Troubleshoot, tune and get the most out of your system

I have a SYMFONISK bookshelf that constantly has problems connecting and playing music in wifi.I now have an ethernet connection to plug into it. I did a factory reset to start the whole process from the beginning. But now in the Sonos app I can’t delete the old system as it’s grayed out under the System setting. If I try the “Let’s fix it” it tries to walk me through connecting to the speaker’s internal network but it won't connect no matter if it’s connected with the ethernet or not. I tried to sign into my Sonos account online and just delete the system there but I can’t see a way to delete it. So basically how in the world do you just start from scratch with a system that has already been in the app. It seems so simple but it isn’t. My experience with this product has been terrible so I wonder is it just a bad single product or is this indicative of the Sonos experience. Seems overly complicated on many ways.
Hello, before posting I tried following the existing guides but without achieving the result I wished. After changing my internet provider I 2 Sonos one SL weren't found on the app(S2). Until so far I have tried factory reset, app reset and tried to set up a new system through Ethernet cable. What I have "accomplished" so far is only one speaker playing and only when it's connected with an Ethernet cable, although WiFi option is enabled. Both of them never worked together. Also when I try without the Ethernet cable both of them have the whole spectrum of led lights blinking. Has someone an idea?? because I ready to give up😩Thank you all in advance
Hi folks, I recently got a pair of fives and I’m having questions on what is the optimal placement for them. The red square represents the size of the image projected. I thought about mounting them on the wall (Numbers 1) but the right side (window side) difficults this situation since the speaker will appear in the image. Left side is no problem since I can get the speaker outside the image. The other options (Number 2 and 3) would be using standing mounts. Placement would be dependent on optimal distance to sitting position (10ft or 5ft). What would you suggest? I’ve read that the best placement is at ear level. If this is true, number 1 is discarded. I’m open to other options but as you can see my space is very limited. Thank you!
I bought a lot of sonos, a lot.. and I had it all working together with google home. I understand you got into it and did your corporate thing and whatever. Understand this, if I cannot simply stream soundcloud, pandora, or spotify directly to my speakers then I have zero reason to buy anything from you ever again. Now understand I really hate getting online and onto forums… to the point it’s only happened once in the last 20 years and you are the lucky winner. I have been through every troubleshooting tutorial, and I work as an architect in big tech… and I still cannot get your ****** *** system to work. Although your app did crash a few times and it failed to release previous streaming content and it wanted me to switch to your voice assistant. I hope some C levels read this and wake *** *** up. It’s my vacation and I am spending it pissed *** *** off bc my 10k sonos system IS A PIECE OF ****** ***. *** you for ruining it. Moderator Note: Modified in accordance with the Community Co
I’ve had a few discussions with people here. We concluded that I had the wrong channels selected on my WiFi/Sonos system. Changing those helped a lot. Now I’m having issues with the three installation options. One solves the issues I have, but creates other ones. I have an Orbi AC3000 with 3 satellites. I have 21 Sonos Nodes powering 24 speakers (one is Amp with L/R/S). Three are BT capable (so no SonosNet). My gold standard is being able to stream HDMI audio sources or a streaming song everywhere, hearing the first chord, and experiencing no drop outs. The three options are:Amp plugged into Orbi Satellite Ethernet with WiFi on, generating SonosNet for all my speakers that are wireless. Several are plugged into Orbi (base or satellite) with wifi off. Audio plays 99% perfectly. Starts instantly, is smooth, adjustments are fast (volume, pause, seek). But, I see like 30% of my network requests fail. It’s like a request goes down a Sonos node and then just hang. So apps/stuff ju
I use a Playbar with two Play 1 speakers as rears, (the Playbar is plugged into the router) and am hearing slight drop outs in audio that is labelled as Dolby Digital 2.0. I’m watching on an LG TV, with digital output set to “Auto”.This happens from a variety of sources, including an Nvidia Shield and the BBC iPlayer app on the TV. The problem seems to disppear if I select the digital output on the TV to “PCM”, but I am loathe to do this, as it will impact all audio the TV outputs and DTS, etc will be compromised unless I change the setting each time.I know there have been a few threads on this in the past, but all the ones I’ve read seem to be years old and have fizzled out without a solution - is this just an issue that Sonos never fixed? I’d like to add a subwoofer at some point soon, but not if this issue is still unresolved. Thanks in advance.
Hey, I’m deepest music lover and artist. I want to add sonos music on backeend of my editing video Which I made with Alight Motion Application. I have attached sonos music with my video but when I start to play it the it start Stuck when I play It. Can I need to attached Any HDMI cable With the my phone to tranfer sonos sound in it?Waiting to your responce. Thanks.
