Sonos Five surround & line in

So, I know that right now having a pair of Fives as surround for your home theater, is impossible if one of them is being used for line in.

Reading some topics in this community, it’s clear that, having this option would be greatly appreciated. My question is: why is that not possible still? Sonos sells turntables sets in your website, why don’t let people use their Fives as surround as well?

The surround configuration makes the surround speaker a direct link slave of the soundbar,  This configuration is one way, from soundbar to surround, making the line-in disabled.

It should theoretically be do-able though, if this is, or could be in a future version of the Five, a two-way link. It does seem odd that it’s only a one-way set-up.

Not really odd or even unexpected when a speaker is used as a surround. Many functions are disabled when a speaker is bonded into a home theater set.

Grab some One SLs for your surround use and put the Fives into a stereo paired room, then the line in will work.
