Hi, I have two Wi-Fi networks one in the house and one in a garden room. I’d like to connect my very old play 5 gen 1 to the garden room network but having issues doing so. I believe I need to use the old s1 app to connect, but it doesn’t let me link the device via Wi-Fi or Ethernet cable.

If it is a Gen 1 Play 5 then yes you will need the S1 App. The play 5 wil almost inevitably need an an update as when you install S1 on your phone you will get the latest version.
We need to know more about your network to help. How are the two WI-FI networks setup are they both related to the same router or do you have multiple internet connections. do you use powerline devices? Which wifi network does your phone connect to.
