Hi there Our Sonos Port appears to have developed a fault. This morning when we went to use it, the unit was not showing in the app. On inspection, it appears to be powered off. There are no lights visible on the device, and the network port lights are off. Things I have tried to diagnose / resolve; * Removed the power cable and leave unplugged for 10 minutes. Reconnecting the power cable had no effect * Performed a reset by holding the Join button will reconnecting power. No effect. * Disconnected all cables, including the network cable and power cycling the unit. No effect. * Move the plug to another socket (it has until now been plugged into a surge protected extension lead). No effect. This includes moving to a direct wall socket rather than an extension. Has anyone got any tips? Terrible timing as the kids have records coming for Christmas and our turntable now doesn’t work 😩
So after upgrading my home network, I had the option to hardware my Beam G2. Seemed like a no brainier, my WiFi was getting reasonably congested and wired is alway better when available. I also saw the option to disable WiFi, so of course I thought why not. I spend the next two days trying to figure why no audio was coming from the Sub Mini. My 2 rear One’s were working, and they are WiFi, so I didn’t consider it was the WiFi option I disabled. I re-added the sub and the app reported everything as being connected just fine. Eventually found out that it was disabling the WiFi that was the problem. I understand now that it requires a direct connection to the Beam (odd when the much older Ones don’t, but whatever) But not reporting/warning this when you do it, and saying the system is running and connected OK, is a massive oversight for such a usually polished experience.
Hi Folks, my Sonos Port is plugged in to a Lyngdorf amplifier via digital coax and has worked fine since I set it up initially. However, I’m not hearing any sound from the Port now, and the amp says it’s receiving a “PCM Zero” signal - it was fine on Sunday but no sound from any source on via the Port now. Has an update changed something? Any help would be hugely appreciated, thanks!
I just started with sonos ones (5x) coming from Alexa speakers.Immediately I hit this problem that the volume of alexa is the volume of sonos. That way alexa is unusable when the volume of the sonos is low. It is just impossible to hear the reply from Alexa. When music is playing round 2-6% alexa ls response is not hearable. Please can this be separately splitted?
I currently have an era 300 in one corner of my room and a HomePod in the opposite, I have a fairly small room so the sound when both connected via airplay fills the room great with a decent amount of base.I got the era 300 as I was upgrading my turntable set up and it accommodates it and it does sound great, however I obviously can't connect the HomePod at the same time so only comes out the Era, I listen to a lot of jazz, swing and blues via the turntable, therefore requires a lot of bass but I don't think its quite good enough with just the one speaker without turning up the volume too much. I turned up the bass via the app but then it overloads the vocals.I love hearing the bass without compromising the rest if the instrumentals. Long story short do I add a sub mini to the set up or a Sonos five?
Hi all, I've had a Sonos system with 3 Sonos One's working for years without any real issues. We recently switched to Fibre which meant having our router on an outside wall, thanks to a breeze block built house we then needed an Amazon Eero mesh system to get any signal outside of the kitchen! Now none of our Sonos speakers will connect and it's driving me insane! I've tried switching the router to Bridge mode, pausing the 5ghz signals and buying a boost to run them all on Sonos Net but every time when trying to add the speakers again I only get as far as "connecting to your Sonos One" then it says unable to connect. Tech support told me to ring my internet provider who told me about the pausing 5ghz signal thing but it's still not working. It's like there's a WiFi setting which is blocking it from adding the speakers
The touchbuttons on my Move suddenly no longer responded. I turned the device off, and now it doesn’t respond at all and won’t turn back on.I tried resetting, leaving it off the charger for a while, nothings worked. When connecting it to the charger orange light on front turns on for a few seconds before it turns off again. any advice?
I use a Beam (Gen 2) with my LG C2 TV. Ever since the LG software update to version 03.33.90 in November 2023, the audio of my Beam makes a loud drone noise when certain types of sounds are played (e.g. a crowd cheering in the background of a sports game, or a rushing river in a nature video). It doesn't happen when I AirPlay the same audio to the Beam from my iPhone, therefore the problem is in the interface between the LG TV and the Beam. I can’t figure out how to downgrade the software on my TV. How can I fix this issue?
