Can't stop songs playing

Sonos won't stop playing music from my phone- even when I turn off my phone and unplug my WiFi router. No streaming services connected. I can pause via speaker button but can't control via app. Any idea why the Sonos controller app doesn't control Sonos?

Try unplugging your Sonos speakers from power for about a minute and resetting the Sonos app under App Preferences.

How would Sonos play songs from your phone when the phone is turned off?

Sonos almost never plays music from your phone, except On This Device on Android, or AirPlay on iOS. Which is it?
