Hello everyone! Can someone please help me identify what “Model S14” means under the Sonos beam soundbar? Thank you!
Is there a quicker way for the app (android or PC) to speedy up the scanning of a music library on a NAS on my home network, or are there any plans for Sonos to change the way to access this content?I have a reasonably large music collection (nearly 60,000 tracks over 4,000+ folders), if I push new audio up to the NAS, I need the app to rescan the content before I can play it. About 20 minutes each time (if I’m lucky). Isn’t is about time this element of the app is rewritten so it works more like a File Explorer/My Files type of program? You just upload, drill down to the content and it’s visible instantly? (And yes, I do know you can set the Music Library to update overnight.)It’s 2025. It’s bonkers having to do this nonsense.
So frustrated with SONOS. Loved it when I purchased when two Play 5 speakers and bridge in 2011. Great sound. Rock solid App. Then a couple of years ago, purchased the new generation Five’s. But there is no bridge. The sound is great. However the APP is terrible. Not user friendly. Not stable. Too many times I can’t play anything. This would be embarrassing if I have company. I thought they were working on a better app but obviously not getting anywhere. I still have one of my old speakers with the old APP. Works rock solid. They keep sending me emails about purchasing new products. No way! Moderator edit: Changed “Play:5” to Five for accuracy
Hello!I red here that it is impossible to connect my new Sonos Ace headphones to my Sonos system to hear music via my project T1 SB turntable connected to Sonos Port. T1 SB has no Bluetooth. The only possibility would be to buy an other turntable with Bluetooth. That’s a pitty. Do anybody know, if Sonos will develop a new function to make this work in future? Br, Frank

HiThe last few days we are unable to connect to any of the SONOS products we have from our Android phones using Tidal and the cast button. We can see the devices and when you chose a device the cast button briefly flashes to show it it connecting then stops. If I use the Spotify amp, that connects with no problems.CheersAndy
I’ve just moved into a new house and have acquired the existing AV system from the previous owner, all of which was installed around 2015 I believe. I’ve already updated the TV to a new OLED, but my next step is to figure out what to do with the audio system. I am currently just using the TV speakers as the old system is quite complex - plugging into an unlabelled mess of cables and Cisco boxes! The Current SystemIn the TV area the current system has two rear speakers mounted into the ceiling which are connected to a Sonos Connect: Amp. There is also a Sonos Playbar which I believe was connected to the old TV via optical cable. And finally there is a rather large Sonos Sub which I noticed was unplugged by the previous owner - not sure why! There are also two ceiling mounted speakers in the outside patio area, connected into a second Sonos Connect: Amp. What next?I’m wanting a simplified system, but something that makes the most of what I already have. Also don’t want to spend an absolu
Hi, I noticed that when Trueplay is enabled, the two Era 300 surround speakers are automatically set to the maximum distance (more than 3 meters), meaning that since they're positioned very close to the seating, their presence is very strong. I know I can lower their level, but I wanted to know if this is normal, or if I'm doing something wrong, since I can't adjust them like I do without Trueplay. Many ThanksRoberto
For weeks now my Sonos system has been rock solid (it is only a single pair of 300s). Suddenly over the last few days I get repeated reports of “No Products Found”. It eventually clears itself but the problem periodically comes back (it has just done it again). Internet speed at the device running the app is 160mbps. Are there any issues with the Sonos network?
hi have been using phones both android and apple lately to run system - tonight used laptop i cannot add new radio stations or see settings - i am offered update but assume that is to sonos 2 and the system is all old so dont want to do this. the only things i am offered are check for updates and change language - any thoughts
When I enter the Sonos application and am connected to my headphones via USB C cable, the song shown in the playback is not the correct one.The title of the last song played through Bluetooth appearsYou can interact with the controls, but I insist that the song that is played is not displayed correctlyAny Solution?
