Troubleshoot, tune and get the most out of your system

Hello Sonos Community!I have a bit of a head scratcher. We just moved in to our new home, and there is a lovely cutout in the wall for my record collection in it’s cabinet, and I would love to place the turntable and my Sonos Port there and use it. HOWEVER, the rub here is that there is no A/C wall outlet! There is also no way to aesthetically run an extension cord to it. I would prefer to avoid having an electrician come run a new line, but that is possible, of course. Has anyone here ever run a system like this with a portable power supply/battery such as this device? I am just starting to research these items, so I’m not set on this particular one. My concerns would be:Run time (I wouldn’t leave the Port idling when using this setup, since I’d only used it a couple times per week. The hifi turntable is with a separate analog 2 channel system in another room), Noise Aesthetics (can I hide it? I think I can, in the record cabinet). Thanks!Bozeman, MT
My system is:Sony Bravia 4K VH21 TV (model is XR-55A95K)SONOS Amp (attached via eARC to the TV)2 SONOS Move speakers (the speakers are the 1 and not the newer MOVE2)The audio usually (but not always) connects regularly and promptly. However, I regularly have trouble (almost always) getting audio thru TV system - often times even though the app shows speakers connected. Internet connection (although in an adjacent room) is strong and I have tried many trouble shooting techniques, eg:restarting modem and router resetting Move speakers back to factory settings and re-connecting to system etc.Eventually, I can usually get the TV audio to work thru the system, but it takes time and is extremely frustrating.Any advice or help would be most welcome and appreciated.Thx!
Hi, my father in law bought an IKEA Symfonisk gen2. After the installation in the S2 app the sonos app does not show the system. I’ve tried both wireless as well as wired and also rebooted the network router without success. After that I took the device to my home and added the device to my existing sonos system. Then the device appears in the app. So the device seems to be ok. After that I did a reset of the device and let my father in law install the device as a new device within his account (but with the device within my local network). After the installation the same issue is present, I.e. the device does not appear in the sonos S2 app. This appears to me that the issue appears when the symfonisk is added as a first device. does anyone have an idea what can be done to fix the issue? Or is it a bug in the S2 app?
This is what I get after uninstalling app and reinstalling. I can see and run everything from iMac but not Android. Support is appalling and chat line blinks between not there, unavailable and unhelpful. Utterrly dreadful. Possibly the worst i have experienced with any organization. Then the second image when i click to join existing system.
After all those years and so many asked for it, should be there already! As a grandfather now who is having two new ones to sleep home frequently, this is not a nice to have!It is a must have!Otherwise, it is forgotten for days afterward!Customers are getting older you know! Pressing on the moon button to activate should have a On and a 12 hours option right there. Thanks for finally do it!
I can’t add Deezer account on Sonos app I tried several times.
Since the new app update, my Sonos Era 300 will not complete the setup process. I have tried connecting it to 4 different WiFi networks and creating a new Sonos account to change ownership of the speaker, but nothing is working. I contacted Sonos support and they told me it was a WiFi issue since I was using a public WiFi network at my university. I have tested this theory and found that this is no longer the case. I have used private and public WiFi networks to set up this speaker and none of them have worked. I have reset the speaker about 20 times trying to solve this issue and nothing is working still. I had the speaker connected before the new app update to my public WiFi network and now it is no longer working. Is there any fix to this? I know some people have had positive results with changing the security protocol of the WiFi network, but I can not do this since it is a public network. Does anyone know how to fix this issue? Or if it is an app issue, does anyone know when this
Over the last 4-5 days, speakers have randomly been resetting the volume to 0, causing the green light to display on the speaker. In over a decade of using sonos, I have never seen this. Has anyone else seen this? I’m wondering whether it’s to do with the new app given the number of bugs present?
Well that’s what it feels like to me.Someone had to post this just to see if it gets taken down.
The app keeps muting the playbar. It is very frustrating. Started happening a couple of weeks ago. Does anyone know how to resolve this?
Is it worth using TruePlay on a pair of Era 100 speakers paired in Stereo. New Era 100 arriving today to make stereo pair. I used TruePlay on previous One / One SL stereo set up, didn’t do it with the Era 100:as it sounded ok out of the box.
I lost the Rooms that show the patio speakers
My ARC was working fine on my Sony TV, when i turned on the TV it found the ARC input on the TV and switched to the proper input after that. Now it doesnt switch to the proper HDMI input for TV. I have to manually switch the TV input for Video. What can I do to correct this?