We just had a client call and tell us that they suddenly weren’t getting any audio out of their newly installed Sonos Amp. The connected TV nor any streaming music service would produce sound even though the app indicated it was playing. After walking them through the typical volume, mute and source scenarios, we decided to make a visit to the property. Everything appeared to be connected properly. We dove into the settings for that particular AMP and discovered that someone inadvertently lowered the volume limit so low that it was no longer audible. After turning off the volume limit, everything worked again. We’ve never seen this before in all of our years working with Sonos but glad it was an easy fix. If this happens to you, try going to settings > system > (select device with the issue) > volume limit. Volume limit should be OFF in typical situations. In our scenario it was set at 8% which is so low you wouldn’t be able to hear anything.
IMy sub stopped powering on. As much as a paid for my Sonis I would expect a free or repair or replacement, bit instead Sonos offer me 30% off. Why would I purchase another are more Sonos for the same to occur. Nice sound, but build poorly electronically. Keep you 30%. I sure I can find another set of qualify speakers a5 a better price and better reliability. Very dissatisfied cistomer.
I have a system consisting of a CD player with passive speakers, and a turntable. The CD player doubles as the amp for the turntable.I recently bought a Port in order to play music in another room, which is equipped with an Era 300. That part is working as intended. My issue is that I can't make use of my passive speakers when using the Sonos system. The CD player is used to play Cd's or to amplify the turntable, thus I can't connect it to the Port's out. Did I actually needed a Sonos Amp instead of a Port?
Last Christmas I purchased a Sonos AMP in order to connect a CD player to my Sonos speakers. I researched CD players but never purchased one. I am now ready to purchase a CD player and all the articles I am finding are outdated and the links are to CD players that are no longer in stock or available. What is the best and easiest CD player that I can purchase to connect to my Sonos AMP in order to play CD’s?
I have a Sonos arc and two play ones however the play ones don’t seem to be working. My tv is set to optical/hdmi arc and the sound is coming out of the arc but nothing out of the rears. To use the rears does my tv need to be capable of doing ‘dolby atmos’ or does the arc sound bar do it regardless? I’ve tried changing the settings but nothing is really working. I’m assuming I need to get a new tv with Dolby atmos in the specification of it. anyone know?thanks
Wanted to see if anyone here might be able to help on this I recently got an arc, sub, and two era 300s. The eras connected via surround fine at the beginning and worked for a few days, but starting today the eras won’t standalone but won’t connect via surround. I wasted four hours on the phone with tech support today, and for about three of those hours they kept having me plug and unplug the speakers as if they would magically work again. Level 2 support couldn’t help either.. they escalated me up to where I get to wait until next week Monday to have another fun day with tech support…. Hoping the community might have a faster solution than trying to wait on Sonos “support”.
Hey community. I just purchased the Arc, Sub Gen3 large and Era 3’s. How should I configure my Sony Brava TV speakers. I think i never want the TV speakers, correct? I want everything going out through my Sonos LIving Room system. If y’all agree, should I add my Sonos SL 1’s and group them with the Arc? Or, is that overkill since the Arc as I understand it can act like separate speakers, right and left respectivelyThoughts team GG
I would like to achieve 7.2.4 channels with Sonos arc soundbar with speaker placement. Is it possible?Furthermore, if possible, I would like to arrange the speakers as if using a DENON high-end AV receiver.
I bought a 65 inch Amazon Omni QLED and Sonos Ray soundbar and I am unable to connect the remote because the amazin tv is a rf and the soundbar is a ir. What remote do you recommend I buy to control the soundbar so I don't have to grab my phone each time?
Hey, Just got my hands on a Sonos 1st generation speaker and curious about its compatibility with the latest streaming services and updates. Any Sonos veterans here who can share their experiences with the 1st gen model? Are there any specific limitations or tips for optimizing its performance in 2023? Also, seeking recommendations for the best music streaming platforms that seamlessly sync with this Sonos device. Any insights from the Sonos community would be higly appreciated!
