Controllers and Music services

Dear Sonos,I know this question has been asked before. But is there any estimation when this will come ? Or just the confirmation it will come would be nice.I mean native streaming like with Qobuz (AirPlay isn’t the same quality I notice)thanks!!

I have several streaming services (Spotify, Tidal, Qobuz) connected to my Spotify S2 app on iOS. None of them seem to allow sorting or filtering playlists within the Sonos app, based on playlist name. This seems like a really basic feature, and it’s essential because I have thousands of playlists.  Does this feature truly not exist, or am I missing something? 

When streaming Qobuz FLAC with Roon to Sonos One and grouping in S1 that Sonos One with a stereo pair of Play 5 Gen 1 what quality do you get from Play 5 Gen 1? Roon Signalpath shows 48/24 for signal to Sonos One. But what quality do the grouped Play 5 Gen 1 play? For local files Play 5 Gen 1 are capable of 48/24 FLAC. But in this streaming scenario? Thank you

Dear Sonos could you please explain your route about high resolution music support? I understand you support now on S2 and Port up to 24bit and 48khz.What worth is it as the majority of provided ‘high res’ music formats are 24bit 96 khz?It is none. You either can play the regular high res or not.Your upgrade is just a lossless CD Quality (16bit 44khz) with a bit of headroom (24bit 48khz). A great offer would be: The port and amp plays the original file, for example 24bit 96khz. If needed converts it to lower resolution to be played on the play one’s and five’s … .A port / amp should always give you the possibility to play the original quality file.

I see this question was posted over a year ago, but no one seemed to know the answer (unless I missed it?). So I figured I’d ask again!  As an example, if I go into the Tidal Android app or the Tidal desktop app and look up Elvis Costello’s King of America, it is listed exactly one time. But in the Sonos app, it lists three times, and each one looks identical:Clicking on them, there is no difference in track listing. On Tidal, this album is listed as “Master” quality. So one possibility is that Tidal, behind the scenes, has three different steam types available for this same album. Perhaps, that’s why Sonos shows it like it is three different albums? Maybe each one sound a bit different? I’m curious if Sonos or Tidal has addressed why this is happening. (I realize this is probably Tidal’s issue, but since it makes it harder to use Sonos, it w

Hi team.  I have been given a sealed CR200 and was wondering if it is still possible to add it to an existing S1 system?It will be running the original software it was built with (2013).  Is it possible to add and update like a normal player or would it need support intervention? Or possibly not work at all….. I would rather keep it sealed as a collectors item if it is not going to be possible to use it in my S1 system. 

I’m at a rented villa for a month that has two Sonos speakers. I can play their music but want to play mine and understand that I will need to use airplay. My question should all Sonos speakers be discoverable on  a given wifi network?  I’ve tried I think all the troubleshooting tips I’ve seen in this forum but have still had no luck. Anyone have any tips/tricks?.  Thx. 

The problem nr. 16 since i bought this software mess. How to access my library again?

Brand new NAS drive, 3800 tracks, Sonos fails the initial update after about 10 minutes, saying the drive is no longer available. Except it is, to any other device on the network. Permissions are wide open.Not sure where to even start with this...

I have a Sonos system which generally works well. Recent bad weather has resulted in several drops of mains power , sometimes for a few seconds, sometimes for a few hours. The result is always the same. I have some radio sources permanently attached to each speaker - so for example the Sonos ONE in the ‘Dining Room’ has my favourite radio station permanently connected; the speaker is simply turned on and off via the top button on the speaker.I have several speakers in different rooms similarly setup in the same way.After a power outage the knowledge of which radio station connects to which speaker is lost and has to be setup again.While this is ok for me, being relatively familiar with the Sonos app I have to say that my wife - aged 80 - and with little technical skill in the system would, if left alone , be frankly unable to sort it out, rendering the system useless.Surely this product cannot be aimed purely at tech savvy youngsters.  

Hi team, Can i pair a Arc or Beam Gen 2 with Play:3 surrounds and get Amazon Dolby Atmos music?From what i’ve read the Play:3s wont do Ultra HD but no mention of Dolby Atmos Music. Cheers

I have my Sonos system with Spotify Password saved on it.I now would like to create, for my office separated from my house, another Sonos account using the same configuration, including Spotify. But I do not remember the Spotify pasword that I used.Is there any chance to get the saved password from Sonos Controller / App ?many thanks.

