My Sonos system has stopped working. My WiFi is working properlyMy Sonos system is stating that there is no Sonos Sytem on my network. I have reset the WiFi and tried connecting manually. It has been working for years without problem before this.
I just received my new Sonos Home Theater (Arc, Sub, and 2 ones). I have an LG 65 OLED C9 that sits on a TV stand, where the stand is in the old school TV niche and the TV spans the front of the niche so that it is flush with the wall. The bottom of the TV is at 19” and the top of the TV is at 51”. My seating position is 11' from the TV at about 40” high. I have 18’ tall 2-story ceilings in this room. Because of the upward firing speakers I can’t put the arc on the TV stand below the TV, but I could mount it on the front of the TV stand below the TV where it would clear the front of the TV. If I did that and had the top of the arc 4.5” from the bottom of the TV, the bottom of the arc would only be 10” from the floor. Alternatively, I could mount the arc above the TV. If I mount it 5” above the TV, the bottom of the Arc would be at 56”. Any recommendations are greatly appreciated.
I thought I would share this solution in case others have this same problem. I’ll admit I’m not an IT expert, but from my searching it seems like a lot of people are having problems with Sonos speakers dropping, not being found or not being able to mate as a stereo pair when connecting to networks that support both 5 Ghz and 2.4 Ghz connections. The issue with using my five Sonos One speakers with my Nokia BGW320-505 router from my AT&T provider seems to have been that some of the speakers connect to the 2.4Ghz channel while other speakers connect to the 5Ghz channel. When that happens SOME of the speakers are invisible to the Sonos app and can’t play music, even though they are connected to the wifi. I would reboot them and maybe get them connected and then they’d disappear a few minutes later or overnight. Or I’d get them connected but be unable to form a stereo pair. Other times repeated rebooting wouldn’t help. Very frustrating. What fixed it was to set up explicit filte
This topic has been discussed too many times to recount. Most (I dare say 99%) are negative. I’ve owned the Roam (two) as an early adopter during Sonos pre-order. My experience has been what I expected.Using the Roam outside in 90 degree heat will deplete the battery faster than when in the shade or a cool environment. I would think that most would understand that anyway. Note: I doubt very seriously I’ll be providing experiences encountered in extreme cold. The purpose of this post is to hopefully bring some closure regarding the Roam’s ability to retain battery life when not in use. To test the Roam’s battery retention I left my Roam’s unplugged and allowed them to go into sleep mode. 45 plus days (or so) later upon plugging them into power and adding them back to the Sonos App they registered 87% and 89% respectively. However, un-scientific you think my testing I’d say the Roam does not lose battery strength when in sleep mode to a great degree as has been suggested in other posts. Hi, I have just recieved the beam gen 2, and after only a couple of days usage I am getting a really annoying buzz at certain sound levels from the right hand side of the unit. I have looked this issue up on the net, and someone else had what sounded to be a similar issue. They reported that if they applied pressure by pressing down on the right hand side of the beam then it didn’t happen. This appears to be the case for me as well. Is this a known common issue? Is there anything I can do about it, or is it a return job, which I really can’t be bothered doing lol. Many Thanks
I just got my Sonos amp w/ Sonance speakers from Best Buy and I am having the same no volume at 0-30%… really have to have it at 50% before you can hear the music. And at 100% I’m not exactly blown away by the volume either. I’ve read thru all the other threads about this and never have found a solution. Spec..14 gauge wire on a 10’ run, no volume limit. Can anyone assist?
I have a Sonos Port and five Sonos: 1 speakers, all connected to an eero pro-6 tri-band. The Port is connected to the gateway eero via Ethernet. None of the speakers are wired (none are connected via Ethernet) but show up in the eero app as if they are wired to the gateway, same as the Port, which must mean they are connected via wifi to the Port, right? (I'm seeing their serial numbers in the list of Ethernet connected devices in the eero app.)The app says it's unable to connect to Sonos and shows the let's fix it link. I've followed that process a gazillion times to no avail. I've tried the find missing devices instructions a gazillion times. Nothing works. It all worked fine before I added the eeros. How do I get the Sonos app to find the devices connected to the eero? Again, only the Port is wired. Only two of the speakers are in the same room, but all show as connected in the eero app.
