I am trying to wall mount my pair of Sonos Era 100 speakers. I tried at least 2 electricians to install a power outlet near to one of them. Due to various reasons of the house, power outlet could not be installed. My nearest power outlet is at least 13 ft away. The longest available power cable from sonos is 12ft. I could run a 15 ft extension cord closer to the speaker and plug power cable but connector part is bulky and aesthetically it is not an ideal choice. Have any of you faced this problem? How did you solve it?
Maybe I’m doing something wrong here but here are the steps I seem to need to go through in order to enjoy a nice TV watching experience and a nice vinyl listening experience. Am I missing anything here or is this the way it is. Right now, it take about 5 minutes of tinkering to switch modes. Note that I prefer to listen to music without the Beam, as I like a traditional left/right channel with a sub. I have 2 100s, a Sub and a Beam. (Upgrades to 500s will come later) Starting in TV mode and wanting to listen to a record:Remove the Surrounds from the “living room” room. Remove the Sub Move the Sub to one of the 100s Open the Line-in source and make sure the Music group is selected (this has the two 100s and sub)If I want to then start watching TV:Open the Living room Add the Sub Add the SurroundsAny advice or commiseration is appreciated.
Hi Just changed our TV and unfortunately it does not have a headphone Jack like the previous TV had. To allow the TV to work with the ZP100 I have had to use a HDMI to RCA converter. This works Ok apart from when the TV is off I am getting noise out of the ZP100 speakers and looking at the ZP100 via the iOS app it is showing as still receiving a signal. The HDMI to RCA converter is powered from the TV via a usb outlet and powers off when the tv goes into standby mode, unfortunately the only way I can get the ZP100 to ignore the “noise” on the autoplay input is to disconnect the RCA output from the converter. I’ve tried adjusting the autoplay input level but this does not solve the issue. Any body got any ideas how to solve this issue please as ZP100 worked fine with the previous TV.
Hi. We wanted to create a surround sound so we’re advised to buy the beam and 2 SL 1 speakers but we aren’t getting the sound we had before. We were told Sonos is the best so are disappointed. Anyone able to give some advice please? We don’t have a very big room and at the moment we have one speaker to the back left of the room, the beam in front of the sofa under the TV and the other speaker in the right corner of the room. Thanks!
Hello, just want to know if my PC is plugged into the auxiliary port of the Era 300, will it possible to play music into all my other speakers that I have or only in the Era 300 ?
Are there any plans to add this info at some point in the app? None of the major music services within the sonos app display it, far as I can tell. It might be a limitation of it not being in the sonos API, but can’t that be updated? When looking at artist pages, it’s not even clear what order they are in (new to old vs old to new).
Can we alert Sonos through this facility to the extremely poor design of the Roam’s power button. Really difficult to turn on and off. Far too streamlined. Looks good but encourages violent response!
Hi folks, I’ve been trying to troubleshoot this but have had no luck so any advice would be appreciated.I’ve recently bought a Playbar through an auction. I did the factory reset on it, and connected it to the Sonos app on my phone. When trying to set it up with my TV (model: Toshiba 55U6863DB) using the optical cable I hit a problem with the app, it gives the following message:No signal detected. Make sure the optical cable is securely plugged into your TV and your Playbar.I have tried the classic turn it off and on again with both the TV and the Playbar, I’ve tried reconnecting the cables, swapping cables, I’ve changed the audio settings on the TV, tried connecting it with an optical-to-AUX adapter plugged into the headphones jack on the TV, and none of it seems to work.I can stream music from the Spotify app directly to the Playbar with no issues and can confirm the Playbar works from that, and I can also connect my computer to the Playbar but get no audio from it.Does anyone have an
I am using latest Sonos2 app on my iOS devices. While I have system language set to russian sonos app is showing me some chineese (probably). Switching system language to english is working ok.Is there any way to get it working properly? Or its software bug?
Does anyone have thoughts on the acoustic differences between the Move 2 and having 2 of the Move 1s setup in stereo? Thanks,Mike
Hello, Hoping someone could point me in the right direction, it may be more an arcana problem rather than sonos.I had a samsung TV with arc, sub & play 1’s and had atmos through the arcana. Sky TV used TV HDMI1 , hdmi arc went to the arcana, and my HDMI in was a 4K player. All worked fantastically. Until I swopped the TV for an AWOL 3000 UST projector. I used the same cabling, just swopped the projector for the TV. But, now I can’t get any sound through the arc from the projector (sky, netflix or USB) but I can get atmos from the 4K player.I cabled directly from the projector HDMI arc to Sonos eARc , removing arcana from the setup, and I have sound, getting atmos, from Sky (pcm) , Netflix from firestick, and USB. But with this setup I don’t have a connection for my 4K player. So I believe my issue is with the arcana. When I try configure room setup using the sonos app, it errors on either CEC not enabled or point to the HDMI cables. CEC is enabled & I don’t believe it is cabl
Bought a Sonos ARC and Sub system. My Samsung 2019 TV is connected to the ARC and Sub. Sounds pretty good. It was connected to an older sound system so the sound output was already set to use the Optical output while the TV speakers were off. Switch over was easy using the HDMI cable to its ARC output. But now wondering if I am getting the best throughput. Looking at the Samsung setting for Digital Output Audio - it is set to PCM. It lists Dolby Digital and Dolby Digital Plus as options but these are grayed out. Can’t understand why; their documentation (eManual) is very limited. Maybe it is stuck there because I was using the Optical output??? Any ideas???
