Sound Latency issue, I need some help. I am trying to use my Sonos 5 as the center channel of my old & trusty Sherwood 5.1 receiver/amp, the Sonos input is connected to the Sherwood’s center channel line-level out via the 1/8” Sonos jack for input (of course not the headset out jack) appropriately connected and selected in the SONOS app. When playing content via the Sherwood (god I love that thing @ 15 years old using the SPdiF fiber connection) unfortunately even though the Sonos is jacked in to the Sherwood’s center channel via 1/8” audio plug cable, I am getting detectable latency of audio between L&R channels out of my side speakers and the SONOS center channel. It’s barely detectable but is just enough to be off-putting, perhaps .5 second delay between the side speakers and the center SONOS channel. Sounds like the audio is in a big empty room or concert hall with lots of reverb. I have reverted to my old trusty Logitech PC speakers for the center channel, no delay de
Bonjour, la prise en charge d’Apple Music Lossless est-elle prévue dans l’application Sonos S2 svp?merci d’avance pour votre réponse
Yesterday everything was working fine. This morning I had Updates on both Sonos 1 and Sonos 2 - I run old and new products separately.Sonos 1 finds NAS drive OK and let’s me update the list.My NAD 10 streaming tuner using BluOS finds and updates listings OK.Sonos 2 will not show any connection to NAS drive.I can hear that it is accessing the drive from the crunching noises it makes, but it won’t show the Drive on the System under Music Library.Passwords are correct, path is correct, connections are correct.I believe this is a software issue following this morning’s update.Anyone else had problems? p.s. I’ve tried using both the app and my laptop - Nothing I’ve tried using text path and numeric path - Nothing
When Sonos would let us separate our rear speakers so we could use them to listen to music elsewhere and return them with the soundbar without having to Trueplay again and again if we put them in the same place every time.
This has been an ongoing but seemingly ignored request by Sonos, but why is there no reboot option from the app?I have a regrettable $6,000+ Sonos system that is awful. It cuts out all the time and with every phone call to tech support I’m given a list of excuses why they’re cutting out and ultimately I think it’s their software. On the most recent phone call I was told one of the zones that was presently playing did not exist. Anyway, in addition, with each tech support call I am told to reboot all of my Sonos devices. The only way to do this is to physically unplug them and plug them back in. OR, they can do it for you remotely. I have 11 Sonos products. So unplug them and plug them all back in is a PITA. One of them requires I move my refrigerator. Another requires I climb up into my attic. Another requires I move my entertainment center and television. For a company that sells accessories specifically with aesthetics in mind so a person may conceal the wires, they sure make using th
Hi,I've been using a Sonos Playbar and a few Play 1 speakers for many years now for a 5.0 type configuration. For playing music we mostly use a handy iOS device and this works very well. Occasionally the nearby Windows 10 PC hooked-up to the Bravia TV is also used to play music on the local NAS, using the Sonos windows application. After a recent upgrade of the motherboard and a higher gen Intel CPU, I've noticed some strange occurrences with the NVIDIA HD audio drivers freshly installed on the “new” upgraded desktop PC. Some problems encountered : (1) Audio cutting out when booting the PC, (2) some crackling/popping sounds when playing YouTube videos, (3) booting the PC and finding my audio settings in the sound panel reset to default stereo, 16-bit 44.1KHz (this happens 70% of the time), and generally a problematic audio output coming from the NVIDIA graphics card that’s going to the Bravia TV via HDMI (and to the Sonos Playbar via optical). Not ever suspecting that the Sonos windows a
Selecting something from Sonos Radio in the app (Android) produces the pop up message “Unable to play ‘Sonos Radio’. Connection to ‘Sonos Radio’ lost”. Suggests I check my internet connection. Same message on another device. In the Windows app it also fails, but suggests that I might need to reauthorize my Sonos devices. Trying that in the Android app under the Sonos Radio service setup, I just get “failed”.So I tried the usual thing - unplug and re-plug the speakers to reboot. Then try re-authorizing Sonos Radio again. Now it works.Typical Sonos. Got to love those informative error messages. I hear Sonos consulted the ancient Greek Oracle of Delphi for advice on proving clear messages. :)
Recently upgraded to Sonos 15.2 from 15.1. The new version won’t work on my old Mac. How can I revert back to 15.1? That is the last version that will work with my old Mac.
I have 2 Sonos ports connected to an amplifier. It looks like the Sonos ports always output some sort of audio line output so the amplifier doesn’t power off. I have seen it off once but it is very rare. Does anyone know what causes the Port to output voltage on the audio out or more importantly what causes it to turn off the audio output? examplesApp is connected pause or playanytime it is powered I can’t really use the trigger as the amp only allows for 1 trigger and I have 2 ports.
Hi everyone,I own two Sonos Roam’s, often configured in stereo mode and the app version is 15.2.1.I used this system in the last year without any issues, I usually open up the app on my iPhone/iPad Pro and the Roam’s wake-up immediately. In the last month until today, this simply function seem broken. I always have to turn on manually the both Roam’s.I didn’t change anything, maybe it’s the last update (of the app? of the firmware?) but I cannot be sure. What I can check?
Hi. I’m having a problem with my Sonos Ray dropping audio while using the Youtube app through my Apple TV 4K. The Ray is connected optically obviously as there isn’t another option and it seems to only drop audio with Youtube. However, the other day it did the same with Amazon Prime Video but that’s only been once. We also have an LG tv. Is anyone else having this problem?
