Bought a Sonos One and connected it to my old 2x Sonos plays.I did this to set up Alexa routines for my daughter. While I have been able to get music to play out the speakers from a routine,I cannot get it to do an Announcement through any of the speakers from a routine. When I press play on the routine it says “Now playing you routine” but no sound is played.I have reset the speaker, removed the Alexa app, re installed it re connected it to the Sonos app but it still did not work. There is a post on the Sonos community talking about this from a couple of months ago but it seems like it is working for some and not others.I was hoping someone here might have some thoughts on getting this to work.
We have a ton of difficulty getting consistent audio to come out when using Apple AirPlay to play Apple Music through our all of our Sonos Speakers. We have 10 varietal (brand new) speakers and we use a Sonos Port to play audio through additional old hard-wired speakers using a regular Yamaha amp. When it’s working, it’s amazing!!Wondering if anyone has suggestions on how to listen uninterrupted. It goes off regularly now, even when I leave my phone stationary in the kitchen. Thanks for the help!Jordan PS: We much prefer airplay because of the Apple Watch compatibility with Apple Music. I wish Sonos made the watch app! The LYD app is not a replacement. I tried it!PPS: Additional Apple Incompatibility Side Note: the Sonos Apple Music management system is really lack-luster. It’s very unlike the actual Apple Music app, which makes it hard to get the same great listening experience. Examples: Playing all music by an artist is forced sorted by album, you can’t easily start a radio stati
I’ve tested this multiple times with different audio channel checks and changing the level of the surround in the Sonos app only affects the side surround channels, not the rear surround channels.I’ve unpaired and repaired the Era 300s to the setup and no matter whatever way I try it, the rear surround channels do not change volume.I find the rear channels much too quiet and there’s seemingly no way to change it. I’m not sure how no one else has mentioned this (unless I missed it).I’ve done it with and without Trueplay, different channel checks, unpaired and repaired surrounds, etc. The rear surround channels will not change volume unless I raise overall volume which then of course still leaves them quieter relative to everything else. Please tell me someone else has noticed this. I’m on 15.2 so it’s not like I’m missing a software update.Set up is Arc, Sub x2, 300 x2. Any help or input is appreciated. Thank you!
Hi, please can you help me, I have recently installed ceiling speakers and they sounded incredible, until I asked the decorator to paint them to match the room.. they now sound terrible and like they are under water, Anyone have any suggestions please? (they are paintable) Thank you
Since a recent update, when you open the volume control on the android widget, the back button just decreases the volume of the entire speaker group. Whereas it used to just close the widget.Highly annoying trying to undo 10 years of muscle memory, please fix it!Happens on my phone and tablet so it isn't device specific.
Looking for advice for updating our home theater and music setup after our AVR recently died. I like Sonos convenience and sound, so I’m thinking about not replacing the AVR and instead going deeper into the Sonos ecosystem with an Arc for the TV room (probably shouldn’t really call this a “home theater!”). The room is open on the left to the kitchen, on the right is a patio door. It's about 13 feet from the 65" TV to the opposite wall. In other rooms in the house, I have a Sonos:Move, two Play:5’s, and two Play:3’s.Current setup: Anthem MRX-510 AV receiver that stopped working after nine years and isn’t worth repairing Klipsch Synergy F-30 towers, Synergy C-10 Center (all bought on Woot, not expensive) Klipsch SW-350 subwoofer Two Paradigm CI Elite E65-R in-ceiling speakers over the couch (12 feet from the TV, wall is behind couch). If I bought an Arc, could I use these? Vizio P65-C1 television (vintage 2016) -- will I need a new TV to leverage the features of the Arc? Source
I have previously had issues playing to multiple devices, especially ALAC. The solution was to add a couple of ethernet connected devices to SonosNet, this has worked well.I understand that the first device playing is the group coordinator, and if possible should be a wired device.Reason I ask, is I’m thinking or replacing some wired P1’s with ERA100’s and don’t want to break my existing system, ie cause drop outs etc. Here is the Network Matix with P1’s connected to ethernet, this is fine and stable: I disconnected the two P1’s I want to replace with ERA100 and SonosNet doesn’t look so healthy. If I add a couple of ERA100’s in this setup, I would be stressing the SonosNet again, and the drop outs may return? What happens when a non-SonosNet is the first device?eg lets say I start streaming to an ERA100, and then group a non-wired SonosNet device. The stream will go through router, via WiFi to ERA, back via WiFi to router, then via ethernet to wired SonosNet device, and then onward via
why is the music not working when paired as surround speakers major flaw returning my sonos 300 speakers
In the old days before Sonos I used to just be able to sync up with my neighbour (we have great neighbours and enjoy the same music) and put it on the same radio station. Because it was on the same time delay (instant) we could enjoy the same environment without two different sounds going on. Now with streaming services and delays in network traffic not to mention Sono’s time delay to make sure all the speakers sync up we can’t do this. Is there anyway to do a neighbourhood sync so we can give permission or even a crazy technical hack (we are both pretty technical) to make this work. Only think I can come up with is to run a network cable between the houses but then we would still need to be on the same network. Thoughts?