I can find my AMP in the Sonos app and is does not give any errors. However, I have no sound…it works sometime and sometimes it does not. I believe it has to do to with a netwerk issues but not sure. Any suggestions?
Hey gang. I have a 19’ wide X 22’ deep X15’ high ceiling in the living room area. As you can see in the first pic below, i am contemplating putting the 300’s in the corners (see blue boxes). The other option is to have them mounted straight on the face of the wall. Some articles state to not put them in the corners, but other threads say it is okay. It is not an option for us to put them on stands behind the couch given the way my wonderful wife has the room arranged. We listen 50% - 50% music - movies-- maybe more on the movies side. But the kids do love to crank up the system and do the karaoke every once in a while. I am the music appreciation major and love immersing myself in some good music and appreciate the quality of a great mix What is the consensus of y’all? And then how high do y’all recommend? The 2nd image below shows the view facing behind the couch towards the TV. My plan is to place my existing Sonos Play 1 in the bookshelves, although I am contemplating investing in th
Hello everyone, excuse me in advance for any mistakes I am French !I just purchased two Era 100 in addition to my Beam Gen 2 and I have some surround issues with my PS5.. Indeed, surround sound only works in linear PCM on Youtube or any other streaming application but in gaming the surround’s very limited. For example, in Dead By Daylight, I only hear a few very light sounds from the back and no interesting and important sounds (player movements behind my back for example).Do you have some tips to give me to benefit from real surround sound in game (with good spatialization) ?Thank you to those who take the time to respond to me
In my living room, which is much longer than it is wide, I have an existing audio-only setup consisting of a pair of Fives and a Sub. It sounds fantastic - the Fives are wall mounted on one of the short walls so they project sound across the full length of the room. Now I want to add a TV with an Arc to this room. The only location that works for my living room is to put the TB+arc on one of the long walls, so the fives will be on the wall to the left of the viewer.I will of course want to have my Sub as part of the home theater setup. Based on extensive discussions in other threads,I have already understood the fact that I can’t share the Sub with two different “rooms” - one home theatre room and one audio-only stereo room, which would be the obvious solution but it is what it is. I’m certainly not going to buy another sub, so I need to come up with another approach. If I configure the Arc as the center channel with the Fives as the rear surround channel, then will I be happy? Wil
I have a Connect that is hardwired directly to my router, brand new quality cable (because Sonos support suggested I had a bad cable). I’ll be streaming music (from different sources like Pandora or YT Music) and the connect has frequent 2-3 second drop outs. When I’ve got wireless speakers in the same group - they keep playing and don’t lose connection while my Connect drops in and out. I’ve tried different network channel settings and no luck. I’ve experienced a similar problem with a Connect: Amp at another house, although that one is wireless… so the the only consistent factor is they are both the older connect and connect amp and just wondering if updates have caused an issue. They used to be far more reliable. Any suggestions?
I learn after I buy the product and start using it that for some unfathomable reason it won’t work on phone calls. The product has a good mic on it. Every other bluetooth speaker can do this. There is no mention anywhere of the lack of capability. I feel completely misled and wasted my money. I demand an explanation for why the company chooses not to allow this use case. And don’t close this topic for comments just because you don’t want to hear from more customers about this issue. I WANT AN ANSWER.
Hello! My current set up: Our house has built in speakers throughout. We have a tech closet where all of our components are housed- and our Sonos system is the Sonos connect. We also have play 1 speakers through the house in rooms where we have no built in speakers. We listen to music through the app and it plays to which ever rooms or the overall speaker system.we are interested in getting a pro-Ject turntable and keep it in our living room. Is it possible for this to connect via Bluetooth or wireless? Since we have a tech closet, I would not be able to plug the turntable into anything ( just an outlet for power) is this possible? Also do I need to upgrade to the new port instead of using my connect?