The album “The Dark Side of the Moon” (2011 remastered) is in Dolby Atmos on Amazon Music unlimited. But it is only in HD via Sonos App on my Sonos Era 300. Other titles are in Dolby Atmos, Dire Straits etc… I have the Dolby Atmos badge. Never for The album The Dark Side of the Moon I have only HD badge.
Anyone using the Sonos app on a Lenovo Chromebook running Chrome OS? All the postings related to the topic are years old....any current Chromebook users out there in 2023?
Hi All,I recently picked up a Beam (Gen 2) and a pair of SYMFONISK to upgrade my home theater. Everything is connected and when playing sonos content via the app, I get sound coming from all of the speakers. When I connect my ancient (pre-2010) Toshiba 40xf550u, I’m not getting surround sound from my PS5 or AppleTV. The Toshiba has two options for sound PCM and Dolby Digital. I’ve selected both it doesn’t seem to have an affect. I suspect that the Toshiba isn’t capable of sending the Dolby Digital despite saying it can, at least for HDMI sources. The only thing in the manual about limits on Dolby Digital out is the generic statement:The DIGITAL AUDIO OUT terminal may not output some digital audio sources because of copy restrictions.Nothing in the manual indicates what those digital audio source limitations might be. Is there a way to check in the Sonos app what type of audio is being received? I also tried an HDMI switch with audio out and had the same problem, but it’s one of the che
Bonjour, impossible de me connecter en airplay avec itune sur haut parleur player 5 2eme génération
There’s been much discussion about clicks, pops, etc. Sonos will fix this, so I’m not concerned. I’m considering replacing One SL’s with ERA 300’s as surrounds with an ARC and Sub. Is it worth the investment? Do the ERA 300’s significantly improve the ATMOS experience?
I’m a bit raw to all this, in achieving optimum sound balance for Arc and two 300’s as surround speakers. I currently have my 300’s around 4 feet away and level with my Arc and sub mini at the front (until I get my floor stands). I watched a film in Atmos last night and wasn’t sure what volume level to have the 300’s set at. Whatever I did, nothing seemed to give me the up and around effect in helicopter scenes etc. I have the sub mini bass set on zero (due to bass from Arc and 300’s). Any ideas please? I’m aware that in surround mode, the centre speakers on the 300’s is weak; but even then the Atmos height and surround effects were weak. TIA.
According to the specifications of the player it is hdmi hdcp 2.2 and the audio formats that it puts in the manual are these: Supported audio formats 2-channel Linear PCM 2-channel, 32 kHz – 192 kHz, 16/20/24 bit Multi-channel Linear PCM 7.1-channel, 32 kHz – 192 kHz, 16/20/24 bit Bitstream Dolby Digital / DTS / Dolby TrueHD / Dolby Digital Plus / DTS-HD Master Audio / DTS-HD High Resolution Audio / DTS Express I understand that it does not support HDMI eARCRegards
Hi! My new Sonos Era 100 is on Wifi channel 44 (5GHz) and my older Sonos Five is on WiFi channel 11 (2.4GHz) or Ethernet UTP cable. I do not own any other Sonos speakers. According to Sonos chat support, the speakers being on different wifi channels is the cause of the speakers being randomly ungrouped during playing music or Netflix audio through Bluetooth. Suddenly the audio content will only play on one of the speakers. Very annoying. According to Sonos chat support, I can't put the speakers in the same room to prevent ungrouping, because they are not the same type of speakers. How can I set both speakers on the same wifi channel? (channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4GHz)? Preferably by keeping my current auto select 2.4GHz/5Ghz. I do not enjoy two separate networks. Hopefully you can assist me! Any (creative) solutions are welcome :-) Regards
I have 5 Sonos devices, AMP, 2xPlay3, Playbar & Sub that all are on Sonosnet via a Boost. The boost is the only Sonos device connected to my wired managed switch (Juniper EX2200). All Sonos devices have static IP’s (reserved in DHCP).The switch has several VLANS but runs in L2 mode. These are the relevant ones for connectivity;192.168.1.x/24 - Wired Network192.168.4.x/24 - Wireless NetworkI have several other networks configured on my OPNsense firewall that connects to the switch. It acts as the router for the network and has a plugin to allow multicast called UDP broadcast relay. This currently bridges multicast on ports 1900, 5353 and 6969 and IPs 239.255.255.250 & 224.0.0.251Firewall rules:Allow UDP on 6969 from Wifi to Sonos IPs and vice versa, also from Sonos IPs to 255.255.255.255Allow UDP SSDP/1900 from Sonos IPs to anywhere, also anywhere to 239.255.255.250Allow UDP mDNS/5353 from Sonos IPs to 224.0.0.251, also Wifi to 224.0.0.251Allow UDP SSDP/1900 from both Wifi and W
I bought a Sonos Era 100 to use in conjunction with a 2019 Macbook Air running Venture 13.3.1. It became clear that the Sonos speaker was not suitable for me and I took it back. But now after I deleted the Sonos app almost all of my audio files cannot be opened by any of the applications I use for audio (Quicktime Player, VLC, the Amazing Slow Downer, or the infuriating Music). I thought it might be something to do with permissions as it seemed for a while that if I copied a file to the desktop and deleted the “SonosDM” from the permission list on the Info panel it would open. But then that seemed to stop working. I tried various things: disk first aid in recovery mode, deleting some Sonos folders that were still in ~/Library, abundant restarts. Oh how weird. I seem to have fixed the problem (at least for now!): I attempted to change the default open-with of one mp3 file from Quicktime player to VLC. It wouldn’t take but now it seems that file and every one I’ve tried opens as expected
I have 4 symfonisk gen 2 plus play 3 should I add sub mini?