It’s only been a day with the Era 300s, but something I sort of picked up on with the Arc setup that stands out a lot now that I have two atmos capable rooms. I can’t use my multroom audio system to play atmos music in multiple rooms very well. The minute I group a non-atmos room into my atmos room, I lose atmos music where it can be played. Lowest common denominator. Sure, I could eventually add more atmos rooms, but many spaces will never makes sense for atmos. Bathrooms, garage, outdoors, etc.I think I understand why this is the case. Atmos tracks are complete different than strereo tracks...a different file is being played. Where as you can ‘extract’ mono from a stereo track for mono only rooms, You cannot do the same with atmos and stereo. So, what is needed is an audio format that contains a track in atmos and in stereo with all audio channels in sync. With this, your atmos capable room can play atmos audio while your rooms that are only (only?) stereo/mono capable can play
Hi Guys, My traditional AV Receiver has kicked the bucket so I decided to dip my toe into the world of Sonos . all new to me so apologies in advance for any dumb questions! I have purchased a second hand Amp ZP100 Gen 1 to replace the AV Receiver which currently runs 4 x Monitor audio CT180 in ceiling speakers. They are rated at 6 ohms. I wanted to connect simply connect 2 speakers to the left channel and 2 speakers to the right channel of the Sonos amp. However on reading it looks like doing this means the rating lowers to 3 Ohms which will cause issues with the sonos Amp causing it to shut down for protection. Is my understanding correct and im better of just using 2 speakers not 4?Thanks in advance
Hey there! I’ve never had trouble connecting my Sonos to the internet. It’s only about 2 years old. I moved last week and my new apartment uses AT&T InstantOn internet. I don’t know many details about it or what to even look for as everything is already set up. Has anyone encountered this problem or know how what I can do correct anything? I usually believe problems like this are due to user error but part of me feels like I’m going to have to retire my Sonos until I move into a place with regular internet? (My apologies, I am very tech and internet illiterate and can’t believe I just said “regular internet.” Lol)
Yesterday I discovered that somehow a tool on my workbench had partially cut through the wire attached to my Sonos Roam wireless charger base unit. The wire was connected but cut partially and appeared that the conductors were not reached, looks like it should work still but seems not to.So I have to ask, why does a purportedly high tech innovative company resort to trapping customers just to make a paltry few tens of bucks? The base unit could have had a detachable wire, perhaps a simple jack plug or other form of USB connector, but no: Reinventing home audioThe wire is fixed, cannot be removed and so cannot be replaced, leaving the only option as buying a new base unit and paying 50+ dollars. This is a commercial decision, plain and simple and if Sonos cared about the customer experience or their reputation as a designer, “reinventing home audio” as they like to claim, they’d have done this, made it easy to replace a simple piece of wire.So why not stop running with the herd? why not
Any tips on tuning this system? Not thrilled with the sound quality. To tinny and no real base to speak of.
I just updated to version 15.2 and now I am unable to group any speakers. I can access them all and play music individually, but I cannot pair any together.