I use the USBC cable connected to my iPhone to listen to lossless music on my Sonos ACE. An option to turn off charging while listening to music would help conserve the battery of the phone and headphones Does this feature exist? If it doesn't exist, SONOS should create it. It would be very valuable
The volume is very low using USBc USBc connection on the iPhone. The volume of the Sonos app and the volume of Apple Music are not synchronized. I can turn up the volume in the Sonos app. This is very strange. Some solution?
Two weeks ago my Sonos system stopped playing self-created playlists. I spent lots of time troubleshooting through the Sonos not and chat. The answer: We will work on this. Use Airplay or such. So, I am advised to trade one clunky software for an even more clunky option. I soooo regret my Sonos investment. Would NEVER recommend the service to anyone. In fact, I now proactively say “stay away.”
Apologies for the longish title but there are a lot of threads discussing speakers dropping, but none seemed exactly like mine. I love my Sonos system but ran into connection issues when I changed my WiFi from Xfinity cable to an ATT Fiber Router and added two Eero 6+ mesh devices to get signal around my house. While I’m not an IT expert, so excuse any naming errors, I am not afraid to try things out.My system: S2 app, Play 1 gen 1 & Sub Gen 3 (Grouped), Amp (Outdoor Speakers), Arc Ultra (TV), and Boost (now offline). Everything is wireless, no direct connections after dropping the Boost. My Issue: After connecting everything, which took a while, the Arc Ultra kept getting dropped. If it connected, then either the Amp or the Grouped Play 1s or Sub would get dropped. I could see all of the devices in ATT Gateway Router (Nokia) and on my Eero app. After researching the issue, I think that there were conflicts with the wifi bands and wifi sources. The speakers were connecting to the A
The Sonos app only works on three of my four Apple devices (three iPhones, one ipad). Is there a limit of three devices?
First of all, sorry because English is not my language. I hope to express my feedback correctly. Also I’m new in Sonos, so perhaps I missed something…I’ve spent a small fortune in my living room set up with an Arc, a Sub and two Era 300. After that I was anxious to test Dolby Atmos music, so I replace Spotify first to Apple and then to Amazon music. First shock, when I realised that AirPlay is not able to play in Dolby qality, so the Sonos app use is now mandatory if you want to get all the features you pay for… and then a nightmare starts:You can’t play next or previous song from the blocked screen of your phone. Now I have to unlock the mobile every time I want to change a song. That’s not the way I used to play music before! You can’t change the volume with the mobile buttons. And it’s even more annoying as it’s a common need when you’re listening music. Songs jump when I’m using Apple Music through the Sonos app. Not always, but every 20 or 40 minutes you have a glitch. Same feelin
After many months of frustration periodically trying to restore S2 controller access to my local Apple Music library and collection of FLAC on a (wired) external drive, I finally got both working about a month ago. What a relief...But, sometime in recent weeks (maybe days) both stopped working. I’m getting all the old error messages about Sonos not having access. I don’t think this corresponds to a MacOS update (currently Sequoia 15.7.1) or a Sonos Controller update (currently 17.2 build 9006717), but I’m not sure.I really don’t want to restart the process of trying to reconnect these music libraries. It seemed very flakey no matter what instructions I followed. I’m hoping someone knows of a specific potential cause for this, so I can resolve it with minimal trial and error.P.S. Through all of this (1+ years), Sonos has streamed music to my speakers just fine.P.P.S. I highly recommend the MacOS menu bar controller from Lyd. It is better in every respect than other ways I’ve tried for q
I have finally hit the end of my rope with Sonos Connect. The whole system was about to go down the chute when someone said, “No! Wait! The Sonos Amp is what you really need for your turntable!” (OK he said “...need for your vinyls” but, you know...)That’s a lot of scratch when I already have a phono amp. So I was looking at the Sonos Port.Which is also a lot of scratch. And is black - when all my other Sonos gear is white. But my real question is:Is the Port indeed materially better than the Connect? It’s expensive - how soon before the next generation improvement is released?