Hello folksI seem to have a horrific experience of keeping my 5 sonos devices visible to whatever UI I am using. I’ll try and list out the situation here and see if any of you kind souls have any ideas.Devices: 3 x S1, 1 Playbar & Sub (not used with any of the S1’s)Home WIFI is dualband with seperate 2.4 and 5Gh networks SONOS is aware of the 2.4 GH network SONOSNET is active (I have 2 devices on ethernet, all devices show as WM:0) S1 on ethernet (Hall) S1 on ethernet (Bedroom) This is a powerline type solution rather than a single run of ethernet from LAN to room (so it is router to powerline - then over wiring to powerline receiver - then ethernet to speaker) S1 on sonosnet (Dining room) Playbar and Sub on sonosnet (Lounge) On Sonos Desktop App (windows) I can see Hall, Dining Room and Lounge. I am currently playing on the Hall On Sonos Android App (2) On 2.4 network I can see devices depending on where I am in the house. Standing in the middle of the house now - I
Hello Just received the sonos arc. I am replacing a samsung curve ms6500 sound bar from 2016. My problem is the sonos sounds like utter garbage even compared to my ancient samsung. Theres no bass, depth, or i dunno how to explain it. It sounds tinny or metallic, empty. Does anyone know whats going on and how this supposedly unreal sound bar that cost me over 900 sounds like garbage? The only thing im hoping is its my old samsung 55un8500 tv and crappy arc one connect box or something but im not hopeful. Im 2 seconds away from returning this thing but i want it to work. I did go buy another tv , 2021lg oled c series and its coming in Tuesday so Im going to wait and see how it performs on a new tv vs a 7 year old one. Tv isnt because of sonos arc, more of an excuse. I wanted it lol. I dont have iphone and certainly not buying one as they are just as much money and lets be honest that shouldnt be a fix. Theres no true play android i assume? Thoughts or comments?
I just signed up to Amazon Music and have connected the service to Sonos. Problem is I am only seeing up to the letter “L” in the playlist library?
Hi,About 2.5 months ago I bought a Sonos Arc to go along with a Sony A80J. Everything is great except one very specific situation. When watching on HBO MAX and the show is in Atmos the sound will cut out every few minutes. In my case, the sound will not come back unless I turn the television off or switch the audio source back and forth. However, once it is back it will cut out again a few minutes later. I can watch movies/shows in Atmos on HBO Max with the TV speakers without any issue. I don’t have any issues watching shows in Atmos on any other app (e.g., Netflix, Disney+) or in 5.1 on HBO MAX or otherwise. Any suggestions on how to fix this problem? It is really frustrating because I want to take advantage of the Arc when a show is available in Atmos. Thanks for you help.
Anyone has issue with account and system greyed out in the Sonos app, unable now to setup my beam and sonos
I have nine Sonos speakers, three of which are the picture frame. All three bought at the same time from the same place. The first one connected no problem and was found by an echo dot and control works great. The other two are set up in m office as a stereo pair. Both connected to my Sonosnet and all visible on the app with a connection of WM0, so they are all functioning. However, if I try to use discovery service in the Alexa app, they are not found. If i start any other room and then couple the office speakers to them everything plays. I can then turn off the primary source and listen to the office speakers. This is simply not how it is meant to be. I have tried every work around I can think of. Deregister, re-register, use pass through, changed the channels on the boost, etc:Any thoughts?
Hi, I am having trouble getting my surround and sub connected to my playbar. The setup consists of a playbar, two play ones, and sub. I can setup up all the devices individually and even connect the sub and two play ones in stereo together. But when I try to connect them to the playbar it goes through the whole process and eventually fails at the end. There is a question mark next to the playbar where sub should be. Diagnostic report: 376772923I have already reset and restarted everything. Went though a interference diagnosis. Connected the playbar directly to Ethernet. Etc. Any help most appreciated.
I own two Sonos One speakers, one Sonos Move, and one Sonos Playbar. My diagnostic reference number is 1323800420. Our whole system will play for hours on end at times and then just start not working. We’ve reconnected it to the internet multiple times and ensured they’re all on the same network. It got better for a while but has started doing it again recently.
