adam
looks like somethings broke, cant play from stream, but can if select artist from following and chose from song.
Hi recently subscribed to the Plex premium service and anything on my mobile works fine on Sonos. It's just music on my WD NAS won't work. If accessing the Plex app via the Sonos controller it works fine.Any ideas? Assume it's a NAS setting rather than the app.
User experience - The HD Fury works! Success! I can now watch content from my Xfinity cable box without experiencing audio delay or lag. My System:-LG 70in UHD SMART TV manufactured in 6/2018. No eARC connection but it will still pass Dolby Atmos signal (even though there is no literature that says it does)-ARC Soundbar-Xfinity cablebox ARRIS XG1V4 which supports up to 4K output.-Blue Ray connected directly to the TV-Apple TV connected directly to the TV (not an HD Apple TV)Pluses: No modification to HD Fury Arcana. Used auto settings. It seems to detect the best quality picture and sound and outputs what your TV and soundbar can handle. Immediate fix to all audio delays coming from my cable box. I was able to change my LG TV ARC output from a forced stereo output to Auto. Now I listen to most everything in Dolby 5.1 (depends on what the cable box is broadcasting for the channel or show) The ARCANA will pass audio and video from the TV (including the other HDMI devices hooked to the T

Spotify is just flat out not working at all in the Sonos app. Sonos S2 platform, all Sonos amps hardwired into the network. Normally generally have had no prior issues with Spotify integration & use in the Sonos UI< until very recent days. Reauthorize Spotify & it does nothing. Spotify app itself is working fine. Some issue between Sonos & Spotify. Deleting & reinstalling apps doesn’t fix anything either. Diagnostic report #: 711941355Help! Thank you!
I’ve got a play 5 that has recently been exhibiting problems connecting to Tunein or Sonos Radio. I have a both a bridge and a boost and after reading the forum here, thought I would start my troubleshooting by taking wireless out of the equation and so I plugged the Play5 directly into the switch and powered the Boost and Bridge off. I can get to the Play5 with the Desktop or Mobile apps, and can make station selections, but can not get them to play; I get a “connecting” message and then the app gives up. I can play Tunein on my local desktop in a browser with no issues, so that doesn’t seem to be the issue. Also I can adjust the volume controls on top of the Play5 and that is immediately reflected on the volume slider in the app, so the Play5 is communicating with the app. Suggestions? Also, I tried to follow the instructions to remove a Sonos Bridge, but there is no “Bridge Removal” in the Tools section per the instructions. I had Spotify working on my brand new Sonos system for a week until this past week when I added Soundcloud music service to my Sonos. I then tried to use Spotify and now keep getting an error message saying “the connection to Spotify was lost”. It is absolutely frustrating as all my other music services work. PLEASE HELP
I’m an authorized Sonos dealer. Installed a system 6 months ago in a cabin 100 miles from my office, configured system with S2 on my Android tablet, system working fine when I last left it. Customer does not use cabin during winter.I wanted to know how to completely delete the current Android configuration created with my company credentials and start with a clean install on customer’s iPad. Sonos agent wasn’t sure how deleting configuration would affect Sonos upgrades or any other effects. As another option, I had questions on transferring the system to customers account that’s to be created next week on their iPad. Needed to know if a 1 - Boost, 3 - Amp configuration created on a current Android tablet to an iPad will transfer without a complications. I’d prefer to delete and start from scratch but need a possible back up.Complete frustration with call - escalated and told best they could do is email transfer instructions (Android to Android?) just before call dropped. Both conve
Have six play ones and a Sonos connect (v1). Inadvertently installed S2, no NOTHING works. Spent >1hour on phone with support. Everything has been rebooted, reinstalled, factory reset…...nothing works. This is a PR nightmare for SONOS….as it should be. I have recommended SONOS for years, but now I will tell folks to run screaming. Does anyone have any ideas? I’m pretty sure I have tried everything mentioned on the boards, Sonos troubleshooting articles, and customer support.IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING A SONOS SYSTEM. PLEASE STAY AWAY UNTIL THIS IS RESOLVED!!
One of my One SL buzzes a little at low frequency during listening to music
I’m looking at my options for using an ARC with a 55” LG OLED CX. It seems a lot of problems would be solved if I use a Sanus WSTV1-B2 with the WSSATM1 to hold the ARC. The proposed room design would have enough depth for the WSTV1 to sit on a long cupboard top. This would result in the TV screen being 24.5 cm from the wall behind and the ARC sitting in free space above the floor as the WSSATM1 holds the ARC in front of the TV. Does anyone have experience of this mounts? Does anyone have an opinion about whether this set up would work OK? My intention is to use a couple of old PLAY 1s as rears. Thanks.