As many of you already know there there are a good amount of problems with this new update.. I never had an issue before with voice or dialog before the update and the bass was pumping. That is pretty much the reason why I spent over 3 grand on my system. I wouldn't spend $500 on this system in its current condition. I get better bass response out of my bookshelf speakers. After spending almost 2 hours on the phone with Tech Support uninstalling, reinstalling and updating everything everything absolutely nothing has changed. I hope they get this figured out in a timely manner and get it back to at least as good as it was before this update otherwise I foresee a class action lawsuit in the making.
When I try to add Apple Music service in the S1 app (Android 11), I get a blank white screen at the point where it’s supposed to bring up the Apple login page. I tried on two different Android 11 devices. I tried adding other services as an experiment, and they all transfer correctly to the particular service login page at that same point. I asked Sonos support, and they tried some suggestions on Chat and looked at a diagnostic dump, but in the end they were stumped. I’ve successfully connected Apple Music to Sonos before, so it looks to me like a new bug between Sonos and Apple on Android 11.Unfortunately Sonos doesn’t provide any options. The Windows app is not allowed to add Apple Music. Neither is my Amazon Fire tablet running FireOS 7.3 (Android 9). Neither is the S1 app running on Android 7 any more, the device I’ve always used before. And my iOS devices are too old to run the latest S1 app. Update: I tried updating to S2 - didn’t help, same problem.I’m out of ideas. Any suggest
Hi,I have 19x Sonos Play 1, - and music playing throughout the house. However, when they are not playing and I am sleeping they still consume 3.7W each, (~70W combined) to no use at all. They are therefore configured to all by on the same electrical circuit on which I have a kill switch, so that they all go offline. This was originally thought of as a way to kills my teenage kids playing music too late or just when we left the house for a few days. But now it seems silly/lack of respect for finite resources, not to use this each night when I know they will not play. However, - I then run into the regrouping issue. Before I can start playing music, manually or automatically, - I need to fiddle with the Sonos App to regroup all the speakers. A feature, where on restart a speaker goes back into its default group would be great. This allows greater convenience, and allows me and others to turn the whole thing off at night and save electricity - for our individual and collective benefit. I
Sorted now : o) On my phone the Sonos 1 and the other 2 different sonos speakers are recognised. However in Windows 10 controller app the 2 are recognised but the Sonos 1 is not. this is only a recent event.
So I recently picked up a new Sonos Move for an outdoor garden application for my father. He wants to be able to have a wireless speaker that can be played to from his iPhone for 5+ hours in the garden, and want to be able to pair multiple of them. The Sonos move seemed to fit the bill best. In addition, we have already ordered everything to overhaul his wifi network (multiple indoor/outdoor access points based around TP-Link Omada).I have the same TP-Link Omada setup in my house, and have been testing the speaker to figure out all the details before we set them up at his house. The Move seems to not be able to handle roaming between access points at all. If I move from one side of the house to the other, it clings to the original access point for as long as possible. It will reconnect to the other access point if I unplug the source access point, when looking at the device in the Omada controller software, I can see it switch instantly when it loses the original access point com
I changed my password on my Apple Music account. It works on all devices. Sonos app asks if I wan’t to “reauthorize” I say Yes. There’s no place on the Sonos App to enter the new password. So reauthorize fails. And I am stuck in an infinite loop. I see that Sonos owners have been asking Sonos to fix this for 2 years. I don’t see any solution in Sonos’ support boards. Is Sonos ignoring this on purpose because Sonos has it’s own music service? Are they willing to loose thousands of customers? What can be done about this?
I have a playbar, sub and 2 sonos 1's as my rears with Alexa built in. Since alexa doesn't allow drop in with Sonos, I am trying to figure out if I can use an echo dot for alexa (turn off alexa feature on the 1's) and still keep the surround sound as well as the easy access of playing having alexa control?Appreciate any ideas??
Hi there,Recentely I bought the Sonos Beam gen 2 soundbar for my LG C1 tv. I connected it with a HDMI ARC cable and I made it surround with my two SonoS one's. The moment I wanted to experience the Dolby Atmos, I figured Netflix is only showing me Dolby Vision and no Dolby Atmos. The moment I unplug the soundbar Netflix is showing Dolby Atmos (since my tv supports this). I wonder if I am doing something wrong, but I thought Netflix would show me Atmos with this setup. Can somebody help me with this or explain why this isn't working? If you need any more information, let me know!Thank you in advance!
Spotify loses connection with my Play5 Gen 2 when streaming both when initiated from within the Sonos app or directly from Spotify. No issues streaming to Beam, Sub, Play1 SL and Play 1 on the same system. all software versions up-to-date. This is a recent issue?