My Sonos port regularly (every 10 to 20 minutes) drops out music stream for about 0.5s-1s. I especially noticed in with Tune-In, but I’m pretty sure it also happens with other sources. The port is connected to an Marantz AVR. I tried both digital coax as well as analog connection, the symptoms are the same. The Port is connected to network by Ethernet, WiFi is disabled. I don’t have drop-outs with the AVR on any other source, nor do I have drop-outs with my other Sonos components (Move, Play:3, Playbar).Has anyone else issues with drop outs on Sonos Port?If sonos support reads this: I uploaded diagnostic logs shortly after dropouts:16176981111993359435
My iphone se can no longer find my system but the ipad has no problem. I have not changed anything and re- installed the app
Hi,I’m streaming a movie from using the HDMI port from my MBP to one of my Sony Bravia’s inputs. The sound is coming out stereo, but I can’t seem to get surround to work. In Midi setup I have the config setup to surround and it works when testing the speakers, but not when streaming the movie. Any suggestions? Thanks!
Hi folks, I recently purchased a pair of Sonos Fives for my living room, and a Move for the rest of the house. I’m very happy with them. I have a question regarding WiFi extenders - no doubt similar to others that have been asked, but I guess everyone’s use case is slightly different. I have a downstairs gym where WiFi is patchy. If I have the Move upstairs (i.e. where connection is easy) and play something then take it downstairs, it can still remain connected to the WiFi network, but it’s patchy and often drops out. It seems harder to play something from scratch downstairs. I also have a treadmill down there which requires WiFi. This seems to work a little better, but again sometimes it’s glitchy. I’m looking for a solution which would extend WiFi connection down there reliably. Hopefully this would work for both devices - i.e. I’m not sure a Boost would do anything for my treadmill! Browsing some previous forum conversations it seems this is not completely simple. Suggestions mo
I am planning to add Wifi 6 Mesh (probably Netgear Orbi) to my system, and am concerned about Sonos compatibility. Will Sonos work as-is, or will I need to hard wire a Sonos component to the router? If so, will a Sonos Bridge work? Any other mods or tricks I need to know? Thanks!
I have set up daily alarms that play apple music playlist. It's very flaky. I have noticed that the playlist works during the day. But the first alarm in the morning is failing consistently. It plays Chime instead of the playlist. I have to tap on the play button to stop the Chime. After that it works as expected starting with my next alarm till the end of the day. I have submitted diagnostic information via ticket 1574779059. Can you help?
Few days ago radio.net stopped streaming radio stations in Sonos App. Streaming the station over airplay works but not via Sonos app at all.
Hey there,I’m unable to pair the Roam via Bluetooth with my iPhone or iPad. When I try to follow the directions online, I only received a flashing green light and the device doesn’t show up on my phone or tablet in my Bluetooth preferences. I tried a factory reset which may have actually screwed me because I’ve read that I first need to set up the Roam when on a wifi network. I’m currently away from home which means I can’t sign into or alter my Sonos account. Am I missing something? Can’t I simply use the roam as a Bluetooth speaker (like other Bluetooth speakers) without having to log into my Sonos app? Any help appreciated!
Hi all ok we’ve had this problem with our play 5 for a long time now (only speaker on on S1) the rest of the system is S2, anyways the play 5 randomly disconnects and stops the music for up to 30 seconds or so then carry’s on playing, it doesn’t disconnect as such but mutes the music but when it plays again it’s actually sounds like it’s been playing for that time period it was off (so as if the music is playing someones turned the volume down for a few seconds then turned it back up) we recently changed out WiFi router to a MeSH one and was hoping this would sort it out (like other issues) but it’s still the same. Could this be a network issue? All the speakers on the S2 app never seem to do this cheers
Hi Sonos, I’ve been in the tech world for the last 3 decades and have always been up to speed with most of the recent technologies (just to point out I’m no newby to networks & technology, so I don’t get these reboot this or that)What has happened with my Sonos speakers over the last couple of months is getting ridiculous.I never had any issues when I used the S1 app and my 2 Play1’s and 1 Play3.After upgrading to the S2 app and upgrading the speakers in the beginning everything was fine, but now since a couple of months I keep loosing my devices… (always the same 2).I’ve browsed through every solution on this forum, but the same result over and over again.I’ve reset the router, speakers, unplugged, reinstalled via an ethernet cable, updated the Wifi settings via the remaining speaker… but once I plug it out of the ethernet cable the speakers goes away (even set next to the wifi6 (set up in bridge mode)).I can reset the router, unplug the speaker, but it does not reappear. It’s come