Grazie.
Hi,First time posting here so appreciate any help with this problem.I recently purchased the Beam 2 to connect to my LG OLED A1 tv (EArc) . Current setup:LG OLED A1 TV - EArc connected to Beam 22 x One SL added as surrounds, SUB Gen 3 also connected.iPad SOnos app - Spotify musicTrue play completed and when playing via TV (Netflix onboard TV app ) or Mac Mini HDMI to LG HDMI, sound is incredible , can see that ATMOS is going through via the SONOS system playing screen.I also have a stereo pair also setup in lounge area for music.Previously before the BEAM 2 addition, I was playing Spotify via the SONOS app to 4x ONE SL’s and SUB and the sound was amazing , clear punchy bass. Now that the the beam 2 and surrounds are added and I play music from SONOS selecting the Living room bonded 5.1 setup the bass is lacking and very lacklustre . I can manually turn up the SUB audio , but its different , not clear and very muddy. When I unbond the sub and join it to the stereo pair, bass is clear
Hi been through the forum and haven’t been able to duplicate others’ success with this.Though I’ve been successful with other surround music formats (BluRay, DVD-A), I’ve been stymied in my attempts to get SACD Surround material to my Sonos. I see the menus and the material is playing, but the signal isn’t making it to the Arc (I am successful in hearing it on the TV’s internal speakers, but that’s not what I want).Equipment is in the subject line, and I have tried with multiple menu settings (including eARC off), but no joy yet.Can anyone help? Thanks!
Previously songs from my itunes library were playing fine and most still do. However, over time more and more songs no longer will play on Sonos. A message appears that says the song is not properly encoded. Is there a fix for this problem?
I have a Samsung frame TV and have paired it with a sonos surround system. Early in 2022 I purchased the TV and then added a sonos arc sound bar, a Sonos Sub and also 2 one SLs to round it out. Everything was working well for several months and then suddenly I am experiencing an irritating problem. For some reason the volume goes down by itself until it eventually is completely mute. If I turn it up it will simply go down slowly until there is no volume at all. The only fix is to unplug the ARC to reboot and it works fine for about a week and then the problem repeats itself. Any thoughts on how to fix this as its getting very irritating.
Hi,just purchased era 300 in order to replace SL one mounted on the wall.since I would like to keep the same position I would like to get feedback on the below wall location:Distance from the floor ~2 metersDistance from the ceiling ~1 metersDistance between both era ~3 meters I understand that the best way is to mount them in upside down.Any feedback if this should be ok? Any concern I should take in account?thanks in advance,
I added YouTube Music to my Sonos Android app (Sonos S2) today, but several problems happened. Especially, I cannot play music on a Sonos device from the app. I use Sonos Beam (Gen 2), and I enrolls YouTube Music Premium via YouTube Premium. Here is a list of problems I encountered:Problem 1: Sonos app only shows one playlist of mine. I can view several playlists on https://music.youtube.com/library/playlists, but Sonos app only shows one of them. Problem 2: When I try to play the playlist, the app shows an access denial error. To be precise, it shows “「xxx」を再生できません -アクセスは拒否されました” in Japanese. Problem 3: When searching songs of YouTube Music on Sonos app, it always shows no songs for all queries I tried. Both English queries and Japanese queires return nothing. Additional information:I can play music with Sonos app and Sonos Radio. Removing YouTube music from Sonos app and re-adding it does not resolve above issues. Restarting the app and Sonos Beam also does not work. I live in Japan,
I am wanting to get a nice surround sound set up. I’m thinking of getting the Arc, 2 Era 300 speakers, and a subwoofer. The living room I’ll be using the surround sound in is fairly small, about 10x20 ft size room. Is this set up overkill? Any other recommendations? Is SONOS a good choice? Thanks!
Hi all, first post.i have a bean gen 2 and 2 so one ones. I have been trying to connect the two ones as a surround pair, but am having difficulty. I have called Sonos and they are raising the case further but was wondering if anyone else had this issue. My beam is connected to the Vodafone pro hub router via Ethernet and seems fine, but both ones are not connected to the WiFi. If I connected the ones to the router with an Ethernet switch would this rectify the issue. It’s not ideal but reading on here it seems an issue with the Vodafone router?thanks in advance.
Except for the hardware on the speaker itself, this must be the crappiest system ever, Things that are trivial on any other app/system becomes a nightmare on Sonos. Just to add a speaker and get it to work without a LAN cable (LAN cable?! Really!) is a f****** nightmare. Going through an eternal loop of find a new network, asking for microphone access (AGAIN! REALLY?!!!). Activating WLAN or deactivating WLAN and the reactivating it does nothing In I unplug this mf speaker its like groundhog day, all over again, same s***** guidelines, works as long there is a cable put in to it. Once I unplug the lan-cable, the crappy app cant find the speaker, the only thing that works is a factory reset and do it all over again. Every time there is an update to the Sonos Controller on my MacAir it fails, despite updates to Mac OS as well. The only suggestion I get from Support is to uninstall then reinstall. Is anyone else experiencing this? Is there a bigger problem or something in my setup? Thoughts anyone.
I have listened to The Sound Radio Station on Sonos via Radio.net for a year or so but whilst the station is still visible it now won't play . However , going to the Radio.net website on a computer I can play the The Sound . Assuming it's something between Radio.net and Sonos but other stations still play as usual. Any ideas please ?
