I’ve had this setup for a year without any issues and now all of a sudden, my rears and subs syncs out with my arc…I can easily notice because I hear echoes and when I pause the movie or show it will continue to play for a second. Only resetting the power on my speakers fixes it then it comes back later randomly. What gives ? I didn’t pay $$$ for this sort of inconvenience.
Hi,I have a BT Smart Hub 2 and I’m in the UK. I downloaded the Wi-Fi analyzer Android app to check for the best 2.4ghz channel to set my router to. I have noticed on it though, that under the 5ghz tab, myself and pretty much everyone around me is set to channel 36 (my Router has this one set under it’s auto smart setting unlike the 2.4 where it had a manual channel selected). When I then do diagnostic on the app it tells me everything is fine apart from the 5ghz channel where it is reporting interference : 90% and recommends another channel - 38 through to 44. I know I would have to turn off the smart function to set this in my router otherwise it will just revert back to channel 36.Is there a reason BT would have set the Hub in that way for the 5ghz channel and should I leave it alone? Or would picking a fixed one that isn’t used nearby be a good thing to do?
Sonos Voice Control has a "what's playing" command, which is helpful, and there's apparently a way to check the battery level on battery powered speakers.I'd like to see another command added, something like "status", that would give more "state" information about my speakers (I can think of these offhand - there may be more):current Volume level current setting of Night Sound toggle current setting of Speech Enhancement toggle maybe which speakers/rooms, by name, are playingThe volume level would be particularly helpful - one can ask for louder or softer, or for specific volume levels, but I'm probably never going to ask for specific volume levels (even if I want to make a substantial change) without knowing what the volume level is *now*. Yes, I could look in the controller app. At that point, SVC has already lost, because if I have to open up the app, I'll just change the level there.
I’m excited to try the new Sonos Voice Control, but only if it allows me to choose music from the NAS server on my local network. I have not seen this functionality mentioned in information from Sonos, so does this mean music on my NAS won’t be supported?
Hello All,Wondering if there is a way to get the new Sonos Voice Control to work with iTunes Match? Technically, iTunes Match works by matching your physical copies of songs with songs on the Apple Music Library. On the Sonos App, I’ve linked my Apple Music (iTunes Match) subscription with their services, but because it is not legitimately “Apple Music”, I can’t get Sonos Voice Control to work properly with my Match catalogue. Anyone have any suggestions here? Would be nice to be able to send music easily from Roam to Move, but you can’t do that simply with Airplay Music, so I was hoping to be able to start up music directly on the speakers with the Sonos App.
I’d love to know your experiences with the Sonos voice control grouping commands. It’s been wildly inconsistent for me, and support is stumped. Maybe we can find a workaround together.Using many permutations of grouping commands (e.g. “Add <product name>”, “Group <product 1> and <product 2>”, “Remove <product name> from group”) some products work great, and others are inconsistent, regardless of which phrasing I use.Sometimes it silently fails (but the music goes back to normal volume when it stops listening, so I know I did wake it up), sometimes it says "I can't locate that, please check your product names in the Sonos app."For a long time I thought it was fine for one-word names but failing on with two-words, but then “Living Room” and “Dining Room” started working along with “Kitchen” and “Office.”Consistently failing:Front Room Master Bedroom Master Bathroom(Could these be reserved words? I might try renaming later and will update if anything changes.) Upda
I’ve had Sonos one speaker with Alexa for years. I ask her to play Virgin radio or even bbc radio 1 or 2 and she says “playing virgin radio from Lianne’s radio” then plays nothing. it was working the other day, any ideas.
Every time I use the tidal application to synchronize with my Sonos system it constantly gets out of sync after some music. I then hear the music playing in the speaker of my smart phone. It is not a problem of wifi since all my sonos devices are connected with ethernet wires. In addition all my devices are 3rd generation Sonos. I never have a connection problem on any of my devices in the house, I never have an internet cut, I have an ultra-fast connection (400 mbps / s), I have a recent smart phone ( galaxy s20), I never have a synchronization problem with Tidal with any other device except with sonos. It started from day 1 (be since the purchase of sound systems in summer 2020). The Tidal app is up to date, my android phone is up to date, the sonos app is up to date. I contacted Tidal Tier 2 technical support and they told me that there is absolutely no problem on their side and that I should contact the Sonos team.