“Sorry, the media account and the Google Account” do not match. Even though they do! Factory reset of device but same problem. Incredibly annoying problem that a lot of people seem to have. How can this be solved?
I have a large local flac library that is too big for the Sonos indexing system (about 70 000 songs). To be able to play all music via my Sonos system, I've simply attached my laptop to one of my play 5’s via the 3.5mm jack. Music is played on my windows laptop by a separate player (Winamp, I'm old school). However I feel that the quality of the flac files is not fully appreciated using this setup. Is there a better solution available?
Hi all,Listening to music on the Beam/Ones/Sub setup is not great. I really enjoy the HT experience, but even when setting the “Surround Audio > Music Playback” to “Full” it’s just not as good as the 2.1 setup of Ones as left & right plus the sub. However switching between the two modes requires breaking the HT config, creating a stereo paring, and, then breaking that go back to HT -- but even worse it loses the True Play which has a huge impact in our room (a combined kitchen / living space). It’s frustrating, and I am looking at other non-Sonos options for music listing in the same space, just so as to leave the Sonos HT config alone.Does anyone know how things are going on the Sonos software features side that could allow for this?Have they announced anything? Is there at least beta testing underway?
I was living in San Miguel de Tucumán. I recently moved to Yerba Buena. My ARC was in my bedroom. In my bedroom was a lamp that I turn on and off with a Google Home Mini. Both, Arc and light, where on the same Bedroom, so the order “Turn on the light”, just turn the correct bedroom light. Now my Arc is in the living room on my new house. But when I ask the temperature, all my google devices answer with my new city temperature, but Arc answers with the previous city location. And when I ask “Turn on the light”, I get “I cannot find bedroom light”, even I place both, ARC and Lights, in a new room called Living.I’m lost on where to change something so the Arc recognizes it’s in the living room. Thanks
As a reasonably techie guy I’ve been helping my neighbour set up his domestic sound system. He has a Sonos driven output in 5 separate rooms. There is a mixture of Sonos 5 speakers, Ports feeding AV amplifiers and an Amp running a pair of speakers. All the rooms are very separate acoustically apart from the lounge, which has a large opening into the kitchen/dinner area. The lounge has a Port feeding a good Sony AV surround sound amplifier and the kitchen has an Amp driving a pair of passive speakers. And so he is suffering from the dreaded ‘stadium echo’ effect when playing music in both the kitchen and lounge. The mechanism is easy to understand; the Sonos kit is all synchronised together but the Sony AV system adds its own delays after the output from the Sonos Port. Because the Sony amp, along with many other AV systems, is designed such that the video output is always lip synced with the TV picture, changing from surround to direct modes does not affect the audio delay. So it is i
Have been using Apple Music Service thru the SONOS app (S2) on my Android phone without issues (for many years). Yesterday my Sonos updated to latest software (14.12) and now I am unable to browse any content in Apple Music. Removing and resinstalling the service fails to resolve the issue - It gets stuck in a cycle of continuously requesting the service be reauthorized. Called Sonos and had 2 very frustrating calls. First support agent told me it was an Apple problem and to call Apple. I think everyone could predict how that would turn out! Apple verified my account and confirmed I could access their service thru the Apple Music App. There was nothing on their end they could address. Called Sonos back and went thru the same painful process only to eventually be told it is a known issue on Android devices - Really it took an hour and a half of my time for Sonos to then admit that! No solution. No ability to roll back the update. I was provided a case ID, but when I asked for a Ticket n
Last October i canceled my Sonos music subscription service. Sonos did cancel the service but continues to bill me every single month. Despite multiple emails and phone conversations, Sonos support/sales cannot seem to figure out how they are billing me each month even though i give them my credit card #, email, name, etc. I can call my bank and chargeback all these charges but was hoping Sonos would actually research and resolve their billing issue which is occurring without my permission. Wondering if i need to have a lawyer send a letter to them?
Bonjour ma sonos Beam a des craquelures sur le dessus au niveau de la jonction tissus et plastiques est ce normal ?cdt
Having a bit of trouble making sense of how to install this with that wall mount and could use some help. My tv is on the ground and I realize that the sanus arc tv mount has to go on the bottom holes before I mount the tv. The problem is the mount backer thing is only on the top and based on the su-wl855 instructions after I lift the tv and hook it into the mount, then I put the screws from that wall piece into the bottom holes of the tv. Am I wrong to then assume that I will need 3 people to install the tv? As I will have to put the back piece of the su wl855 first then have the 3rd person screw into the wall bracket while 2 people hold it up? Thanks a lot. also a bit confused on whether or not to use the spacer. manual here for reference https://www.sony.com/electronics/support/res/manuals/5004/453320bc03e41c49f8852fb982b51207/50040731M.pdf