Hello:Everyone should know by now that Sonos can be susceptible to wireless interference from any number of sources/devices such as: Microwave ovens Baby Monitors Crowded Wi-Fi neighborhoods Wi-Fi appliances Security Systems CamerasTherefore, one way to mitigate the interference is to have a stable network. However, I’m not going to discuss network configurations as that’s a subject for another time. I’m sure you can find any number of discussions on networks in this community. What I do want to discuss is Steaming Apple Music Lossless. Many have complained about stuttering, songs stopping abruptly and/or skipping to the next or worst-case scenario the music just STOPS! The above seems to be more prevalent Streaming Apple Music Lossless when several rooms are grouped. As a side-note Sonos is very chatty on its own and can tax a network. Grouping several rooms can compound the issue of taxing a network as doing so requires more buffering to keep the stream going across multiple rooms.Get
I’m trying to play music from Spotify in ‘Lossless’ quality on my Sonos Amp via Spotify Connect, but the option doesn’t appear. In the Spotify app, it shows (for the Sonos Amp): "This device currently supports streaming qualities up to 'Very high'." "This device is not compatible with lossless audio quality. To listen in lossless, try changing your device." I’ve tried connecting via both mobile and desktop (Mac) Spotify apps and have already followed Spotify’s official “Listen in lossless” steps (https://support.spotify.com/uk/article/spotify-connect/).Has anyone successfully played Spotify Lossless on a Sonos Amp via Spotify Connect, or is this a known limitation? Any advice or workarounds would be appreciated!
As deep as I dive in Sonos world, more issues I’m finding. I hope this one is just a settings mistake or a SW easy-to-solve topic. Although reading some posts from 2 years ago, I’m really scared.Since I started to use SVC a couple of days ago, (to skip the missing of control with the phone locked), I’ve figured out that the mic turns off randomly so, when you try to speak with Esposito, there is nobody there.I’ve read the manual trying to find what I am doing wrong. Then, I reinstall the SVC in Arc thinking it could solve it. But the result is still the same, the mic switches off constantly. But I can’t believe a hardware issue is not fixed 2 years before…. Or even worst, that Sonos is sending old bars or damaged ones knowing that.I’ll call support this evening or tomorrow, because that’s the recommendation of Sonos’ staff, but just to know if somebody finally solved it or have some advice. Thanks!
Hello, I’ve had Symfonisk and Play:1 in my system without major issues, but after connecting a Playbase this weekend, it’s only been misery. I bought it knowing it would have issues with the wifi-card based on the know issues (and the seller said he issues connecting with it), but thought cabling it should work. But even connected with ethernet and optical from my tv, it’s been wreaking havoc with the already connected speakers in the app. Its unstable both on its own and making the app crash, sometimes it connects, othertimes not, cutting in and out. Tried disabling the wifi, but then it stopped connecting at all and I had to reset it. Trueplay makes the app crash and the Playbase unavailable. I’ve tried over and over again, resetting it and adding it again, but it just won’t work properly. Now I’ve unplugged it and added the other speakers again, so the app and the other speakers work fine again. Is this a known issue? I thought it should work when cabled even though the wifi-card i
After months of trying (and giving up) to set up my Sonos Play 5 (Gen 1) with Starlink - I finally have a (very straightforward) fix...STEP 1 — Split your Starlink Wi-Fi into two networksYou’ll create: • Starlink_2.4GHz → for Sonos • Starlink_5GHz → for your phone, laptop, etc.How to do it: 1. Open the Starlink App 2. Go to Wi-Fi Settings 3. Select Split 2.4 & 5 GHz Bands 4. Name them something like: • Starlink-2G • Starlink-5G 5. Save + Router will reboot ⸻STEP 2 — Connect your phone/tablet temporarily to Starlink-2GSonos setup only works if your phone and the Sonos speaker are on the same band during setup. So: 1. On your iPhone → Wi-Fi 2. Choose Starlink-2G⸻STEP 3 — Reset the Wi-Fi on your Play:5 Gen 1 (NOT a factory reset)Do this: 1. Unplug your Play:5 2. Hold the Play/Pause button 3. Plug the speaker back in while holding the button 4. Release when the light starts flashing whiteThis clear