I have a Port connected to a 3rd party receiver/speaker setup, and the Port is the only audio source. Is there a solution that will allow the Port to switch on the 120V power to the receiver (maybe somehow using the Sonos-family 12V switching capability)? It seems not, but looking to see if anyone has thought about this. Thanks!
So, I know that right now having a pair of Fives as surround for your home theater, is impossible if one of them is being used for line in.Reading some topics in this community, it’s clear that, having this option would be greatly appreciated. My question is: why is that not possible still? Sonos sells turntables sets in your website, why don’t let people use their Fives as surround as well?
I only get Stereo PCM with a Hisense 65u8gI currently have 2 symphsonik and a Beam gen 2.My roku ultra gets dolby atmos on a different input so I do think there’s something fishy with the PS5 not detecting the EDID setup? What I am expecting is Multichannel PCM via eARC.Any hints guys on how to get multichannel PCM going via eARC?
Hi all. This problems had plagued my enjoyment of my Sonos Move . Several helpful call to Sonos support and many BT Firmware upgrades made no difference to the temperamental connection to the Smart Hub - until today!I simply disabled the ‘smart search’ function on the 2.4 GHz page of the Hub and set it to the suggested channel (1). Now connecting and staying connect to the Sonos MOVE. I even have the Hub using mode 1. Does this work for others?
It seems that I am unable to get the newly released Sonos Voice Assistance now that it has been released. I have updated all of my apps (both on the Mac and iPhone) checked for updates, which shows as up to date and I still don’t have the option available. I have power reset the entire system.I have tried using multiple mobile devices, same result.App Version: 14.8.1Build: 68329240Can I get assistance?
When you select a particular artist in Tidal you can then choose between Top tracks, Albums, EPs and singles, Playlists, Artist radio and Compilations. When selecting Artists radio you are taken to a playlist with no way of starting it. You can only select a track.Clicking the first track does not begin playing everything and adds only that one track to your Sonos playlist.Tidal Artist Radio worked until a few days ago, something has changed.
I have a 2 Roam system running on an Asus mesh wifi. Worked great indoors but was having lots of drops when I’d move the speakers outdoors. This was frustrating because the Roams insisted on connecting to the router, which was further away, rather than the nearby node.Long story short, I used the ‘Bind’ function in the Asus App force each Roam speaker to connect to the node instead and now it works great. Note: it did give me a warning that the wifi signal at the node was poor so it may cause dropouts, however, this has not been the case and the node is clearly the better signal. But that would explain why the Roams weren’t automatically connecting to the node instead of the router: the mesh ‘thought’ that was the better signal. In any case, this was such an easy fix to a frustrating problem that I wanted to pass along. cheers,Frank
Today when I launched the Sonos app a pop up asked if I wanted to add my new Sonos Port to the system. I don’t own a Port. The pop shows the serial number of the device, which I understand is also the MAC address. I logged into my router and didn’t see any devices with this MAC address connected to my network. I’m sure I’m not connected to my neighbors WiFi so how does this device keep showing up in the app?
After hours of trying to get a stupid Beam soundbar working through surround speakers, i’ve given up. Over an hour with a Sonos tech and no one knows wtf they’re doing. meanwhile, i just hook in an appleTV and the speakers all sound fine. Sonos has the best sound when it works, but it never works for long. I’m constantly dealing with connection issues and this last one wasted several hours of one of the few days off i have.I’m returning this POS beam soundbar. i wish i could return my entire sonos system. the engineers at sonos are terrible and things never seem to get better. funny thing, i had this all set up just the night before and today it was all f’d up and sonos customer service had no idea after over an hour. Waste of time. i wouldn’t advise anyone get Sonos. i doubt Bose or any other system has the constant connection issues that Sonos can never seem to truly fix.Junk.