I use a NAS to store my music. In the new app, the 3 dots at the bottom/right are greyed out so crossfade, sleep timer, etc don’t work. When will these features be added back to the new app? (note: they were available on the old app)
Hi all,the new app update completely broke the system with 5 Symfonisk speakers we have at work. Right after the update, accoring to the app there is no Sonos system set up on our network at all.I reset all speakers, but when I go through the setup process again, all goes fine up until the point I enter my WiFi network details, it proceeds to the next step of connecting but infinitely hangs at this point until it says the speaker is connected but may not be visible until I restart the speaker. After doing this and rebooting the speaker, it never shows up in system settings. The weird thing is, they're definitely all connected to the network because I can use them using AirPlay, but the Sonos app still says there is no network.I have updated the app two times now since the new app (first to 80.01.30 and then to 80.02.04). Both versions give the same result.Does anyone have any suggestion here? Ethernet is not an option as we do not have access to ethernet ports on our network due to IT po
Hi, I have two Wi-Fi networks one in the house and one in a garden room. I’d like to connect my very old play 5 gen 1 to the garden room network but having issues doing so. I believe I need to use the old s1 app to connect, but it doesn’t let me link the device via Wi-Fi or Ethernet cable.
I recently updated the app, as well as all of my software for the speakers in my house. Ever since then, my speakers will randomly reset the volume to 0 multiple times throughout the day, which then causes them to display a green light on top of the speaker. Is this happening to anyone else? Super annoying, especially in the middle of the night when the white noise in my kids room turns off and wakes them up. Need this fixed asap.
Just updated to the new app and found that the main way I play music to my speakers has been broken. I utilize “Music Library” > “Folders” to play music so that I can choose which FLACs I play over the Sonos system (I had to downsample some HD FLACs so Sonos can play them). This has always worked with both the S1 and S2 controller apps. However after the update, it will still play the song I selected but it shows “No Title” for the song title, does not show time played/remaining, and does not proceed to the next song as normal if you were to select a song in an list of songs from an album. Everything works fine if I go into “Music Library” > “Artists” or another method of selecting songs.
I am no longer view my list of albums or songs downloaded from Spotify and cannot therefore play them. Can anyone help me please?
I recently had outdoor speakers installed professionally. I have the TP-Link Deco XE75 AXE4500 Mesh network. The speakers run off of a Sonos Amp. I have tried to connect the amp to the Wifi, and the person who installed the system has also tried it. Neither of us have been able to get it to work. I have even hard-wired the amp to see if that works. The tech who installed it had an Eero router, which connected immediately with no issue. Are there connectivity issues with TP-Link routers? Has anyone else had this issue or know how to fix it?
Since buying and setting up my Samsung Frame TV 2020 with Sonos Arc, Sub and SL One pair a few years ago, I have dealt with the regular and sometimes daily problem of volume loss. More specifically, no matter what I do with the Frame’s remote, I cannot get/control volume. The Sonos Arc is connect to the Frame via the HDMI ARC cable provided by Sonos. I have run updates on the Frame & every Sonos product I own.If I unplug the Sonos Arc, the Samsung Frame’s native speakers work immediately.Last I heard about this, Sonos and Samsung were working on a fix:I have tried every troubleshooting step and cannot get my set up to function properly and remain stable. Can anyone at Sonos please provide a definitive explanation as to why this is happening and if anything is being done to resolve the issue once and for all.Thank you.
So the old set up use to acknowledge when I said the word Alexa. Now it doesn’t do anything so I don’t know if it hears me or not. Is that just how it is now?
Hi All.Im a noob and have 2 x play:1 speakers as surrounds to my beam gen1. How do i enable voice control and Alexa on the beam? When i try through the app it just gives me instructions on using a 3rd parry alexa instead of the beam itself? Does it support standalone voice assistant. If not, what is 'voice control'.. is that supported im a little confused if im honest.
Patrick, I’m following up on my initial email I sent at the end of May. Thank you for forwarding my email on to your support team. Two different technology experts who deal frequently with all Sonos products have noted that the Sonos upgraded application is a complete failure. It is great to see that Sonos continues to pump out new products such as headphones of which the Sonos application used to operate these high cost sound equipment is a drastic failure. Your level 2 support team has completed let me down. I have continued to hope for a successful update to the Sonos app. To allow me to once again enjoy my sound system which I paid thousands for. As of today, I cannot play my system and it is a failing mess. It looks like this last update on June 17 was supposed to help the volume situation. Instead it made it worse. Only one volume slider is showing. It was working fine yesterday. After the update they are gone. And right now the system won’t play anything. It is not working at al
Until Sonos upgrade their software to make the system usable, I am using Apple Airplay 2 to stream music from my iTunes library to a Sonos Port using my iPad as a controller. The Sonos Port is just an end point which is able stream from other platforms like Roon. The iPad controller interface with Airplay 2 is better than Sonos 2 V1. For playing on my main system or headphones, for the time being is a workable solution for me.