Hello,Love Sonos for 10+ years. The ability to set a schedule for night sound would be a big, simple improvement. It ends up getting left on accidentally. If anyone can influence that I would appreciate it! Thanks. 

Hi.I have a Sonos system in my house use by all the family members (using both by App and by PC).I now would like to implement a second Sonos system in my working office, but I do not want that my family members can access the Sonos Office location.Is it possible? In other words, can I create a two separate system that only myself can manage both, whilst my family can continue to access only the house system?many thanks.

Album art disappeared after Sonos update, my music library is on a WD my cloud mirror and has been for over 5 years using S1 & S2 with no problems but after Sonos update lots of art work was missing Sonos advised me to remove my library and reload it, still lots of art work missing but now lots of albums are indexing wrong ID tags have been perfect for 10 years with Sonos all correct in iTunes and Windows 10 but Sonos splits albums that have been correct for years after speaking to Sonos they can’t help and they don’t know why it is doing it any help please.

Is there a way to quickly level all the rooms/zones in a group without having to adjust the volume of each one individually? For example, I start playing music and select “Everywhere” and the volumes of each speaker/zone will be at a different level after their last individual uses. Then when I adjust the group volume they adjust proportionally from their individual starting points. I’d like a way to quickly normalize them so they are all at “volume level 15” rather than 11, 22, 19 & 28. If there isn’t a way, there should me (in my opinion)

Hi I’m curious what people think of the mini controller ? It can be displayed in two windows sizes but I find both sizes are too big and much unpractical because it always lay somewhere on your desktop and will eat on your other apps. I wish it could be minimized neatly in the task bar with just the volume and the cue forward / backward or back / next buttons. No need to display the album cover picture this eat too much space. Anyone think the same ?

There’s already a conversation for this, but it’s a few years old.It’d be really neat if we could customise the crossfade on Sonos - ie increase/decrease the crossfade length, and (this is maybe a stretch goal) enabling it for some playlists, while disabling for other playlists. I find the current crossfade length isn’t really useful, and would love to be able to increase it :)

Can anyone tell me what is supposed to be included under the “My Music” heading within the Apple Music service in the Sonos app? I assumed it would show me music that I’ve added to my Library from within the native Apple Music app, but it’s empty (all sections within My Music are empty — artists, albums, playlists, etc). All other aspects of Apple Music that the Sonos app supports work fine. 

Hello, ...I just saw that in the Sonos S2 (13.4.1) application on macOS, in the Preferences –> Music Library –> Music Library Settings, in “My music folders on Sonos”, we could point to several folders . In my case, and since I have a Sonos system, I specified a “Music” folder located on my Synology NAS.My question: is the limitation to 65,000 files imposed by Sonos calculated on a single shared folder or on all the shared folders?...If so, it could blow up this incomprehensible limitation of Sonos!…If not, is this limit 65000 units or 65536 units (2 to the power of 16)?…Finally, does this limit take into account folders and image files (cover)?…Thank you for your answers...   ;-)

Hello, I’m looking for a way to lock my Apple Music account with a password so no one else on the Sonos account can use it. The issue isn’t people on the account but people on my personal Apple Music. Is there a way to password protect personal music streaming accounts? 

Can someone explain to me the logic behind the annoying “feature” S2 app has that wakes up my PC every time a new piece of music starts playing?I explain. I have S2 running on my PC. I select a station I want to play. Then I put my PC to sleep (so it turns my computer and the monitors off so it doesn’t use energy) and go downstairs to do my stuff or to stay with my friends. The music plays and the moment a new song comes on, my computers comes out of sleep mode and is “ready” for something. I was told once by support guy that this is so in case you want to change the music, it’s already there. Why on Earth I want this to be ready if I’m downstairs (or far away) from the machine? Do they know that people can do the same from their phone app?It’s just plain stupid and a waste of energy. My PC has some LED lights so I can’t use it when I want to have a relaxing nap. I have to make sure that I shutdown the app first before putting my PC to sleep.So annoying.

I am running on S1 system 11.3 version.I am being invited to update automatically which I usually do, but I like to know the nature of any updates before updating so as to avoid any reduction of services either hardware or software.Sonos never offer details of updates.How can I find full details of updates before accepting the update.