I’m currently on holiday, renting a cottage on the south coast of the UK. Took one of my Roam’s plus my Move with me to use with Bluetooth and I’m super impressed to find that Sonos Voice Control works on the speakers in a basic way on both the Roam and Move speaker. It will play/pause/go forward or back a song etc. I did notice when I got here that both white mic lights were on which I didn’t expect, but obviously they are on because it will work with basic functions (speaker only functions, rather than app functions). Do any of the other voice assistants works with a portable Sonos speaker out and about? I used to use Google Assistant but hadn’t at that point, taken any of my portable speakers out and about, so don’t know if it would have worked or not. I’m guessing not.
I've been gifted a roam SL for my birthday, I'm pretty tech minded but cannot for the life set it up. I spoke to live chat yesterday but they were about much use as a chocolate fire guard. Upon setting up the roam via the app, it goes through the discovery, the audio PIN but then it just gets stuck on connecting .I thought it may be issues with my mesh network so tried again connecting to my main router instead. I get to the same point again. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, tried setting up a new account with a different email but still nothing. For something of this price bracket I expected more Any ideas on what to do? Or should I just admit defeat and send it back and replace with something more reliable Thanks
HiI have an Apple Superdrive connected to my iMac and frequently play CDs which I listen to through the iMac inbuilt speakers. I recently purchased SONOS Roam speakers and I can play music stored on the hard drive through the Apple Music app and have it play through the Roams (and it sounds great!), but I can't get anything when I play a CD and expect to hear the music through the Roams.Any ideas?
My main room is Sonos Arc with Sonos Sub with 2 sonos one in the rear ( 5.1 ) The Arc is plug into the Router with Lan cable. The second zone ( Kitchen ) it’s 2 Sonos One on wall on wi-fi ( 15feet away with -45db straight signal ) The Third zone it’s outside with a Sonos Move. The problem is when we group all 3 , there is a lot of drop off. I Tried differents combition …..As long I let 2 zone group and the other one alone no problem…My 2.4 Ghz is on channel 6 and the sonos net is on 11. Any clues ???I call Sonos , 2 hours with tech in Philipines :( and nobody were able to help me ??Any clue??
I have read everything about trying to connect to xfinity WiFi. I understand not one word of it. Seems the answer is to return the Sonos and buy Something else Too bad I love all my Sonos products that work fine at my other house. But this house will have to find something new
Not able to use Alexa on Sonos Move - recently bought. Please guide how to integrate and use.
We have just installed a Sonos System for a client in a large house. There are 3 Sonos Amps running ceiling speakers and TV audio along with a couple of Play 1 speakers. After visiting site today we noticed that the IR to the Sonos Amps had stopped working, if we power cycle the Sonos Amps IR control works normally then stops again.ISSUE 2. We have hardwired one Amp to the router then daisy chained the other two ( looped from one amp to the next ) and disabled Wi-Fi in the Sonos Amps. Everything worked fine for a few months but now they get intermittent audio dropouts and skipping tracks when streaming from any music service, TV audio is fine. Sonosnet is not an option as the house is too large to bounce the signal. They have submitted a diagnostic - 205459698Any advice greatly appreciated.Lee at Emotivv
OK. I posted a while back about this but out of desperation I tried a few things including: Purchasing a 2nd CONNECT that is S2 compatible, ANDMoving the music library drive to a different host, ANDDownloading and installing S2 to all hosts, and yes EVEN…Copying the .music library to a NEW standalone drive; I have tried that on the regular host as well as another host PC on the network.Oh, I even rebuilt two operating systems thinking that maybe there were some files that had been corrupted. That’s right, I actually completely rebuilt the O.S. on two machines and reinstalled all software that I had previously installed on them. ALL of this in an attempt to make these two pieces of electronic excrement work reliably. NOTE: This DOES NOT happen with streaming services. However, I have a broad record / CD collection that is in-house, and I like having them available rather than a possibly somewhat compressed stream version. The fact that this doesn’t happen with streaming does not, in any