My computer upgraded to the 15.2 but it's an older Mac and I didn't see anything about announcement or anything about the upgrade incompatibilities and now it's not working at all it's crashing. I've got no way to hook up my Sonos speakers at all. please if anyone knows where can I get an older download. This is insane one would think that you could put another earlier version on - most websites know that people keep their computers longer. I really need to keep this computer I can't afford to get a new one please someone help me find an earlier version. I upgraded to 15.2 and it's completely ruined my whole computer please help me.
So yesterday i upgraded to a new SKY Router and have tried to connect my SONOS One pair of speakers etc, i have opened the APP on my phone which gives me the option ‘sonos and your mobile device must be on the same network ‘lets fix it’ ...tapped this and brings me to ‘Update Network’ tap this and it brings me to ‘Go To Settings’ which just brings me to ‘App Info’ page were there is no help to continue….i am so frustrated with this as i am going around in circles :(everyone was so helpful last time so here goes againany help appreciated :) thank you
Okay: I am interested in upgrading my current Play:3 surrounds to Era300’s.Price per Era300 €499, nice surprise: a set is €50 off to €948Bummer: when I use my upgrade-program-voucher: the price reverts to €999 Sure: I get it: the conditions say: ‘a voucher cannot be combined with other offers’ but it still does not make sense really that someone who bought 2 Play:300’s and upgrades to a set you lose the set-price.
Hello, i just got two sonos move and i can't seem to connect both together, I'll have to switch off the first one before the second one can work or put it in Bluetooth mode. I have tried resetting it multiple times but i still end of with the same issue, if i do not switch off or change the mode of the first one, the other won't connect and show on the sonos app.
My first messageMy second messageWhat am I missing other than it won’t play?
My current setup has a BEAM gen 2 up and running easily on the wifi network for my TV. I bought Sonos Roam SL as a speaker to connect to my computer a bluetooth device. I have tried this numerous times:Factor reset (power + play) wait for green blinking Sonos app (iOS) go to system and add device. Device shows up, connects to my wifi (takes a few minutes) Shutdown (5 second press) and startup Shows in my Sonos app -- as unregistered. Click to register, asks for my account + passwordAt this point, it NEVER works. Says something went wrong please try later. Wow, that’s as useless an error message as you can get! My online profile shows my Roam SL registered, so it got to your website. I figured, ok don’t care if it doesn’t work over wifi, I need bluetooth anyway:The instructions say press-hold power button to get pairing tone and blue light… NEVER happens…I’ve seen conversations about getting the firmware updated.. how can I accomplish that? The sonos app doesn’t see it registered and
Hello !I decided to improve the performance of my home wifi connection by using Google Nest Wifi.As a result, I no longer connect to the wifi of my internet provider's router, but to the wifi network of the Google nest box.Since I did this, the speed at home is much better, but I can't play music from the Sonos application. If I reconnect to my original wifi (my provider's box) and reset the Sonos conf, it works. If I reconnect to my Google wifi and I reset my Sonos system, it doesn't work anymore, on any Sonos service, I use Youtube Music, and it gives me an error 701.Do you know what I can do?I am using the default settings of Google Nest Wifi, I have not customized anything!
I’m thinking of getting an Arc and a 65” TV but I’m failing at the first hurdle. I cannot find a TV with enough room under the screen to fit an Arc underneath (without blocking the screen). Even one of the Sonos marketing photos shows the Arc looking like it is slightly higher than the bottom of the TV. I don’t want the hassle of wall mounting and don't really want to buy a bespoke stand as they seem a bit hit and miss.Considering how many people own Arcs surely there is a solution I’m overlooking? The TV will be on a cabinet (much like most of the Sonos marketing photos). Thanks
This is still an issue. Why why why. I have tried ALL the remedies offered everywhere to no avail. HELP.
Hi - I’ve just bought a Sonos Port to plug into my Denon AVR S750H receiver -- but I see that the Port seems to have digital cables with RCA-style plugs, and my Denon has an optical cable. Is there some sort of adapter I can purchase that allows me to go into the optical audio-in on the Denon so I don’t have to sacrifice another input? I’m not real knowledgeable about these interfaces, so I’d appreciate any recommendation you might have. Thanks!Steve H.
